The staff were great! Initial intake was slow due to the person being on their cell phone, but getting the rental van and dropping off was lovely. The gentleman who took to truck from me escorted me under his umbrella to my vehicle due to some crazy rain! Very much appreciate their customer service!Sheila R.

I rented a dolly, they had dolly with brakes. The knew I was doing a 500 miles trip and never told me he had an option with brakes and when I asked he was very rude saying that he already gave me the one and there was nothing he could do. Worst costumer service ever.Bernardo C.

I received a truck with oil in the bed liner but I didn't know it until I was ready to load items, it just looked shiny & I thought it was clean. It wasn't until I jumped in the back, slide & almost fell that I realized that it was oil so I called the location & asked if I could swap out the truck, they were very rude to me but said that I could. I brought the truck back & asked if the new truck would have a full tank of gas because I had just put 50 $in the other one when I had picked it up that morning (before I knew about the oil) & they said no they don't do that. I said well am I just out 50 $& the assistant manager said I'd get reimbursed & I said great, how? He said I'd have to speak to the manager because they don't know if I put the oil in the back of the truck or the person before me! Unbelievable. The new truck that I received had moving equipment in the back which I asked to have removed because I didn't ask for it or need it. It was in almost new condition on the outside unlike the previous truck which had a huge dent on the side & scratches however it had low tire pressure & smelled like an ashtray inside. The smell was so strong that I had a sore throat by the time I got home. I found empty Newport packs stuffed in the bed liner when I was cleaning it & I had to keep the windows down the entire time that I had the vehicle & I kept a small thing of baking soda inside to try to absorb the smell. I returned the vehicle a few days later & it was cleaner & smelled better than when I had received it. The staff again was very rude, they couldn't even bother to say hello let along make eye contact (I guess I interrupted their dinner). This was one of the worst experiences I've had with uhaul & I will never use that location again. The staff was completely unprofessional, the parking lot had trash everywhere, the inside of the store was dirty & cluttered and the vehicles are not being cleaned or maintained.Trey M.

I am not sure if this concern has reached the right location as it crosses multiple aspects of my reservation. In short, I think the 50 $credit may apply and if not should still raise serious concerns with the reservation system. It started with being booked for a truck and tow trailer at bigelow blvd pgh. Bigelow indicated they never have trailers due to space constraints & although I did not take a screen shot I recall it was "guaranteed." To be fair, I did get a text in a timely manor changing locations of which due to technical difficulties I was not aware. I ended up going to bigalow & got the update. That was on my end not yours; however, I arrived at the new location Washington blvd and they did not have an available/rentable pickup truck and was apologetic and offered a box truck that was available. I understand that things happen, but ultimately the delay and rain the next day resulted in me postponing my task. Not your fault per-sie, but it was a wasted rental. See miles used.Lynn E.

Overall bad experience with Uhaul customer service. I called to change my reservation to extend one day and change drop-off location. The person on the phone told me they could extend the rental but in order to confirm new drop-off (Brooklyn instead of Kingston, NY) someone would call me a day before pickup. No one ever did. When I went to pick up the truck, it turned out my rental had never been extended. When I told the person there that I wanted to drop off in Brooklyn instead of Kingston they said the location I wanted to drop off at was "not showing up in their system" and to just "call them when you get to New York." This didn't seem like a good plan. A day before dropping it off I called Uhaul again. They told me they weren't sure why I was told to wait to call the drop-off location, and that dropping off in Brooklyn instead of Kingston should have been cheaper but she could do nothing for me or give me any refund since the truck had already been dispatched. Altogether confused and bad customer service that ended up costing me extra money. Because of the screw up I asked if they could at least allow me to keep the truck a few more hours without getting charged an extra day. I was told there was no way they could do that. I returned the truck a couple of hours late and was charged the extra day.Dagmar W.

The good part about UHaul on Washington Blvd is the large number of trucks. Also, the staff was there early in the morning. The bad part is that the staff are trained to penny pinch the customers. When I was asked how many miles will I use, I said 2, and then they wrote down 5. When I left I noted the mileage at 37. When I returned it was 40, so 3 total. They continued to write down 5 and I had to tell them twice more it was 3. Also, about the gas. They told me it was full in the beginning. It was not. It was at 7/8. I did put in one gallon, but then it still did not go to full. I told them this and then they said that I should have told them before I left that it was not full. Then why did they tell me it was full? Other than the penny pinching, the staff was courteous.S T.

The service representative wasn't very attentive, seems like he was wasn't well. The passenger side mirror wouldn't adjust, got on the road and it popped into a position that didn't show the view of was behind me; if not for the short trip I would have returned for a replacement. The AC controls didn't work, stuck in one position. The window handle on the passenger side was hard to turn. As a customer I expect basic items like side mirrors and AC controls to be operating correctly and I shouldn't have to test them to be sure they work.Arthur C.
It rained during my move. I rented a 10-foot truck. The rain seeped under the outside roof and down the front wall, particularly in the corners. A number of my boxes nd there contents absorbed this rain water, so some of my possessions have now been lost to water damage. Undertake regular maintenance checks to protect against leak.Frank B.

Customer service was very difficult to get in touch with . My gypsy moth checklist wasn't working and it was hard to determine who to ask about it. I was also required to call in at several instances, which meant waiting on hold on the phone for 30 mins minimum, when it would have been much easier if setup could be accomplished online.DEREK M.

Don't get me wrong. I love U Haul and have been renting trucks from you guys for as long as i can remember. I do have to say, the storage rental experience with you guys was not a good one. First off I reserved an outside/drive up unit but upon arrival i was informed by the girl at the office that there were no more outside,drive up units available and was given an inside 2nd floor unit and was told this the only unit available. There is a set of 12-14 steps you had to climb to get to my unit. This was excruciating having to move a three bedroom house having to climb these stairs with home furniture. This facility should be equiped with ramps. You guys supplied carts but what's the use of carts when you have to climb a flight of steps. Long story short this made for a very long and strenuous moving day and another one on the move out. Install ramps guys PLEASE!!!Ronald M. | Expérience générale
