KATHY W | Expérience généraleThis facility is in a really bad neighborhood. There were junkies passed out right next to the gate. It was difficult to get in and out of because of how it is set up. We were charged for the month and moved out two days later, but still had to pay for the entire month. The whole experience was disappointing.

patricia h | Expérience généraleDuring the period of time that you stopped doing rodent control, mice infested and destroyed my stored camping equipment. You also decided to disconnect the interior lights of the units. Homeless people were storing their belongings and food there, hanging out during the day with their animals. While I have no hatred towards homeless folks, their food and bedding attracted more rodents and created a bigger danger of bed bugs. Also the transient traffic did increase theft and safety concerns. There were multiple times when the auto-pay caused issues by not going through, and I was assessed late fees that I did not deserve. The rodents and homeless people were the biggest issues, and I have since moved to a much larger and better maintained unit that is approximately the same price that I was paying you folks. So basically, you continually increased prices, while making the provided service worse. Your employees were all great to work with though, and deserve kudos for putting up with everything.

It would be nice if the entrance card swipe machine were placed on a post away from the gate so you could swipe without getting out of the vehicle. Also there was no clear way to terminate without going into the store. Would be nice if that could be done over the phone or online without having to download an app.

Timothy S | Online Move InThe light bulb in the hallway was regularly out. The facility itself was dirty and there were regularly people blocking access to the facility. The staff in the store were friendly, but the young woman who worked in the storage area was not friendly. Also, the golf cart she used blocked access to my room. I found two fentanyl pills on the floor in the hallway to my storage room. If the storage facility was better maintained and felt safer, I probably would have kept my storage room there, but I did not feel safe there.

I rented a space big enough to store things for a 3-4 bedroom home (as indicated by the measurements). I rented a U-Haul truck to move a 3-4 bedroom home. But getting the truck to the unit was the absolute worse experience. I couldn't get the truck as close to the unit as I wanted/needed which increased the amount of time it took to move in. I can only imagine that moving it out will be just as bad.

Two months later I started to receive late notices I contacted the facility and let them know I only needed the one month There was 2 five gallon containers left in the storage that I did not care to pick up Months later they are wanting me to sign a document take picture and send back. Leticia A | Expérience généraleI had absolutely no problems with the storage facility until the fire. I had 2 units that were almost both a complete loss. One unit I had made the payment for on the day that I was told that specific unit was a total loss. Upon attempting to get my monthly rate credited back to me I was given several different answers and pointed towards different departments eventually being told that the manager of the Grant facility was the one to give me the refund. I had already talked to him and he told me to contact the claims department. The claims department only offers funds for the storage unit contents if you are filing through the storage insurance. I will attempt to get my refund again today. I have been trying since Monday. We were also told that our contents for unit 74 would be transferred into a POD and then moved back into the Grant storage facility. I was told by a UHAUL employee that our stuff was moved to Marana. I want to keep a storage unit at the Grant facility. I will also be contacting them in regards to this matter, again.
telly c | Expérience généraleDue to circumstances unforeseen to part from u-haul having rented a unit since i believe. 2009 have observed lots of changes from employees come and go as well as many managers over that span even the change of site access from key gate to the current electronic card which I have some concerns aside from this recent event i have only positive views of all u-haul employees. If in the future need to use a storage company i would choose u-haul. Stephan

I'll rent equipment here again and again because of the staff. Only reason I hesitate to recommend facility is sketchy / homeless characters loitering around storage. Believe one was sleeping in a storage unit.

For that past 3 months the uhaul has been non stop harassing me and my family members saying I need to come get the lock off of a different unit number that is not mine. They're trying to bill me for an entirely different unit than the one I was renting. Now they've sent a $500 late fee abandonment bill for a storage unit number I never rented. Uhaul is awful. They need to be more organized.

I didn't look at the unit before I purchased- -There is zero light -the building smells like a musty, thick pungent rat poison chemical smell - there was a puddle of yellow urine in my unit -when I went to lock it, the hardware was practically falling off the door-was clear someone had tampered with it…not secure whatsoever!!!! I took a video. - theres a big hole in the back fence that someone cut out for entry into the property. -The units themselves aren't secure… the entry doors into the unit building are not locked at night … misleading It was a mistake trusting this location would be decent …I wasted a whole afternoon getting into that unit and I'll be spending a whole other day transferring to a different storage unit facility that is cleaner and safer for nearly the same price The level of filth, chemicals, lack of light, paired with the broken hardware…this storage unit is an abomination.
Amber S | Premières impressionsI made a reservation through the scheduler for Uhaul because I wanted to return the Uhaul to the place I found a storage unit. But the scheduler said they needed the uhaul at the original location I had been assigned, but he offered me a $50 credit to return it. This was not noted and I had to ask for the credit. It seems like the scheduler should have noted that I was due the credit. Also he did not explain that I had to go in to the office and complete paperword for the storage unit and then we did not know how to get out of the unit.

jay h | Premières impressionsThe actual storage area at 2423 N Palo Verde Ave in Tucson, AZ is in the worst condition I've ever seen at a Uhaul storage facility. Had I seen the actual unit prior to completing the storage rental agreement I would not have rented from this location. In addition to being in very poor condition overall, the area is not safe. I've rented from Uhaul in past, 2 separate locations in Phoenix, both were in excellent condition. Uhaul should not have their name on this particular location, in my opinion. If there was another unit in the size needed at another Uhaul storage facility, I would have rented there instead. I will not maintain my rental at this location. The Customer service at the rental office on Grant Road was very friendly and helpful. No complaints about staff, only complaint is in regard to the actual storage facility itself. I cannot recommend the storage facility at 2423 N Palo Verde Ave in Tucson, AZ.

