We reserved our truck 2 weeks before the pick up day. We were supposed to pick up our truck 2 miles from our home. 2 days before the pick up day we were informed we'd have to go to another location 5 miles away. The drop off location was very far from our destination. We found another location 3 miles away on our own to drop off the truck.john M.

There was a long line and we had to wait a long time to be helped but as soon as the guy saw line was forming he called his boss. Two other people showed up even the owner on a Saturday morning. When I arrived there was one employee working the desk and a long line of customers. This employee was working very hard to help customers but clearly couldn't meet the needs of the location on his own. Apparently 2 other employees were late because of an emergency at their apartment complex. There was another employee who said he had just started the job. It was clear that he needed more help doing his job than he was able to offer the customers. The employee working the desk was doing both of their jobs. My truck was not in the location shown on the picture, but was in the lot. The new employee was not able to find it and said it was not at that location. I was issued keys to another van that was not in the lot. The third set of keys I received WAS in the lot but had less than 1/8 tank of gas. Upon receiving the van I noticed that the first van was in fact on the lot, however the second employee did not see it. I spent approximately 40 minutes at the store, which could have been less than 10 had the van been in the spot pictured and/or located initially by the second employee. I would not have minded the delay except that I had paid man power from a moving company and they were waiting at my house. I was having to pay them while they waited. I was very appreciative of the employee who was working the desk and eventually the other two employees once they arrived. The mishap could have been avoided had the second employee been trained. I did receive compensation for the gas and a credit towards my charge, however the overall experience was incredibly frustrating, especially on moving day which is stressful as is.Kimberly D.

The poor group than ran that shop had to deal with a huge break in at that location the night prior. They were very accomodating and nice about having to deal with upset customers that couldn't pick up their rentals. I recommend moving that place to a lower crime area. Although thhat may be difficult in California these days.Matthew J.
Customer wait time is too long. Made reservation for 7 and didn't get my truck until 7:30. Figure out a way to get the checkouts faster or staff up. Also, a lot of the same information is asked to be entered at checkout counter as when we book which makes no sense.Amit V.

U-Haul change my appointment 2 hours prior to pick it up, when I booked in advance. The location was farther away and when I picked it up the gas thank was almost empty. The front desk told me if I returned it with 1/4 of a thank they would refund that money. Really bad experience. It delayed my moving out.Joseluis M.

Understaffed. With a reservation, it took me 1 1/4 hours to just get to the counter. Only 2 people working on a Sunday morning @a location doing high volume of rentals. People left mad because of the wait. People went else where or made other arrangements.Jim S.
The day I was scheduled to pick up my rental truck, there was a problem with online check in and apparently the server was down. This was causing a major backup and the line of people waiting to be helped was out the door. The general manager was in to help keep things moving and he exhibited great poise during a hectic situation. He was very communicative and apologetic to everyone in line and was clearly doing everything he could to make the experience more pleasant. Obviously it took a bit longer than expected to get my equipment, but the staff should be commended for their grace under pressure.Mark R.

When I rent a U-Haul I always come to the Florin location I was helped by an employee named Stacy who went above and Beyond he was taking on so many tasks but still was able to help me, when I received the pickup truck it looks like it has not been cleaned, stacy took his time before I left to go ahead and clean it for me he's a fantastic multitasker who has over the top customer service skills, I will continue to keep coming to the florin rd location for my U-Haul rentals because of employees like StacyShakuisa L.

Front desk needs help, more workers and better trained. One worker was on a personal call and had me wait until after he was done talking to them on his cell phone. Additionally he told me to just leave the keys in the truck and gave no receipt. Luckily another worker approached me and asked if he could help with the return and he was able to check the mileage, take the key, and give me the amount and a receipt. So there are good folks there but there are some that clearly need to be trained or need to have a supervisor talk to them.Sarah A.

Make sure your speedometers are intact, for some reason when my trip was only looking about 40 miles your truck said I went 73 and made me pay more than what I expected to even pay for, It seems a little more than suspicious that I went over twice The distance that I did, but there's nothing I can do about a speedometer and what it says.Timothy R.

First the original truck was dirty and not ready so I had to get a different one, however the information was not transferred. Second, they gave my trailer I paid for away and wanted me to pay for another one. Then after ME calling the 800 number they were able to negotiate a different trailer, which costed me 3 hours of my scheduled leave time. Third, while driving to Tacoma, WA the truck had difficulties with the downgrades and I had to call roadside assistance which costed me another 2 hours of my trip. Then when I got to Washington to drop of the trailer the representative said my car was not even safely strapped in or the proper harnesses. Forth, I was charged an extra day of my hotel reservations due to all of the issues with uhal. This has been the most stressful situation I had. Moving is stressful enough not to mention moving 2 states away.Stephanie K.

I used mobile self check in and was directed to find my truck number in the lot. I searched the front and back lots but did not find it. I then waited in a long line for help. Turns out the truck was in a locked area of the back lot. Check out took an HOUR. Check in took half an hour because there was only one person doing check in and out.Tom M.

