Reservation was messed up by the online system several times. Had to call to correct both truck size and location. Then at pickup, even though arranged online for mobile pickup, it took an hour to have a 29yr old driver's identity verified to allow truck pickup, setting us behind from the start. Truck was fine though and drop box drop off went well also.

I found this U-Haul Moving & Storage facility at Tiffany Square here in Colorado Springs not only clean and easily accessible (several dedicated loading/unloading parking spaces at the entrance) but GM Jason Carr to be very friendly & helpful -- as was Don, one of the other U-Haul employees who helped me on move-in day. Further, the rental rates are surprisingly reasonable, especially considering this is a climate-controlled facility in fairly expensive Colorado Springs. As I told Jason when I was "checking out," his Tiffany Square facility would be my FIRST choice should I ever need another storage room in the future.

Upon arrival, I found out their "system" was down and they could not check me in. They told me to check in online using my phone. That was a 30 minute process with many issues. They didn't want to use their manual backup system because it took too long. I was not impressed.

My uhaul truck that I reserved and rented was double booked so I had to rush to bring it back to them when I was told the rental was for the day. Terrible planning on their part and expectation for me to move refuel and return all under 3 hours because they decided to book someone else for it

My original drop off location was closed, that part sucked. Fortunately I was able to drop off at a main storage and rental hub. Everyone involved was very helpful, whatever systems are in place to make things run seamlessly may need improvement.

This is the best storage facility I’ve ever seen and used. I’ve had several storage units in my time and this was far and away the best. Nothing compares to it!! Jason Carr is an excellent GM who is an excellent asset to have.

I paid $30 over my mileage when this was the fault of uhaul not having equipment and I didn't have the ability to drive at night because of the truck not having headlights. Please review image the customer service rep uploaded to the contract

We requested furniture blankets and they were not given to us. We had to travel back while our movers waited for the moving blankets. We had to travel a 1000 miles in a U-Haul that had mechanical issues. We contacted roadside assistance who advised it would be a 2hr wait. We decided to proceed to our destination but were not able to go above 60mph due to shaking and pulling. This trip should have taken 12hrs but took 17hrs.

When we received the truck the check engine light came on and we were told that the truck just needs oil and not to worry. During the short drive between Colorado Springs and Denver several other notice lights came on in the truck with the truck finally having issues and not starting up immediately when we were getting ready to take it to drop off. We decided not to even stop the truck to fill up with gas as we were very worried about it breaking down and being stuck with it so we just went to immediate drop off.

This is no reflection on the U-Haul office at 455 E. Woodmen Colorado Springs but on the webpage. I scheduled the pick up of 17Ft truck at 3250 Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs, CO scheduled for pick on Saturday Sept 26th at 9:00. Nobody was there , Holly showed up at 9:35 and told me no truck there sent me to 455 E Woodman. What a mess!! I was not impressed.

I had read some negative reviews but they were extremely helpful and fast at checkin and checkout. Was a much better experience than hiring a moving company and I saved over a grand doing it this way. Definitely recommended.

Be sure to have them fill the tank before you leave, that's the only way you'll wake away without being ripped off for any gas you used. I know you can't expect the best gas mileage but I would be willing to bet that these trucks get better than 4 mpg. Rates apparently change so don't listen to the employee when they tell you it's a certain price because that rate changes after you leave. And you also get taxed twice after they hike the rate of gas 2x what you would pay. Never again will I use uhual.

A above average or excellent score would have been chosen however, upon return, parked in designated area for returns, waited several minutes but had to go in to get someone to unhook the rental trailer. He person had very little mechanical skills to figure out how to unhook the safety chains. After 30 minutes of trying, my wife went in to get the manager to come out to assist, he then got a cutting tool to physically cut the chain links to remove the safety chain.

Need to more thoroughly prepare/maintain equipment. A cover plate inside the 20-foot truck we rented was not fully secured (it appeared some screws were missing), and when a helper stepped on it, it flipped open and his foot went through the opening, causing a slight ankle injury. Everything else was fine.

