There was so much wrong with my experience I need to start a list. 1. Hold times are horrible. And when you are angry that makes it even worse when it takes an hour for someone to answer 2. I started by trying to have u boxes delivered - I got pushed back and forth between the fountain hills and (I think) Surprise locations so many times I finally just cancelled the order. 3. I went in the day before my u haul truck rental to confirm everything would be ready for me...however when I got there the next day my key in the cute little box didn't work. 4. I tried to get ahold of someone - after being in hold yet again for a really long time they finally tell me the location failed to get it ready. 5. The location finally started to have employees come in - I went over and asked if they can help get my key because it was missing...he was not the most friendly person - but he agreed to find the key. 6. (This is my favorite part) after getting the key does he give it to me? NO! He puts it in the freaking box and makes me still go through the darn check out procedure! (After this mind you I am already about an hour behind schedule and the people that were waiting at my house to help me move are just sitting! (Luckily they worked for food and beer and I wasn't paying them by the hour - I like the other guy waiting next to me who had the same problem - but they gave his keys directly to him) 7. Somewhere in here - I think around the time captain personality put the key in the box - After sitting on hold for another 45 minutes...they said they needed to verify with someone other than me. (Why did you not ask me that in your pre set up? Trying to get ahold of someone else to answer a random number w/o prior notice to vouch for me? That is ridiculous) 8. I finally get the key and check the back of the truck...no blankets, no dollys...I got find another guy (young slender kid) wondering around and he was very nice (especially since I was fit to be tied) and kind enough to help me find the stuff that was supposed to be in the truck 9.I think the stand up dolly is there and don't get another one...but guess what it wasn't...it was just the one that came with the truck so out of fear of another charge I didn't use it (but of course you guys charged me anyway! Even after I emailed and said I didn't get it - because I would be damned if I was going to sit on hold AGAIN!) 10.Now I am on my way home to START my move, way behind schedule and I need to be out of ok'd house by 2...I waited on hold the whole 45 minutes back to my house and the poor agent that finally answered got a ear full before sending me to a supervisor (which if course was another wait time. 11.Supervisor Samantha...which by the way had really good customer service skills and said all the right things...she even gave me this nifty number (2866773) that supposedly was going to give me a credit of some sort and she was going to see what more could be done due to the horrible experience I had... 12.guess what? Never heard back, never got another credit, never even had the credit applied from that little number above. Yes I tried calling again by by that time I am trying to get settled in my new home and at some point it is not worth it.. However two months later I am responding to the “how'd we do” link you sent me...two months later the info is still fresh in my mind and I am still angry. I like to think I will never use u haul again and I will tell all my friends and family the same. The truth is u haul knows they are the only game in town and they know it. So they can treat their customers like crap...that is a sad state and I really hope another business comes in the market and forces u haul to have to figure out their service model.

I was concerned about driving a 20' uhaul as I had never driven anything that big but I have been driving for decades. It was easy to drive and very manageable. I had problems with the windshield wipers and found a location in San Dimas where they immediately replaced them with no questions. I highly recommend UHaul.

I called in to inform the staff that I’d be vacating my unit. I would be making the last payment on the unit. The person I spoke to informed me I had until the 14th of the month to get my things out. My card was charged on the 4th, it was not supposed to be. I went in the store to discuss the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done. The lady I spoke to was rude and offered 0 help. I will call American Express and issue a chargeback if this is how UHaul and it’s staff treats customers.

I attempted to get all information into the system online the night before of my request pick up time for the following day. More time was spent at the counter than I had anticipated. I'm hearing impaired and trying to talk with masks on and other barriers is very challenging for me. Make sure you allow at least 30 minutes of counter time before the scheduled pick up time even if you set this up online.

I had my worst UHAUL experience at this location. I had gone online and made a reservation for a a 6x12 trailer two days in advance. I paid in full for my reservation. Upon arrival at the location to pick up my trailer, the lady at the front desk "Katelynn Quiroz" (name on the receipt) and "Katelynn" per her name tag was rude and unwelcoming. She did not greet me or other clients in the store and began talking to me by asking "do you have an appointment". She instantly made me feel unwelcome. When I told her yes, she said that she was unable to find it. I tried showing her that I had valid appointment on my phone for the location that I was at, but she continued to ignore me and be dismissive. She proceeded to create a a new appointment and half way through, when I showed her the active appointment on my phone she replied "it's okay, I'm already half way through getting this one set up". I asked if I would be billed twice and she repeatedly insisted that I would not. After picking up my new reservation, I saw that I was billed twice. I then had to take more time out of my day to call customer service and get the first reservation cancelled. Between being condescending, unwelcoming, and causing me further undue stress during my moving process, I cannot recommend this location. I will add, however, the individual who set up my trailer, who if I remember correctly was "Sam" had provided far better customer service. He greeted me and thoroughly educated me on the "do's" and "don'ts" of using the trailer.

