Check in was a nightmare. I tried to do check in on my phone, the vehicle I was assigned was given to someone else. I had to wait 30 minutes in line to get to the desk and be told I had to make a new reservation. Blame belongs both to the location and uhaul as a whole. The online check in process should be more reliable.

Our first trailer rental was cancelled, and we had rented it before the website had the disclaimer about rentals. The gal that called was very rude and didn't offer any suggestions or solutions. The website is horrible so it took us forever, but we were finally able to find a 15' truck, as we didn't need a bigger one which was also way more expensive and U-Haul, a multi-million dollar company, apparently couldn't afford to offer us anything. We had to drive 70 miles to pick up the truck, plus the 70 miles back to load it, and we weren't even offered more mileage or days. To improve, just help people and don't be rude about it. Take into consideration that there is a pandemic and people are having to travel to pick up a U-Haul, and offer more mileage or an extra day.

If a customer makes a reservation for a teuck you should have it available. Moving is already stressful. Making reservations then showing up to only find you dont have a truck available then having me spend half a day running around to different locations telling me that a truck is ready for me then when i get there no truck is available is completely unacceptable and very poor customer service. And dont get me started on your associate that yelled at me until she was red in the face. I was very dissatisfied and stressed out after my experience with uhaul. I literally had an anxiety attack. I most definitely will not recommend uhaul after the experience i had.

They tried to add a dolly and pads to my rental i was moving a mattress they said that's what was on the reservation. I looked at my emailed reservation it didn't have it on there, I stopped it when they was loading the dolly asked does it come with the rental or was it extra. Not sure if U-Haul promotes that or it was a local thing they do.

Was told mileage was unlimited one way. When went to return the truck to Bakersfield (drop off location) from Lancaster (pickup location) was charged an additional approximately $55 due to going over the mileage. I am highly upset at the misinformation provided and lack of customer service. I put in a claim/complaint (ref# 2931055) in which was denied. Due to lack of assistance and customer service, I will not use U-haul services again in the future. I have requested review of my claim/complaint by a manager!

Have trailer ready for customer prior to pickup. Had to return after 2 days for pickup due to no brake lights on left side of trailer and worn tires. Pricing was outrageous. 16 day rental from California to North Carolina was over$1900.00.

The online check-in experience was fast, helpful, and easy. Mobile pick-up and drop-off were similarly efficient and simple. The truck was in great shape and easy to use. The back of the truck did have the STRONG odor of cannabis -- we didn't see a need to complain, but the odor was noticeable throughout the entire rental experience.

Please make certain to check all vehicles when returned to you for signs of cigarette smoke. Every time I rent a truck from U-Haul, they always stink of cigarette smoke even though there is a no-smoking sticker on the dashboard. U-Haul needs to do a better job of enforcing this policy.

This was the 3rd time I rented trailer at Uhaul White Lane. This location was too slow. I waited 2 hours to be able to get out of this place. In the last rent (2nd time), I waited more than 2 hours and they can't fix the trailer broken signal lights. I ended up going to a different location to rent a trailer. Plan not to rent at this location in the future.

Customer service was rude, combative and yelled at me in the parking lot to move the vehicle that I was returning to another spot that was not only unavailable was inaccessible. I told them to move it and I was told in no uncertain terms "no YOU MOVE IT!!!!" I was yelled at. I refused to move it attempted to hand over the keys they refused to accept them so I dropped them on the ground and left. I will NEVER rent from uhaul again. You just lost a 25 year customer.

The return agent told me I had used the pads which I had not. I used Meathead movers to Lisa's and unload the truck and the used thei own pads. The return agent went so far as to break the green seal, which was still intact, to prove how easy it broke. It took him considerable effort to do so indicating it had not been tampered with however he still charged me. I don't care so much about $5 as being called a liar. I will not be back. The pick up agent that helped me in the morning was courteous and very efficient.

Large clean location with every rental type in stock both trailers and trucks, unlike some other smaller locations. The multiple check in counters made it fast and the lady running the place there was super organized, professional and helpful. This place is the best location in Bakersfield, period. Thankyou guys I will rent with the white lane location everytime in the future.

The check in process is odd. Go inside, check in, go outside get trailer, go back in, sign contract, go back out, note issues with trailer, photograph and text. It needs to be streamlined in my opinion

The cashier was very rude. I rented a trailer and it was already hooked up to my truck. I was told to simply go through the side door. I approached the cashier and she was very rude. She made me wait in line for almost an hour even though I explained the situation to her. She was telling other customers to simply come back once their trailer was hocked up and that they didn't have to wait in line yet she made me wait. Never going to that location and not recommending it to any friends or family.

We checked out a uhaul on the website and checked in early, only to come in to the store to a huge line and had to wait close to an hour. Several people in line were frustrated & complaining loudly. The assistant manager Donna then said they were short staffed because another worker didn't want to come to work, she said this in front of multiple people with no apology. The service inside was very slow & very frustrating. I looked forward to an easy experience, especially in such a stressful time as moving. All in all renting a uhaul was the most stressful part of our moving day. The young gentleman we returned our truck to was super helpful & nice, Donna was working inside & again was not helpful & slow yet again. I won't be returning or ever recommending this place to anyone.