Overall this experience was pretty horrible. I reserved a rental truck from a location on Fillmore and Nevada. When I arrived I was told my truck wasn't there I asked why and they just said because they don't have it. I was told I needed to go to the location on woodman to pick it up. However I choose the specific for the in town rental because of its proximity to when I was moving from and moving to. When I went to pick up the truck I asked if I would be reimbursed for the additional mileage because this was not an error on my end. When I reserved the truck there were many locations that said not available and I was sure to pick one that said available. The first person I spoke to said I might not get reimbursed and I'd have to wait to find out sometimes when reservations are made that doesn't mean they are definite due to locations availability and often you get a call or email with the change. I received nothing from uhaul that stated my reservation had been changed. It took an extra hour to get the truck and the “online” quick check in was anything but easy and I still had to go inside multiple times. Upon returning the truck I asked again about the mileage and the individual checking me in said there's nothing he can do and I asked why and all he stated was “because of our Policies” I went inside to get my friend so we could leave and another individual asked if there was an issue and I explained what happened and this was the first person to admit that the situation wasn't right and she was going to offer me a refund. However there were complications with the website and she took my information and said she would speak with her manager. When her manager called me he was quite condescending again telling me there was nothing they could do and worked really hard to downplay my story. By this time I was over the entire experience and said forget it. At the end of the day this is not a matter of dollars and cents or miles driven but how you choose to treat people. No where along the way did uhaul take responsibility for their error, give a legitimate reason other then just repeating “policies” , acknowledge my experience, or work to apologize. It seems more important to uhaul here that they needed to be right vs real and lose a customer. Except for maybe one worker- I believe her name might have been kaleigh. Thank you for trying.

The desk seems short on manning for the large influx of customers- each day I stopped by, it seems like they were overwhelmed with phone calls and customers in line. There is something going on with the security system- customer service told me they've been arming the system wrong, so that the alarm goes off when anybody enters the facility after hours- this happened to me about a dozen times over 3 days, even after checking in. It's very hard to get hold of somebody after hours when this happens. I had to wait on the phone for 10 minutes for somebody to pick up.

I was parking truck and employee told me I had to wait under awning to return. I waited. He finally came out to hook up a trailer for another customer and asked if I checked in on line. The sign said check in on line after hours. I told him what the sign said and he said— I am really short handed so please check in on line. I was successful but he could have told me that at the start when I was parking the truck. I ended up parking the truck exactly where he told me not to park at the very beginning. He wasted 20 minutes of my time by not asking me to check in on line at the very beginning.

This was an absolutely terrible customer service experience and I will not use you guys again. When a company designs a web experience that puts their needs in front of a client's, I'm out. First, too many pages confront the customer when reserving a truck. No one wants to have to click through so many suggestive selling pages. You wasted my time. Other than that (although a huge unnecessary element) that part worked well. Has anyone at UHaul actually used the pick up web app? If so, do you really feel it is a good customer service experience? Again, you wasted too much of my time with that horrible experience. My pick up time was 7:45 pm. I was there not much later, and there were many trucks that appeared to be available. Despite having my payment info on file, my order had been cancelled. Really? An on line chat was available, thank heavens as the office was closed., so already you have a stressed client on your hands! After a wait that was way too long given we were panicked, a rep came on and ultimately renewed the rental. And then, again, way too many needless click throughs. You already had our info on file, so repeated requests for info wasn't appreciated. Our photo was repeatedly declined and then we would have to wait for a C/S rep to explain why it needed to be retaken over and over again. We had to wait way too long to be “approved” before we eventually received a text with a number to acquire the keys. The entire process was about 35 minutes. Really? Never again folks! I rent and use a moving vehicle for my business and would never subject myself to this abusive process again. I can't be the only one who is extremely unhappy with this process. A shame because even at nearly $400, I felt it was a fair price for a well maintained and trouble free clean truck. But you are another large company who doesn't value your customer's time. A shame.
