Do not make reservations that aren't available. Make sure trucks are available at the location the customer chooses so the customer doesn't have to waste time and money trying to locate a truck. I'm definitely going with Penske after this U-Haul nightmare.Tom B.

I was assisted by Rico and Don. I didn't get the managers name, but he was there and also quite nice. It's a tough neighborhood and some of the customers are tough to deal with... some don't want to be in the neighborhood, others are tougher than nails and not altogether reputable themselves. The staff catch unnecessary crap from both sides, even in the short time I was there. Rico and Don maintained professionalism and patience under varied circumstances and seem to be great representatives of your company, working and taking the environment in stride.Tommy M.
The equipment Irented according to both your website and your incredibly helpful sales person at the I 65 Service Rd. store, I was advised would fit the car that I was going to pick up. However after driving 125 miles and renting a vehicle just to pull your tow dolly and the vehicle back I found that the vehicle would not fit your tow dolly the vehicle that I could not get to fit your tow dolly was a 1996 Jaguar XJS. I called your one 800 number on the way back from my destination to advise them that the vehicle would not fit on the tow dolly. The operator was very helpful and advised me that I would not have to pay for the tow dolly and someone from the local branch would be calling me the next day. I received an email that my card was charged for my rental and I received no phone call. I instigated a phone call to someone there at the store on Highway 90 who advised me he was â€œone of the managersâ€, that his computer system told him that the car would fit and therefore I would receive no refund for the equipment, if I had a problem I can call customer service and file a grievance or some sort of form. I advised him I had already spoken with customer service the night before there should've been plenty of notation on the file and I wanted my refund. he advised me he couldn't help me any further and proceeded to hang up the phone on me Weber I said are you being rude his voice began to get elevated and more hostile as he continue to advise me he wasn't going to refund my money and was going to hang the phone up on me. After decades of renting from U-Haul and having nothing but stellar encounters with both the employees and the equipment I was shocked that I receive such treatment from this person working at the store on Government Street at the loop. I didn't have to spend another hour and a half on the phone to file this grievance for these charges after having already done that on my route back from the destination where I was picking up the Jaguar. i'll total the trip cost me an extra 250 $not including your equipment then I could have avoided had that your equipment been properly noted to not fit this vehicle.William A.

I did an in store reservation about a week before I needed the truck, utility and appliance dolly. They did not have the appliance dolly. The store manager blamed it on the COVID virus? Seriously? What does lack of equipment have to do with a virus? I have used U-Haul numerous times over the years this is not the first time not having enough equipment. It was a problem with the alignment. I called them. I asked for change the truck. They have like 3 more trucks. They told me no more available. I something happened in the way of Fl. Call road assistance. That was there answer. I am a us army veteran and served in Kosovo. I'm used to driving truck over there and I never has this experience. This one was the worst. Contact free mobile pick up and return at this location is awful. Attempted to pick up and website was not processing correctly. I had also made a storage unit reservation on Aug 5 for a unit that the website for this location stated was available. The day prior (aug 20) to arrival I received an email requesting a rent payment by aug 25 for this rental reservation. Upon arrival I was told they did not have any available units. The employee was kind enough to find another location with an available unit, but it was farther across town (in turn costing more mileage) and the entire purpose of renting a truck at this location was to return it here when unloading our belongings into storage. Upon return I had no website issues. But as I followed the websites directions to park the truck and complete contact free return via mobile, a very rude associate named Bo approached the truck asking what I was doing and that I was supposed to pull under the awning. I informed him I was doing the mobile return and was following the instructions on the website and read those instructions to him. He yelled from the parking lot into the truck â€œno I said to go under the awning!â€ I stated that I chose contact free pick up and return and my instructions were as stated. He replied â€œwell I said to pull under the awningâ€ and proceeded to have a terrible attitude and was increasingly rude. I pulled the truck under the awning and he left while another associate came out. The second associate stated this location was making all returns be done by associates because people had been hitting other cars when parking the trucks and the store was having to reimburse people. This also made no sense as I had safely and appropriately parked the truck prior to being yelled at to move the truck back across the lot to the awning. This would not have been an issue if the employee had handled this in a professional manner and given any kind of reasonable explanation as to why I could do not the contact free return as I have many times in the past. I am a nurse and attempt to limit my exposure to people and businesses as much as possible during this pandemic. I do this for others safety and to have someone so blatantly ignore someone's wishes to use the contact free services offered is negligent and disrespectful. Furthermore, I was not allowed to take my own photos of the mileage or gas level and was told a photo copy would be sent to me, this did not occur. I will never do business with this location again, I have been a long time customer of Uhaul and have never experienced such terrible customer service.Mackenzie S.

