Was told I could pick up at 7:30 when booked reservation then told 9 via a voicemail then told 7:30 when I called to double check. When I showed up at 7:45 location didn't open til 9 am. Location customer service was very nice and helpful just got up earlier than had to and then had to wait over an hour for location to open for pick up. Truck was very wobbly but got the 350 mile job done. I booked a 15 foot truck and was given a 26 foot. Aside from the added anxiety of driving a larger truck 350 miles, I was worried about my items shifting and moving in such a large truck. Overall, my trip went well and the truck moved what I needed. Charge for the number of hours used. If the customer was charged for 6 hours of equipment use, but the equipment was returned after 4 hours, then there should be a lesser charge. However, my charge was the same. There was no refund of money even though another customer utilized the equipment during those 2 hours that I had paid for.GAYLE H.

I reserved a vehicle online but still had to walk through each step when I went in to get the keys. Took way much longer to get on the road than I had hoped and anticipated.MICHAEL D.
Their communication wasn't clear. When I got the keys for the truck I wasn't told that if I come back after hours to check the truck back in via mobile phone or I would be charged 20 extra. That made me very upset. I used a truck that had one of the advertisement signs in it. The gas hand wasn't explained to me no one walked around the truck with me they just gave me the keys and pointed in the direction of where the truck was and I had to pull back up to the door to get the dolly. The staff was friendly but weren't helpful in explaining what the check in process was when being back a truck.VANESHA F.

Had a little issue with miss documentation. The General Manager of this location gave me a call the very next day to address my problem quickly and promptly. We were able to solve the issue quickly and left me happy and satisfied with the results. Staff members were incredibly hard to come by. We were told to look for a truck number but the system didn't tell us WHERE on the truck it would be located. 6/12/21 pick up reserved truck and storage unit. Was told by the Customer service rep. U-haul system is down nation wide. Was able to get a truck but no storage unit once we returned from loading truck. Was offered a 24 hour truck rental. Called and texted 5200 State Ave location 5-6 times and again on Sunday 6/13/21 no response. I think we messed up the convenience of the online check-in process by seeking guidance from the staff instead of attempting to just access the facility on our own. Rather than just walking us through the info we received online, it was as if they started the check-in process all over but did not tell us they changed our access info, etc and they charged us for another lock but we found one in the unit when we got to the unit. Small inconveniences of having to make multiple trips back to the office to figure out why we couldn't get in. In the end it all worked out fine, just not the most helpful (knowledgeable??) staff. Nice facility, less impressed with the staff. Just seemed to go through the motions rather than really listen to customer and assist appropriately. Even inquired about dropping our rental truck there instead of returning to STL area but was basically discouraged from doing so for reasons that felt more like because the staff didn't want to deal with it, than for legitimate reasons. This may be an inaccurate impression, so I don't want to be too negative about our experience with staff. Overall I would recommend the facility to others.tricia k. | Online Move In

They said they left us a message, but there was never any message left for us concerning the change in location. I'm barely 5'2" and it was very hard getting into and out of the cab. Literally had to jump up to the "foothold" before getting in, and getting out I slid down from the foothold til my feet felt the ground. Is there any way to add another "notch to the holdout" maybe? If a customer schedules mobile pickup for 8:00 a.m. before the store opens then have the truck ready for them to pick up at that time period don't tell them to come back an hour later for hand delivery when the store opens especially when they were notified of that before driving to the store to pick up the u-haul at 8:00 a.m.GRETCHEN Y.
The uhaul app is trash. I reserved a truck 2 blocks from the move. It denied me the ability to pick the truck up, then canceled all together. I then got told to go to fucking Kansas while I was in the middle of reserving one a mile down the road. The kids at the state Ave store saved my ass. They get high remarks from a sincere consumer. The company as a whole though is done getting my business. You all did the same shit to me on Christmas morning and I'll never forget either of these instances and I will blow a friend to borrow their dodge ram before I ever spend another dollar with uhaul. Both times you complicated things with buggy software and inefficient support. Fuck you all. Take me off this goddamn list. Tell those boys at State they do a good job, because they do. They're too young to be getting threatened by adults over box trucks. Don't ruin those boys, protect em.JARED M.

Uhaul was willing to work with us and allowed us to use an old office that had been converted into a storage unit. The draw back was that our unit was located inside the store area and we could not access it after 7. When we moved out of unit it became very apparent that no big extermination had been done. We paid for a climate control area which I assumed would mean minimal bug inhabitation but I was wrong! Ants and beetles covered the floor under our things. Robert chambers was always so nice and friendly when I would come in there. Very helpful. Only downside is the stairs to the upper storage lockers. The entire staff there on State Ave. were courteous and helpful to all customers and they had a handle on any situation for the customers needs. Any information about what type of storage was available was answered and all equipment for rental was maintained adequately, plus any propane tank that needed to be refilled for the customers needs were equatable and promptly executed for the customers convince.
