The process I had to go through to get receive a U-Haul after I had already booked it days in advance was ridiculous. I called to confirm the day before that my U-Haul will be ready at the Germantown Avenue location and they confirmed it would as long as someone would bring it back at 8 AM like I asked. Then the next day it's not ready my reservation has changed to 10 AM pick up and I called to confirm and the man who answered the phone told me that I had to call back at 10:30 or 11 because the U-Haul manager wasn't in. This is well past my appointment for the U-Haul. Then once I talked to him he told me that it wasn't going to be ready until like one or two maybe if the person brought it back which was not applicable for my timeline. After calling to around multiple places someone finally gave me scheduling‘s number to contact where they set me up with a place to go get one at 11. Then after driving 30 minutes to this new location I was able to get a U-Haul after speaking with them for another 30 minutes since the person in scheduling made the appointment for the wrong time. Your system needs to not double book people and be up to date

The first truck provided had a fully flat tire that was not serviced beforehand. When I mentioned the flat, the person sent to try to fix the flat, they moved the truck to the service zone and stood around playing on their phone for about ten minutes. They then disappeared for another twenty minutes before returning to notify me they were providing me with another truck. Upon inspection of that truck, we discovered the back to be muddy because it also hadn't been serviced. All in all, it was a frustrating start to a long day of moving, but the employees were courteous and ultimately helpful. UHaul is convenient and well priced, I just do not intend to go to this location again.

My customer service representative was superb. Her customer service skills are impeccable!!! Kind, helpful, caring, accommodating, and more. If I owned any business, she would be my top manager. She needs a promotion! Not sure of her name, but she was young, 20's, black woman, about 5'5 and thin. Give her an Award and promotion. We need more like her in the customer service realm of businesses.

The customer service was very poor. When I arrived, a woman was on her phone and made us stand there for about 5 mins before acknowledging us. Once she did, she was incredibly distracted. She passed us off to another person who was able to give us a bit more attention, but was still striking up conversations with his coworkers and would stop doing what he was doing for us to get our vehicle to speak to the other guy. It took close to 25 mins of standing there waiting for them to focus on us enough to get our vehicle. Oddly enough the woman that started with us got us the vehicle and was kind handing the key off (still on her phone). I would recommend working on focusing on a customer when they are in front of you.

I like the location and how easy it is to use. What I dont like is the new rule Im a women and at times I do come to the unit late and now I have to unload outside and try to get my things in late which makes me feel unsafe now I wish they change it back.

i REALLY LOVED THIS UHAUL LOCATION, ESPECIALLY THE LOADING AND UNLOADING ZONE. THE ONE TURN OFF I HAD, WAS WHEN I CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER WITH CONCERNS ABOUT MYBILL. The only thing that I did not like is My online price for my unit was 49,99 $ plus tax for a 5×5. They did not honor it. I was charged 54,99 $ plus text. I was told that they didn't know why the website does that. Then I was told the 54,99 $ was the tax but my monthly fee on my contract is 59 $that's a lot of tax. As soon as I am able I will be moving my things to the original company I had a reservation. I changed changed it because of the Uhaul price I got online and it was easier to unload my Ubox. I only stayed because of 1 free month. I sent an email about my concerns and I haven't gotten a response.

I usually use uhaul on Allegheny Ave and loved everything as soon I I used Allegheny west I had problems over and over and when I came to clean out my storage they had a lock on it that wasn't supposed to be there. The girl apologize to me and I cleaned out the storage turned in the key and lock and the next month I get a bill saying I'm late and i owe all these late fees when I closed my account the month before. I will never use them again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else do

The customer service was poor. They did not go around and look at the vehicle before or after we had it and then claimed two days later that we damaged a window which we disagree with, and charged us without any evidence an extra 150 $. Next time I will be taking my own photos.

