Two major issues. When I made the reservation over the phone, I specifically asked if there would be someone to help me hook up the trailer as I have a back injury and I was told all Uhaul trailers are hooked up by staff. When I went to pick it up, the lady told me they don't do that there, and if I wanted someone to hook it up I would need to wait until 1:00 (4 hours). I managed to hook it up myself, and as I was driving out she came out and waved at me to stop. She didn't say anything, but walked around my car. I didn't see her and out the car into gear, then saw her head pop up. I almost ran her over because she didn't tell me she was ducking down between my car and the trailer to check the connections.RYAN B.

I almost never provide reviews but given the experience I had, am willing to make an exception. The employee that assisted me was patient and polite (and I appreciated both that morning). She exhibited competence in her work and was helpful in ensuring I had everything I required. A refreshing delight from today's uncaring, impersonal approach to many service based businesses. If she were to represent a percentage of the staffing throughout U-Haul, you would be well above average. I will be returning to use your services and will be encouraging friends, family and colleagues to do the same. Overall a more than respectable 8,5 of 10. The vehicle rented to me was very unclean and had not been totally checked through. As a result a sufficient amount of marijuana was discovered in the center console by my 6yr old grand daughter who had it in her hands. Being in the center console so close to the driver (myself), put me at risk of having legal issues with the police had I been stopped for any reason, as well as the risk to my grand daughter who found it. When I immediately called the point of rental, the girl answering the phone told me they had made a mistake. When the truck was returned, staff down played the entire situation and said it was not their responsibility. I have rented for years from uhaul and never had this problem, nor their ensuing response. My name is ed Heppner my number is 778 682 4813. I took pictures of the drugs in the console. New customers may not be familiar with online booking and picking up a unit using their cellphone. If it isn't there, a step by step guide on "how to" do these things. Jen was very polite and eager to help. Fast and funny helps. Only complaint was the schedule of the return of the van from the previous customers. Understanding as this is as nothing ever goes as planned. In fact I don't really care for that time line expectations. We were directed to another location to pick up the van, which did not happen as the client was delayed. This did stall our time to start. It took over 1 hours and 20 minutes from the time I arrived to the the time I left with the trailer. Was first told I could not take it due to the wiring being broken from the last customer. Then was told to try it to see if the issue was just with their vehicle. Drive down to the trailer to find that the wiring was broken, on the drive back up noticed another trailer that had the wiring on it, I asked if it could be switched and was told yes i can try swapping it. Drive back down and switch the wiring and that one is also broken. Drive back up and finally am told to grab a new one off the wall and go try it. That one worked but had now been there for over an hour at that point. Would have been nice to just pick up the trailer and go rather than my options being fix it or no trailer at that location.DAVID T.

Jennifer who helped me at the front counter was excellent. However, he new driver's license scanning system is very inefficient and delayed my pickup experience significantly. I should never have to do a pre or post trip on my personal cell, and deal with staff that is condensating. I put in 1/8 more a tank of gas than when I picked it up but was still charged for 2 kilometers over. that 0,40 $ has ensured that future rentals will be with other companies and I will let others know that.KEN K.

The on line check out is a bit of a gong show. You have to scroll down to the bottom, scan this, take a picture of that, take a picture of this. It is not user friendly at all.Balan M.
I reserved 3 storage lockers for my move. A transport truck is coming to deliver all the furniture and belongings. I show up to open my units and they tell me they gave my reserved units away to someone else and the only have 2 5x10 units available. I never received a phone call or anything prior and had to go find another unit at the last minute before the movers showed up. I could have came in earlier to start renting the units a few days or weeks in advance if they had told me it would be an issue, but I was never told that. Don't tell me I can book a reservation and then give my units away with absolutely no heads up. That's not a reservation.Jordan S. | Expérience générale

Ordered a furniture dolly didn't have one in the truck when I picked it up, lady at the location was understanding and allowed me to barrow a different dolly. 9/10 good.Pierce W.
I found the collection a little challenging. Also it was difficult to actually get in touch with someone after pick-up. Finally I originally wanted a trailer, which the website told me was available, only later to be told I had to drive an additional 30 mins for a new pick up location. Honestly, the overall experience could have been better. However the equipment was what I needed and it was available and affordable. I will be back, but hopefully the customer experience will improve a little.Lee K.

