Don't give out trucks with check engine light on. Seat cover was offset and wouldn't adjust easily so it kept sliding off as I was driving; would be better to remove it for safer and less distracted driving.HOLLY R.

The following day it took about 18 hours to get a hold of somebody to come look at the truck that I rented. They told me the check engine light was on due to her or a CO2 part but it would run fine on the way to California. I took that truck in to this other U-Haul place in Birmington picked up a new truck in Burmington that check engine light was on took it directly back they said that there was nothing they could do about it I did not want to drive this truck. The alternative was to leave the truck there and lose all the money that I paid for the track and start all over again which I think is a crock of shit. After getting two trucks with two check engine lights what would make me think that I could trust U-Haul again. Anyway took the truck anyway because I needed to move and I've already lost 24 hours so the truck that was given to me at Remington and the gentleman said the same thing it's just ace CO2 sensor I took the truck. And wouldn't you know it 100 miles down the road with the truck fully loaded with household belongings and it breaks down. Call Road service I don't get any response wait on the phone for 3540 minutes and then I thought about calling this lady I met from tracking her name was Diane I hung up and I tried calling her I did not have my paperwork with me with the phone number for her so I called emergency roadside again after waiting 3035 minutes with no answer I tried starting the truck and the truck started. When he died on me it lost power and above the check engine light another check engine light came on with arrows pointing downward and I figured that meant lots of power . I remember that happening to me on my Chevy pick up. So it started up but it happened two other times after that on my way to California me hoping that it was the same problem but all I had to do is wait a few hours and it would start back up and that's what happened The guys that were running the U-Haul service at Bremington told me that 80 % of your vehicles have the check engine light on how can you do a business or run a business when you have 80 % of your vehicles out on the road and people endangering themselves. I'm writing a letter to headquarters or whoever you is in charge of all you guys 80 % of your vehicles have the check engine light is what I was told when a mechanic got on the phone with me after they came and checked the vehicle the first time told me that his experience was more evidence that what he was telling me that I could drive this vehicle to La California he said I didn't know what I was talking about through his experience so this gentleman I wish I would've got his name but for you people to think that it is fine to rent a vehicle with a check engine light is bullshit . I will never use U-Haul again!!ROBERT T.

The outside crew was great. The inside crew needs retraining on customer service. 1) when there are people in line waiting and phone rings. Answer, let them know you are assisting a customer and put them on hold. 2) don't stop assisting the customer in front of you to discuss the issue on said phone calls with the other employee. 3) not a good practice to discuss customers and their lack of knowledge in front of other customers you are helped on the phone with other employee. Not only is it in poor taste, it slows down the process of getting the person in front of you assisted. Especially with a line. 4) maybe consider more office help to assist with the flow of calls and customers.Catherine K.

GIANT NIGHTMARE! Website return of the same day return/rental was horribly ineffective, a day and a half *after* I returned my truck I get a call asking "when did I plan on returning the truck?" When I recounted the same day return events the employee said she was going to check into it and apologized for calling. Later I call back and get a "you're case is confusing I'm transferring you to customer service". That had me on hold with an estimated 30 min wait time, I requested the automated call back because who has 30 minutes to sit on hold? After an hour or so of not getting a call back I called back in. With another hold for 15 more minutes a friendly but quite unhelpful lady came on the line, reviewed the case and said she was transferring to a "manager that she works with" to help me. 40 MINUTES later I get on the line with guess who?? NOT the manager but just another friendly agent. I was finally able to get her to tell me that they had actually accounted for the truck but I am now being charged for an additional day, a day that I didn't even have the truck in my possession. She is "sending in a claim" to get the extra day taken off. I know the absence of future business from me isn't going to hurt one bit but hopefully this review will help several other people make the decision to go with another company.Elton B.

People who work at this location were amazing and very helpful. The only issue I had was when I created the reservation, I added that I needed a funiture hand truck, but they had none to available. This should have been something that should have been reserved so when renting stuff out they knew that there was one that needed to be there for this.Neal Z.

i ordered an appliance dolly but never got one. When i tried ot return the truck, i wasn't able to logon to you rwebsite and had to leave teh truck without checking in but saw an employee with green hair an dshe said to leave it and they woudl contact me the next day. I never heard from anyone adn everytime I try to call there is a 15 min or more wait. I can't get through to a human to get a refund for the dolly and double check teh billing.Holly D.

I requested a auto two wheeled tow hauler and was reserved a four wheeler. I was able to rent a two wheeler at site. This is the second time this happened at this location. The Management in Port Orchard seems to listen to may requests much better, they just did not have the equipment on hand. The two wheeler had a lot of gravel on it. Uhaul central customer service is garbage . My reservation was changed twice , first change I got a phone call, ok. New location ok. Went to pick up, uhaul central changed my reservation to a new location an hour away, 45 mins prior to my pick up time, no notification. Arrived to pick up trailer . No trailer. Location says uhaul constantly over books and has no trailers, other then open style, needed enclosed due to weather area. Cancelled first reservation bc I had a 15 min window before the other shop closed and it's an hour away. Tried to use only truck, no avail, made new reservation for open trailer. Bought tarps to cover all goods since load was weather sensitive. Also uhaul refused to issue a spare tire. The only answer I got was please call road side assistance . Which is included, side note employee at location tried to upsell me roadside for flats yet it states in contract it's covered with initial rental.Jacob Q.