Aljon was a very friendly and pleasant young man who assisted me on Sunday, May 9, 2021 (Mothers Day). He went over and beyond to make certain I found the storage unit and did it with a smile. But this is not my first visit to this site. I currently and began using this facility to store my son's items. I have found all the employees who have assisted me to be very friendly, helpful, and conduct themselves very professionally even under very busy and stressful situations. Unfortunately, I wish that while I am filling out this comment form that I could reach Brian Phillips the Field Manager of the Philadelphia Area, and make a comment about the U-Haul Facility on 4663 Stenton Avenue/Ming Storage. I am very disappointed with the way business is handled over there; very sketchy with handling their affairs of over-charging, and the building storage definitely needs a total overhaul of a makeover. The floors are so flimsy that it makes you feel like you might fall through them the moment you step on the floors. I have had a couple of bad experiences with them and I feel that it isn't a good reputation of what U-Haul represents. This is the second time I had to escalate an issue to Mr. Phillips and he had to authorize a refund for this place trying to rip me off. First, the storage on January 9, 2021, and then because there wasn't an available van for moving at 2801 Hunting Park the customer service told me the closest was 4663 Stenton. I figured that my first experience in January was enough, but to just pick up a van couldn't be too bad...but oh, it was. When I returned the van, children were at the front desk playing to the computer and handling my business and the manager who took care of me in the first place was nowhere to be found and the children have the phone to contact him as if they were a liaison to doing business with me. Only to find out the next day I was overcharged for my mileage and the original order that I put in online to save time was canceled and the manager created a new one when there was no need to. I had come in with the paperwork and confirmation that was filed online. Again I say, sketchy and not upfront honesty is delivered at this site. So my experience with 4663 Stenton Avenue/Ming Storage - first time "Shame on them" and they made me a believer the second time to "not do business with them "EVER". So traveling a little more distance to 2801 Hunting Park is worth my time and money, for sure. I do hope that Brian Phillips gets to read this comment that I took time to fill out. Merci.

Have the employees know the company policy.....I had an online reservation that required me to just come inside to get the keys to my truck rental. The person at the counter made me wait in the line and waited on two customer's who were making reservations in the store. After I repeated multiple times that I had a online reservation they finally realized all they had to do was just hand me my keys so I could leave.... I wasted almost 20 minutes for nothing, and they didn't even apologize for making me wait in error.

Trucks that are reserved in advance at a location should always be available. People depend on this when planning for a move. This order was successful but it was a replacement for a smaller truck on a different day when I ordered the first truck a month in advance and was told 2 days prior that no truck would be available.

While the staff tried their best to assist me, I got stuck in the elevator because the swipe access times out before the elevator comes and opens. The staff was unable to figure out why. Checkout took much longer than it should have given that I had made a reservation online.

Uhaul itself cancelled my reservation and the General Manager was MIA for about 1hour with 8 customers in the building. I had to go and get the young lady who was cleaning the trucks and she thought he was inside handling the customers needs. NOPE. She came in the building and started to handle us in a great professional way. She's isn't miss beat. That was the best part of my experience. She made it work for me. Got me another truck different size but still met my needs. General Manager gets 4 ðŸ'Ždown.

This was another outstanding UHAUL experience. Pickup was easy and fast, the trailer I rented was easy to tow and everything worked as it should. Lastly, the drop-off was fast and easy. This is the BEST Uhaul place in my area (2801 Hunting Park Phila, PA 19129) because they have such a variety of things to rent I have rented from them at least twenty times and will continue to do so and to recommend them to friends. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. However, when I contacted the General Manager, Brandon Donovan he was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. The store experienced a flood and I didn't know the facility was still open. I contacted the 1800 number and then the manager specifically for this information after I had not heard back two days later. I explained that the streets surrounding were blocked off and he called me a liar. I told him "instead of calling me a liar why not explain to me how to get there." When I began naming the entry points that were all blocked off, he said he refused to help me and he hung up the phone unnecessarily. I had to contact his supervisor for an answer to a very simple question. On move out day, one of the seats in the truck ripped my pants, I spoke to a staff member who was extremely helpful and gave me the number to file a claim. The staff member said I could speak to the GM about it but I didn't even feel comfortable doing so after our first encounter. This certainly changed the way I look at Uhaul and I highly doubt that I'll be using them anytime soon.

This was by far the best uhaul experience i've ever had. Clean store, great vehicle, and tremendous customer service. The employee who helped me with my rental, Yanni, was prompt, polite, and personable. The only negative thing I can say is that I wasn't able to thank Brandon Donovan (store manager) for the phenomenal experience. You can tell a lot about someones character based on how they run their store, and from everything I saw and experienced, it is clear to me that Brandon is a class act. I would drive 3x the distance to go to Brandon's uhaul over the other uhaul stores i've been too, because the service was that much better. Keep up the great work.

