It is best practice to serve the customer facing you and put the incoming phone call on hold. Then if there is a line of customers, take the phone caller's number and call them back.LINDA G.
The Preston Location did absolutely fine on the UHaul rental. There was a bit of dirt or paint markings inside but it's a moving vehicle so no surprise there. The issue for us is we booked with the Jeffersonville location who had at least 6 vehicles on their lot, none of which were in working order and had to send us to the Preston Location to get our rental which is across the river and a good 20 extra minutes away. Again, not the problem of the Preston location but it certainly affected the overall experience.CHARLES H.

Everything I rented with an early checkin box was messed wrong key in it had to wait 2 hrs and ten minutes for someone to show up trucks transmission going out step ladder kept sliding out state trooper stopped us for that got to location and where I was picking up merchandise had left waiting two hrs for me so trip waisted then got back they hassled me over less than a quarter tank of gas 100$ ðŸ˜³not to mention the employees are lazy and smoke in front of guest blowing smoke in my face talking about don't say nothing we gonna credit you 70$â€¦â€¦.whatâ€¦..Never ever again oh they credit me 70$ out of the 320 I spent for nothing never ever again Penske will be who gets my $$$$$ if ever needed should have paid the higher price fir a better truck and service . I called and they said that's all we can do for you and then put that unsafe truck back out for rental smhâ€¦â€¦â€¦cheap isn't everything be carefulDemeka B.

The uhaul that I received was in terrible shape. Ran terribly. Neither door would close without slamming it 2-3 times. It wasn't cleaned out at all in the back, nor was the cab, definitely had a weird smell. The man in the office was nice besides that the actual vehicle was in bad shape.ALEXANDRIA G.

1) It took way too long for my ubox to arrive. 2) The uhaul place in SF refused to deliver my ubox or work with me to figure out what we can do, even though I had paid for delivery. 3) The lady I spoke with in San Francisco was extremely rude to me. 4) The amount of money I spent on this was absolutely not worth the headache I had to deal with.Jason G.

I ordered a appliance trolley and it wasnt there. This was the 2nd time this has happened. I would say use this place but if you need things like this go to home depot. Maybe partner up with home depotJANEEN E.
I was greeted by the general manager at the location, who confirmed my order and completed the questions/answers efficiently. The gentleman operating the yard hooked my trailer up, then we went through a safety check. The door was a tad rough to open, but not cumbersome. The 6x12 with dual axle towed easily, and i could tell the trailer brakes worked! My drop off was equally smooth - i pulled up, took out my moving blankets, and backed up into the designated spot, where the pleasant yard operator unhooked the trailer and sent me on my way. If you know how to tow, i recommend a trailer over a truck for lower cost and to visit the U-Haul location at 4612 Preston Hwy for a pleasant experience.MICHAEL M.

I make reservations from Bardstown rd location, until Friday they didn't call me , Saturday when i about pick up they told me they don't have van that location and they send me to Preston highways from my home that location is 7 mile coming and going they charged me for 20 mile extra, and I pay for Uber pick up time and after droop up , they charge me extra 43 box due to extra mile that is not my fault and reception people are so rude and lazy at Bardstown rd they don't care the customer â€¦ they are busy to look their nail and hair style . Too many furniture pads. Also, my card wouldn't allow a purchase of 3 000 for the container, so I had to withdraw cash and go pay in person. It would be much better if you could accept partial payments over the phone, or accept check routing numbers.CHAD S.

Unfortunately the Ubox storage was not open over the weekend, although my booking was confirmed for Sat/Sun; I had to come back the next day which was quite inconvenient, and also made my trailer drop off late. My booking was confirmed for "U-Haul Moving & Storage at Lynnview" however the Ubox storage and Uhaul store actually operate separately, and only the Uhaul store has a customer service area. I had to communicate with the Ubox storage via phone/text but often had to check in with the Uhaul staff to gain access to my Ubox; all a little confusing. The Ubox storage also doesn't operate on weekends to allow you access to your box; this should be communicated in advance.Jamie-Lee P.

I was picking up the truck thru my phone but then had to wait 20 minutes for a key because no one was behind the desk. Then I tried to drop off the truck after hours but the app wouldn't accept any pictures and it's an unsafe location. A drug addict kept circling the truck as I was trying to get the app to work! Now I'm being charged a service fee because the app didn't work.Tiffany L.

Improve communication between the uhaul store, to the uhaul storage facility, to the seperate movers you dispatch, to the customer. Our experience was pretty bad getting the right information we needed, and a lot of our furniture was broken and cracked even when protected.Cassandra N.

This site had only one person working on a Sunday morning. It took quite a bit of time to get my cargo trailer since it was not checked in the night before so it could not be checked out until it was checked in. The customer in front of me was told his truck was not even available, but they did find him a different truck but that took longer than expected. I chose the 4612 Preston Hwy. location despite it being further from my beginning location because the reviews I read indicated a competent and courteous staff. I was not disappointed. The truck I was assigned to was a later model, it was clean and drove well. Everyone I interacted with was professional, clean cut, well spoken and honest. Most of us used to take these attributes for granted and expected them, times have changed unfortunately. I don't mind driving out of my way or paying a little more to obtain professionalism and avoid being treated like I'm causing the person providing my customer service an inconvenience by choosing them, which has unfortunately become the norm at most places of all types. The ramp on the motorcycle trailer was too steep and I bottomed out and damaged some of my aluminum casing on my motor . Luckily it didn't get into the case and still holds oil . That sucked totally but otherwise it was a great rental experience.STANTON P.

I have dealt with what I was told was the GM of the location. There was a line of people and he just kept shooting the breeze with the person up front, nothing to do with work and just taking time. The other worker came in and got 2 others in their truck and he was still working with he one. He was clueless about the process and basically accused me of be senile. The second time there he asked about he insurance, We had turned it down online when we ordered. We turned down there and he asked we said no and he still charged us for it. Both times the gas was not where he said they were. I was lucky I took pics of both the mileage as well as the gas to cover my butt and it did.CHARLES C.
