Camden was the only employee who was professional and courteous. Everyone else had a 'that's not my job or responsibility' mentality. Additionally the disconnect from your website to the actual locations is atrocious at best. I was guaranteed a trailer at a previous location, and had I not call to confirm I would have wasted hours of my limited time. Not only did they not have a trailer available, the location manager said the 50 $guarantee had nothing to do with him and I could call the 800 go U Haul line but that it wouldn't get me anywhere...I don't know if he was right or wrong about calling since it was a 48 minute wait time. We could have used one more box, but that is really on me not describing all our stuff well enough. The Phoenix side of this went well. The Santa Rosa side left a lot to be desired. There was confusion on what day the boxes would be delivered. In the end, they arrived the afternoon of the right day. One box was damaged. The cord for our chest freezer was hanging out of the box. Someone made a valiant effort to keep the box together and used wood screws and a strap. One of the screws went into our freezer. I have filed a claim, but the freezer was taken away with the box and I haven't heard anything since Saturday. You should ask questions about the toll free number and the service related to it. I needed to keep my rental for 2 extra hours and was told it would be an extra 45,00 $, seemed a little out off line considering the rental was only 19,95 a day. No explanation that was price. If you look at my file in the last 18 months I have spent at least 3 500 $at that store, I wasn't asking for anything for free, I will be going to Ryder or hertz.TIMOTHY S.

I have rented 3 trucks in the past week since moving out of two houses and took a truck to his location instead of the litchfield location. It was an honest mistake since I am so tired from all this moving. They charged me 140 $for the mistake. Plus the first rental I did was at this Location. After leaving the location I called and spoke to someone there and stated that the fuel was not correct. He told me that he would fix it, which he never did. I had to call and wait for customer service for 40 minutes. She was able to fix it. The first two rentals were days apart and never received receipts from the rentals only extra charges. I am very unhappy with my experience this past week. I have rented numerous times and have alway had good service.PATRICIA B.

The strap on one of the front car tires on the auto transport was not put on correctly at the Uhaul location. It came loose during the drive. Luckily my boyfriend saw in the rear view mirror that the car looked to be moving side to side. We had to pull over and the strap was completely off the car's tire.. Lucking he was able to fix it, but it took a lot of time out of our travel schedule, plus it was pouring down rain.Melinda P.

I'll start with the good. The staff was great! Very nice and helpful. The truck however had been smoked in. Smelled like smoke and had cigarette butts. When I returned it after hours it said I was getting billed for fuel even though I filled it back to where it was when I took possession.MICHAEL C.

When the truck ramp broke I sat on hold with roadside assistance for 30 minutes before I decided to just drive up to U-Haul. The lady working there was extremely rude and unprofessional. She basically told me to fuck off. She told me "I don't care how long you sit on hold. That's the only way someone might help you." After I eventually got a hold of roadside assistance and someone showed up hours later the issue was unfixable and we had to finish the job without a ramp. I couldn't even get through to a human on the phone. This was a terrible experience.Desiree W.
This location took over my reservation since the original location no one showed to give me my rental. The truck we finally received hour and 15 min later was fine but had a few flaws that I wasn't aware of looking for. When I got to my destination and opened the drivers side door the seal for the door fell off. I placed it back on which you could tell it wasn't a permanent fix. We we opened the back to load up the truck had water inside. It had been raining really hard during our drive. We where loading and noticed the roof had a hole in it in trailer on drivers side. We used a towel to plug it up since we didn't have time to go back to the new location and exchange the truck. Over all the truck did what we needed but from the start not being able to pick up where we reserved to than little things. I will rent from the location again because the girl that checked me in and the girl on the phone that said her location could help where very nice. But from now on I will inspect the entire truck before leaving. MerciKeri H.

Understaffed and very slow service. U-Haul needs to have more staffing to minimize the wait. Have equipment inspected and waiting for the customer. Waiting about 20 mins to get helped and you then find out that your trailer is not ready to go and the trailer that you are given has to have a side marker light fixture replaced. A long wait to return the trailer. The workers are doing the best that they can.MARK T.

