ARIC ALEXANDER M. | Expérience généraleUhaul had stated that my rental rate would not increase after being rescheduled due to truck availability, but my rate did increase. Uhaul rescheduled my rental for the incorrect date and I had to correct their error. Uhaul never called to confirm my rental even after stating multiple times that they would make sure I was called. I have changed my Uhaul profile information multiple times to include ONLY my email and phone number and yet for some reason Uhaul's system wants to revert to old information and forwards all emails and calls to my wife instead of me. When I arrived at the location to check-in, I was told the utility dolly I had reserved was not available. I was informed that the insurance rate would be dependant on how many days I had reserved the rental for, but then was later told that it was a package of 2-days regardless of how early I returned the rental. Every Uhaul customer service representative I spoke with was utterly inadequate at their position. No Uhaul Call Center employees seemed equipped to answer simple questions or offer alternative approaches and often stated information which was incorrect. The employee at Uhaul Waverly who helped with check-in (Chris Hennigan) was apologetic and helpful, but I was on a limited schedule and could not take the time necessary to resolve all of these issues immediately before departing. When I entered the truck there was trash (opened soda cans) in the cab and the a/c was intermittently shutting off initially. I hope to never require Uhaul's services again.

FRED T.I had reserved a covered trailer a week ago. I had a great experience with one of your employees and Mr. Brian Davis. He was kind polite and very professional. The pick up of the trailer was very smooth I was out of there within 10 minutes. The drop off of the trailer was even smoother I was out of there within five minutes and both times Mr. Davis assisted me. Because of the service he gave me I will use this U-Haul facility all the time. Thank you Mr. Davis for making the experience go as easy and as smooth as possible.

McKenna K.However good the pick-up experience was, I still wouldn't have taken the time to leave a review except, some 100 miles away and 1/2 a day later, I was treated with respect and courteousness again, this time by a young man who I believe was checking vehicles in. It was as if he knew we were tired and hustled to get us checked in and out the door. I felt he was concerned for my time. In addition, at $126 (I think very reasonable plus a little gas) and my daughter is moved in for law school. I will never go anywhere else and will endorse 1 000 %! Please try and at least let these folks know someone noticed their excellent representation of Uhaul! I don't have to tell you that you are only as good as your front line, and judging by these two, Uhaul is strong!!

I originally made an in person reservation online, and was printed to switch to a 24/7 reservation, so I did. 2. When I attempted to pickup the truck, the process to pickup the vehicle would not work until I was at/near the location. Once I was there, I was told that I needed additional verification, so had to drive back home to get my passport. 3. After I had done that, I completed the check in, but was not given access to a truck, and could not find information on the website to do this. 4. I then called customer service, and was rerouted to a different phone queue (with an additional wait) because I called uhaul customer service versus uhaul 24/7 customer service. 5. I was then told that I needed to drive to a different location, across town to pick one up, since my reservation was only for an in person pickup despite having been prompted by the website to change to a 24/7 pickup. I was also told in that conversation that my reservation would be switched to a one way reservation, since that would be more efficient than paying the added mileage due to the change in location. 6. Them, when I returned the truck, and tried to complete the return process through 24/7, it said that it would charge me $1/mile for the mileage. Which was not the same as the $.79/mile my original reservation was for, or the one-way, with no mileage charge that I was told the reservation was being changed to. 7. To their credit, when I explained this at the uhaul location, they corrected the issue with no problems, and were much more capable of handling the issue than the 24/7 service was of accomplishing anything whatsoever.

RAMONTOMASANTONI B.I rented a 5 foot wide trailer to move something from one place to another. I questioned before I left the Uhaul dealership on whether it was actually 5 feet wide. When I got to my destination and had to load the trailer with my cargo that is one piece and 57 inches wide, I realized it wouldn't fit. The trailer that they gave me was 4 feet 4 inches wide. This is absolutely egregious. The last time that I tried to rent a vehicle from the same place on a Sunday morning, they didn't have the vehicle in stock. As I was moving my elderly mother from two hours away closer to my home and there is not another place that you can rent a truck on a sunday morning, it was quite inconvenient. I reserve the truck or trailer and pay for it in advance and it's not there! What is the point of reserving something if it's not there? I am more than willing to pay in advance to make sure that the vehicle is there. Sure, Uhaul paid me 50 bucks due to the inconvenience, but that doesn't matter. 50 bucks is not worth scrambling on a sunday morning trying to get my mother's belongings moved to her new apartment two hours away. It's just ridiculous that they continue to do this to people. If there was somewhere else in town to rent, I would check them out. The good part is that the people that work there are super nice, friendly, and helpful. It's not their fault that the computer/corporation has screwed something up. The manager, Brian Davis, is a super helpful guy but some things are out of his control. So, in essence, the people that work there are great. The computer/corporation policy of trying to placate you with 50 dollars is ridiculous.

Carl S.When signing up I was led to believe that all I need was my phone. There was an issue and I had to go inside the facility to receive my keys. The pickup procedure took a while which ate into the time I had allotted for the vehicle. The drop off procedure was very speedy, though.

In my encounters with her, she provided excellent customer service and professionalism to a degree I am not used to in these modern days. I could not say enough good things about her. She should be the head of Customer Service training for your organization. At the least, she deserves some recognition for exceptional attention to the needs of your customers.

The GM NEVER returns any messages or calls!!! They can't do nothing right and always gives you wrong information and over charging me. Now I'm fighting to get my money back for a storage that is empty and had been paid for, for 30 days!!! Horrible customer service

When I went to cancel my storage unit, I was told by the local Waverly facility that my unit was not rented, and in fact was empty. Obviously not true , if anyone cared to check. The staff at Waverly were incapable of correcting this, and I never rec'd a call from the manager, despite the Corp. Office's assurance that he/she would.

I had a few interactions that weren't super pleasant -- staff seemed distracted or uninterested in helping. When I returned the U-Haul, no one came out to assist me in the return process. When I went inside to ask for help, there were two people working -- one was helping a customer and the other was stocking shelves. The person stocking the shelves, which I believe was the manager, walked past me saying nothing and didn't offer to help. Please work on your customer service skills. If someone comes in and the other person is helping someone else, drop what you're doing and help the customer. It's pretty basic stuff.

The truck worked great, the drop-off was easy and fast, and the employees were not unkind. I wanted to get a storage unit at the same location I dropped off the truck, and the first month of storage rental was free with a truck rental. Thus, I hopped online to U-Haul's website, pulled up my order, and reserved the largest storage unit at the Waverly location in Lansing, Michigan using my free month of rent. I received a reservation confirmation for a 10' x 15' x 12' drive up storage unit. On the day of the move, when I was told I could obtain the unit, I called ahead to confirm the specific unit was still being held for me - they verified that it was. When I arrived with the full truck later that day, I was told that there were no 10' x 15' x 12' drive up storage units available. It was communicated that my reservation email from U-Haul was without value and that the best unit they could give me was a 10' x 10' x 10' unit (thus lowering the value of my free month of storage, disregarding my carful efforts to reserve and confirm a large unit, and putting me in a difficult situation for unloading my 20' U-Haul truck that day). In the end, I was able to stack my belongings into the smaller unit, with much difficulty and rendering nearly all belongings inaccessible without unpacking the entire unit.

I had to call three times half hour on hold each time. Was then told I had to come in to office to sign papers. I had already moved 3 hours away. It took multiple calls to resolve. Additionally, I was surprised to see a rodent trap in our bin and will be checking to see how and who will be periodically checking the trap for removal of any rodents since I am the holder of the key for the lock? There was no mention of this when we rented the bin.