First of all, the super nice lady working at this location is amazing. In all of the upset, I didn't get her name but she was so nice and understanding. So this one star is NOT a reflection of her and she should really get a raise. We booked a â€˜15 foot truck one week prior to our pick up date. We booked it at the hazelwood location and when we went in a day before to make sure everything was good, we found out it's a pretence selection but is based on availability. So we had to go the location on matsqui. Which in of itself was inconvenient because it added unnecessary mileage to our trip. There was no indication, or at least very little and very unclear, that it was not a guaranteed pick up location. We got a call later in the day about our and it was not made clear in the call any of our reservation details. When we were on our way to pick up the truck, we realized in the email that we were getting a 9' cargo truck. This was incredibly upsetting. We booked a vehicle to make one trip for a reason. We ended up having to do 4 trips to Chilliwack. We had to pay 200 $for something I originally estimated half. This is a horrible way to do business. To not guarantee a booking, but to literally say â€œreservation guaranteedâ€ on your website while booking. There was no option for the 50 $guarantee, which isn't even a guarantee because you can book it right out from under us. So incredibly disappointing and inconvenient and costly. And completely false advertising. She told us our other option was maybe if a truck comes back on time we could pick it up at 630. Considering we were getting a 15' truck we wouldn't be loading it at our apartment complex at night, that's ridiculous. Our only day to move was the day we booked a truck. While we were in the office, three other people had similar issues. I would really like a break on the cost because I was intending a 29,95 $ truck plus 15 $fees and mileage. Not 109 $for the day alone! Really really unfortunate and the reality is I won't be using this service ever again and I will be telling everyone I know about how horribly set up this is. I assume it works the same with lockers? If I book a locker you can just give it to someone else right out from under me. All based on availability which is just a big company having the ability to gamble on people's livelihoods and patronage. 0/10 would use again.Collum B.

Unfortunately, the passcode was incorrect but an employee could see our distress and discovered the error made by an employee. Once corrected we were on our way. The gas tank was only 1/4 full. I put in 100$ of fuel, used 1/4 of a tank and had 1/2 tank left over. I received a gas credit for 1/4 of a tank. Merci.Michael A.

I was I incredibly tired and overwhelmed after being on the road 5 long days and don't think I could have done it without his very kind help. The whole experience was brutal. The online check in and check out didn't work. The attendants that worked there were good but on both check in and check out we had to wait for a lengthy time. We didn't have a dolly or furniture Matt's in the truck so had to carry heavy items. I would just pay a Neighbor with a truck next time. The whole process was inefficient.Jason A.

I was charged 20$ extra as your odometer readings are in KMs and you charged me in miles. I have already contacted your support team and let them know that. Understaffed and extremely hot in office. Stood inside for 45 minutes to be served. Only 1 person working when there should of been at least 2. The person working did his best to keep up manning two stations at once. Here's an idea hire 2 people at all times instead of trying to save 15 bucks an hour.MARK V.

Dropped off both units and told staff that we got equipment dirty but returned it cleaner than we got it and showed her the pictures but found out later she charges us for cleaning charges. She didn't seem to care. Have used this location many times before as Jennifer the manager is pleasant to deal with and asked to talk to her but staff told me to come back tomorrow to talk to herColleen C.

I called last month to cancel and the lady said we are set and its cancelled. This month i got charged again and when i called..i was told the cancellation did not process correctly by the lady..however they see the cancellation. First of all, worst customer service I have ever received. Couldn't get through to any agents over the phone. Then when went return the truck the location given didn't exist. So we had to wait on hold for over an hour for an agent and we were passed on to different agents 4 times. We ended up having to drive further out to return the truck. Worst experience of my life. The manager Jennifer is awesome lady she is so polite and nice and very accommodating as much as she could be. I would love to deal with her as a manager for ever if needed to she has made my experience with u-haul pleasant and has made up for any problems in the past I've had with other u-hauls on Vancouver island and Surrey. I believe in and trust her and would do business with her any andneverytime I have the chance.