Getting the checkout process quicker

Coming into the service center initially I was early by 10 minutes. I waited in line in the customer area to interact with an employee because I thought that would be faster to get my keys. As I was waiting for over 25 minutes, which made me now late for my reservation, an employee instructed me to use my phone instead and complete the mobile log in. I went outside par the instructions of the employee and on the mobile log in to find the rented vehicle, a cargo van. The van was not in the indicated area on the map but somewhere else which was frustrating. I was able to find it. That is when I was instructed by Mason, when I walked to the cargo van to confirm it's identification number, that I shouldn't use the mobile app but to go back inside and wait. It had now been another 15 minutes putting me well past my 3:30 pick up which was extremely frustrating, because I am mow late for the pickup I had rented the ban for which was time sensitive at 4pm. I went back inside par yet more conflicting instructions from employees. I wait an additional ten minutes since a line has now formed and when I get up to the counter I'm instructed that I need to use the mobile login to confirm my reservation. I told her that I was instructed my mason to come inside since she has to give me the keys regardless. The front counter employee who didn't have a name tag then waves another customer from the line I front of me and tells me she needs to help them instead ahead of me. So to not cause conflict I attempt to use the mobile log in which doesn't end up working. I'm stuck in a holding pattern with “Lee” attempting to verify my information. That's when the front counter employee decides to finally help me and I have to begin the process completely from the beginning with her manually entering all of my information yet again. I am very disappointed since I was early for my reservation, listened and followed employee instructions (even when they were conflicting instructions). Which resulted in me being late and missing the opportunity I needed the van for in the first place. I would like a refund.

This location should check the vehicles more closely. I was moving cross country and given a truck with two bald front tires. The truck was not maintained and needs a front end alignment. Changing tires doesn't solve the problem. These trucks should be maintained not just pushed out to the customer.

Still waiting for bank debt card settlement, it's been three days scince return ing equipment . Absolutely dislike twenty dollar charge for after hours return. Very difficult to find Dropbox for keys. Hours are not well thought out for customers attempting to move on the budget. Five o'clock Sunday closing time not good in addition to 9 o'clock opening time. No love from me and many other consumers. No utility dolly for boxes available, I was the first customer on a Sunday morning albeit 9:00 am . Still waiting on settlement on my debit card. You don't necessarily want me to go to extra gas charges, my pictures disagree with you needing to charge me two extra gallons to the bill. But again your hours of personal availability is not good for consumers. To bad grade F

I never write complaints like this and am very patient when dealing with customer service challenges. We had multiple disappointing challenges with my experience at UHaul, and what concerns me most is how the mistakes made could affect my family's safety and belongings. I paid UHaul to install a hitch in my car so I could pull a trailer. They installed the hitch, but after unhooking my muffler for the installation, they didn't rehook it, so my muffler was hanging close to the ground for half of our trip (and scraping on some curbs when we'd drive over them). We had to stop halfway on our trip from Arizona to Ohio, and delay valuable time to get the muffler secured properly (the technician, in Amarillo, Texas, that eventually secured it saw the obvious problem and was concerned about if it affected other areas under the car). The road side assistance woman we talked to on the phone made it challenging for us as well... after giving the details about the muffler and the hitch installation, she said UHaul would not help us attach the muffler, to which I said “if UHaul unhooks our muffler to install a trailer hitch and fails to re-secure the muffler after the installation, shouldn't UHaul be the ones to re-secure the muffler?” She agreed and helped us find a location. The first woman who helped me in picking up the trailer in Scottsdale (Katelynn) was not welcoming at all and was overall uninterested and unfriendly, though I was very patient and kind to her. Even though they had over 8 trailers in the size I ordered there, she gave me a trailer different from the one assigned to me in the paperwork, and the trailer she gave me had a bunch of tape on one of the top front corners on the outside, and a bunch of duck tape (that looked distorted by water) on the inside of the trailer in that same corner, which showed signs of a water leak in rainy conditions (which I didn't know about until after she attached it and told me to go). After hooking the trailer up she checked that the indicator lights came on when I turned on the car, but I had to beg and convince her to watch the lights for a true test of the blinkers (after I tested both blinkers she walked away, so I didn't get a full test of breaks and headlights with that trailer). She also didn't check the order and told me to go, though didn't give me the moving dolly I had paid to rent. Once I decided to double check the trailer before driving away (filling out the equipment verification text UHaul sent me), I noticed the trailer was not the correct one and noticed the taped corner water leak area, as well as that the dolly wasn't in the trailer. I went back in and was assigned to a different woman, and when I told her the trailer was not the correct one and had a leak area, the original woman (Katelynn) said “oh, yeah, can you update that new trailer into his paperwork,” to which I reiterated that it was taped up in a corner showing an obvious leak and that I would like the original trailer I ordered, or one in full working condition. I was expecting a much better experience from UHaul, especially because the stakes of not being served well affect my family's time, belongings, car, and safety. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement.

