They didn't seem to know what they had on hand or where. Agents carried on their conversation while I stood at the desk waiting to be acknowledged, as the only customer in the facility. I made a reservation online, however the website wouldn't let me pick a drop off location near my house, only ones near garland, and when I asked the agent at the desk to fix that, he checked his work schedule (not sure why) and said “I can't, I'm the only one that will be here tomorrowâ€. I'm not sure what that had to do with it but it seemed he meant if I dropped it off at a uhaul near my home in south Dallas he would have to go get it, and either didn't want to, or uhaul has it so short staffed there that he couldn't. So I had to drive 40 minutes back up to garland from south Dallas to drop it back off, when there's a uhaul place less than a mile from my house. I was simply picking something up in garland and needed to transport it to Dallas. Overall the facility was fine, it just seems like the people working there didn't want to help me, didn't care if I gave them my business, and didn't care about what I was trying to accomplish or telling them. Either they are bad employees, or more likely, they are overworked from a lack of adequate staffing. I'm not sure I'll be using uhaul again.

Michael S.The person who checked me in had no idea what he was doing. He ask for information that was set up at the time we started cooperate usage. Make us late for our pickup. Claim something was wrong with the last usage of a truck but had no cautionary notes to back up anything was blaming us with nothing to back it up. Thanks to one of the managers upon return we were able to resolve the issue.
Michael J.make sure the trucks have working AC/Heating, More staff on the weekend to help with checking in/out and helping with the inspection of the trucks when you have questions or concerns. The walk from turning the vehicle in to the front door is ridiculous. I ask to speak to the Manager but he never came to speak with me.

Thomas G.Start off my truck was neither level one or level two inspected. The washer fluid was not in the vehicle and the coolant was low. Then I got there at 4:25 with my reservation at 4:30, I walk up to the counter with no line and they start my reservation. Then it came time to assign a truck for me and she told me there was In Town 10ft trucks but the keys were not in the wall for them. She assigned me a random one for the time being and said she would help us find the keys. Then her manager Phillip came in and he said to her to give a 15ft truck. I respectfully asked not to receive a bigger truck because of gas mileage and drive ability, plus we didn't need the extra room or the ramp. After that Phillip came in with a 10ft key and gave it to the lady. They then pulled up the truck and we went out to it. I personally checked the vehicle then realized the vehicle had not been properly inspected but by now the time was 5:02. Then I realized that the odometer was wrong and that we could have been charged 7 miles more than we drove based on the contract. I could not verify the vehicle because my link had expired from the long wait. I went inside to let Phillip know my mileage was wrong. I asked him to leave it as a note in the contract so that we could leave before 45 minutes at the location passed. He told me that it would be easier if I just did the link and he resent it to me. It was not easier for me. It was easier for him. And then I told him that the vehicle was clearly not inspected and he asked me to “hold and he would check itâ€. I told him it's okay because I had to go. Then I was off on my way. About ten miles down the road my check engine light came on from I am sure a problem that could have been prevented from a properly done inspection. Because I drove the vehicle this far and only had about half my trip left I just continued on. I got to the location at finished my rental and turned in my rental but couldn't do the after hour check because of technical error. The lady who rented out my truck to me came and checked it in. When she asked if anything was wrong with it we told her about the check engine light turning on. She then told us how this truck should be at the shop today and how they had it down for repair but they in downed it to give it us. I told her about the lack of fluids and she said that is why it needed to be at the shop but fluids should be replaced every time the truck is returned. This is ridiculous. I was out in danger by this whole team and The Uhaul Company. I am sure there are great Uhaul's with fantastic teams, but this one is not one of them. This Uhaul location I would never recommend and do not plan on doing business with them again. The problem came from management and Phillip down to the employees and although they seemed to be trying they could not succeed without proper trying. This trip to Uhaul was absolutely terrible.
Reece K.It was not the fault of the location... I rented a trailer on the last day of the month (which happened to be a Saturday), and the massive swarm of people (nationally) on U-Haul's website essentially crashed the server. Friendly staff, and an immense amount of equipment for usage.