There was a long wait to rent the vehicle. The vehicle had no gas - enough to go 5 miles. The side mirrors were not adjustable which made it hard to see. After waiting in the return area and no one coming out despite signage to wait in the vehicle, I finally went in and had to wait a long time. The vehicle's interior was also not very clean. They need more staff, even if they make a reservation and check in before going, they have to make a long wait because they don't have staff. I booked it for 1:30 and I arrived at 12:50 to sign and wait for the key on time. But there was only one person. They gave me the truck until 2:10 and I had rented two carts, and when I arrived at my house they were not in the truck, I had to go back to the store to pick them up and waste more time. Before I fill up the gas, I called customer service made sure do I get a refund if It's overfilled. The lady told me I will definitely get the refund at the drop off location by asking the manager. Then I filled the gas fully. The thing is, I was cheated! The manager said that they never do that! I tried to call the customer service again. What I heard is 'the manager was right, we never do that.' What! Seriously!? 'I apologize for that, but there is no refund.' 'That is not what I been told, the lady told me that I will get the refund. That's why I fill the gas full.' 'Maybe the lady is new, I apologize for that, but there is no refund.' 'OMG, this is cheating, you can't do this' 'I apologize for that, but there is no refund' 'Is there any number I can call to report this?' 'No, we are the customer service, I'm sorry, but there is no refund.' OH GOD! Is this really how you guys run the business? So disappointed! The reason I am rating it 5 stars is because the manager had his staff call out on him on 4th of July and he was running the whole place himself. Trucks, storage, phone calls, everything! The General manager name Vernon I suppose that's his name credentials need to be re-evaluated as a general manager he has poor management skills, and needs to go back to school to know how to compose an Eviction letter and learn the protocols. I was serve a 30 day notice and then he locks me out my storage unit which was paid in FULL FOR THE MONTH AND HE WAS LITERALLY HOSTILE TOWARD ME, THEN INSISTING FOR ME TO SIGN IN AND OUT ON TO A SIGN IN SHEET AND THEN DENIED ME OF ACCESS ONTO THE PREMISES ALL WITHIN THE SAME DAY OF AN EVICTION NOTICE HE PROVIDED TO ME WITH MULTIPLE OF ERRORS ON THE EVICTION LETTER. HE NEEDS TO BE DEMOTED IN MY OPINION. NOT ABLE TO SPELL CORRECTLY ON THE EVICTION LETTER HE HAD PROVIDED FOR ME. I DID REQUEST HIM TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE OWNER OF BUSINESS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER, HE REFUSED TO GIVE THAT INFORMATION TO ME AND BECAME HOSTILE TOWARD ME. I DIDN'T APPRECIATE HOW HE APPROACHED ME AND HANDLE THE MATTER WITH ME AS A CUSTOMER. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH YOUR COMPANY EVER AGAIN AND I DID REMOVE MYSELF OFF THE PREMISES THE NEXT FOLLOWING DAY. HAVING ME COME OUT OF POCKET TO RELOCATE AND TO PAY MOVERS TO MOVE ME TO ANOTHER LOCATION. I FEEL I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. I FEEL AS THOUGH HE LITERALLY HARASSED ME FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHEN ASKING ME A QUESTION AND I RESPOND HE PROCEEDED TO BE PUSHY TOWARDS ME, LEAVING ME FEELING ANGER AS THOUGH HE WAS TRYING TO PROVOKE ME TO BE HOSTILE TOWARD HIM AND I DIDN'T APPRECIATE THAT ONE BIT. On sunday, I came to open my storage for the 1st time and unfortunately it was understaffed but Victor did his very best to accommodate every customer that he can when by himself, Victor did an excellent job on providing me his assistance when I have trouble with the key card multiple times but he still assisted me when it was busy and by himself. I advise the company should at least have 2 worker on sunday so that Victor can at least a have break, poor guy was running around doing everything himself with no help. The worse weekend ever. I was there four days in a row. Friday, find out they cut my storage lock and replace it. But, when asked why, one could tell me. Saturday, wasted a lot of time because Victor doesn't know how to communicate. Ordered a Ubox and truck. But failed to tell me I had to pull my own Ubox to my storage. When specifically ask them to drop it at my storage unit 603 when I placeed my reservation. So I wasted 2 hours thinking they were going to drop it off. To find out after asking 3 times when was they going to bring it. Then I wasted another 30 minutes trying to get my U-Box. In which Victor try to charge me for the trailer that the U-box was on. After my U-Box was all filled and ready to go. Because of the 2 and half hour delay the 4 hours I rented the truck for ended up being 24 hours with miles that I didn't plan on paying for. Because we didn't finish until 6:15 p.m. Mind you all my reservations was for 12 p.m. truck was reserved from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Top it off my U-Box sat in an open space in the parking lot in front of the office for 2 days. It was supposed to be picked up and transported to Arden on Sunday the 1st. The next day. When I went back on Monday it was still there and there was no information on my U-Box being picked up at all. Call Chris Trudell with No response. After Isaiah made several calls he was able to help me and get my U-Box where it needed to go. (Arden) Honestly, If it wasn't for Isaiah I would have lost it!!
