LUKE SI needed to rent two Furniture Dollys. This Location only had one Furniture Dolly. I had to buy an Extra Furniture Dolly. I felt that this was Totally Unnecessary. U Haul is a Rental Company, and should have all the Necessary Equipment on Hand to comply with the Number of Trucks that are Rented. Other than that, the Experience Overall was Excellent.
JAMES PThe location itself is on a busy street and can be difficult to get into. The parking lot is small and can be congested. But, hey, you're not there for very long anyway :) The staff, however, is exceptional! They're extremely helpful, extremely patient, and always very polite. I would absolutely recommend this U-Haul location.

KENNETH JI was moving my entire house and planning to take several trips with the trailer, so I booked the location near me and had moving help scheduled. My reservation got moved to a location entirely across town for the same time, which was rush hour. I ended up being a good bit late where I would've been early had my reservation been kept at the place I wanted it to be. Additionally, I had to make one fewer trip. I asked for an extension of my trailer reservation without penalty to compensate for the extra time I had to drive to this other location across town. They would not give me any extra time. That is not good customer service or caring about your customer. I feel taken advantaged of, and definitely inconvenienced because of being late for my moving help and having to take one fewer trip than I would have so I could make the return window that they wouldn't extend for me. Very unhappy.

Darryl RThe trailer equipment had not been checked out in the system. I was told that it appeared that we stole the equipment. The Uhaul employee was aware that we were picking up the trailer after loading the truck.
YOLANDA DWe didn't have a lock so people couldn't take the trailer off the truck. We didn't realize it until the morning after we picked it up. When we called they said they couldn't sell me a lock after it had been picked up. It would have been nice if someone had mentioned it when I picked it up.

NICHOLE SThe rented equipment should be clean, fueled and parked in a location ready to be taken out by the customer. Not 1/2 empty and shoved in the back where you have to search for it and do 3 point turns to get it out from behind other equipment.

CARL SWe originally started with a reservation at a different location. But as we got closer to the time of our rental, the location was switched on us. This location is not very easy to get out of, especially when you have return vehicles and trailers coming in at the same time. The truck we ended up getting was definitely not safe for that long distance drive. The door would jiggle open while driving. The dashboard came away when trying to get the water bottle out of the cup holder. We had to open the windows to be able to breath because the fumes in the cab would become too overwhelming. If we didn't have a full load on this move we would have called in for a change to the vehicle. We drove with hopes of making it the whole way and were more than happy to turn that vehicle in when we got here. Hopefully that truck doesn't get rented out again anytime soon.

RONALD JTrailer had balding tires on the rear axle and the trailer has a bad vibration that could be felt in the tow vehicle. When I returned the trailer and made mention of it to the person checking me in they said they had downed the trailer for maintenance and wasn't sure why it was upped and rented.

ANNETTE HI picked this location so that I could pick up the unit using the mobile app. I could not get the app to work so I could not get the unit. Called the help desk and they were no help. I had a moving crew waiting on me and of course the clock was ticking. Ended up paying for almost two hours that they did nothing. Once the the location opened at 9 they had me out in a matter of minutes even though my reservation had been cancelled since I missed my 6 pickup time. I still cannot get the app to work.
DONALD DEnsure the truck is completely clean and maintained. The ramp came completely off and we had to figure out how to get it back on the rails. All functional parts should be checked before renting.
JAMES SJust wanted to order an appliance dolly along with the truck, but when I arrived, there were no dollys available I'd say that having more equipment hand would make future customers more satisfied

Regine YThe Dodge pick-up truck I rented was dangerous when moving in reverse. Vehicle would not accelerate gradually in reverse gear but would lurch quickly an d uncontrollably rather than gradually as I attempted to use light pedal touch.
alvin MTruck was very dirty (i have pictures) with mud all throughout the interior and the truck seems to have some mechanical problems as well. Employees very rude and also I was lied to by the "manager" Tyson. I will never be a uhaul customer again.
Charles BFemale employee talked on the phone with her boyfriend the entire time while trying to unhook the trailer with one hand but couldn't do it. She should be replaced.

Colleen H | Premières impressionsOur storage unit had some roaches come in it. Thankfully we didn't have our things in there long where it became an infestation. Parking and accessibility into the parking lot and where the storage units are is inconvenient which is no fault to the staff. Otherwise the staff was always accommodating and friendly. Absolutely no issues with accessing our unit, opening and closing out the storage unit. Only reason I would not recommend to a friend is the hassle of the parking, accessibility, and the roaches.

