I was very happy with almost all of my experience. The movers and box containers arrived early and were finished early on the arrival date. The communication with all parties was great. I was contacted a couple times to schedule the delivery of the boxes at my new location and they were on time as well. I am only frustrated that a few things arrived damaged, specifically a brand-new and pricey bed frame had a piece broken and was very scratched up. We have rented from here 3 times in the past few years and every time when we get the bill after drop off - I have been overcharged. Once was $300+ more than it should have been and this time was only $10 but it just shouldn't happen. I'm not sure why I keep going back other than it's the closest location for what we need.Trent L.
The location is clearly understaffed, and there is a large delay in paying the cashier for your rental, and having it connected to your vehicle in the back of the facility. The manager, whose name I believe was Sofia, was extremely helpful and doing the best she could with a limited staff and many customers.Reid J.

I had an awful time at the St Paul location on Universityâ€"first off they said my reservation was for Thursday when I showed up on Fridayâ€"I called the university location 2 times to change my pick up dateâ€"and I also needed to down size my trailer, but the gentlemen said not once but twice that when I show up Friday I can change the trailer then cuz we haveâ€ soooo many trailers availableâ€. So I show up they say no trailers available they have to send me to como locationâ€"I drove to come and specifically ordered a 5x7 utility trailer with rampâ€"so I proceeded to back up to the trailer with the rampâ€"but Mike said â€œit's not that one pull up behind this oneâ€ I said Mikeâ€"that one does not have a ramp, he said yes it does and pointed to the â€œ tailgateâ€ and said that is the rampâ€"I said no that is what they call a tailgateâ€"he said you will have to go back and change the order â€"by that time I was so upset I just wanted out of Uhaulâ€"very disappointedâ€"I tried to be so proactive by calling twice before pick up so it would be a smooth processâ€"nothing but!!scott D.

My truck was parked in, so I wasn't able to access it for over an hour after my scheduled time. Also, I paid for and reserved a moving dolly and a utility dolly that weren't available when I arrived, even though the customers after me in line got access to one. The guys on site were helpful and did their best. Mainly seems to be communication & understaffing issues, having one or two more people would probably have made a big difference.August M.

More staffed registers so that the line to pick up the truck goes fasterEmily H.
This store was fine. However as a company U-Haul could improve. We made a reservation for a truck and the location was moved to 2,5 hours away from us with disregard to the price we would need to pay in gas to get it to our loading place. Then the customer service on the phone said the could not reserve a closer truck that WE FOUND on the website. We had to cancel it the order the other truck. The next day the new trucks location was moved on us also. We even made sure to heave the reservation guarantee. Then I also reserved the truck for an extra day. The next day I saw thextra day was not on my reservation but I was charged for 2 EXTRA DAYS. I also spent the equivalent of a day on the phone with customer service to straighten everything out. Overall I don't think I could recommend U-Haul to anyone. I was doing a cross country trip and this was a massive pain to deal with.Robin P.

Truck was clean and ran perfectly during our run to Chicago. Staff is always sharp friendly and helpful.John H.
The staff don't care about your experience at all. There's loud music playing, you get sent to two or three counters before some incompetent boob blows vape in your face before fucking up your order. They gave me a truck with 38 miles before empty. Granted, I only had to go 15 round trip, but I doubt they considered this whole drooling over the keyboards they were smacking with rocks while trying to adapt to life in the 21st century. These cavemen (and women) cannot be trusted with fire or the wheel, let alone a business that revolves around motor vehicles. I hope and pray to whatever deity may be listening that no son or daughter of God has the misfortune of ever doing business at this shack in the woods they call UHaul ever again.Nicholas M.

I was exhausted and try to reach them to ask he said we are out of the clock. Worst experience with renting a UBox from UHaul! Will never rent or even recommend it to anyone. First of all, my ubox was not delivered to the Downtown Raleigh location. I spent hours and 2 whole days to figure out why my box was not at Downtown Raleigh location and it was at Wake Forest. Awful communication led to me having to pay $188 to just have it delivered to my dad's home from Wake Forest which my UBox was at. Wake Forest then proceeded to not be able to deliver it for 10 whole days so I waited and then was not even able to pick it up before the 29th of July and kept pushing back the dates and hence I was charged another month for using the box. I have screen shots where Uhaul deliberately changed dates and location so they will not be held accountable for all the mess. ON TOP OF THAT, Downtown Raleigh's UHaul location charged me for storage when the UBox was at Wake Forest and was delivered by Wake Forest. Don't offer service if you can't have a system or staff to handle issues that arises.Chingy P.

My 24 hr rental was delayed five hours, and that time was not added on to the next day. The truck also did not have the dolly that was included in my rental agreement and I was told that they were out of dollies and I was out of luck. Will never be using UHaul again, I recommend the same to everyone else. There was no attempt to make things right.Steven J.

