The branch was rude inconsiderate and refused to pick up 2 boxes months ago said it had to be all 3 which cost me$100 extra a month for several months. When i notified them to pick up all 3 boxes they refused until payment was made costing me 2 more months at $150 and $600 in HOA fines. They left the packing pads 10 bags of them at my old residence which cost my security deposit there. To say the least, I would never recommend this location in life. The only good experience about this is their driver Michelle who went out of her way to help me through this. She is fantastic. then i add a member of the HOA as an authorized user and she calls and they pick up the boxes the very next day with no argument. Seems odd that they would do that beings they needed their money so bad.

Online rental process was convenient and easy. Container arrived as scheduled and on time. It was also retrieved as planned. It arrived at new location a couple of days early, and was delivered the next day. Upon unloading (which went much faster than loading the container), the pod was picked up within an hour of calling. U-Haul also does a good job in keeping customer informed of status. With the above type of experience, how could I not be fully satisfied and give them 5 stars?

I had a horrible experience with U-Haul for a number or reasons. The communication was terrible, I didn’t get calls on time and the quotes for timing were all incorrect. They were a number of extremely rude employees and they didn’t quote me correct pricing. I also called to have it picked up early because it was delivered on a trailer and taking up two spaces, and they ignored the request after telling me they would pick it up 2 days early. The gentleman who brought the trailer was rushed, was frustrated with me and didn’t even want to help, he left in his truck without even saying goodbye. Overall, I was very disappointed in the customer service of U-Haul.

Deliver u boxes I can use and not have to send back for a replacement. Use 1 order number per customer. I asked for 4 uboxes received 2 ordered 2 more and got another order number. I needed 1 more ubox yet another number one more number to put everything toghter. We moved from Phoenix AZ. to Crossville TN. I received an email charging a storage fee on 11/17/19 u boxes were returned 11/6/19. 45 minutes 6 different u haul representative 2 could do nothing at all except transfer me to another repersentive. Finally the driver called who dropped off and picked up the u boxes found the Tempe AZ. store was charging a storage fee. The boxes were long gone from AZ. Why would Tempe be charging a storage fee anyway?

The UBox method of moving worked out perfectly for our situation. We took a month to pack the 2 boxes - giving us time to make decisions on what/how much to keep. Equally important was the open-ended nature of access and continued storage at the receiving end of the move... our apartment was not available to us for a month after we expected, but we had access to necessary clothing and paperwork that were in the UBoxes, leaving the bulk of furniture and goods in UBox storage until we finally got our apartment and were able to arrange for a local mover to pick up everything and haul it to our new home. Because we were able to pack our goods originally, we were able to ensure that fragile items were protected, and, in fact, the entire move was made without damage to any of our furniture or household goods. The UBox alternative proved to be the perfect way for us to move from Chicago to Phoenix.

All went well except, when the uhaul box arrived the orange wrap was put on backwards. The velcro side was on the opposite end of the door. This made it difficult to get the door open. We appreciated the prompt drop off and pick up. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The gal I spoke to was very apologetic about what happened.

Hi, uhaul messed up so much that one of your managers offered to comp me the move. And did so. And then I guess there was another mess up where that wasn’t recorded properly in the system, and so then you charged me ... and then messed up again. This whole thing was a disaster. And your manager was supposed to call me. In fact she called me once, it was not a good time and she was supposed to call me back and never did. Absolute worst experience ever. And then when I got the box... the lock on it had been broken so they had to hammer/smash it off. Not to mention that you guys had nailed the box shut and so we (movers)couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t open. And that was just the ending experience.

These comments are in general. While the employees throughout my experience were mostly excellent, the U-Haul system appears to need some work. There was a lot of confusion I think due to the number of boxes we had (started with 6 growing to 11). Box numbers and contract numbers seemed to cause problems within the system. It also appeared that some employees really didn't want to handle the issues while others jumped at handling resolutions. I think U-Haul needs some fine-tuning and with that, it would be even more cost-effective vs. say PODs.

This was hands down the worst moving experience of my life. Tony ended up being helpful in the end, and we appreciate the partial refund, however communication throughout UHaul SUCKS, it took a good week and 7 people to schedule our move because people didn't know where our box was or didn't actually submit the correct info about our address and time. Our ubox then was not put on the proper truck (causing the week delay) but no one called me. I then sat on the phone with about 20 people trying to figure out what was going on, but no one had any record of the original delivery date.

