I have rented a U Haul from the North Chester location several times, this time I tried the cellphone pick up. It took longer than if I had to do busy face to face. Next time given the option I will rent a U Haul the old fashion way.

I was over charged 23 dollars for gas, after disputing they agreed they made a mistake. He then had to issue a refund for the full balance which would take days to get back. They manager on shift, first very unprofessional. He talked about how the new people messed this up and how he hate they put a new girl on shift with him on a Friday. How the general manager took off work to go to her sons graduation and how she didn’t have to take the whole day off. How he might quit today. He mispronounced my name, after correcting him he makes a joke “I’m sorry, I’m not that hip. Like what can be hip about my name which I was offended. Then he told me I shouldn’t be upset about $23 because it shouldn’t make or break me. When I informed him, that I had just moved so yes that was money that broke me. He said well there’s nothing I can do take it up with the bank. Which I have no problem with the hold but the overall experience was horrible he’s was rude I felt disrespected and from his smart comments from my name to the amount of money I had, I felt like he was being prejudice. The poor new girl was being mistreated he saying things under his breath about how she doesn’t know what she’s doing. Her name was Kirsten who was there also for this rude interaction. This by far is the worst experience I ever had with uhaul. And I’m requesting some type of apology and my refund because I’m truly upset. Honestly my whole experience was a breeze. I had made a reservation for a larger trailer but I decided once I got there I wanted a smaller one. The saleswoman was like not a problem within a few minutes I was off without any issues thank you uhaul for a wonderful experience.

Larry, is helpful. He had a name tag, knew what he was doing. There is a new guy there, younger, tattoos on his arms, no name tag, did not know how to use the computer or even how to hook the trailer to the ball or how to fix the wiring pigtail so it would not drag. I asked Larry about this guy and he said the tattoo guy is new and needs training but Larry said it is not his job to train him. Larry said the owner/manager does not understand that this new kid needs training. When there is a line of people at this location, Larry is the only guy who can help the customers. Shut this location down for a week and bring in U-Haul trainers to train the staff. Oh, give Larry a raise to at least $20 an hour or make him the branch manager. No one took pictures of the trailer or connection points before I left, no one verified that trailer lights and signals were operating. Last thing, I give you my driver license, credit card, you have my phone # and address, you do not need a second contact as I am not some bum or thief.

When renting equipment make sure locks are removed from the trunk. I had a horrible experience due to lock being attached to truck an had to drive all the way back to N.Chester hoping someone was there after business hrs to remove lock THANKS TO DOUG because I wouldn't have been able to move The return location didn't have space when I got ready to return it I wasn't awhere of that, so I had to drive to White Ln location it was VERY unorganized an I was still charged for there MISTAKES not cool

Nobody told me that if I took the trailer after a certain time on Monday they would of charge me for a third day and the lady that help me out when I was returning it was a little rude after i told her that nobody had told me anything about that and just kinda race her voice at me and told me that I had it for 50 hours out of the 48 I dint know two hours was to much to ask and like I said nobody told me that if I dint drop it off at a certain time on Monday I was gona be charge for extra day and two hours its not even an extra day and I live like 40 min away from were I rented the trailer also

They have several (7) trucks out of repair. It was disappointing to see this crew work so hard to make me happy just to find out that because of uhaul open gate policy. Meaning it has no guarded trucks or equipment. They are continuously vandalized and their equipment is missing. Larry and his crew are amazing. Their backup of equipment missing smog and tires and just is plain abandoned by the Company they represent Is a bad company NOT taking care of their equipment or their employee from a Hostel Living Enviorment. UHAUL Company needs to protect its equipment. UHAUL needs to stop all the vandalism that its stores are subject to at closing Hour in N. Chester Lane, Bakersfield. I was only there 2 years and these guys just bang their heads. They are very accommodating and efficient considering they have been just flat raped by their surrounding environments and totally let down by the UHAUL COMPANY they represent. They were extremely apologetic. This is personal unsolicited observation. I have rented Uhaul over 20 years. I have never seen anything like this. This crew is amazing concidering what they daily are subject to. Get UP TO DATE UHAUL. BACK YOUR PEOPLES AND EQUIPMENT SAFETY. Personal observation. UHAUL LOCATIONS Needs gates and better protection. Its wrong to have such a total disregard for your Customer safety and timely repair of UHAUL Equipment, I have seen this in 5 locations looking for a truck. I would never blame these representatives, they are subject to the RATH OF UHAUL BLATENT OUTDATED RULES AND LACK OF PROTECTION. COPS HAVE OTHER THINGS TO DO, UHAUL COMPANY HAS TOTAL DISREGUARD FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT SAFETY AND VANDALISM POLICY AND YOUR LOCATIONS. OR YOUR REPRESENTATIVE FRUSTRATION.

