The delivery service that was contracted to tow my UBox was outstanding. I didn't get to utilize the UBox in a way that I had intended because of the design of the UBox. I was planning to use it for a cleaning/remodeling home project at my townhouse, not for moving. Due to the height design of leaving the box on the trailer wheels, the box couldn't be placed under my covered parking. It was parked away from my unit and it was not convenient to drag items that far away. Also, the UBox door opening made it even more difficult and harder to get in to because it was backed into a space. There wasn't another option and it HAD to be â€œbackedâ€ in to a parking space because the trailer hitch was on the other end. This was no fault of the driver. I couldn't easily put items in to it without walking around to the back of the unit opening, through some rocks. This was my second time doing a similar project and the first tine I rented a â€œpodâ€. In the future, I will rent a pod again and not a UBOX because a pod can easily fit under my covered parking where I can access it freely with the ramp door facing in a direction closest to my home. Plus my security cameras can view it there. The customer service at UHaul is outstanding and I am very happy with Uhaul overall. The UBox just won't work for me where I live due to its height constraints with leaving it on a trailer.terra F.

Trying to charge me for 30 extra miles on the truck that I did not drive. Big difference in cost between 48 miles driven and 18 miles driven. This location will not let up and accept that there's a mistake anywhere. They keep trying to take my money from me. Do not rent from them. My U-Haul had roaches in it, I was refunded and Donavan did his best to help me but I feel I need to be refunded for the entire rental. I had a horrible experience and now fear their are roaches in my belongings. While donavan set up for me to get another U-Haul, I didn't have time with my move to get one. I got home after dropping off the truck and found another baby roach. This is unacceptable and very poor cleaning especially during covid.JESSICA L.

The truck was not cleaned prior to renting - empty soda bottles and broken glass under / around the car seats. Signage still in window. Gas was less than 1/4 full. Customer service was very poor - she was not friendly and made us feel as though we were making her life difficult by being there. I work for U-Haul and she was very annoyed to have to put my SMID in for the discount. Asked me if "I was sure I wanted her to have to start over" to accomodate me. The girl at the counter made no attempt to fix their mistake and get me the truck I requested.When I returned the truck no one came outside to check it back and left me standing in the rain then 4 hours later I get a call from them asking when I was going to return it? This was the worst experience with a company in any field of business I have ever experienced in my 28 years of life. I listed my mom as a driver and apparently she owed 344 dollars from 2017 that I knew nothing about. I tried to make a new reservation with a different friend as the driver but they literally MADE me pay the 344 $to be able to rent from them even though I had nothing to do with it. Simply because my mom happened to owe so they basically forced it out of me. Not sure how this was even legal. Not to mention my first reservation they messed up. Said the u boxes would be delivered on the 17th and picked up on the 18th. Next morning they called and said delivery would be 18th and pickup on 19th. Totally unacceptable. Had to cancel it and make new reservation for a truck and different storage option. Then after I'd loaded the truck I was on my way to storage with my friend who I'd already paid to help me unload when they told me that they "weren't sure how I was able to book the 10x5 climate in the system because they actually didn't have one available." Again completely unacceptable. They offered a 10x10 non climate. That was their terrible solution. They said they'd try and find one for me at a different location but they didn't. Instead they just hounded me to get the truck back 12 hours early than I was told I'd have to bring it back. Also when I got to the place it was the wrong location even though thats where it said to go. So I get to the right location and when I tried to sign in on my phone it wouldn't work. Couldn't find location even though i turned location on like it said to. Then on my mom's phone the pictures wouldn't load. Then finally on my friends phone it worked but only after being on hold once again for about 45 min (every call was atleast a 30 min wait) they said I had to stand right outside the door for it to work. I have no idea how uhaul is even still in business given the incompetence I experienced just trying to rent a truck and storage. Since they didn't find a storage for me I had to go to public storage which was a much much much better experience. I recommend public storage and budget moving trucks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY they will screw you over every way possible. Anything that can go wrong will. Not one step didn't have an issue. It was the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen from a big company. I normally would never ever complain about anything or write a bad review about any company but this experience was the most insane thing I've ever experienced in my life in regards to poor customer service and general incompetence when it comes to executing what I paid them to do. Even the people on the phone were insanely rude. Never using uhaul again and I'm going to dedicate alot of time to letting as many people as possible to never use them again so they can avoid the NIGHTMARE that is uhaul.Kevin W.

