Horrendous service. I placed a reservation a month in advance, and went into the location to confirm the reservation. Showed up, and no vans. No explanation. No apology. AWFUL customer service from the employees. I rent vans regularly, and I will never use this location again. I will be looking forward for contact from a representative as I want a partial refund.JOHN C.

I would've rated it higher. However, when I returned the truck to the location yesterday (around 2pm), I was told by the employee I would be emailed my receipt shortly. It is 8 AM the following day and I have yet to receive any final receipt from the location. I have no idea what the final bill is for the rental.JON S.

We had a 530 am moving van and dolly pickup, but when we got the truck the 2 dollys I rented and confirmed the day before were missing from the truck. We then had to wait until 730 when the store opened to get just 1 dolly, since they didn't have a second. It delayed us at least an hour in our move to have to make the extra trip and to not have the dollys from the beginning of our move in Milwaukee. This caused us to miss our freight elevator reservation at our new place in Chicago and generally made our move from Milwaukee to Chicago so much harder. Unfortunate. The staff was helpful when we called at 730, but our frustration could have 100 % been avoided had there been a close check on our rental information before our pickup.Jasmina B.

The customer service was below average because we had to wait for everyone who called the store and the U-Haul representative that helped us out seemed to have an attitude. Which made us feel unwelcome. Also this time was the longest time I had to wait to get the keys for my rental. I usually just spend about 10min to check out at the location on 1st street and I'm out.KELLY V.

The man name Chris, was very unprofessional. Many times I have been to this location on state street. I would not recommend this store, family or friends.JERMAINE H.
When I went to pick up my reserved 10 ft truck I was told I had a 24/7 rental and was emailed a code for the lock, I was not. I didn't order that service. Someone behind the counter gave me a code that did not work. Both her, my father, and myself tried to get that code to work for an hour. Finally the girl helping us contacted someone at uhaul and transferred my rental to 2020 W State St. All in all I lost 2 hours trying to just get a truck and because of this time delay I didn't have help when I finally got back home. Incredibly frustrating. Will be calling for partial refund.SHAWN W.
We did mostly online reservation, which was fine however the process of getting our vehicle took some of the time that we needed to make our move. Specifically it took about 20-25 minutes to do the final check-in and that time was not made up for when we finally was able to take our vehicle. I am upset that I was charged 25,00 $ cleaning fee when i returned the van rental in excellent shape. Left messages at the 2020 State Street location and online, no reply. I am asking to have the 25 $fee credited back to my card, as there should have been NO fee to clean the vehicle. After years of using UHaull, thinking Budget or Penske today.STEVEN G.

Went to pick up my truck. Ordered a dolly and some covers online along with the uhaul. When I got there nothing was inside the truck and when I went to go get the dolly and covers no one was around to help and the line was out the door. I only had 4 hours with the truck and would have been there for 2. Never revived the dolly or the sheets and got charged for both. Overall customer service sucked at this location.Cody M.

All of the equipment was there but the knowledge of the staff person was below marginal and there was zero customer service. Didn't even leave the counter to come into the yard to inspect truck prior to driving away - I had to come back and forth to get two bundles of pads - she didn't even know how many pads in a plastic bundle. First, the clerk threatened to cancel our 2-day rental because my husband chooses not to own a cell phone. AND they tried to shame him for not having one. Didn't matter that they had my cellphone number as well as our home phone number. Second, another employee appeared and went off on my husband saying "I don't like renting my equipment on the weekend. I need all my trucks in the lot on the weekend", which was CRAZY because we were trying to rent the truck for Thursday and Friday, but okay. So they "allowed" us to rent the truck from 8:00 am Thursday, until 7:00 pm Friday ... doesn't seem like 2 whole days but whatever. Third, they told my husband, if he doesn't get the truck back by 7pm on Friday, they're flagging our file and he's in for it. So here's an idea, if presenting a cellphone at the rental counter is required, and if renting equipment on the weekend is NOT ALLOWED, how about you put that on your website. Then people can decide if it's worth it to rent from you rather than giving PAYING CUSTOMERS a dressing down when they show up to your store. We've rented from Uhaul several times and NEVER experienced this kinda crap. 10 thumbs down on this experience.Charles H.

Your website is awful, your app is worse, and your customer service line is useless. You rent trucks you don't have, then promise a 50 $guarantee, except you deducted 50 $from my account before depositing 50 $thus making my guarantee payment 0 $. I can't dispute that online because there is no option for doing so, and if I call it will be 45 minutes on hold so a CSR can lie to Me. This past rental was a quick move to storage. In the near future I will be moving cross country. I'm already exploring Budget and Penske because I will never, for any reason, under any circumstances, use Uhaul againclaire S.

Approval process took about 12 minutes, which was way too long and very frustrating not knowing whether anyone was working on securing approval or if there was a glitch with the system. The staff working this morning was great. Very quick and helpful. A woman helped me and two other customers with service the counter she did a nice job walking me thru the process after I couldn't get my website login to work. A man was also working who assisted a woman behind me while I was being taken care of and he helped me checkout and return the vehicle - really polite and helpful to the both of us. The issue is not the location, the issue is U-Haul in general. Chris the GM is a great, and did everything he could to accommodate for us! However U-Haul has a whole, is a horrible company. Customer service is horrible. I spent numerous hours on the phone with reps who were not able to resolve any issues. I originally booked a 15 ft truck 3 weeks in advanced. For it to be cancelled 3 days before my reservation. The location decided to change my pickup location and put me in a 10 ft truck. Which was WAY too small. We had to come back the same day 2,5 hours later and pickup a second 10 ft truck. Completely ridiculous, I will never book with you guys again, and I will tell all of my friends and associates about this horrible experience. Once again, nothing against Chris because he did everything in his power to help us, but on a cooperate level, U-Haul needs to reevaluate there customer service skills and accommodation skills. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTEDLINDSEY R.
Thank you to State Street Uhaul for accommodating me on same-day, short notice. The contact free, app-based vehicle pickup was really neat and allowed me to stay on schedule. The after hours drop-off portion was slightly confusing when I inadvertently missed a number of steps and dropped the key into the night box before completing them (pic of fuel gauge, dashboard, etc) Other than that it was a positive experience that I will do again and recommend to others.Timothy E.
