Car dolly broke enroute and we were stuck overnight because U-Haul didn't have anyone that could come swap car dolly until the next day.

Michael WilliamsThe trailor interior was coated with a greasy substance that got on items I was having and had to be thrown away costing me several hundred dollars. The real door was defective causing it to jam where it took two people to open and close it. Very costly 10 day rental for me.

Then he got an attitude when I wanted to give him a dime so that I wouldn't get back $0,93 in change. Then proceeded to make me wait instead of giving me my $16,03 change back. Very unprofessional and not good customer service.

I had reserved 58 miles from my pick up location to my return location. By picking up 24 miles away from my reservation address cause me to be billed for going over 10 miles on my reservation. Had I known this I would not have agreed to pickup in the new location.

Darrin PettwayI completed all booking on line and opted for self checkout. All went except the final part of the self checkout which appeared to get stuck in a loop. Thankfully there were people in the office which recovered and completed the process. Otherwise the rental and especially the staff support was excellent.
KEVIN ALLENFront drivers side wheel bearing went out 5 miles out of town. It didn't appear that the wheels had been checked by U-Haul before I picked up the truck. It was a late Saturday afternoon & in Mobile, AL, Mardi Gras was going strong with most everything closed down. So a Uhaul mechanic Jim the owner of Signal 68 was unable to locate the necessary part to repair and get us on our way. I had a deadline to be in Chattanooga with the load by the following afternoon so was not happy to hear the load was going to have to be loaded on another truck. It took me 40 man hours to pack the truck & it was packed tight. Jim offered to bring his crew of 5 employees who were down at Mardi Gras to come and unpack the broken down truck and pack the new truck. It took the tow service several hours to get to us and transport us to the unloading and loading area. So by the time they started to unload the truck, it was after 11 PM. By about 2 AM the next morning It became aparent that all of the load would not fit in the new truck. So we had to wait till U-Haul opened the next morning at 9 AM to get a trailer to pack the rest of the load. I want to say how amazing Jim and his crew were on a Saturday night into early Sunday morning during Mardi Gras to come get me out of a jam. Because I seriously doubt no one else would've been available that night and early into Sunday morning. I hope u-Haul utilize this crew in the future for the Mobile AL area. Because they did a great job. I appreciate U-Haul reimbursing me for the trailer, a meal and the gas that I put in the truck that I couldn't use because it broke down. I also submitted receipts for a padlock that I wouldn't have needed except I needed to secure the trailer that was needed because it all could not fit back in the one truck without taking up to 40 man hours to load it that tight. I had also spent $106 in gas on the truck that broke down & was only reimbursed for $100. I appreciate u-Haul offering to put me up in a hotel. However, that was not needed since I had a family member in Mobile that my wife and I could stay with.

Benjamin E NeptunEverything was great at first. I ended up receiving an upgrade to a larger truck for the same price as the one I rented because the one I rented wasn't available. This was very helpful as I was able to haul more stuff at once. But upon returning it (late at night) I was very disappointed to see that after using only 1/8 of gas, I was charged over $8 in fuel. That is too much to charge for gas especially with the way this economy is right now. Please rethink how much you all are charging for this. I know you all have to make a profit but please consider the renter's costs of moving. It already is expensive to move from one place to another.

We I finally returned a few a go ,I was surprised to find the spring not replaced, my key lost, and place under new managers. Priced me out after rent was raised to $149 a month.

It needed a lot of lubrication. I was told at check-in that I needed a special lock for the door (which I already had) but it would not fit the slide-latch mechanism so I (fortunately) had a regular padlock with me that worked. When I mentioned this to the desk girl she said "oh yes, that's the old building. The new locks won't fit those doors." It's a good thing that I hadn't already purchased the required lock...