Aditya W.Estimated milage at time of rental appears to be a rip-off. You should have a flat milage charge. I should not be penalized on the number of trips I have to take. This can cause overloading the vehicle, which is a safety concern.

Emily F.I've rented three times form Uhaul recently. One Motorcycle Trailer, one Tow Dolly, and one Auto Transport trailer. The equipment has always been fine. But the locations are terrible. I make a reservation ahead of time, and I check in early, but I still have to wait in a long line. The employees cannot process customers in a timely manner.

Nathan W.Agent assigned a truck for my rental, but couldn't find the key. She sent me to the lot mgr, but he couldn't find the key. Had to go back to the counter to switch to another truck. Too many hidden fees, plus, I hold 2 doctorate degrees, but it is difficult to understand rates and fees and "got you's." $80+$.79 per mile for 103 miles ended up costing me $240. What happened to straight forward pricing that the average person can understand? Felt like planned confusion, gross overcharges, and consumer fraud... my conclusion was slipshod service... cut throat pricing, and trucks that are not well maintained. I felt like I was dealing with a monopoly the certainly dominated the truck rental business, and we don't have much choice.

Hakim N.I was unable to use the app to drop off my trailers and had to leave them and come back. The app would not take a picture of my ramp trailer. it also would not let me check in the car carrier by itself. When I brought the van in after hours, the app overrode the camera settings and put a flash so the reflection obscured the mileage. I was very unhappy with the after hours checkin.

Rowena T.I made a reservation for a 10 ft truck. When I arrived they had no truck for me. I was told there were several reservations for 10ft and they were given on first come first served. Then why reserve? There were trucks on the lot but no keys. It took almost an hour to resolve the issue. I had to take a 15 ft truck on a one way rental and drop at another location. it actually worked out better for me price wise.

Being thrust from four different U Haul locations, to be promised that my gas mileage will be $.79 with contract in hand to find out it was changed to $.99 upon my final receipt was alarming and upsetting also to be lied to when I was only a few minutes late from maneuvering this 15 foot truck that was pushed on me because you guys were out of 10 foot truck that I requested with my original reservations. Then, you charged for an extra day, that I was told by management that would've happened. The entire experience was unprofessional and upsetting and I still overcharged though I was told my mileage and extra day would definitely be reimbursed per misunderstanding. That was a complete lie as well. I will be filling a complaint, if I'm not reimbursed as I was told by management!

ISMAEL C.I was called and asked to tow a trailer in exchange for a discount on my own truck rental. Then I was called and told they did not need me to tow the trailer. Okay, fine. But the trailer was still listed on my contract, and the Manager said there was no way to take it off. Even if it did not have an equipment number listed as the Manager said was required if I was actually taking it, I did not like having a contract stating I had that equipment if I wasn't actually taking it. Manager seemed highly annoyed that I was asking questions about my contract, which should be welcomed as I am renting a vehicle worth tens of thousands of dollars that I could be held liable for. I also was called in the days before my reservation and told that my reserved truck was not available at the location date/time I selected - okay, fine, again - and switched to this location. When I arrived, they did not have a truck ready and had to pull one that they were using to move trailers/dollies around the lot with. I understand that UHaul rentals are a very fluid situation and people can keep equipment longer than they had reserved it for, but this seemed very unorganized and did not give me any confidence in the company.

When asked to show where the uhaul truck is, actually direct the customer to the correct direction, not the complete opposite direction. if they ask for you to personally show them, actually show them instead of saying no. Why say no when there is literally 2 of you? The people who were working on 4/4 around 5pm are rude.

First issue my lock was change and like I said no one knew what happened, so they gave me another lock. Second issue I was told led once I got an email asking me to give feedback on my move out (which was a surprise to me). So I called and the lady told me that I moved out and into another locker which was not true so another issue with someone. Again nobody knows what happened smh. So they moved me back into the original locker and then they go up on the locker like it was my fault. They just went up the same month this happened. I have never been late and some months I even paid early I guess the only thing I did wrong was paying my Locker fee on time smh. To this day no one has contact me about this issue. I'm really disappointed with the service I've received. On the other hand The assistant manager did do what he could.