This was the best experience that I've ever had with U-Haul. I was sent from another location and had never been to the Government St. location. We reserved a 26' truck for use on Saturday, August 7th. We arrive that morning to pick up the truck and are told that there isn't one available, that the person who has it, has yet to return it. Another customer is leaving out and said they would be back at noon and the employee confirmed that we could have that one. At noon, we arrive back at the location to pick up the 2nd truck we were promised, to find out that it is not available either. The only option available to us now is a 12' trailer. At this point, it is halfway through the only day we can move so we have to take the trailer. We arrived in a car without a hitch, so we had to go get our second vehicle to be able to use the trailer. We were offered a discount on it but after being jerked around and having to come to the location 3 times and leaving empty handed twice was infuriating. We will not use Uhaul again. None of the employees seemed to share our frustration nor did they want to help with a solution.Justin M.
2nd time we've used it. However this time our truck was not returned in order for us to pick up at 9am. It was 2pm before we got it. Gentleman told us at 9:00 that we would receive some extra days and a 50 discount. However when we picked up truck at 2pm was told nothing would be given. Extreme inconvenience!Kenny A.

The customer service was good, but the truck was raggedy and needs a front end alignment. I felt that I should have been given a 20$ credit, and that's because the truck was wobbling. This isn't a reflection on the workers, its a reflection on the company, maintaining their products.willie M.

Experience started off pretty negative. Was assisted by a rep named Rico who was extremely rude and unprofessional. The system went down as he was running my card information. Rico proceeded to loudly tell me that my card was declined and that I needed to check and see if I had enough money to cover the truck. There were several customers in the store that heard this exchange. I tried to explain that I had the funds to cover the transaction but he would not admit that it could be an issue with their system. Bennie saved the day and took over my order. It turned out that there was an issue with their system. I have never been so publicly embarrassed. Rico never apologized or showed anything other than horrible, terrible customer service. He just kept saying that he just wanted to eat his breakfast. I would use this location again, but only if Rico was not involved in my transaction at all. If I was a business owner he is absolutely not the kind of person I would want representing my business. Bennie was very helpful and apologetic, but it did not make up for Rico's lack of basic human decency.aryn C.
ALWAYS get a paper copy of your return receipt: The pick up and return of the trailer I rented went great. . The employees were very nice and helpful and since I was only using it for the day one employee even let me borrow an adapter for my truck lights. Great people. My issue started two days later when U Haul called me wanting to know when I was going to return the trailer. I told them I had returned it and who I had talked to. They said they would take care of it but Then two more days later I got another call from U Haul wanting to know when I was going to bring the trailer back. I went by there after work to talk to them and again they said everything was taken care of. I checked my email and never found where they sent me a return receipt email so I.will always get a paper copy in the future.Lance U.

I was not told there was a location change of my uhaul. I was given an address, got there, and they told me I was at the wrong place. The guy on the phone said he would add a dolly free of charge and an extra day free since I booked with them. This was not true. I had to pay for the dolly and extra day if wanted. The light in the cab of the truck didn't work neither did the lock go lock my things in the truck. I had to come out of pocket to buy a padlock to secure my items overnight. The manager of the place was more worried about playing on his phone than helping me check in my truck after moving.TERRAH O.

As noted in the comments about pick up location, when I arrived to drop the truck, it was showing I never had picked up the truck and they were not able to locate my account to process the return. They went above and beyond, looking up the truck and trying to contact the place where I picked up the truck. They finally spoke to someone who was rude and said they'd have to wait til the next day to handle the issue. So they hung up the phone, and apologized and went out of their way to show hospitality and assured me that they would get the issue resolved and I did not have anything to worry about. They said I could leave the vehicle with them and I was ok to go.Daniel H.
