U-Haul screwed me on this one. This was my 2nd reservation within a week, and it was for a 26 foot truck at the Daniel Webster location in Nashua. Someone at U-Haul (I can only assume some corporate level decision based on their revenue mgmt dept overbooking their inventory) changed the location (farther north, but not a huge deal) AND my equipment (BIG DEAL)!! I no longer had a 26 foot truck on my reservation, it was switched to a 15 footer and a trailer to tow. I spoke to 2 different women at the customer service/scheduling support number and they were unapologeticâ€¦ â€œyou should be happy you got anything sirâ€¦ no, we didn't overbook, this is just our busiest month of the yearâ€¦ if it tells you anything about how busy we are, we had to stop taking reservations todayâ€¦â€ No shit!! Maybe you should've stopped taking them a week ago!! I had to spend an extra 14+ hours driving, not to mention U-HAUL charged me over $300 for those extra miles AND I had to spend almost $500 in additional fuel expenses!! I'm Head of CX for a North American brand and I speak at conferences, and trust me when I say, this story will be shared to anyone who will listen!Daniel E.

I pulled into the parkinglot and got in line for a pickup. There were no parking spots available. We paid online to "skip the line" then waited 20 minutes anyways to be seen. Again. No big deal. A gentleman outside came up to us and said he would help get us out of here fast, he grabbed out trailer and was super helpful. Another employee started jawing at him to have us move. He then came to my window and said I had to move. He argues with the other employee for a few seconds, then came to my window and said, "do you wanna get hit? Cuz you're gonna get hit if you don't move." I was very uncomfortable by the exchange. Normally I really don't care about these things but the second employee who spoke to us was completely unnecessary and downright rude. There are easier ways to speak to people.Kyle M.

I rented a cargo van. It was not clean. Looked like it was swept out and that was all. There were crumbs in the console under the radio and nothing in the back of the van was wiped down. Inside of the back doors were dirty and the windows needed to be cleaned. There was also an issue that I noted on the return paperwork about the drivability of the van. It was wandering all over the highway and the steering seemed off. I had to get off the highway which caused more time added to my day. I'm not sure if it was tire pressure or something wrong with the van. Either way, I told the attendant when I dropped off that I did not feel it was safe and would not recommend it went back out unless it had been looked atJennifer C.

Customer service for Uhaul is horrible. Billing is horrible. Communication is horrible. You would think that Uhaul would be easier to deal with since they have been in business for so long. Boy, was I wrong! Buying a house was easier. Employees need better training and Communication skills. Very rude and unwilling to help. Made my moving experience a nightmare. First thing when I got there the truck and the trailer wasn't ready when they finally got it ready seems like everybody was real busy and didn't really check the trailer out and found out that one of the straps was broken and the real light assembly was broken but the worst part about it is that when I would return it I was led to believe that they blame me I've been dealing with this location and with U-Haul for a long time so I was not very happy the other thing is is when I use my credit card I was told that I could pay cash but they would put a hold of money on it on the card actually not the credit card but debit card I didn't know that that added a little problemChristopher E.

I can't get ahold of anyone that will help me... I returned my uhaul when expected (store was closed) but I got chargeded as if I got to use it an additional day ! I'm so mad because I would have just kept it I could have used it if I was being charged !!!!!Adam H.
I used the 24/7 option to pick up a van. When I arrived at the location and followed the instructions, I was told the key could only be provided by hand delivery which was 1 hour past my planned pick up time which impacted other plans schedules throughout the day. This was not disclosed on the website or in any confirmation. When arriving at the location to express my dissatisfaction, the staff could care less. UHaul should not offer and advertise a 24/7 option if you can only pick up the key during business hours.Sean D.
Need more personnel at Counter. I am cognizant of current economic status, but its way to long of a wait especially when you have traffic calling you for your pickup timeframe and your standing in an extensively long line waiting to pickup said equipment scheduled. One with assume with all this new Tech implemented by Uhaul w/online services passed down to Customer to do more work on the front-end, that the purpose of time consumption would be avoided when picking up. Reservation for 6:30pm pickup. Arrived at 6:40 and was told they were closed by the male worker outside. Asked again and said the registers close at 6:45. Called Richard on cell, but no answer. Had a great experience. The knowledgable reps at the register helped us make sure we had the right trailer for what we needed and the person that hooked up the trailer continued his duty even though a sudden downpour happened just as he was getting the wiring and chains set up. The 0 % oil life remaining message came on. I didn't want the engine to blow so I pulled off the highway into a gas station and shut the truck off. After sitting there trying to call Uhaul and waiting on hold for many minutes I noticed the oil gauge, so I turned the truck on and the message disappeared and the gauge went to half full. Sharon M.

Bench Seat options for a 10ft would be great, so we can fit 3 people in the front seat. Struts/shocks were in need of attention, as prior to getting on the freeway (if driving in the city) it was so bouncy that I couldn't take a proper drink out of my Coca Cola bottle, as the passenger. Customers should be encouraged to get the next size larger than they think they need, as this actually ended up being too small for one trip with Mom's studio apartment. Two other personal vehicles were filled to capacity after loading up our U-Haul. Also, our gross estimate was for 100 miles, but we did less than 80, and upon returning to our home address, the gas tank was literally on empty, so there was not nearly enough gas in the tank based on the fuel consumption estimate. However, it does not affect my overall opinion of U-Haul. It is reliable, affordable and convenient, with a lot of great products and services. May I suggest they extend that service to include rental of dumpsters for clearing out of property etc.? Thank you very much!Gina B.

