I was charged a second day for the van, dolly, & CDW. Sent an email response requesting to have those extra charges removed, but no one removed them. Only had the van from around 3pm to just after 8pm on the day of use. Also, van was overdue for an oil change according to the dashboard display.

There were significant issues with the mechanics of the truck that were not disclosed to me and impacted my move. The truck's battery died multiple times, necessitating a jump, and at other times feathering of the gas, and slowing down the journey.

one of the managers (I guess there is more than 1) had an issue that I wanted to check in (return) the truck with someone rather than leaving the keys. I am glad I waited. The gas in your computer system was wrong at 3/4 full (another customer before me had the same issue). The correct fuel level in truck I picked up was 1/8 of a tank. I had to go run to get gas before it ran out of gas-not a good start. I am glad I took photos of the starting odometer and fuel. The 15' truck did not have AC and the weather was close to 98F - supposedly did not have another truck even though there was another one next to the one I got stuck using. The passenger side door did not open from the outside. The truck was not in the best condition. Then there were lines of trucks being returned that blocked me in and the manager that I had an issue would not allow one of the workers to move (or me) move one truck so I could leave. The person I worked at the counter when picking up the truck was nice and the person working outside (not the manager) that was trying to help me was nice. Took almost 50 min to pick up the truck and 1,5 hours to return. The man that finally cashed us out did adjust the final bill in an acceptable manner. The only reason I did not rate my experience as poor is due to the 3 individuals that tried to help. This location definitely needs more help.

There was no lock for me in my storage unit. I had to either a) wait in a like if 20 people to get the lock or b) buy one in store on my phone to skip the line. I chose to skip the line and pay $11 for a lock, but I shouldn't have had to.

Everything was great like always but I rented a dolly and when was time to return it they told me yo just drop it off in the back, I asked for a receipt or something to have proof of me returning the dolly and I was told that they don't give recifor that and not to worry about it. For the last couyof days I was kinda of nervous cause maybe I could get an email saying that I owe the dolly for not returning it or something like that. Again, everything was great renting the dolly and the people at this location are always pretty nice and helpful but next time I would like a receipt to have peace of mind.

Huge line almost from the time the store opened on Saturday and there was a substantial wait time. It seemed like the line could have been moved substantially faster than it did given that all activities for the store (rentals, buying supplies, storage units) were all being run out of the same location. Breaking up some of the activities, like droping off keys to another spot would help stop people needing to wait for 30 minutes to drop off some keys.

You have great signs inside of smiling customer and a smiling Uhaul Worker. There were no smiles anywhere at Uhaul. Was given wrong keys to van I rented. Couldn't find the van, Asked 2 men on the lot in Uhaul shirts if they could help, they only spoke Spanish. Luckily a man working the floor inside was able to help me get a van, He was very helpful and I told him so.

I've had too many problems with billing. First it was charged 10x the contract value saying that I drove from MA to NJ while the mileage was only 30mi). Second I got charged for returning the equipment 6 days after I actually did costing me an extra $280. So to improve for the next customer: BILLING. You just gave me so much headache you just lost a customer.

your reservation system sucks as does your app. By 9 AM there were 50 different renters waiting and on line and only one person to check everyone in. and half the people left no truck. as of 7 PM the night before I still did not know if I had a truck. it isn't a reservation after all, its a request. you piss a lot of people off. ]

The truck wasn't clean at all. It smelled strongly of cigarettes and looked like they hadn't cleaned it since the last rental. They delivered the truck reporting the tank level above what it marked on the dashboard. After I reported this, they guided me to just take a picture of the fuel gauge. Even so I was overcharged by Uhaul on delivery.

Your website allows the share 24/7 option for this location. It is not available here. I scheduled to pick up the truck at 6 am. The location did not open until 7am. As the 4th person in line I did not get the truck until just before 8am. This is completely unacceptable. There was only one person working the counter and 2 people organizing the equipment. This was on THE 1st OF THE MONTH. 3 employees for move in day in a major city is an incredibly poor way to do business. The hassle of not getting the truck Until 2 hours after I reserved it led to several other complications that really screwed me over and ended up costing me financially. I will tell everyone I know that lives in the city and might have to move to avoid using your business at all costs because 1. You lie and don't provide the services you say you do, and 2. Your locations are horribly under staffed and there is almost no chance they will be able to get the equipment on time even if they arrive an hour early like I did.