First and foremost, I would have appreciated being given a truck that was at least street legal. A 2 foot long crack in the windshield isn't even legal in this state. Actual mileage in the truck upon pickup was over 70 miles past what was on our contract. Luckily WE caught it or we would've been overcharged another hundred dollars. We were given a truck with 1/2 a tank of fuel and told to return it with the same amount. Does your company realize what a pain that is to have your customer â€œguessâ€ at the pump that they get it back to 1/2 a tank upon return? Go back to full tank pick up, full tank return. I ended up paying for an extra 1/4 tank of gas I didn't use and didn't get refunded a penny. Also, the side mirrors on this truck couldn't even be adjusted (rusted in place). I believe the gas reader is broken or needs recalibration. I turned the car on to fill out the pre drive stuff and it showed it had 5/8 gas but then without even pulling out of the parking lot the gauge dropped to 1/2 tank. So I was upset about having to pay for more gas than I was supposed to, because the meter. (And because of how much gas is now, I didn't use the gas but had to pay to fill it up)ALEXANDRA K.
This group of people were absolutely the worst U-Haul workers I have ever encountered. We had a storage unit reserved at this place that they did not have for us and they literally just sent us away and did not help whatsoever. Shrug their shoulders at as even when we asked what we were supposed to do. We moved three states away with a 26 ft truck Boulevard things to arrive there to be told they guessed we were out of luck. I have used U-Haul Faithfully for over 20 years but I will never ever use this company again. I don't care if others are more expensive or inconvenient. I had to solve this issue and drive hundreds of more miles back and forth because that was the closest storage unit I could be guaranteed would exist when we arrived. To add injury to insult, then U-Haul tries to charge me extra money for the added miles. Added miles that we only incurred because a storage unit I had preserved over a month in advance was not actually held for us and we had to travel an hour back the direction we had originally came to try and find one U-Haul actually had available. I reserved a 6X12 trailer for my move from Seattle to Tampa. I looked inside the trailer while it was being attached - I found dead leaves, mud and standing water. I feel lucky and grateful that another trailer had just been returned, otherwise I would not have had one. Employees should check equipment thoroughly, especially for a cross country rental. Although I had no problems at pickup or drop locations, I do have a major complaint. I live in Tacoma and had a online reservation for a Tacoma pickup location. But I later received a confirmation email that my pickup location is now in Auburn. I called Auburn to verify and they said they did not have my trailer. I get transferred to a Uhaul representative saying my order is now in Bremerton. This Run-round is a poor service. It went from 1 mile from home to pickup 20 miles, oh wait 35 miles away.Paul E.
Didn't appreciate being told that "she would have to pay the $50 guarantee fee", but I the same sentence told me "I'm going to charge you for the inconvenience ". Okay, I get it... I trusted the system to extend my rental and that didn't happen. The Rep should have never said that, think about it... she's going to compensate the customer with my money. Not that I'm upset that there was a penalty involved, just the condescending attitude and feeling like a "P.O.Sh!Ã·. Had no issues with the miscommunication just the juvenile scolding I rcvd and with no interest in my ( you know- the other customer) side of the communication breakdown. I've rented a few times from here and I think I'll just buy my own trailer and be done with Uhaul. Not my place, but there should be some training from this experience.Nathan G.

When i made the reservation 5/26/21 for 26' truck and rental unit, the rental unit was advertised to be free for the 1st month. I noticed immediately after confirming the reservation that I was charged $89.95. I sent an email right then saying this was to be free and to cancel if there is a charge. As of 06/01/21 I have not received a response nor a refund for this amount. They also called and said the lock (that we bought from their store) was not a valid lock and threatened to cut it. Just overall a bad experience. I began renting a storage unit at the end of April of this year; and since that time I paid every month by way of automatic debit. On at least one occasion the hinges of my door were tampered with; and I right away alerted the staff. (I was glad I chose the extra insurance in case of theft etc.) Throughout my time there many times I had to walk to the office and request they unlock the door during normal business hours; and found difficulty with my key-card working consistently. This was inconvenient as many times there were long lines and I got tired of waiting. When I was notified that my cost was increasing, and had moved to another location, I made the decision to exit and left the unit in good clean condition for which I have a whitness. After vacating the unit I spoke with the staff; and they retained my key-card; and issued a refund. Subsequently I received a late notice stating that I had not paid. I sent numerous emails and called to resolve the matter. By contract however, the truck rentals over the years has been helpful with easy transitions; and problem free service.KASEY G. | Expérience générale

Customer service was not the best. Employees were not knowledgeable. Not at the initiation on the storage move in or at the move out time. They did not seem to want to help.