Originally reserved 6x12 trailer for another location closer to need. Call from Uhalu that there were no trailers unless i drove 30 miles out of town to pick up. Agreed to change to 10ft truck. received email conformation of reservation. Arrived 15 minutes early after driving 140 miles and was told no equipment available for me. that requesting on line is not a reservation. even having the confirmation did not seem to make a difference. they finally took one of four sets of keys for a 10 ft truck off the wall and finished the rental. NOT a pleasant experience.

I made a reservation a week in advance and when I arrived they did not have a truck for me. I had to wait 5 hours until they had a vehicle. I understand things happen, but I had made reservations that couldn't be changed. It was an inconvenience. This is the only time this has happened.

The process was difficult. When your card system malfunctioned and your clerk told me the process was canceled I dropped my arm/hand in frustration. The area was boxes made a lot of noise. Your clerk, who mumbled for everything else challenged me and reminded me I didn't need to take it out on her and I need to stop if I wanted to rent the trailer. I reminded her I was not taking anything out on her was frustrated. She was rude the rest of the transaction. Not interested in going back to that location

I went to the White alone location THREE TIMES to pick up a 26 foot Uhaul that had been reserved in plenty of advance notice. I had a team of 10 people ready to start loading at 815am. I paid them for 3.5 hours for doing NOTHING while I waited on a Uhaul since the one I reserved wasn't available. I ended up with a 15 foot Uhaul, and 5 trips later I ended up paying an astronomical amount to my moving crew, and still having things left in the old residence. At this point, it would have been a better decision to go with a moving company because Uhaul's incompetence caused me to pay out a fortune. As if that weren't enough, most of the employees are incredibly rude. I doubt my comments will be made public, but I sure hope so.

Answering the phone is OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM, I called from 4:00am until 11:00am befor I got a person to talk to this is INEXCUSABLE PERIOD ESPECIALLY SINCE I DID SIT ON HOLD 20-30 at a time. Also at the actual location. WHY IS ONLY ONE PERSON SCHEDULED AT OPENING? That is stupid people do come in first thing in the morning and you do NOT HAVE ADEQUATE COVERAGE, I guess when you a big company customer service IS NO LONGER SOMETHING YOU CARE ABOUT.

The inside of the trailer had sand (like from the beach) and small trash in it. We had to sweep it out before we could use it. We were also shorted one of our 24 blankets. Other than that it was good and the people were very helpful and efficient.

I think is some bullshit that I don't get any credit for having more fuel in the tank when I turn in the truck than when I received it. Had it been lower you would have charged me exorbitantly I'm sure. I know it says so in the contract beforehand, but it is not very ethical. It'd be fair to just make sure the tank is full when it goes out, then there's be no issue as long as it was returned full. Your current policy is anti consumer.

I tried to use the mobile pickup and it gave me a truck that was in the shop. I explained this to the guy that was in the lot, and he said he would ask the manager. The manager said she was too busy and I needed to get in line like the other people. The people who work at uhaul are rude and why anyone would ever use uhaul is beyond me.

I got the complete run around over the phone, every time I spoke with a representative each one had a different quote and mileage fee, also I choose one location, and they tried to send me to a location across town! After that I reserved a 15ft truck, and they told me they must be out of 15 ft trucks that someone changed it to a new 20ft truck saying when this happens it's because they ran out of smaller trucks, and wanted me to pay the additional fee for more space that I did not need, so I said why should I have to pay for a upgrade I do not want! So I was getting ready to cancel the reservation all together, and then all of a sudden a 15ft truck is available at the original location I choose! Saying this to say, they don't tell you that they have 3rd party rentals which are over priced, than renting from a official U-Haul place, but they want to make the most money off you, so the kept changing my location multiple times, until I put my foot down, so do your own investigation and compare quotes from different location before making your reservation, hopes this helps someone.

My unit was tampered with once and broke into the once. When they broke in, they totally ransacked everything. They were not able to get anything on camera because my unit was in a "blind spot". There insurance did not cover anything because the they stated that I provided proof of insurance. I did not have my own insurance. There was also some female living in one of the units at the time. They gave me 3 months free rent but after two months they began to charge me again. I was moved into a new unit that was by a camera. I kept my belongings there a short period longer and moved.

Autopay did not work but we tried to fix it MULTIPLE TIMES & it still failed. Staff treated me like a deadbeat even though it was autopay not working (exception: Amanda). I expected better from U-Haul

I noticed after all my belongings were cleared out, how “clean” the empty storage space looked. No bugs or vermin droppings...I had never even thought about it before-my things were kept “bug free”!

The door I had to get into my storage was small. I was told that it has a way to keep it open, but it didn't. Your free storage should be large enough to fit the size of the truck rented.
