Inside of trailer had dirt that I had to clean prior to putting my bed in. The checkout process was really odd. Not only did they ask for a backup number, but they called it asking if it was OK to be a backup number. My wife had no idea what was being asked of her and the clerk had to ask three times. Then she had to call my number, I had to answer and state my name. Of course my phone was in the truck so I had to go get it, in the rain. I have never had this type of requirement for a rental.William W.

After I picked up the vehicle and drove away, the vehicle kept stalling as if was going to run out of gasoline. I stopped to get lunch before loading what I wanted to move and then the vehicle would not start up. I returned to Uhaul to get another truck and explained the problem to the person that checks in vehicles and he told me to park on the side and report it inside. While I was going towards the office, a lady that was walking by told me not to go inside but to check in outside, I told her that I person checking in the vehicle told me to go into the office, then the lady yelled at me and told me to check in outside and not go into the office. When I went into the office to explain my problem, the lady that yelled at me outside, was telling the other people that I was some kind of stupid because I did not follow her instructions, then the person that had given me the truck told me to go out and check in the vehicle and did not provide another truck in exchange of the truck that had problems. I paid for nothing and was treated as a second class citizen. I am a United States Air Force disabled veteran who served this nation for more than 20 years and deserve better treatment than that. None of the individuals in customer service displayed any professionalism. I will never go back to Uhaul at Tulane Avenue in New Orleans. Very respectfully, Dr. Manlio V. The Young lady has very rude and had much attitude like she didn't want to be at work she gave piss poor Customer Service the elderly lady try to take over with my order that had a reservation prior to my arrival and that was my very first time ever going to that location I will not return.lisa D.

I understand the need for security and I have heard of people stealing trucks etc, but I've never in my 40+ years of renting from Uhaul gone through so much red tape to rent a truck. TSA doesn't put you through so much. It was truly unbelievable. Is it because if that particular location? Is that a hot-bed for crime or false identities? Luckily I had the time to kill but it was simply astonishing what I had to go through.CHRISTOPHER P.
My email confirmation stated my pickup was 8:30 AM on Sunday, but when I arrived it turned out the location didn't open until 9 AM. Then, the front desk employees didn't arrive until 930. By which point there was a long line of frustrated customers already waiting. By the time I receive my key I had been at the location for 1,5 hours. Then, when I returned my truck 40 minutes over time, I was charge for an additional day of rental. The manager, Brandon, is refusing to give me a refund on this additional $80, which is much less courtesy than I showed his employees and location for keeping me waiting around for an hour and a half. I am not able to recommend this location to anyone, and after this I may not be able to recommend a U-Haul to anyone either, despite having used their services routinely over the years. I hold out hope that upper management may be willing to rectify the situation.Brendon P.

Double charged. Returned vehicle well before required time. Agent doing check in assured me that didn't have to stay. Felt uncomfortable so I took a picture of me leaving truck at 1249PM. Sister got a call at 341PM stating we never returned vehicle. Called U-HAUL numerous times and the answering service could not get the front desk to call me back or even answer them. Horrible Customer SERViCE. Now I have to make a third trip to office to speak to manager for their bad service to get my credit card charges revised.PHALBA A.

The worst service and confusion, I have ever had to go thru. I was charged for a exchange rental that I had just rented no more than 30 minute earlier. after waiting 45 minute in line with reservation. I don't plan to rent from that location ever again.GERALD C.
Very slow both picking up the truck and purchasing boxes and supplies when placing the order. Location appeared to be understaffed and had staff that were not excited to be working. Order was placed online for boxes and supplies and when I came in to pick up the order I was told that I would have to find the items myself. An employee did end up helping me but I needed to carry the purchased boxes to my car myself. When picking up the truck on moving day I arrived at 11:10 AM for the scheduled 11:00 AM pick up. I had to wait in line until 11:45 AM to pick up the truck this was inconvenient because I had movers waiting for me at the house at 11:30 AM. I was also charged for two moving dollies when there was only one dolly in the truck. I am not sure how this happened. I appreciate the supplies (very good quality) and the truck (ran well and did what was needed for the in-town move) but the service was very poor and the location was understaffed. I would use UHaul again but would not return to the same location or recommend this location to anyone else.BENJAMIN D.

