The Rental Pick Up Location was fine. My only frustration was that the pickup location was changed and I did not find out until the day before my reservation. The new location was about 20 minutes farther. There was also a gas return level discrepancy that I believe was resolved but an inconvenience to go through.Chris H.

The 2 racist men came, saw our Black faces worked for 10 minutes., claimed they were both running to get beverages then text me to say the are canceling due to an emergency. This was probably the worst U-Haul I have ever rented. And I have rented many. Check engine light was on from the start. Engine clearly having issues getting going from a stop. Brakes not wanting to engage as fast as they should. This vehicle needs pulled from the streets and sent in for maintenance. I told the people at the center this, so I am curious as to whether did they pull it or are they renting it again today?BRIAN G.

The personnel at the location asked me to maneuver the truck and car transport in tight places while backing up to get the trailer in correct spot on their property. This is a skill that only experienced drivers could perform. It put me in a situation that could have caused damage to the equipment and they said they expected me to be able to maneuver or I should not have rented the truck to begin with. They had many employees at the time that could have parked it for me but they insisted it was me responsibility and were unapologetic about it! My personal usage for the truck did not entail backing up a 15' truck with a trailer into a target space! They should have volunteered to park it where they wanted it instead of putting me through a stressful situation where I was afraid of damaging the equipment!- other than that the facility is above average in hours open, inventory, and location.ALEXANDER M.

We were then given a â€œtemperature controlled unitâ€ on the 3rd floor and the fans were not working because the outlets were on timers. The associate John was very helpful, his counter part was extremely rude. It was 98 degrees outside and took us much longer due to not having the storage unit we reserved and the ridiculous heat on a temp controlled floor.john W.

On June 5 I went into the location to make sure the account was paid up because there was an issue with my card on file. I talk to the manager Doug who was very helpful and we paid up my account through July since we planned on July being the last month. I realize we lost the key to the unit so I had to cut the lock and purchase a new one that same day. Well last weekend I started moving out of my unit and moving my mom into her new place. I received a call Sunday asking if we still wanted our unit, I thought that was odd since we were in and out of the unit all day Saturday and Sunday moving things to our place. Unfortunately we got cut off by the rain so we had to postpone finishing the move. Well today I tried to call them again to see what this message was in reference to. I got in touch with the customer service representative who stated that I no longer had a unit. I figured I should drive by the location to see what was going on. When I got there I found out that they had emptied out my unit and thrown out all of our belongings. What's even more infuriating is that they had already re-rented out my unit that was paid through the end of the month. I spoke with the person at the front desk and they called Doug. Doug apologized and said that he had a lot going on and for some reason I thought because we left the unit unlocked that we no longer wanted any of our possessions that were in the unit. Below is a list of items that were thrown out. I can't in my right mind figure out how this could happen. One call was made to me before they threw our stuff out. I hate this because Doug was great and very helpful the entire time. Mistakes happen but I need to figure out what we can do to replace the possession that are now ruined. My only complaint is the reservation center did not relay my reservation to the site. When we got there, there were no more large units available. We ended up with two smaller units on the second floor- not the large unit we could just drive up to. VERY INCONVENIENT! Especially after driving in from Florida. Manager was amazing and tried to make this right but it took over an hour of our valuable time. Reservation Center sold me an office space not a storage unit! But she didn't have that either. Had a frustrating situation, bit it was handled well. When I arrived to my storage that was assigned, there was another lock on it. The ladies in the office gave me a key to remove their lock that didnt work, so I had to go back to the office. They ended up reassigning me to another storage, luckily next to it. The management and staff at 1400 Sharon Rd. W. U-Haul were always friendly, courteous and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better customer service experience and is my reason for an excellent overall experience rating. Might be helpful if U-Haul addressed the elevator glitch. Oftentimes I could check in with my card at the front gate, yet unable to access the elevator to my 2nd floor storage unit. The card reader at the elevator either wouldn't read my card or would read it and yet the elevator would still not work.This caused the manager and staff to have to interrupt what they were doing to come and help me resolve it. Climatized feature was well below average. Items were covered in mildew. An oriental rug mildewed and rotted. This is Compared to our storage unit at Park Road which had no mildew ever. I had a roll up door get stuck which took 13 months to have repaired. The general manager (not the desk people, but the manager above them) at the time was extraordinarily confrontational. He was retired military and talked to me like I was his subordinate. Fact is - I am retired military as well and recognized the fact that he had apparently not been properly re-socialized to life in the civilian world. At other times the desk people have ranged from friendly and outgoing, to dismal and apathetic. The turnover of employees interfered with developing any kind of good relationship between me and the facility. Having been an eighteen year customer, I would have expected that the staff would be able to at least recognize me to the point that we did not have to wade through my records to establish that I am in fact a customer and just wanted access to my unit. The facilities were good enough (with the exception of the door) but overall a very disappointing experience. Pay people enough that want to make a career there and all of the above could be improved.TODD C. | Expérience générale