They said called one time and stated they left a message the time they called and left a message my voice box was full and unable to accept messages. They completed a claim prior to me Examining the my unit and failed to fix sliders on the door one could secured and the other one barely had a thin piece of metal still holding it together. And then they put over locks on the door like I haven't paid the bill instead of a circular lock. When I asked the manager why been called they said one email on one call sufficient enough mind you this was 60 days after breaking. I would never recommend your company to any family member or friend to this event. Mind you every time I have visited that store it's not busy

Natasha H | Premières impressionsI paid for the unit in the evening of Dec 16th, after receiving access card, I went to check out the unit, but there was a UHaul lock on my unit, after returning the next day with a load of my belongings, this lock was still on the unit. I went to the "customer service" office, and the employees called store manager to see about removing this lock, and were not able to get ahold of this manager. They stated there is nothing they could do for me. So here we are 3 days after paying and I have no access to the unit, this has caused much stress and actually more money because I have to pay the property in which I'm moving from additional fees all because uhaul is screwing up. Extremely unhappy with my experience so far.

I originally made a reservation at the Bensen Hwy. location online, but they did not hold the reservation. Luckily the Grant Road location had an available location. They were contacted, held the container for me, and were very knowledgeable when assisting me. They also arranged for me to drop the trailer at the same location so I did not have to drive all the way back to Bensen. Please pass along my thanks to your staff.

I had a walk in inside but there was hardly no room in the hallway so after lugging my big long sofa over there it literally would not fit because I couldn't get it in at an angle as it was too long so I had to take iti back home kinda bummed out about that but really I should have checked out the dimensions to get me sofa in at an angle before I rented it .other than that nice helpfull. Also white powder and sticky stuff appeared on floor when i only had dishes. Clothes, and books stored in unit. If i encounter the need for storage again i will return to UHaul

Matthew Q | Premières impressionsI came to U-Haul to have a hitch installed. I was told that the hitch could not be installed unless I remove the spare tire stored underneath my vehicle . According to the staff the spare tire was too big. At that time I understood that access to that tire could only be done by removing everything in the van at the back , lifting up the carpet and using a tool to lower the spare tire . Because I had no place to put all my stuff during the installation I thought that I wasn't even going to be able to install the hitch but your staff informed me that I could Avail myself of your storage rooms for this purpose . So I returned the next day and went through the procedure of renting and then using a storage room because I thought I had to. I am a 72 year old woman and In the Heat of the day had to take all of my stuff out of the van and then later put it all back in. When I picked up my car after the installation the staff did not inform me how to actually access my spare tire knowing that I had the wrong information. There was no reason for me to go through all of that unnecessary work. Access to the spare tire is a very simple process as I found out when I went to replace it. I found your staff to be friendly professional but I'm pretty disappointed. That was a lot of unnecessary work and an extra day well I'm trying to prepare to travel. It was exhausting. Yes I'm pretty disappointed. I did not take it up with them when I found out about the information that have been withheld I just did not have the stamina. I needed to move on. Thanks for the opportunity to describe my experience here

Suzan V | Expérience généraleThe unit is not 8x8 as was told to me when I rented it, the inner dimensions measure 7x7 and there's a post in the center that makes the room extremely hard to use. Also the pin pad on the row my unit is on, on the inside of the facility is not responsive. You can get in, but not out so I had to wait for someone to walk by to swipe my card on the outside pin pad to let me out of the facility. No one was answering the intercom button or the phone at the office. It was a miserable move in experience to put it bluntly, I'll be moving my things ASAP.

My father fell and wanted to move in with me and I didn't want to let another day and another possible injury pass. They helped me reserve a truck and connected me with uhaul moving to provide me with a moving company to help load and unload! It was great!

Man YNo one was there when I dropped off my truck. I had to wait for 5-10 minutes to get someone to return my truck. There should be some sign at the very least indicating that someone has stepped away from the desk.

jiahan lThe woman who rented us the truck was extremely rude.When I asked her how old the trucks were.She said if you don,t like what we have why don,t you just go somewhere else! I would have but we were pressed for time.She gave us a beat up old truck with 177 000 miles and told us to do an inspectio of it. I told her there were so many demts and dings on it I didn,t know where to put them all on the small piece of paper.then she showed me a chart of all the charges we,d be responsible for if there were any blemishes on the truck.WE treated her with mush more respect than she deserved!She should not be dealing with the public at all!!! On a side note the younger woman we returned the truck to was very pleasant.