When I moved out there was a unoccupied vehicle in front of the ramp and I could not access my unit. The office staff advised that it's normal for homeless people to sleep in their storage units and vehicles and that they couldn't do anything about it! I was out an hour with my movers (I'm paying them by the hour) before the homeless guy returned to his vehicle and moved it. Do not rent here!!!

Was unable to get into the storage unit several times because the key cards were not working and workers took forever to open the gates. Several staff were rude and there is always a long wait. Storage hours are not long enough or fair unless you pay more for 24 hour storage. this was a horrible experience i will never use this company again the only reason uhaul stays open is because there are few storage companies around. Customer service call center is also terrible to i called to make a payment on my storage unit the worker stated she processed my payment well turns around she didn't and I had to pay late fees. I have nothing nice to say about a crooked evil money hunger company.

Amelia B. | Expérience généraleThis was a terrible experience overall. I went to my unit to take off the lock and officially move out and what should have taken 5 minutes took over and hour. There were uhaul customers with moving trucks in the driving lane at the facility I was in blocking the exit. I was unable to get out of the facility and they refused to move. I tried to call the customer service team at the specific office I was at and they apparently do not have a direct line so I was talking to some at uhaul "corporate" that was 100 % unhelpful. He was trying to get ahold of the workers on site, but was unsuccessful. We stayed on the phone for over 30 minutes in silence while he "waited". I was unable to find another exit for me and my daughter. She was starving, had a dirty diaper, and was screaming during the entire time because what it thought was going to be a few minutes was an hour. Completely unacceptable.

My experience was horrible and I would never use them again or advise anyone else to use them either. Actually want to seek legal services for my situation. It states the facility is open 24 hours, but that's only if the keys are available for your unit and not off property with the manager. I was never given an explanation as to why the manager Vanessa had my unit keys in her possession off duty. Very unprofessional place of business and poor customer service. I took off work to move, hired movers, and got a I haul to move just to be told to wait until Monday because the manager was out due to a family emergency. I understand things happen, but what I don't understand is why my unit key wasn't there? Why she took it with her? I went to the facility three times and all three times they were not there. Why did she not return them? Why couldn't staff remove lock? Why did I have to wait to retrieve my belongings?

In other words, your storage is not worth it.

Their are no lights in the unit, so I used my phone light. My phone ended up falling and breaking the screen. If there was ample light, I wouldn't have had to use my phone, and the screen wouldn't have cracked ($200 break). When moving in, there were several loaded trailers sitting in the lanes to park in. Made it very difficult to park the 20 foot truck I rented. Why did those trailers not have a storage? They were just sitting in the way. I won't be back to this storage or rent trucks here ever again. Very bad experience all around.

Apparently the clerk forgot to have the lock taken off. She was nice but trying to help to many people at one time. We had to bring the Uhaul to my mom's house until the next day. We paid 5 people to help load and unload for nothing. We tried calling the General Manager but she wouldn't answer, according to her, her phone was uncharged. We only needed the storage unit for 2 weeks but had to pay for a month. The GM did let us have the truck all day today and a free lock.

He was helping two customers at a time, as well as directing the staff on where to go and what to do. The lady in the green shirt could have learned a thing or two from him. He was so nice that I even got a storage unit from him after being quoted a cheaper rate else where. Someone give this guy a raise! The check in process was also smooth. I hope to come back to this location for future business as long as Phillip is on shift :)

I was harassed if I was late on my payment even a couple of days even though I had the storage unit for over a year. Every time I went to the storage unit in person I was greeted by the worst customer service known to man with angry attitude workers it's just disgusting. Uhaul is around more and may be more convenient but that shouldn't be a reason to treat customers terrible.