Waited in line for an hour to pick up reserved trailer. Associates were understandably overworked and short with customers. Trailer was full of trash and hypodermic needles from all of the unhoused drug addicts that had evidently picked it as a safe injection site. By far the worst experience I've at Uhaul or any store ever.

I only ended up here because my UHaul reservation closer to my home was canceled without letting me know. The website needs to be clearer that you need to go check into the unit the first date of the reservation or you forfeit the reservation. It was unbelievably stressful to show up with a fully packed UHaul and then realize we needed to drive with it on the interstate to a location miles away.

I waited in line for over an hour to pick up my van. I understand that isn't the fault of the location as to how busy it was, but the line could have been managed better. What I did take great issue to was the blatant lie that whoever checked the van back in made about the gas level. They said I returned it with 1/8 of a tank full which is nowhere close to true. It was returned just a fraction under 3/8 of a tank, where I picked it up. I drove a total of 9,6 miles and they charged me $66 for gas which is such a scam. I reported this to the web chat online and the agent put in a refund request, but after reading online reviews of this particular location I am far from the first person to experience this. I hope the location stops taking advantage of its customers and stealing money from them.

1 i waited about 15-20 minutes in line to pick up my rental because the location was understaffed with only one representative at the Check-in counter assisting about 4 customers. 2 I waited another 20 minutes outside because the inspection photos for the rental were never sent to me and there was confusion. I was eventually advised by a u-hall rep to take my own photos. 3 During the return process, when I asked to pay in cash, I was given different instructions by the outside u-hall attendant vs the manager regarding where to go to checkout. As a result, the manager appeared irritated with me - the customer - and two of his workers. 4 The manager inappropriately and wrongly reprimanded the wrong u-hall employees - in front of me vs pulling them to the side -for sending me inside the location to check-out. And, when I advised the manager of the manager that neither worker had sent me inside, he barked at me, saying, ‘it had to have been one of them'. But, neither u-hall reps had even talked to me about the check-out process . 2 I waited another 20 minutes outside because the inspection photos for the rental were never sent to me. The “15 minute parking” is a joke. The same cars I saw when I got there @ 1:45… were there when I came back at 4:30. The staff couldn't care less about people. One of the staff gave their number to one of the clients and spent 10- 15 minutes flirting with them. I get it, but maybe walk them out and give it to them? Then when I returned the truck, I was trying to do so with the app. The attendant was very rude and basically was telling me to stop doing that, and he was going to do it. I would've preferred doing it myself, as I was told the truck had 1/2 a tank of a gas in it. It only had 1/4 when I got it, and I took a pic on the app to prove it. All-in-all, I will NEVER come back to that location unless I am desperate to rent. 0,5 star.

The truck was very dirty with no gas. I returned the truck after an hour without using it. I will be requesting a full refund as the truck was extremely dirty and functioning very poorly. All warnings were on, like oil and haul.

Charged me for gas even though I added gas and gave it back at the rate that it was given to me. They also don't answer the phone fast enough to address the problems I was having. Lastly, I was supposed to pick up my rental at 9am but didn't get into the rental until 10am because they didn't have enough staff at the store to make sure that everyone was taken care of at an appropriate time. Please do better

The UBox team was outstanding. They were helpful and knowledgeable and gave honest answers. The staff inside the store/pickup counter were rude. I had called the General Manager twice on the day prior to the truck reservation date to ask questions that I could not get answers to primarily because no one answered the phone on multiple attempts. The GM did not return the calls. The local store cancelled my reservation with a "not our fault, not our problem" attitude with saying that I could come back in a week to pick up a truck if they had one available. I had already reserved two moving companies through Moving Help (#s 5 and 6 after one told me 5 days after accepting the reservation that he could not do the job despite my calling/sending email every day to alert him of a change to the job and saying "I'm just finishing a job, I'll call you back later." (NOTE: The interface between Moving Help and U Haul is HORRIBLE. Expectations are not set as to how difficult and time consuming it is or how phone customer service calls just don't get answered.)