Figure out a way to lift the trailers when hooking them to the ball. One person couldn't lift it high enough and the other person slipped when lifting it and the hitch hit my truck. I have yet to receive a call regarding resolution and never an apology from anyone including the manager.

Every time I rent a truck from this location, the service seems to get worse. Now they've gone to a phone app for check out and I had to go around the truck in the 100+ degree heat and take photos of all the damage to the truck before I left. Why wasn't this printed so I could compare and only add if any were missing? A pain to do this and hot outside. Not happy.

Checkin was redundant, as I had already entered all pertinent information when I rented thru my account. Woman behind the counter said she had to call my phone to make sure it was a good number. I guess that annoyance - and first time event - can be overlooked. However, she then tells me that the truck is not at 1/4 tank, that I must fill it to 1/4 tank upon return and then shows me that there is a credit on my temporary statement to cover the extra gas expense. Guess what WASN'T on my final statement? In addition to the unnecessary time spent checking in, I was told I had to move my car and park it on the street. What?!? There were plenty of spaces in which to park on the lot. I wish I would have gotten the young gentleman's name who checked me out because he was the only star at the entire establishment. I will avoid this location at all costs.

I have been to this facility on several occasions when staff are being berated by the manager. My last experience was the owner arguing with another staff - possibly his wife. Extremely uncomfortable to listen to these dialogs. One time is understandable but on almost every time I was in the office there were verbal dialogs I DID NOT want to hear.

I was told that storage closed at 8pm but when I arrived with my items at 7:30pm the storage was closed. My friend had to come and put my remaining items in his car. I was moving out of my apartment and that seriously messed up my whole day. I only rented the storage because of the hours of availability. I have to have surgery in 3 days. My suffering from fatigue and multiple trip to storage is a major inconvenience. Plus I had to leave my stuff in cars parked overnight.

Where do I begin with MY ENTIRE EXPERIENCE with a UHaul was a nightmare!!! Starting from my very first encounter with the woman who quoted me my move was to be 1,400.00 which included: Plenty of pads, a dolly the car trailer, the drive from Colo to Scottsdale AND TWO GUYS TO HELP LOAD UP THE TRUCK!! After arriving at the UHaul in Highlands Ranch I was THEN TOLD “ NO, we didn’t have two guys for you, THATS SEPERATE DEAL”!!!!!!! When arrived here in Scottsdale.... DID NOT GET THE SIZE STORAGE SPACE WHICH EOULD HOLD STUFF FROM A 20 FOOT TRUCK and I HAD TO PAY FOR AN ADDITIONAL SPACE!!!!!! THEN WHEN CAME TIME TO PICK UP MY ITEMS, HAD TO DRILL OFF THE LOCK TO OPEN THE UNIT AFTER THEY TOLD ME THEY COUKD DO THAT !!!! D E B A C A L E the entire experience!!! NEVER AGAiN WITH UHAUL!!!

The Scottsdale road location was the absolute worst, all other times were this location and I always received good service. Except this time... A very elegant gal named Royal escorted with me to do a final walk-thru, for moving out of a storage unit. She was kind and helpful and lots of fun to chat with. Likewise she was smart and offered creative assistance, while I waited for a moving company to load one last piece of furniture. She made me feel special and welcome! This was a great experience for all of the time we rented except the last day. I went in to close the account for my mom. My email and phone number were the contact information but the unit was in her name. I was told I would have to bring in my mom to show her ID to close the account. I explained my mom was in a senior facility 60 minutes away and this would be a huge problem. Basically I was told they didn’t care. So I drove all the way across town and back again with my Mom. Walked in and was then told we don’t need to see her drivers license!!! Instead of being contrite, I was met with laughter and the offer of a water! I know we were no longer clients, but you took a pretty good experience and turned it into a terrible experience. Really terrible customer relations!! I would not recommend this location to anyone and a different approach to the bad situation would/could have made all the difference.