Hands down the worst experience of my 47 years on this planet. Must’ve taken 2 dozen calls to make a simple a move of 2 of your pod things 30 miles or so across town. Our stuff was lost, stolen, hijacked, kept for several days...I just can’t continue. It infuriates me thinking of how far out of my way I went to make sure this was as easy as possible for UHaul to understand and to execute. Would have been less painful had I simply shoved a carving knife in my eyeball. And, just to cap it all off with a nice red cherry on top, they had the nerve - not the authorization but the nerve - to charge my credit card for their mistakes. To say this ultimately pathetic display put on by UHaul’s corporate, scheduling, Tempe store and Litchfield Park offices should have been free of charge is the understatement of the year. The utter incompetence is simply staggering. If I owned these branches or was responsible for maintaining institutional control, operations, finance, governance and, heaven forbid, for leading the company, I would fire every person involved and then ask the Board to fire me. Never before, in any circumstance have I observed or even ever heard of a situation chocked more full of ignorance, stupidity and negligence the likes of what I and my wife went throw. These assholes turned what should have been one of the happiest moments of my life into a nightmare.

NOTHING was correct.Poor communication about EVERY aspect of this move. When I originally called to have the boxes moved. I was told they would arrive on 9/29. They arrived on 10/4. I could not set up people to move my stuff because there was no communication about when or where my boxes were, as well as when they would arrive. I spent SEVERAL HOURS OVER SEVERAL DAYS attempting to find out where my UBoxes were and when they would arrive. I could not move into my apartment in a timely manner because my boxes were late. I was charged for an additional month of rent on my boxes because of this. I was also given conflicting information each time I called and information changed depending on which person at UHaul I was speaking with. No one wanted to take responsibility for the mistakes that were made and only one person in Phoenix was truly able to help me. The SF/Bay Area staff had no idea what was going on and constantly put me on hold for significantly long periods of time. They also tried to charge me for things that should have been covered by the arrangement for dropping off and picking up the boxes. They also did not listen to me when I attempted to tell them where the boxes were to be left and emptied. The people that UHaul contracted with to move my things appeared pleasant enough, and were able to get the job done quickly, but they were much later than the appointed time. When the UBoxes were opened, things fell out of the boxes. Overall, my experience was an extremely poor one. Because no one was able to provide me with needed information, I was in limbo for several days. I have yet to speak with an Area Supervisor, and would still like to speak to someone who has any way to make this right.

I based my initial rental on your advertisement that you can get a 1800 square foot house in 3 boxes. It took 6 boxes and we had to move two truck loads in addition. Please provide more accurate information. Otherwise the boxes and service was great.

My experience with the U-box, was a total a complete scam from u-haul. I rented u-boxes from a Chandler, AZ location. After successfully clearing the boxes I was renting and turning them in - the location above in Tempe (not where I rented them) started charging me an unauthorized rental fee. When I called to cancel I was dodged, no return calls. I had to a file financial fraud claim against the charges, and my bank found that they were in fact fraudulent. On top of that, the manager of said location (Sam) has never returned a call or email and continues to contact me saying I owe money even after he was found to be fraudulent. By far the worst experience with u-haul I have ever had. Likely will never use your services again because of it.

When I called to schedule pickup I was told I could get dual trailer based on tow vehicle. When I showed up I was told that wasn’t possible based on my vehicle despite the vehicle having ample towing capacity. U-Haul needs to update their system to allow for this. If I’d known this I would have had the boxes transferred to a closer location.

Everyone I worked with in person was amazing and helpful. I was disappointed by uhaul’s general communication about my box’s delivery. I received cryptic, almost nonsensical text messages and never received a phone call to schedule my unloading. As a result, by the time I called to check in it was too late for me to unload on my desired date that I had worked so hard to make sure everything would be perfect for. I also was very surprised to have to pay a month of rent while my box was in transit and while it sat inaccessible for me to unload. For those reasons, I would warn a friend of these major cons and hidden expenses before using this service. Which is a shame because the people working on site were so great and helpful to make that part of the move easy.

We moved from Illinois to Arizona and used U-Box for all our furniture and belongs. There were a few small issues but nothing major. The cubes arrived on time to load and unload. I would recommend to order one extra cube just in case it is needed, since you will not be charged unless you use it. This saved us at least $8 to $10 thousand dollars.

My empty (unused) UBox was returned to this facility and it took 3 months and a personal visit for them to process the return correctly and stop the threatening emails I was (inaccurately) receiving for non-payment. They are completely unresponsive if something goes wrong and do not take care of administrative details. I would never uses them again.

The entire experience was so painless! We actually needed an additional box (we have too much crap apparently)! They not only got one to us next day (WHICH WAS A SUNDAY MIND YOU!) They picked it up with the rest of the uboxes! We only paid for an additional delivery fee! Drop off #1, drop off #2, pick up #1, drop off #3 and pick up #2, were on time (sometimes even early) which takes a lot of stress off a cross country move! Thank you all for your help!