It stunk like dead animals inside the building and also inside the storage unit. Told manager and Al they did was come out and take pictures of fluid coming out of the adjoining unit. Couldn't even go into building because I was gagging! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Was not able to get in the gate, had to make another trip back to the office. Finally got in the gate and the unit was rusted shut. Another trip to the doc is and almost two hours in was promised someone would come and change the latch and it would be quick. Waited another 25 minutes and wound up renting a unit at LifeStorage. I made another trip back to the office to move out. The employees were so rude (not just on this trip, the whole time). Will not do business with uhaul storage ever again. Also the facilities are dirty and in poor repair. They don't seem to be secure either. There's a lot of homeless people around and always asking for money.

Frederick C | Expérience généraleThe storage facility was dark and there were constantly shady looking people walking into the facility with suitcases and other personal belongings and never walking back out. The facility does have a tall fence surrounding it so you he can assume they weren't just passing through. The area where my unit was was down a hall with no lights in it or the unit itself. The hall was short and there was only one way in or out and the door opened toward that direction and would not open fully so you had to close the door every time you walked by to get something else to put in. Overall this unit was better than my other Uhaul experiences, so it didn't get one star.

DANNY L | Expérience généraleWe rented for less than two months and mice had infested the unit. Mouse bait was placed in the unit. Lots of feces and a dead mouse was found on our couch. The couch had holes in it due to mice. The property is dirty with lots of trash in the parking lot. Its in a sketch part of town. The bathroom smelled like urine from the floors and no soap in the dispenser. The employee was professional and clearly understaffed.

However, the reservation was originally made at the U-haul storage on Spartman drive and it was given to someone else that morning and they didn't have any other units available. So they sent me to this one on University drive. I was very disappointed that the storage unit I reserved had been given away and that I had to drive to another location.

I could not park in the parking lot to take care of business. I wouldn't rent from you all just because of the way the parking is set up.
ARNITA J | Premières impressionsFirst of all, there are not enough people working at the University Dr. store to meet the volume of customers. Secondly, I have never heard of any storage unit that requires the customer to purchase the storage company's lock, so I did not appreciate being threatened with having the lock I purchased for the unit I was provided cut off if I didn't purchase a U-Haul circular lock. It's bad enough that U-Haul has some of the highest rates for storage units that I have ever seen, but to feel pressured to spend money on the company's circular lock is especially horrible. It didn't help that I saw other units that did not have the U-Haul circular locks on them. There was also some confusion about the terms of the one month's worth of free storage. I was told by two U-Haul representatives that I qualified for a month's worth of free storage with no stipulations added or explained in either case. If the unit was not offered for free, I would never had bothered using a U-Haul storage unit. Finally, as I answered in the introductory questionnaire, no, I would not ever recommend a U-Haul storage facility to anyone.
Andrea G | Premières impressionsOn the day we came to empty our storage units we found rat feces all over our belongs and that our household items were destroyed. As we worked to go through our packages we found 4 rats in our boxes and amongst our belongings. When we asked for assistance we were rudely dismissed and told "file a claim" and given a pamphlet. When we called the number to customer service we were on hold for over two hours and eventually ended the call once our movers loaded all of the items we could take home. Thankfully we didn't take any rats to our new home, however we lost a lot of items we needed and ended up spending much more money to replace items i.e. towels, dishes, sheets, a loveseat and a recliner, wires for our surround sound system which had been eaten through. I would never recommend this storage place, it is not well maintained and there is no reprieve for your damaged items.

CHANTELE F | Expérience généraleStaff was exceptional and the location (office, lots, and storage area) were well organized, clean, and maintained. One downside is that access is limited to only times when staff is available due to a key sign-out procedure; this impacted my plans greatly when I planned to remove items from storage at 5PM on 25 May to place in my new home (closed on it 26 May). On 22 May I personally spoke with the site manager and confirmed that the site would be open for regular hours on 25 May. Unfortunately in the morning of 25 May the site manager decided to close the site early that day, thereby constraining me to waiting until the weekend to retrieve and use my stored household goods - because I stored a lot, I could not clear out the storage into a trailer, move the trailer, unload the trailer at home, and return the trailer during a 24-hour period until the weekend. This unpublished impromptu closure negatively affected my family. Please decide upon and post / publicize non-standard hours at least two weeks in advance in order to facilitate customer planning.