I could not use the storage at Mass Ave, because the storage that I reserved was not available (previous customer was not moved out). I was chaotic because I had to put my moving stuff on the day. It was extremely nervous to find another storage unit. Finally I was able to find a storage unit 20 miles away, causing extra pay for truck, uber, and storage. Furthermore, they were still charging me the rent fee and late fee for the storage that I have not used. To fix this issue, I have called you several time, but it took 20 days fix. I'm very unsatisfied the overall service.

U-Haul hooked a damaged trailer to my vehicle. I was delayed over an hour because I had to wait in line to notify the dispatcher, tried to contact U-Haul on line, and tried to upload a photo of the damaged trailer through the pre trip inspection to no avail. It would be a lot simpler for the yard jockey to notify the dispatcher from the yard and repair or replace trailers that appear to be damaged before hooking them to customers vehicles

Terrible storage experience. When I went to open my unit, the key to my lock didn't work. I had to go buy bolt cutters. When I got into the unit I found mouse poop everywhere and also mouse traps. There were no mouse traps when I originally moved my stuff into the unit. This means that the uhaul staff cut my original lock off, laid traps, then replaced it with a different lock without telling me. I went to the office and the staff confirmed this. I will never use uhaul again.

My daughter did not receive the best assistance when trying to move in. The clerk was more worried about ordering her Chipotle than assisting…so much so my daughter didn't know she was to receive an access card and was never given any real direction. I will however say that the guy who helped up close the unit was extremely helpful friendly and knowledgeable. He's the type of person you need to keep around and get rid of that other dead weight! Lastly, parking is terrible!

Rental #837054-00136379Unit #: C2034 U-Haul Storage At Mass Ave Boston U-Haul was not able to lease us the storage unit to us and cancelled our reservation at the counter (U-Haul Storage At Mass Ave Boston) on June 29, 2022. This made us to find another storage unit on the date of our moving. It was disaster. I reserved the u-haul storage unit and confirmed. However, I found that the unit was full by other people's stuff. I asked another unit available, but the representative at the counter said there is no available space and refund our payment. They said it was not their fault. Was it our fault? I made reservation, but they ignored our reservation. I never understand and actually shocked about how U-haul is unprofessional. Not reliable, cannot trust the system. Furthermore, they still charged me as well as a late fee without providing a service. Your are totally unprofessional. You need fix your online reservation system. I spend extra $300 dollars for finding and driving another unit for storage due to your fault.

My customer service representative that booked my storage unit wasn't helpful at all!! He never offered to scan my license until after 40 minutes of me telling him I couldn't take a picture of my license with my phone. He didn't offer me a card key to get in facility which I didn't know I needed. He rudely took on another customer while he wasn't finished with me and me not knowing what else to do besides tell him to please finish with me first because I was not done yet and had been there for a very long time without help.

The storage was great. My locker was in a perfect location. The tall gentleman who spoke little to no English / Maybe Dominican was the ABSOLUTE BEST AND KINDEST SOUL . He was always super friendly and kind. He would always come by my storage unit and say hello. The lines inside made it unbearable to rely on. The garage door to get to the unit was a nightmare and always being blocked by actual UHAUL trucks made no sense . The Staff at front desk did not seem appreciated by upper management, as their motivation to be friendly wavered and depended on who was working. From my own experience in their position they need support and to be treated better because it show that they are clearly not. The turn over seems low but their energy seems even lower which implies a level on distain for their employer. That someone isn't listening to them not appreciating their efforts in showing up. The pandemic has changed our work culture and perhaps because UHaul is doing well they maybe getting greedy and forgetting to support their staff because it shows.

Set up my unit, was told they would change the lock in about a week to a circle lock and they would put the key in the managers office. Came back to get my things out a month or so later and they had lost the key. Some of the staff was very nice, but the assistant manager was not. He kicked us out for asking if we could break the block or if there was anything we could do.

