I would have given my experience 5 stars as the service was excellent and the truck worked great, but NO ONE informed me that I'd be charged $20 extra dollars for an after hours key drop off. 1 tire had only half psi needed, I had to return to the moving center 10 minutes after pickup when dashboard warning came on. They did not have the utility dolly that I reserved, making my move difficult.

Wasted the effort to use the mobile check in, and after your website wouldn't recognize my zip code, i went inside to check in but only with attitude from the girl who was really busy with the chick-fil-a delivery driver delivering her breakfast. The delivery driver received better customer service than what your employee offered. She couldn't be bothered to try and explain why the mobile check in wasn't working, she was too busy stuffing her mouth with a chicken sandwich. After I got my truck, the guy who pulled it up to the front didn't even acknowledge my existence; instead wished the girl a nice breakfast. I said thank you and he just completely ignored me. When I went to drop the truck off, there was no one in site. After 5 minutes, I gave up and just left the keys in the ignition and went home. Real great business you guys are running there. 🤦🏻 Absolutely no management effort on anyone's part. I know y'all a corporation and don't really care in the end, but damn, at least pretend?

Its not necessarily the location but the pick up process. I used the contact less pick up option as it was supposed to "save me time". Upon arrival there were so many additional steps required that could have and should have been done prior such as: taking my photo. Photo of both sides of my driver's license, adding additional contact person. This ALL could have been done when I set up the reservation. After all the vehicle inspections and photos I STILL had to go inside to get the keys! So I had to walk back and forth across the large parking lot 3 times. Once I finally got into the vehicle neither the dolly nor the furniture pads were inside the vehicle so once again I had to go back into the office. This ended up taking way more time than the traditional pick up process.

I had an old and valuable antique oriental rug in storage. I recently moved into a larger dwelling and when I unrolled the rug there were larvae all over and a great deal of the rug was damaged, possibly destroyed. This was a family heirloom that apart from monetary value, had great sentimental value to me. I'm heartbroken this beautiful reminder of the home I grew up in and 3 subsequent homes of my own is so damaged. I've never seen a single instance of this during my 25 plus years of owning and using this beautiful piece in my home. I'm greatly upset about this and heartbroken.

There was a reservation error. The centralized reservation system gave me lockers that didn’t exist at this location . I had a lot of stuff. The Tropicana staff worked fabulously with me during a very stressful time and gave me everything they had for space. The manager, James Beck, made things very reasonable in terms of cost adjustment. All the staff were pkeasent and helpful.

After being a loyal customer for nearly two years they decided to increase my rate, even though they still advertise and offer the same rate to people who are currently signing up. So they basically try to squeeze more money out of customers who have been there a long time, but continue to offer the same size unit to new customers for the price I had paid all along. I guess they are banking on customers being too lazy to move out. I called and left a message asking to discuss the issue with management and he never even took the time to return my call. Apparently U-haul is more interested in short-term profit than brand/customer loyalty. I found a very nice, brand new storage unit nearly twice the size (10x15) less than a mile away for basically the same price I had been paying U-haul. I may have no choice but to use the services of u-haul at some point in the future depending on where I am, but I can certainly tell you that it will never again be my first choice. I will shop around and likely pay more for a competitor's services if they are available before I ever resort to using U-haul again because I don't want to support a business whose business model is designed to "reward" customer loyalty with predatory practices.

On arrival 1245 we had reservations to pick up ubox and close out. Upon areas we were told no trailer was available. Was told I was to unload ubox into another truck by myself. Manager was called “James”. He instructed dre assistant manager to go to another location pick up trailer. We got to out designation by 3 to find out they kept our key, so we had no access or choice but to drive back on Sunday before 5. We called to see if allocation were made bc we received key after 6 on no tine to unload. A day lost and we were charged $195. We were helping homeless veterans for thanksgiving and that never happened. But we were charged and the staff was less than accommodating but attitudes rude. Please refund the entire day.