I originally was going to go to a different location. When I pulled into this location, the gentleman working was sweeping out a different truck but greeted and helped me right away. He checked out the vehicle and finalized my contract within minutes. He was kind and friendly and the experience was a nice way to end my day of moving. Thank you so much!

I dont believe I will be recommending UHaul to anyone. I selected the Saco Rd facility to rent from online. I selected the trailer icon and picked the trailer I wanted and completed the reservation. When I showed up the facility was closed. I called the Uhaul line and explained what happened. I was then transferred to another person who I had to explain everything to again. This person had an attitude and thought I should know the Saco Rd facility doesnt rent trailers and they dont open until an hour after my pick up time. Sorry, it's not my responsibility to know the capabilities of each site. I went to the N Chester site which the person on the phone said was where I reserved it from. When o got there the registration process was long, even though I pre checked in. We went out to the trailer and there was debris in it so I had to wait for it to be cleaned. Once it was connected I had to go back inside to complete the rental. While checking out the amount owed said $60, plus the rental fee. They kept telling me it was ok just to sign it. I refused several times until they told me I couldn't rent it without signing the $60 charge which they said wasn't a real charge. I finally agreed because I really needed the trailer. They then put the card into the system and it didnt go through. The guy helping me asked the other lady what to do. She looked at me and said rudely, do you have enough money in your account! She then took over for the guy and finished it without the $60 charge. I cznt explain how frustrating the entire process was.

properly trained employees and proper tools to accomplish the job. make sure shop is scheduled with plenty of personnel. my hitch installation took over two hours to be completed due to inept personnel and lack of proper tools. will never use this location a second time or refer anyone to this location.

I've had a very BAD experience with uhaul in general! The good emplyees at uhaul moving and storage of Bakersfield were very helpful in trying to help me straighten my bad experience out... I moved from Michigan to California using a ubox which was extremely damaged upon delivery! Looked like the box was dropped! Resulting in my belongings being badly damaged including my 60 inch tv which was damaged beyond repair, along with some other items... I did buy the insurance coverage to file a claim which I'm planning on doing so I hope that was money well spent because if they dont honor that then I'm out that money for nothing!!! So not happy. Been getting the run around leaving messages just to not get answered back! Bad business... I probably should of spent the extra money and went with a top competitor and my stuff wouldn't have been tossed around and damaged!!! I dont recommend anyone using uhaul. Still waiting for a reimbursement of the $50/day for not getting delivered by gaurented delivery date totalling $200... plus bank account was overcharged for services not used of almost $160.00! Still waiting for my bank account to balance back out from their mistakes... so here I sit playing a waiting game!!! And they claim to make moving easier..HA-HA!!! JOKE IS ON ME... HAD TO MOVE BECAUSE MY HUSBAND WAS KILLED like I needed more negativity in my life!!

Only one employee on duty. We stood around for 10 minutes waiting. The office was locked. The servicing area was left open to thieves. We finally found the employee out back hooking up a trailer for a customer. Definitly need a second employee.

Heater didn't work. No support on returning. Just a rep telling us to go find some one with an iPhone in the the middle the night because your site doesn't work with android. Upon rental sales rep was rude because we walked in and didn't book online. Tried turning us away saying all trucks were reserved when you drive by and see them unused. Refused renting out a better maintained vehicle also because we hadn't booked online.

The receipt did not match contract . they thought we had 2 trucks rented out. It took phoenix hours to successfully return because bakersfield guys dont know what they're doing.