The service picking up the rental truck and equipment t was awesome. The introduction ruin to the storage unit was disgusting. I wasn't given a tour of the storage building because I was moving the same day. She said when you return with items to store, I'll show you around. I ended up returning when another staff member was there. I explained the previous staff member was going to give me a tour. She was being lazy instead of walking back with me and letting me know how to access the building. My customer experience was great until the new female assistant manager was hired. She's rude jusgemental snobby and I'm not be in customer service at all. She will be the reason that place will lose customers I've had friends with me that were thinking of getting a unit there and then saw how she was with customers and instantly changed their mind because of her attitude and judgmental behavior. It seemed like every time I went there they were waxing the floors so I'd have to come back or wait. The door to the unit was not on level so it was extremely difficult to get my lock on and off so much so that a few times I couldn't open it or close it so I'd have to call a friend to help me or even have to come back or leave it unlocked. Supposed to have climate control and I was paying for it ,it was so cold i side , some of my stuff got broken because it was too cold was 52° ,when I used to rent before it used to be 65 and I asked them to put it up to 65 one girl was rude to me , she said it needs to below 55° , that's not climate control to me sorry .then they upped my rent and i was only there 4 months. I wont rent from uhaul ever again . Plus i didnt feel safe . One guy was sleeping in his storage that was next to my first storage , then had to park outside because both stall where taking up by guys doing drugs in their cars , smoking and working on his car . The day I moved into the facility on my current unit there was snow everywhere making it difficult to move into the facility. I was promised 1/2 off of the unit for all of the issues, however I am uncertain a credit was applied. The sliding electric door was stuck and had to be held open manually. There were numerous tows blocking the entrance and I was unable to access the closest door to my storage unit. I have pictures that document these facts. A $400 air conditioner was stolen along with other items and boxes out of a unit I vacated. When I requested a claim be filed for theft I was continuously put off and have dealt with retaliation for speaking up for my legal rights. I was forced to contact the main office and reached someone who finally gave me the regional managers telephone number, as no one would provide the regional managers telephone number to resolve basic issues. Brittani, the Regional Manager was very helpful and professional. I was lied to and treated poorly and bullied by the current S. Willow facility manager, Richard. Before I spoke up in regards to the theft I had no issues with U-Haul. I would not recommend anyone rent from this facility. I am out a $400 air conditioner and other belongings that were stolen out of a storage unit I rented. I paid for insurance on the storage unit and the insurance should have covered the theft. After speaking up about the theft I faced retaliation and would never use this facility again. I no longer trust the facility manager, Richard at South Willow Street U-Haul. The previous manager was respectful, kind and caring. The current manager is unprofessional, rude, abusive and does not respect the customers, or honor his spoken words. I am thankful for the Regional Manager Brittani for professionally and maturely handling my concerns, however the fact still remains that a theft took place and U-Haul refuses to take responsibility for this criminal action against me. U-Haul retaliates against those who are robbed at this facility. I have met several amazing young women staff at this facility who went out of their way to provide kind and caring service, however with the current facility manager they are afraid.Carol P. | Premières impressions

There wasn't clear instruction about how to get the access card to enter the storage facility. When I went in the store to get the card no instruction was given, so I had to go back in a second time and then they told me I had to swipe the key card twice on 2 separate panels to gain access.Devon A. | Online Move In

I arrived at site, and storage unit was not suitable and easily accessible because there were stairs and no elevator making it difficult to move furniture and mattress. Had to go to Bedford. NH facility to get appropriate storage and return truck. Back in 2009 I rented a large truck from. Uhaul in Tilton, NH. and the UHaul Staff was Excellent. In 2018 I rented a storage unit from UHaul in Concord, NH and they were also excellent. Today Thursday October 15, 2020 I rented a storage unit from Arielle Vargas at your Manchester NH. Branch. Just when I thought the Customer Service at UHaul couldn't get any better Arielle and all the Employees at UHaul in Manchester NH. proved me wrong. We needed to upgrade our storage room to a larger one, we had to walk around the place 5x and wait like 10 additional minutes to find someone to help us. Then, not her fault, but she was new and did not know anything. They saw us pull in with the 27foot truck, we told them it was completely full, and the room that we were upgraded to did not even fit our stuff. we had to bring more stuff back to where we are staying, which is definately not the point of having a storage unit. I cannot even walk in there, so there is NO way of me finding anything ever until we move it all out. They should be knowledgeable of what size rooms will fit the trucks that people pull in with. If they knew they did not have a unit large enough to accommodate, I would expect them to get on the phone with a different uhaul in manchester or close by and find one that would be sufficient. If that is not possible, youre better off letting the customer know that rather than having an unhappy customer, because now my finace said he will never use uhaul again. and i really am not happy that i cannot go there to look for stuff when i want it. just saying- not completely her fault, she was new, but she should not have been left in that situation, there should have been someone knowledgeable with her until she was sufficiently trained.Sara I. | Premières impressions