So they people that work there were not helpful like 6 employees were just laying around literally all over the store. On their phones. They all stared as I walked in no one wanted to help me. One young woman reluctantly got up and gave me the card needed. At that point she sat back down and finished her phone conversation. Once I found the unit I had no idea there were stairs to use I then walked back over. She said it's stairs in there asked one of the other associates to assist and they completely ignored me. I personally don't take the time to do these type of surveys but the customer service aspect was HORRENDOUS to say the least

When I went in to empty my storage I noticed that the pipes have been leaking on to my stuff and more than five items had been damaged with mold. Yet I paid for the extra amount for cleaning expenses. So I'm not that happy . Their was no top to my storage so all the pipes could leak in.

The unit was great. Very secure and dry, no water, moisture or rodent damage to anything in there despite it being in there for 1,5 years untouched. Had some very valuable art in there and zero issues. Access is easy, lots of carts and space. Rented a truck there as well, had some hickups with the pick up but the truck was clean and very well maintained, drop off in Canada very easy and no extra charges.

The storage unit facility on Mass. Ave in Boston was great. So clean and well lighted. Private enclosed garage for unloading. Lots of carry carts for moving stuff to and from your vehicle to your unit. Staff worked fast to get us checked in and helped us drop off our rental trailer. Was a positive experience. .

The people in the showroom are immature and are undertrained. I always felt uncomfortable being on property mainly by uhual employees following me. I would attempt to ask for help and it was either "pass-the-buck" or the staff didnt speak english. I had an issues with getting access during hours of operation and was threatened with staff calling the cops if i didnt leave them alone. Yet i needed help. Overall very unprofessional and misinformed to later find out, after designated a locker, my storage required climbing a ladder. A huge nightmare including staff and even the "manager" who threatened me bc i requested help.

Issues with locks and communication with staff. Don't change locks without communicating clearly to me that a new lock will be there when I arrive and my old key will not work. However, staff was often every helpful and understanding.

The only thing I suggest is that there is a little bit more order when u need to park the truck to load your storage…. It was a bit confusing, there was cars parked where the trucks need to park and there was a gate the was not able to be used … a little hectic. There should be there n employee there to make things smoother. Customer service was Great ! Thank you !

The manager was extremely helpful in arranging a second unit for us when needed during move in. I do with the facility's hours were a bit later, as it can be tough to get off work, go get my car, and then get to the U-haul facility to move stuff out before 7pm.

I won't say she wasn't helpful. What I will say is this. When someone is renting or trying to figure out if there at the right place or nit. I just feel and I say I feel it should be more compassionate with people. I may have been at the wrong place I tried to explain to her why would I drop the truck of some place differently if I need storage. She did help me and I think it's because it looks like she was Theo nay one trying to deal with all the customer she had. But over all she was great she did make sure I got storage so I'm happy and yes I would recommend mass Ave. get her some help.

Waited in line for an hour only to receive the news that the key put on my storage unit by uhaul was lost and could not be cut because only one person had the ability to do so. Had to extend a rental car and had no access to any of my furniture and college supplies. Terrible experience and would not recommend. Issue was "resolved" after uhaul credited the amount of the bribery we had to pay a worker to cut the lock on the unit back to me.

First of all, it is not clear where to check in for storage facilities. We were yelled at by several employees when we drove onto the uhaul Lot. We asked for assistance on where to park and where to go and no one would help. We circled the block a couple times and after parking on the street, found our way back to the office, right where we had been told we couldn't park! We had a confirmed reservation for a storage unit, but we were told they were all sold out and our reservation meant nothing. What a joke. Horrible experience! Unprofessional rude staff. We read the Yelp reviews and added our poor rating to the dozens of other. We should have read them ahead of time

The website states we can bring our own lock, but the staff at the counter tried to sell me yours, saying if I used mine it would be cut by the manager while on its round! I have been using my own lock, which is exactly like yours! Maybe the staff should know what they are talking about!

Really poor customer service. The two girls were friendly and nice but the gentleman was rude and wasn't helpful. May be I am Asian with brown skin. That's what he made me feel like. When I went to ask something about the rental, he wanted me to go back to end of line and wait 30 minutes. The storage I got is really small even though I wanted a storage to fit one bedroom room apartment.