This is hands down the worst storage facility experience I've ever had. Staff wasn't helpful. Are storage door was really damaged and when we told them they just ignored it. Also my storage was broken into and nobody ever really helped out. When I called corporate to find out the status of my situation. They had not been informed of what had happened. Apparently the employee that reported the incident never properly informed corporate about the incident. I'm very disappointed in how uhaul chose to handle this situation. It appears to me that this was a inside job because whoever broke into my storage knew my code and only targeted my unit. No other unit was broken into. Regarding the Mcclintock storage: NEGATIVE STARS for management communication. I had a storage locker for my child who attends ASU. I was driving through Tempe to collect the stuff and return home. All I wanted to know was if my gate card had a numerical code in which I could use if the card did not work. That's all. A thirty second phone call. I called the McClintock phone number three times, each time on different days, at different hours as it said while on hold they were "busy". Really? That busy? They couldn't answer it and say we are slammed busy, we'll be right there to help you. Each time I was on hold for more than 15 minutes. NO ONE picked up or picks up the phone. After the 15 minutes of holding I was then transferred to a national call center who told me they left messages for the manager or employees at Mcclintock to call me back. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. NOT AN EMAIL. NOT A TEXT. NOTHING. It's always funny how a business is happy to take your money but when it comes time for customer support everyone just happens to be busy. If I was late on my payment, managers/employees find the time for late fees and collection centers. My final time I called, I stayed I hold yet again for yes, you guess it 15 minutes. And yes, I was transferred one more time. This time though it was to Neferti Hernandez. She took my information and even emailed and texted the McClintock manager to contact me through email, phone or text. Once again. NO ONE did. They couldn't give me 30 seconds of their time. Now If I were to give Neferti Hernandez a rating: 50 STARS. Yes fifty. I hope this email or response finds a way to her manager as she deserves praise. Uhaul is beyond lucky to have a polite, considerate, friendly, responsible person who was competent. I could write 100 more positive adjectives about her. The manager at McClintock should call Neferti Hernandez and learn how 2 minutes of being helpful goes a long way. Manager at McClintock Uhaul, please remember, you are not the only storage facility in Tempe. In business, you're only as good as your last job. You make hard working people like Neferti look bad. This facility needs major work as far as customer service is concerned. Every time I called the facility, no one answered the phone and I would be automatically connected to the corporate office. Living out of state temporarily and being unable to connect with the office staff where my storage unit was, made for a very uneasy feeling and had me constantly worried, until just yesterday when I was able to clean and close out my unit. Tony, the previous manager, was the best employee this location had. I would never recommend this location in general, whether it be for a moving truck, storage facilities or even moving supplies, to anyone I know, as I would hate anyone I know to feel the way I had. Everything with you guys has been great till we got their Friday to empty the unit. Two guys working on Friday 8/14 around noon were beyond rude , not helpful, and very unprofessional. My son, Sean went to the counter politely told the two guys that he left his key at home (in California) could they help him get into his unit. One guy looked at the other guy rude and sarcastic and said "what can we do? " They pretty much said we can't help you at ALL period. My son asked can a locksmith help? Can you recommend a locksmith if so? They said" No " and "No"... Just rude and unprofessional. Then, when I stepped up they said it's a liability. That is fine to me, but I'm sure they've been in this situation before and could of had a different approach and been more helpful.. I kept on receiving notice of not paying when u received a free month. I called twice and still got emails including my amount due and late fee. Even after calling we were told we left the lock on it. This is not true because I have the lock in the glove box of my Honda. We had trouble opening the door and even got locked out of it.