This location was fine the truck that was given to me was horrible !! The only reason I had to keep driving it was because I had a crew of people helping me move that could not wait. The truck had an engine light on for one. Then when I pressed the break it sounded like I was revving up the engine. It was scary to say the least! I don't even believe I should of paid for that.

There was a road closed near the uhaul place and the only way around was 2 blocks away and that area was a little shady but the actual uhaul place was great and the staff was amazing!!!!

I think you need to hire more experienced drivers. Upon delivery and pick up both individuals could not put the uhaul in spot or get it out and we had to assit in directing them and when they picked up today Could not get it out and my husband who is recovering from a recent heart attack had to assit in pushing after close to 30 min of her trying to get it out and calling someone for assistance I think that more practice not just in car but with actual uhaul container in residential areas is needed so they can practice how to move wheel and get in and out of spots granted it wont fix everything but i think it would greatly assist as you can clearly see they had no clue which way to turn wheel etc

Nobody knows where to go because the main entrance is blocked off and theres wooden signs with spray paint pointing you where to go. And this is after you have to drive onto the sidewalk to go around a road block.

Our reserved unit was opened to find someone's belongings in it. We had to get a larger unit since there none left of the size we reserved. This was happening while I had hired help there to unload my truck into the unit. I have called the general manager's cell phone twice to request a temporary reduced rate for the unit we took to make it comparable to the unit I had reserved. He has not returned my call. The staff at the desk were friendly, but had to handle many customers and were not able to address my request. The facility itself is nice and clean. Eventually, I hope I can provide a stronger endorsement.

You should rent the trailer hitch, but instead, I was charged 450 $to install.... I have no need for it.... You hit someone in the pocket , while they stress a move already....This is JUST WRONG.

There is no concern with the facility. However each time I have come to the location, it always appears understaffed. Wait times are long, and what should be a seamless process especially when you have a reservation takes an extended period of time.

Poor Staff Cheating and Dishonesty Didn't had the truck I ordered and then tried to just abuse my need for a truck. Still waiting for 50 $reservation fee Cleaning fee charged for a clean truck (without telling or communicating anything), the truck went out again within minutes (without cleaning!)

There is no improvement to be made. After being service in other uhaul installation except the location at 52nd Lancaster Ave. This location at Huntington Park is exceptional. They will continue to receive my business and the business of my friends and family.

I went through three changes trying to get assigned to a unit. I was assigned then reassigned then assigned again. Then I was called 2 Days Later to reassign again and I was told to come in and told to move my stuff to another unit upon which I refuse to move everything because I felt it was the responsibility of whoever was managing to move it for me because they were not assigning effectively it was not my responsibility to come to move. This was a harrowing experience.

The person helping me had no idea what he was doing. He cost me an extra 100,00 $ trying to figure out what to do instead of asking for help. My movers charge. 124,00 $ an hour. It was horrible.

I was assigned a locker on the third floor that had no card access so I was never able to reach my things till the office was open I complained and nothing was done so I moved my things out the storage unit!

The process was confusing, I ended up paying double, I'm still unclear about so much. I was told one thing while setting up storage and I got there and a totally different process took place. It was great right up until the end. I wanted to rent a truck to move out my things. Although my driver's license was renewed and unexpired, due to Covid I only had the paper license showing the renewal and 2024 expiration date. PA allows the paper to be carried with the old photo license to show proof of id. This, however, was not accepted by the manager to rent a truck and he offered no other solution to rent a truck. Despite paying 200 $/month to Uhaul via auto pay for more than 2 years, I could not rent a truck from UHaul to move my property. Uhaul's shortsightened response to my situation forced me to make other arrangements to move my property.

I was contacted a couple weeks after moving my belongings In that there wasn't a lock on my unit. After a brief conversation I told her that the number on the contract wasn't the number she was suggesting was mine. Every week after they would call me and say the same thing and I would keep explaining to them I have the contract right in front of me.