Move went smoothly and was on time as quoted The only negative is getting someone to answer the phone. If a call trips to the national line you can expect to wait at least 45 minutes for someone to answer. Once they do they are very knowledgeable and helpful though. It's a little frustrating.Dave S.

Wayne was the only employee that was in sight because he was in the office helping people with their reservations. All of the employees were hiding. There was a long line for only Wayne. I have rented at this uhaul in bell and grand in Surprise since 2006. I have seen many managers move up to corporate from this location and workers become managers. This location has gone downhill. Tried the mobile pickup, which I have done before a few times, and experienced the worst mobile pickup experience ever. After 45 minutes, I finally went into the store which took another 30 minutes... But the gentleman that helped me was niceJoshua F.
Reserved a unit a month in advance and when I got to the Uhaul, with my truck loaded down and movers who were paid by the hour it took over a hour for them to find two rooms to accommodate for my one and I ended up paying my movers for a free hour. The mobile check-in process took some time. Once everything was submitted, and I was waiting for everything to be approved, it wasn't clear what the next steps would be, so I ended up having to wait in line anyway. Turned out that initial attempts to reach my alternative contacts didn't work out. It would be ideal if alternative contacts could have been verified the day before, when I made the reservation vs while I'm at the facility.Robert H.
I traveled 38 miles and was charged more, also the gas gauge showed full by their reports, i took a picture and showed it was only 3/4 full, i feel i was over charged 29,59 $, the gentleman that checked me in said he would correct the charges and instead shared me 29,59 $ more. I have used U Haul before on Grand and Bell in Surprise Az. This time I used them it was a horrible experience with the storage that I reserved and they sent me all over Phoenix when it was there fault and charged me after they said they would give me an extra day free on the truck I rented and that they would take over 80 miles for the run around they gave me and they did not do that. The manager at U Haul I'm Surprise never came out of his office to help me. Very Poor Service and disappointed. I will be calling Monday morning to argue with them. I don't understand why I had to hound this company for a refund of my deposit. I was never sent a final receipt until today after calling for the 3rd time to even get just a final receipt. I used the stimulus card to pay for this move, and had to pay an extra hundred dollars because I didn't want to use my credit card. And apparently there was 10 dollars worth of damage? No explanation. No communication from the company and I would expect better from a company as old as this one. No matter if I got the deposit back or not, the unprofessionalism I experienced this time is too much. I will do all I can in the future to not use these services again. I'm afraid if I had given you my credit card, would the imaginary damage cleaned out my bank account? This is what people end up thinking about the company once they've done shady business.Shawnda H.

Yes I would like to share my horrible experience with U Haul in Surprise. I rented a U Haul truck from Surprise on Bell and Grand I Reserved a Storage in Surprise they gave me the # to the storage and there was a lock on it. The manager stayed in his office didn't come out to see what was going on. After an Hr in the heat and them trying to figure it out. They were sending me to Glendale. After me bitching and telling them I am not paying for miles going to Glendale when I reserved a storage there at Surprise and there was a lock on it and they didn't know what was going on. The manager said they would take 40 miles off for sending me to Glendale and back When I arrived at Glendale U Haul I was very upset for Surprise U Haul sending me there when I was Moving to Buckeye after I told them I was moving from Surprise to Buckeye. John at Glendale U Haul said why would they send you here if you are moving to Buckeye I said I don't know ðŸ¤·â€â™€ï¸ At this point I'm very upset crying and it's a 115 outside I had a dead line to make needless to say I didn't make it and it cost me. I had to deal with U Haul for 3 hours of B/S run around. I was very upset ðŸ˜¢ by this time for the run around I'm getting from U Haul and in a 115 heat John said they need to take off more than 40 miles they need to take off at least 80 miles for going to Glendale and Litchfield U Haul John said he had no idea ðŸ¤·â€â™‚ï¸ why Surprise would send me to Glendale U Haul John at the Glendale U Haul sent me to Litchfield U Haul. Surprise U Haul gave me the run around. When I returned the U Haul truck ðŸ›» I explained to the girl what just happened. They were supposed to give me 1 day free of the U Haul truck and a month free of the storage that I never got. Now they have charged my credit card almost 200,00 $ I am not happy with Surprises U Haul or the manager for not stepping up and helping me as a customer with this problem. Now I have to go to U Haul and argue with them for over charging my credit card. Not a happy camper with Surprise U HaulJOHN E.