I went there and didn't know exactly what I needed for my vehicle and rental unit. I told them exactly what I paid for already. I was only given a key for the vehicle and almost left and had to go back in and ask about the unit. They realized they did not give me everything I needed so then I had a key for the unit. That night I went to the storage space and there were homeless people roaming the indoor spaces. I did not know how to find or operate the building, no one was answering calls for assistance. The person at the counter was not pleasant or helpful, I had to walk two blocks in an industrial area to get my truck. When I got my truck, it was supposed to have 1/4 tank of gas in it but it was below the empty line. I was afraid i might not even make it to a gas station. I drove the truck less than 20 miles and ended up having to put $70 worth of gas in the tank and was only given a $30 credit. The lack of customer service is palpable at this uhaul location. I actually felt very taken advantage of. It may be better at other locations but I will not ever find out. Never again, uhaul.Jency J.

1) Truck did not work, not even start on the lot --- check equipment before handing to customers. Cost me 45 minutes 2) Don't hand customer empty truck: I had 30 miles left in the tank, not knowing if this measure is accurate on an old truck makes this a scary experience. 3) Don't charge customers for gas they did not consume: I was charged for 2 gallons yet remaining mileage in the tank was 1 mile more when I returned. So easy to check, you'd think there's purpose to the theft. 4) Respond to polite and reasonable requests for addressing these issues not by hanging up after having a customer for 20 minutes on hold.Arnd S.

The staff just didn't care about customers and kept us waiting while they talked about other business. I declined insurance but he tried to slip it in any way on the credit charge. Employees take up all the parking spots so you need to block loading bays and walk to the entrance. It's one of the largest locations I've seen. Too bad nobody takes pride in their work.Daniel B.
There is a glitch with the receipt system or the order system. I keep receiving receipts even though I haven't paid for anything. There are also several unexplained charges on my account. One for the initial full amount which I have already paid and have a receipt for. There is also a rental charge which I cannot choose to pay, but shows up on my account as unpaid. Roderick Cason (I hope I spelled that correctly) made my move in and drop off of equipment as easy and efficient as possible. I had had problems with my reservation due, I believe, to errors made in Winnipeg, where I picked up the truck. I was frustrated by the additional stresses those problems caused en route to Minneapolis. Roderick's professionalism and sincerely caring attitude turned my mood around within minutes. All staff members I've interacted with over the past few days have been very willing to help - in particular Lisa - when navigating busy phone lines, answering questions, dealing with stressed-out customers, and new employees who appear to be still in training and not yet "in the know." I would recommend telling new employees to communicate to customers that they will help FIND the answer vs. the "I'm new" and throwing their hands up in the air. 24 hour access like the store outing crystal would have been nice since I had a smaller unit here and was paying the same price as I was there. That and the lighting kinda sucks when the light on the rows are on it's still way to dark in the units but what sucks is how short the timer is on them. Having to go out of the unit and jump around just to trip the motion light was very inconvenient. Because of the storage place a Los things they kept cutting the locks and changing the locks I think it's a scam so they can get paid for the locks they lose the keys when they change the locks so you'll have to buy new ones with your upgrade it make you pay more for locks. I was assisted by Josiah and Lisa. They both went above and beyond to help me choose between UBox and UStorage options. I am from out of state (Las Vegas NV) so this decision was stressful for me, but they made it easy for me to come to a firm and resolute decision. Josiah even lent me his personal tool set so I could socket wrench apart some of my pieces for storage. This is by far one of the cleanest UHaul Storage facilities I've ever experienced. Every staff member I encountered seemed happy to be there and eager to help. I particularly appreciated the loading dock option and the 24 hour access indoor garage loading option to keep me out of the 5 degree snowy weather. Simply awful behavior by current manager. After his disparaging attitude and behavior toward me I said that he was being patronizing to me. He glared at me and walked away despite not finishing transaction. I reapproached him and he said that I had called him a name. Not so. He then told me to leave and return if I chose. I calmly but assertively requested his manager's contact info. He refused. Men in line looked shocked. I went to my car and returned a few minutes later. There need to be clear signage in the building regarding after hours access. We were locked out during our move in with our unit still open inside with belongings in it. It would have been nice to been given either an announced warning the doors would be locking or at the very least have the time the doors lock posted on the access entry. I do realize that the hours are in the email that is sent but after spending 2 straight days moving a lot of people are not going to read through the email they just want to get finished with their move. Other than that the the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the location is clean and security seems to be a priority. I moved out on 7/20 then was charged for my unit that was billed on 7/27 as well as a late fee and an embarrassing letter stating that I didn't pay my bill was sent to my emergency contact. Keelin(I'm not sure if this is how you spell his name) at the St Paul store on Highway 280 was totally awesome. He helped me clear up a mistake I made with a smile. He was patient and kind and very supportive to my needs. Also overhearing the interactions with each person that works in this location was caring, nice and seems like the other customers were enjoying their experience as well.