The practice of including a bag of moving pads(apparently in all of the trucks) and not warning the customer that if there package is opened, they will be charged, is deceitful. I ordered 12 pads and didn't think twice about using what was provided in the truck. I didn't count out how many I was using so I didn't realize that there were more than 12 pads in the truck. Only when I returned the truck with all of its contents and a full tank and walked away did I get a notification from my bank that U-Haul just charged me extra money! I tried to get my refund right away from the sales associate and was refused and also belittled for trying to explain that this was wrong of them. The pickup was fine and the inspection guy at drop off was very kind but the sales associate at drop off really ruined my rental experience. Next time I will choose a company that is more honest.Mark G.
The trailer I rented was not very clean. When I returned the trailer there was a very long line and only one person working. He removed the trailer from my truck and told me I could leave without checking out. I took a picture of the trailer just sitting in the parking lot. 15 minutes later the trailer was checked out and marked late and I was charged and extra day for it. I plan on calling and contesting this in the morning.Jason D.
The lady working the desk was a delight. 2 of the men working outside were on personal calls and very rude! I walked up to 1 of them and waited for him to acknowledge me. My exact words were, "excuse can you yell me where I need to go to pick up the trailer?" His response was over there (never pointing or giving me any direction. I then asked who do I need to show the contract too. His response was me or him when we feel like meeting you over there. Not professional and rude!!AMY S.

Customer service at the desk was truly awful. The woman checking me in was rude. During check in she started yelling at the only other customer in the building that the boxes he was looking for were right in front of his face. The cargo van smelled like cigarettes. Reserved a 4 bedroom storage or 4 room storage and when I went to put the furniture in the storage unit was a closet. I talked to the manager Brandon Pierre and he was very rude and said that's all they had available. I stood talking with the associate before he even came out the office and his office is literally one step away. We went back and forward about the storage not being a 4 bedroom unit. He said the person that helped was working from home and didn't know what sizes the storage units are, I told they should have knowledge of anything they are selling from uhaul. Brandon gave me a refund on the storage but I feel I should get a refund for the truck that I used and loaded for nothing. Tulane Ave. UHaul is very unprofessional and unorganized. I reqested a furniture dolly and a hand trk on my. The uhaul store said she didn't have the items...hand trk was already inside vehicle. Really needed dolly to move heavy furniture. I asked where to park my personal vehicle. She answered right out front. After I parked my vehicle another worker requested I move my vehicle way behind the building. Then I was issued a truck that was blocked by other trucks and was unable to properly inspect or move for 15 minutes. Noticed while loading the Load deck plate was loose causing a tripping hazard.Gregory W.
Didn't drive out of the lot until 45 min after my reservation time. Reserved a Hand Truck and was told I could buy one if there wasn't one in the truck. Passenger Side Mirror was shattered making it unsafe to drive. Cargo area was Wet when I picked up the truck. Employees were swearing loudly in the parking lot about other customers. Only person who seemed to be helpful at all was the gentleman who I left the truck with. I did not get his name. I've had multiple poor experiences at this location.MORGAN M.

They had the wrong wheel / Trim on the right rear of tow trailer which caused two blow outs that required two more tire replacements. It was not the weight of the car it was determined that it had 3 of the same tires and rims/ wheels but the fourth wheel/rim was different which sat in to close to the body of the trailer. 3 Hours or so delayed trip!HAL H.

Terrible experience!!!! This location needs better customer service, cleaner location, better uhaul inventory . I went to get my rental and was told it was not available. Instead, I was offered a larger truck, but was told I was responsible for paying for the upgrade and that I could only use it for 2,5 hrs, I originally booked for 6hrs. When I went to retrieve the uhaul, the staff had a hard time locating the keys. I had to ask 3 different staff members before I received the key. I went to inspect the uhaul and could not close the back door to it, so I had to wait 30 mins for the staff member to force the door shut. When I inquired about another truck I was told either I take the truck or would have to reserve for another day. I had to pay additional fees to my movers because of this inconvenience. Just an awful experience and I'd honestly like to be refunded as I incurred extra charges from my movers due to this location.PATRICK W.

Brandon P. is a great manager. He helped me out tremendously when I needed for my boxes to be delivered and that was no longer an option. He also assisted me with speaking with Uhaul reservation because I was charged for a storage fee when my Uboxes had been emptied days before and I shouldn't have been charged. Brandon is very personable and U-Haul should do ANYTHING to keep him at that facility.Akilah J.

When changing over ownership about a year and a half ago, within 10 minutes someone backed a U-haul truck into my car and caved in the driver door. The reception was unhelpful and said they could not check security cameras and I was given a contact number to call. No one answered this number or responded to my voicemails. I assume that it was the business that backed the truck into my car, it cost me a $500 deductible. I am giving excellent because the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I do have a problem because in the description of the storage unit it said 5xx8x10 and it is not that it is 5x8 at the front but it drops down to 4 or 3 foot. I really needed a storage unit as advertised. I will need to get into the storage unit often. I do not want to have to go and have to remove everything or close to everything just to get items out and put it all back just have to take it all out again to put it all back. I did not say anything the day I took possession because I was extremely tired and did not want to lose my temper. I hope that we can work something out because honestly it is misleading and I expect better of U-Haul.Patrick W. | Premières impressions