This order was messed up from the beginning with not enough uboxes dellvered (my error in calculating) in a timely manner. Latches hasps were broken or missing on the boxes. 4 of the boxes were sent to the warehouse facility in Tempe AZ without MY locks attached due to damage. Manager stated send locks with driver and they would be attached when latches and doors were repaired. did do that as per his instructions. Boxes arrived in Oregon to my location with UHaul locks attached and one of my . My 4 locks are somewhere in Arizona and one of my locks that did arrive was so damaged it was inoperable. I had to ppurchase a bolt cutter to get the locks off and hire someone to cut them. I have been charged for a UBox that invoice states is in Tempe location when all boxes were delivered to Oregon.Told initially would receive one month free storage because of all the inconvenience; this did not happen. If it wasn't for the redeeming factor of the Oregon crew I would NEVER recommend UBox services to anyone.

We received an email three days before expected arrival saying our boxes had arrived. We tried to call the location several times but no one answered so we went to the location. There was no marked entrance so we went to another location hoping for help. No one was able to get ahold of them. The email said we should be contacted, so we thought maybe someone needed to call us to set up an appointment, so we waited the 3 days. No one ever called. We ended up waiting on hold for customer service only to be told that we would have to make an appointment. We waited for the manager, and he told us to just show up! We showed up and emptied our 2 boxes in 2 days. Notified the staff that we were done. Now, a month later, my card has been charged at 2 different locations for storage of those EMPTY boxes! I tried to call one of the locations and he said I am not in his records and he would call me back. 5 days later, still no call. Called customer service and they only sent him a message. Still no call. VERY disappointing from a company that promised an easy experience.

The original drop-off of U-Boxes went well. The pickup was a mess. We were told the pickup would be between noon & 4 the next day, so we did not expect a confirmation call. The person who called to confirm did so when we had movers filling the boxes, so lots of noise & we missed the call. No message was left. So, I sat in an empty house for 4 hours waiting. I finally called about 3:45 but by the time my call was routed to scheduling, the office was closed. I called first thing the next morning but the day's schedule was full, so we had to wait another day. Further, we now had to drive an hour to be at the house within the identified 4-hour window. Major pain. I called 3 weeks ahead of the day for dropping off the full boxes to confirm. All OK. However, when I called 2 days before the drop off date, we were not on the schedule. The on-line screen did not allow changes; I had to phone. When confirming later, all data relayed was not there. The on-line screen did not show pick up or drop of dates and times. I've always had positive experiences with renting trucks and storage. However, I'll never use the U-Box service again.

Please offer a complementary pick up and drop off at the residence, at least for people living within a certain distance from the U-Haul locations (less than 5-10 miles). Not everyone has a car with a trailer hitch to pick up and drop off the U-Box containers.

I could have been told when I first made the reservation that U boxes does not deliver to Maricopa. That was poor customer service. I had to spend extra money to rent a truck AND pay for the movers. That was roughly $700 I was not planning on spending when I was quoted $99 delivery fee when ready.. And then, on top of that, u haul wants to charge my account for storage, the day after my stuff was delivered. I used to rely on uhaul. Hopefully it will be awhile before I have to move again, but I will definitely shop around before using uhaul again.

If you are going to have a guaranteed arrival date and then promise a refund for each day the uBox is late, then the refund should be arranged in a more timely manner. There’s no reason why it’s been 2 weeks and I still have not received my refund for a 3-day late arrival! It didn’t take you 2 weeks to take the money from my bank account so it shouldn’t take that long to return funds neither. It’s just all around bad business. I definitely am not recommending your services. I’ve had nothing but issues with your company in regards to your UBox. Completely unorganized services from beginning to end. I’d prefer to spend more money with a company that will do as they say rather than pay your prices and receive such terrible service. I’m so disappointed in UHaul for the way business has been conducted with me consider how much the UBox services cost me. Unbelievable.

Every aspect was good except UBox delivery. All Tempe personnel were excellent. Virginia office became a BIG problem. Original delivery to VA was scheduled for June 8. Email was received a week prior stating the drop off was changed to June 5 with pickup on June 7. Apartment occupancy was not until June 8 for which movers were scheduled. It took 4 phone calls and 3 days to resolve/change those dates. I was transferred to different people and offices multiple times. Requests were made for a return call, but that call never happened. In the end , all worked out properly but it literally took 3 days to accomplish this, and I have no idea how/who changed the original written plan for VA drop off/pick up. Extremely disappointed with that aspect, and am very unlikely to use UBox again or to recommend to others.

The women dropping off & picking up the Uboxes were very professional and communicated well. Unfortunately no one ever answered a call at the Tempe location, and it was always routed to a call center so that was disappointing. Call wait times are ridiculously long and very frustrating!! U Haul definitely needs to start accepting ACH transactions for U Box shipping charges, and not demanding a credit card payment.

