The young guy receiving the truck when I returned was a challenge. The truck smelled like cow manure. It stunk! I would have brought it back immediately if I was not on a limited time frame to move an item. The truck needs steam cleaning and should be taken care of upon my return. It had less than 7000 miles and it was the worst smelling truck I have ever rented from UHaul. The guy told me it did not stink and all he could smell was a new car smell. He even said he wasn’t going to argue with me. I wasn’t arguing, I was informing him of the smell or that someone had crapped their pants on the seats. My daughter in law was with me and she was bothered by the smell, as well. Disgusting!

The truck I rented was reasonably clean ... although the interior windshield did need a good clean-up. The box of the truck on the interior was clean and the exterior had been washed. Truck drove reasonably well - but the front end / steering was a little loose - perhaps an anti-sway link or something in the front end suspension could be in need of repair / replacement. Truck had 110K miles

The actual u-haul return was ok. But we also rented a storage location at the drop-off site, and the staff acted like they couldn't find anything in their system and made us show multiple receipts and emails to prove that we rented one, and weren't very helpful. In today's tech world, I think the staff should simply be able to look my account up and verify everything needed.

My only criticism is your policy of not providing prorated months to tenants who move after a partial month. You guys can earn double on the space for a number of days. Seems like an unethical policy.

The storage facility is infested with rats! Their droppings were everywhere. It was so bad that I was forced to dispose of my sofa upon moving out. I could not bring myself to sit again.

Several times, the check in/out system did not work. I paid for extended access, and when the system didn't work, I couldn't access my items. On one occasion, I found the outside door wasn't locked.

The manager is hostile, the after-hours access sets off an alarm every time because they will not fix the card reader, and the staff never picks up the phone even when there are no customers in store.

When we went to empty the unit we had to move our truck during the process of loading to make room for someone else, when all the staff had to do was move a personal vehicle. Very inconvenient for us
