I waited 35 minutes to try and return my truck. I finally gave up and left and came back 2 hours later. Considering the drop off only took 5 minutes when it finally happened, I shouldn't have had to wait 35 minutes the first time.

The initial experience to rent was flawless. The return not too much. I rented a 15 foot truck to haul a 12 foot pew. Nothing else. On return, they wanted to charge me extra $5 for use of the dolly inside the truck. I didn’t know there was a dolly, I didn’t want a dolly but they said I broke the seal on the dolly. The female I initially dealt with said while walking away, I’m not going to deal with this. I’m calling the manager. The manager repeated that I broke the seal so I used the dolly. I said I broke the seal which meant I used it. I told them I broke it because the pew wouldn’t fit otherwise. All this aggravation for a measly $5. What gives? My issue is with the female who checked the truck. Also it was very clear on the sign to stay in my vehicle. Sitting there 10 minutes so I went to the office. 3 employees sitting around andmobody bothered to get out? Not good.

I have rented a lot of vehicles and the staff in Whitter treated me and my family better than anyone could expect. We had a vehicle rented from Budget but they treated us so bad and gave us no truck and told me to look elsewhere. You staff jumped in and we left with a truck. A++++++ service.

The Whittier location was able to help me out after the Location in Pico Rivera for the third time has given away my trailer the day of my rental. I don’t understand the purpose of making a reservation, and calling to confirm my reservation, confirming with the manager (mike) and when arriving there was no trailers available.

I had a half dozen blankets on my online order, and they were not in the truck when I opened the back. When I returned the truck a woman was inside and her kids were using the display boxes like a playground. One had climbed into a wardrobe box on display and was screaming at his sister and banging the side of the box, and his sister was screaming back banging the outside of the box. Staff said nothing to the mother. I own a company, and I know potential liability when I see it. If her child were injured in some way from playing in the box, this woman would unquestionably brought litigation against U-Haul. It would have been best handled by a gentle reminder from U-Haul staff to please not let children play in the boxes for their own safety (not to mention that it could irritate other customers).

The particular truck I used ran great! However when stopped at city traffic lights the exhaust was coming into the air conditioning. We had to roll windows down. I'd recommend a full length exhaust system as apposed to an after-cab dump.

Trailer look like it traveled cross-country. Needed a power wash. Any questions towards a U-Haul representative. Was an inconvenience to them.

The gas gauge in the truck has an issue. Had a 1/4 of a tank when I picked it. Then I filled it up . Drove it to two locations about 140 miles. Before I returned to do the return trip the gauge was at a little over a 1/4 again. I stopped and put in another 10 gals to get back. After that the gas gauge said full? 104 miles back. And the gas gauge was at 5/8. I told your location about it and the reply was I guess you helped the next guy out. Pretty poor thing to say when you run a location. I will take my business to another location, or another vendor.

I returned the trailer on Friday afternoon at around 4:00pm, but the return time on the invoice was not recorded until Saturday morning at 6:11am. I WAS CHARGED FOR AN EXTRA DAY!!! NOW I AM SITTING ON THE PHONE WASTING MY TIME TRYING TO GET A REFUND!!!! VERY UNSATISFIED!!!!

My whole move is screwed up because of the lack of equipment and miss-communication between the website, the on-site system that they used and what can U-Haul can actually accomplish. I have used U-Haul on multiple occasions moving from one coast to the other and this is by far the absolute worst experience I've had with U-Haul.

The system was down in Whittier so they could not help me when our automated order using our cell phone would not confirm our rental arrangement. I then called your 24 hr special service who transferred me over and over again to the wrong ppl. Now i was standing in a parking lot, looking at the vehicle i reserved, still waiting approval, and uhaul calls me and i start yo tell the lady on the other end how bad the service is and she hangs up on me! The ppl at uhaul whittier were very kind, but because their system were down they couldnt do anything for me. Time is money snd your failed app cost me precious time from my day. Kenneth Metcalf

I will explain the 4 stars on the first item. The facility was fine, even excellent but the ingress/egress area was congested and narrow. It was accessible from both directions but isn't wide enough for 2 way traffic. The staff was excellent and helpful.

customer service was much better than the Irvine location 16372 Construction Cir E #10, Irvine, CA 92606 who even though I had a reservation at 6:00pm to rent a truck they would not recognize it, because they wanted to go home and overbooked but there were trucks in the lot sitting. Had a sign that said, "if reservation is not met, you will receive $50" and never got a single dime but a head ache. Whittier location, Michael, was very knowledge and understanding and got a us a truck right away

My reservation was for a different location. Upon arrival, the location was closed, and as I was trying to call them I received a call from Uhaul that "the truck I reserved wasn't available at that location, and I needed to drive to a different one a few miles away". In reality, the store wasn't open. When I arrived at the other store, even though I'd gone through the "express checkout", I still had to wait in line, show my ID, etc etc etc (not sure what "express checkout" accomplished). The new location was also out of the picture frame boxes that I needed (minor issue, not a big deal). The staff was very helpful, this is not a criticism of them AT ALL, but rather the Uhaul web reservation process. Would not recommend.