This was my first time there no one escorted me or show me how to work anything upstairs they showed me about the cards when you get in the building on the elevator all that no one came to the storage unit per say I couldn't get in the storage unit then she gave me another unit on another floor I couldn't get up to the floor cuz you never gave me your number card it was a whole message depressed me and I had to stay there for almost 3 hours with someone for it to come to y'all is it y'all policy to show them what they getting out of work it Etc

The office hours are convenient but there was not nearly enough staff to run the busy days like Saturdays. Although I had rented a 6th floor unit online, there were none available when I got there. The manager gave me a unit # for a 6th floor unit, but when I came back with the movers a few hours later, that unit had a lock on it. The office was extremely busy and it was difficult to get attention to the issue that I had no place to move in. William was able to find an open unit on the 5th floor and helped the movers get access to both the 6th and 5th floors since now they needed to bring full carts from the 6th floor to the 5th floor. With the busy office, the moving of floors and the overall confusion about the unit I ended up using and paying the movers for at least another hour. Additionally, that morning when I picked up the 15' truck the manager had told my to avoid the waterlogged bay and drive through the garage door. However, when I tried to do that the clearance of the 15' truck was too high. The manager who rented me the truck should have known that.

First: the staff was great, friendly, and very helpful. The card I was assigned to get access into the building didn't work. After numerous of failed attempts, I was given another access card, didn't work. Staff member enter their code so I can get access. I gather my belongings and go to the unit, it was locked. I had to wait for team member to remove the lock. Face to Face with team members: Great! Overall Logistics of the Building/Access: Failed!

I moved from NYC to philly so I emptied my storage unit in NYC and wanted to transfer my stuff to this facility. After making my reservation online- I called the facility to discuss office and access hours given I would be arriving in Philadelphia later in the evening- the person who answered the phone hung up on me 3 times mid conversation. She also did not offer me to try to set up 24 hour access by paying 10 $extra and told me "don't show up here before 9." I thought that was unprofessional. When I got to the facility at 9am I had to wait 2 hours in line prior to getting my storage unit. Very disappointing. I had to return the U-Haul Trailer I had rented and due to the wait my time went over and I had to pay another days worth of rental costs. Overall I thought the communication was poor and customer service lacked professionalism. Although the young lady that helped me at the counter when my turn finally came was very nice.

Brandon and his staff were truly accommodating and made my experience of renting a truck and storage facility a good one. They explained all the charges, there were no surprises. I was frustrated with UHaul and vowed to NEVER use them, but Brandon reversed my mind about UHaul. I guess not all UHaul's are the same. Everything went well during the time I utilized the storage facility. The only issue was upon my arrival to my destination with the items I kept in storage I noticed dead roaches and live roaches on my belongings. This was disturbing as I had to get my new place sprayed before I could continue.

The facility itself was ok with the exception of the fact that we were never told that there would be a huge pillar that occupied a large majority of our space. Also when we tried to cancel when we called the gentleman left us on hold for 40 minutes. Then when I called back he said he would look at our storage and make sure it was cleaned and call back in five minutes. He never did he also said we'd get a full refund bc it was the day we cancelled was the day we were charged and I never heard back from him I had to call my bank to figure the charge and ensure the cancellation. Horrible horrible customer service

I had 2 U-boxes and 1 Storage Unit at U-Haul of Allegheny West. My experience with everyone at this facility was extremely pleasant. All were accommodating, very helpful and friendly. I was particularly impressed with how the office personnel managed a busy time, efficiently handling each customer's needs in a positive, competent manner. If they did not know the answer to a question, they were happy to do the necessary work to find out. I have dealt with many U-Haul facilities (West and East coast) and Allegheny West has been the best! Merci

The staff was excellent in providing good customer service. I enjoyed the cleanliness which I give this u- haul a 10. I recommended 2 customers checking out and my cousin moved in on Thursday.

The customer service From Brandon Donavon was poor. Both delivery to my house and the pickup from my house were late. Lacks phone educate. Perhaps a class in developing customer service skills.

The movers were great. The only thing bringing this grade down a bit was that the architecture of the building has several columns where getting a true 10' room is difficult.

Location had changed since I was last there the entrance had moved there were two workers but only the female worker knew how to work everything this made for a long wait to be served

The entire U-Haul storage box experience was a nightmare. No one in any dept. could tell me where my box was located, and everything Cust. Serv. reps told me to expect did not happen.

The staff was racist made derogatory remarks about me threatened and harrassed me..I would not recommend this uhaul to anyone I know and would strongly oppose it to anyone thinking of going there.

I am a new customer here. I am not happy with this facility at all. They are infested with roaches. When I told the manager he just stated, Yeah we know the exterminator will be here soon.
