I rented as Uhaul truck for the heavily addvertised rate of $19.95, $24 + w tax to move a two bedroom apt. For 1 day. In the past i have had good experiences w this location and Uhaul in general, however this time we started moving the first day and by the second day the weather was turning a little colder and we were behind so i called the store and the person said "no problem, ive got you covered. Just dropped it off the following day. Late that night and early am our city got hit w a blizzard so hard it caused white out conditions, 18" of snow and litterally shut the city down for two days. No taxis, no busses running. No travel advised and even the interstates were shut down for several hundred miles. The truck was stranded and so were we so i called the store amd it went to the 800$ . I wxplained my situa th ion and the lady was very helpful and sympathetic. She noted my situation to the account and said Uhaul is generally very accomodating in these situations but it goes by stores location. She said to call when we were able to get ahold of someone as she coyld not get ahold of anyone at the store either. No one was signed in. Two days later when we and the public were able to move again the movers returned and finished the move . I dropped the truck off approx: 10pm five nights later and reported to the 800#. The next morning the stores manager calles to settle up the account and requests $270.11!! For 6 days. I was shocked since even $ 24.95 @ 5 days is $124.95 and I asked why it was so high. The flippant manager relays to me that i was being charged for 6 days since it was after 5pm drop off but also a $14.95 a day "damage ins. Fee"?? I said i wasnt told this at time of rental and even then it still didnt add up to $270.11!! There was NO damage to the equipment just a charge. I will be calling corporate to figure this out as i got no where w that stores manager, Kyle at the Bismarck, ND. Interstate location. Ive always used Uhaul when moving and recommended them but this has left me feeling duped and very dissapointed. Stacey H.

I was very frustrated with U-Haul reservations. I reserved a 15' truck on August 17, 2019. Twenty four hours before I was to pick up my 15' I was informed that it was available at a location 125 miles away from the Bismarck location. I called and told the person that pickup would not work. I was told they could provide a 10' truck and an 5x8 trailer in Bismarck for the same price in lieu of the 15' truck, or I could pick up a 15' truck in Jamestown, again 100 miles away and not at all convenient. The reason given made sense, but I felt U-haul had to have known they would not have an acceptable 15' truck in Bismarck, much earlier than 24 hours before my scheduled pickup. The young man that helped me at the pickup was very accommodating and the equipment performed very well for me. This I appreciated.

Everything was great except when I dropped off the trailer. The drop off area was blocked off by a uhaul truck. I noticed some employees installing hitches in the garage and I went to ask them and they hid behind the truck and would not respond and then finally said “we are closed.” My only question was where to drop the trailer. They were very rude and snotty so I dropped it off in the drop off area and I had to carefully back out so I would not hit the trailer.

I stood and waited well over 30 minutes to complete my reservation. Then the uhaul I rented wasn't available, which caused more of an inconvenience. Next time I need to do this I will not goo to this location again, and also it cost me almost 30.00 more than what was quoted for my original reservation, which really really upset me, i was crying while waiting you would think that they would compensate me for all the problems.

The person that hooked up the trailer did not plug in the light connection very well. It disconnected in a few blocks and the insulation on the wire wore off exposing the wire. Took back and he said it was OK. I didn’t agree and he put on a new harness. He also didn’t tighten down the hitch very well

The best part about the storage is that it is climate controlled and has security. I also appreciated the large loading/unloading bay, large elevator, and the free to use moving carts.

I am not dissatisfied, but it is prepaid storage. I also rent out storage units for cold storage garages, I do not lock my customers out after 3 days, with out a phone call. Like this facility does.

The only thing I don't care for is there is not a refund of any type when you are able to move mid month. We checked out on 9\10 and were told that you do not give refunds for half of the month.

The staff rating really should be a "sometimes" friendly. We leased up to 4 units for 5 years & U-haul Bismarck was a well oiled machine back when Brian was the Manager.Not the same service like then.