Alexi, Dre, Austin are over stressed. They were rude and not helping the already stressful matter. We went to pick up a reservation Ubox that we requested a day before and no trailer was available on the day. Lexi said the assistant manager was on lunch but went to talk to him 2x. Said I had to wait bc he could not talk to me because He was on lunch with a stern attitude. She explained that there is nothing he can do. Oh but I could take a truck and unload it by myself because they don't do unloading or a trailer. She then spoke to a homeless man who helps them name Bruce about my situation “whispering to him as if I was a problem and not present”(breach of my information). So I chimed in to finally ask who he was and he left me his number with professionalism offering his help for financial benefit. His professionalism was More than Dre and Lexi offered. By this time she told me to take the card with James name and call him that she would be inside if o needed her. Here comes the persons walking pass me from the Ubox storage area. I said are you Dre bc my reservation was not ready and Iam the customer that Lexi just....He stopped me, “He said can I clock on”. Woah. “ I said sure” now the time is ticking. He comes back out with arms crossed at wrist. I ask was he the assistant manager bc he did not act managerial at all. I said as a manager my self it would be nice has he said Lexi told me your situation Mrs Davis, I will be back to assist you iam clocking in.I explained why I need my Ubox which is a mute point bc it's mine and Iam done and this is the service provided by Uhaul to arrange and store Public items. This felt like a mom and pap shop-where training and customer service is void. I explain the conversation I had with Lexi and how Bruce a homeless mover was so much more professional and caring than Lexi. Dre said “that's his job” ,huh Dre?, this is your job. By this time that comment made me realize Dre was just matching witz with me nor a solution by this time. I got my husband (who made reservation) on like conferenced call with James the MANAGER. What a breath of fresh air. He tried to make thing right via phone. He was off and was working by lookin the computer to find a trailer and instructed Dre to go get one from another store and bring back. My 12:00pm pickup is now 3pm when Dre arrived back.Austin was the one yesterday who assisted (lack of ) with giving the James number to my husband that all this will be done and ready hmm. When I ask Austin his name he walked passed me saying without care MyNAME IS Austin. My husband gave cookies and$tip bc we understand they were stressed. Well as we left to our destination with keys to truck and Uhaul lock, we thought . Our purchase Uhaul keys didn't work. My Husband called back to get Female and she said we are closing soon. We ask for keys she put the phone down to ask male if they had them. He said “yea”. We drive back 30 minutes text James and he was baffled offered $50 off and said they don't keep our keys. Well they did.... now it is dusk Sunday 5pm. They put an envelope in an open Uhaul truck with the keys. Now 6pm. They let us keep the truck for another day. This representation of Uhaul is reprehensible!!!! I was preparing a home for veterans to move in before thanksgiving. That did not happen... I would like a call back 8133680547 from Ceo/corporate who understands the code of customers as a manager.

The people working that day were not kind. I assume it's because there was a hurricane and they weren't happy to help me unhook in the rain so I understand that completely. They were quite short and unpleasant in tone and with instructions on where to go and driving driving. I was even told to “wait outside” once. I apologized many times of the timing but didn't know another way to do it. Again, I think it was because of the weather and I basically required them to go out in it so I understand their reluctance and frustration in getting so wet.

The smartphone afterhours online pickup method was awful. I wasted 20 minutes trying to take pictures and scan drivers license. The webapp used too much memory, wouldn't accept pictures, restated itself, would accept button pushes. After 20 minutes, the store was read to open so I use in-person services. Unfortunately, that wasted 20 minutes caused my entire morning schedule to be disrupted. I would never use it again.

I had to rent 2 trucks in 2 days- both last minute reservations. The truck size i was looking to rent was available at this location. The staff quickly set me up with a truck on both occasions, despite being quite busy. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. They all seem to work well together as a team. We received two one month rentals after moving to the area but were told that we could only use one of those months because the first month would make us a customer voiding the second month. After finally agreeing to use one month we went after store hours to pick up some items from our storage only to find that there was a staff lock on our door with a sticker stating we were being locked out of our unit due to failure to pay. This was only 2 weeks after setting up everything with the one month free! When the staff put that lock on they put a second sticker on our lock, stating that it was an invalid lock yet it was the same style lock that the staff used to lock us out. At no point during any of this were we informed that the lock used to secure our belongings had to meet specific criteria. We were also never informed that we had been locked out of our belongings unit arriving after hours only to find we couldn't get in. As a result we were forced to make a last minute scramble to empty our belongings from the unit before the month ended.

We have that unit for approximately seven years and never had any significant problems. We needed to downsize and there was not a smaller unit available at this facility so we had to go elsewhere. The only other issue that ever came up was I was in the hallway on the first floor just asked the office and sometimes they would have deliveries that were stored in someone blocking my entrance but the staff will always take care of it for me.