My experience with with receiving and packing my U-Boxes was good. The service representatives were very helpful. All of that changed when I got to my destination and set up delivery of my goods. Not only did they schedule my delivery for an unavailable (to Uhaul) time, when the boxes did not show up, and I called Uhaul to figure out what was happening, they gave me a different excuse each time I called from traffic, to them telling me I was supposed to pick up the boxes, to them Mis-scheduling the driver. Once the boxes arrived, they weren’t mine. Upon notifying the driver (who was very sweet) she began crying and called her supervisor who yelled at her while she yelled at him. She then spent the next 30 minutes crying and yelling on the phone to her friends about the situation. I finally received my boxes at 8 pm that evening and had to now pay for TWO days of movers as I had to reschedule them. I’ll never use UBox again.

The safety latch where I put a padlock was completely destroyed. Screws were falling off and the latch was bent to a point where I couldn’t open the door. The transporter helped me pry the remainder of the latch open. I was worried about my personal belongings but everything seemed to be there. Aside from that situation everything worked out.

When I called to request our 3 UBoxes be delivered, I requested a 7 AM delivery. I was told there is an algorithm that determines drop-off routes and I’ll get whatever that decides. Not ideal. I get a call at 5:30 PM the evening before to tell me the drop off window is 10-12. I live in Phoenix. Having a box dropped off at 12 on June 1 is NOT a great situation. The day of delivery I didn’t hear anything. No call from the driver or anyone else. At around 11:50 I called the number on the website to be told that the person could not tell me where my boxes were, where the delivery driver was, or when she would arrive. I was also told that the boxes could not be picked up on Sunday. Absolutely unacceptable! I called again at 12:40, 40 minutes after the delivery window ended, and after 6 minutes on hold a person answered and was very confused because she was the dispatcher for Las Vegas, not Phoenix, and didn’t know why she was getting the call. After she connected with the Phoenix dispatcher, she told me my box was next and that she would contact the driver to find out the ETA. I waited on hold for a couple of minutes and was told the driver was loading the boxes and would be to my house in an hour. I was speechless. I was originally told the dispatcher could not contact the driver and had no idea where they were, but now the dispatcher in Vegas could find the driver in Phoenix when the Phoenix representative couldn’t, and my box would be there 2 hours after the delivery window, in the heat of a Phoenix day. The driver arrived, unloaded the boxes, and told me that she could absolutely retrieve the boxes on Sunday, contrary to what the scheduler stated. The boxes were retrieved on Sunday and are gone. The UBox concept is great, but the entire experience was an absolute farce and seemed like nobody knew what was going on at any point of the process, except the delivery driver who was very professional and capable, just very behind schedule.

Have better customer service and provide details on tracking where the ubox is located to the customer. I will not recommend uhaul to anyone it was not a good experience for me.

My stuff arrived on a day early and the U-Haul staff was generally very polite. However, their computer systems are terrible and their internal communication is worse. I was never quite sure where my stuff was until I opened the container and I had to make several calls to get information (usually to no avail) and was regularly tossed between corporate and local UHauls. I also had different UHaul employees call me to schedule my box delivery - after it had already been scheduled twice.

When our storage was moved from the Apache location due to a nearby unit that caught fire, we were charged late fees over and over for 2 u-boxes that barely needed the second one. Auto pay was set up previously and on the phone multiple times yet late fees would be incurred every time. The Apache location didn't give keys to the Fairmont location so getting into our u-boxes was a difficult and time consuming process.

Initial delivery to me was excellent..you picked then up and took back to your facility incorrectly when they should have came directly to my new place .then your driver picked then up without a phone confirmation call. My stuff was still in them (only a few items in each) so I told facility I need my boxes. She brought them back the same day while I was at work. She left them blocking my neighbors driveway. Terrible

Super frustrating trying to schedule a pick up. Tried on two separate occasions and was given the run around. Rented trucks and drove over 60 miles and was unable to pick up my pod. I spent so much money doing that and then ended up having to PAY to get it delivered. My table also arrived broken after very careful packing.

It would be helpful to be able to schedule arrival of your box more in advance. Not knowing the arrival time until day prior or same day makes moving arrangements very challenging. Unsure of when to hire movers or to reserve fright elevator in our building was very hard because we didn’t know when it would arrive. Other than that the service was great!!

This was the worst experience ever. At every possible moment U Haul felled to do was it said. From losing a container, to changing to order in the system with out talking to me, find the missing box then charging me twice. Then after boxes arrive and I have move in then a month later charging me for boxes I have not use in a month. U Haul has a very poor tracking system and even more poor communication system. Every time I called resolve the problem I got pass along from one person to the next to the next to the next to the next to the next. My impression is just keep pass the customer on till they give up. Which I did!!!!!!! But don’t worry I will just be one of those customer that just don’t come back because no one there care about the customer experience!!!!!