There are a ton of notes on this. Our boxes were supposed to ship on June 4th from Arizona, hopefully beating the intense heat that was coming, because of some fragile items in the boxes. We were hoping the boxes would arrive in Florida before hurricane season started - which they didn't. When the boxes did finally ship, nearly three weeks later (6/23/2021) - 2 days after the original promised date of delivery (6/21/2021) in Florida - nobody could tell me where the boxes were or when they would arrive. We had moving help scheduled and had to change plans with all 3 involved in helping unload the boxes. We did get the boxes on the day hurricane/tropical storm Elsa was about to hit the area. This is completely unacceptable. This is the 2nd time that U-Haul U-Box has botched my moves. We are dissatisfied, to say the least.Sean K.

The facility deserves 5 stars; however, I am reducing it because there were no dollys availableto help move my items like other Uhaul facilities. Fantastic service even post-pandemic and being short staffed. However not everyone understands having to run so short handed. Wayne's team was amazing and I can't believe Dina is still there!! 殺 I will say the gal that was working the counter that evening was NOT very friendly or welcoming to me or the customer before me. We seemed to be bothering her. As a former employee I took pride in greeting all guests warmly despite how my day was going or what was going on in my personal life (and at that time it was in the freaking dumpster) I was very disappointed in her attitude towards us. I imagine it wasn't a one time incident with her. Again, Wayne's morning crew was absolutely wonderful. The only complaint I have is that the billing seem to be all over the board. It seems like the main number I called couldn't answer specific questions about my account and trying to get a hold of the place I had storage two answer specifically about my account and the seemingly unnecessary charges. I, a moving van and four men contracted to unload the truck into the storage unit had to wait for an hour for your computer system and U-haul employees to gain access to the unit. I lost a day of moving help because the elevator had operating issues. The 'manager' said the next day that it was working, but when i tried, it was not. Turns out she lied when she said a repairman came out and it was fixed. Another person said no one was called to come out and repair it. I was sold 2 locks for both units, then found out there was already a lock in each unit, but still charged me for the ones i didnt need. Only 1 elevator for the size of this location is ludicrous. The general manager was phenomenal! After having a bad experience at the location in Laveen earlier in the day, I wasn't sure what to expect. She made the experience of returning the trailer we had rented in Detroit and accessing our free 30-day storage unit there a very pleasant experience. After making online reservation, original unit assignment was 2086 and was locked and unavailable for use upon arrival. Had to be reassigned to another unit, 1119. One week later when trying to access storage unit we were locked out because of billing errors which had to be fixed by on duty staff. That is back to back weeks that we incurred difficulties. I went to the Uhaul office in Surprise on June 14th. The young man sold me a lock and did not tell me to put it on immediately.He did not have me sign a contract, I recived a call from Jennifer regarding the contract. I said I would be in to sign. I never can get thru to the Surprise office. Sat 6=27 another call from Jennifer wanting to know if I had moved out, I hadn't even moved in. Because I did not put my lock on the leased the unit to someone else. So I spent another hour getting a different unit rented and locked up. I feel the service was very poor until I talked with Jennifer face to face. I now have a unit and we are moving items in on Thursday. Your phone service is terrible, Put on hold forever and then you don't talk to who called you and they person you do talk to does not know what they problem is. This has not been a good experience. We were charged for a month's rental and we moved out only a few days into that month's fees. We asked for a pro-rated return and were told they don't do that, call customer service and see what they'll do. We were customers for several years and apparently this is meaningless to U Haul, so should we ever need storage again we WILL NOT use U Haul ever again. Otr trucker with 2 high dollar storage units. Always on time. There was a bank issue that caused a one day delay. Yep! Charged a late fee! Congratulations. You made 30 dollars and lost a customer for life. We will never ever use anything Uhaul again... Period. Friends and family are warned to steer clear.
