The staff and facility were great, the vehicle was very noisy driving and strong exhaust smell in the cab, had to drive with the windows open, unsafe in my opinion. The other thing is that the dolly provided was not required for the move but was in the way, during unloading an item got caught on the dolly and broke the security tag. The dolly was not used and should be optional to have in the truck. Jeff

While it has nothing to do with the location the cargo van that I was given was snowed in, I had to spend a bit of time getting myself unstuck and cleaning the snow off the van with no snow brush.

Thiago Da Silva Costa FelixThere are a couple updates made to the location that haven't been translated to the app - the location of the lock boxes has moved, as an example. In the app, it took me a few tries to figure out what it wasn't identifying me to be on site. I understand tech enough to know to check my GPS Location Services and toggle to show "precise location", but this wasn't clearly delineated for someone who may not be tech savvy. Overall the experience was pretty good. This review page is also a little clunky. I would suggest rolling up the Roadside Assistance portion with a few questions to unroll the corresponding parts, if they're needed. It's also forcing to answer questions irrelevant to my rental. Probably deters people from leaving feedback....
Samantha FordIf a customer purchases equipment when renting a vehicle, the equipment should already be in the vehicle. I purchased some tie down rope but it wasn't clearly indicated to me that I had to pick it up for another location from where I was picking up the van. I haven't picked it up nor have I received a refund yet.

Dan RankineWe are leaving U-Haul because our unit was broken into twice. The second time, a lot of our possessions were stolen. Sadly, we were also not notified of the break in and found out a month after the fact when we went to the unit and our keys did not fit in the lock. The only good part of the experience was Priyan, who worked as hard as he could to help make it right for us. I wouldn't recommend U-Haul storage due to this experience.

William Demopolis | Expérience généraleI did not have an issues with the actual storage facility. I had a major issues with the uHaul office. I rented a truck for moving and a storage unit. I was not ever made aware of needing to pay extra for 24 hr access to the storage unit, this was never offered to me or explained, and I got locked in the facility one night and couldn't reach anyone at uHaul to let me out. I was stuck there until another customer used their code to let me out. Also I provided my credit card number to pay for the storage month over month. My fees were due on the 13th, the very next day I was locked out of my unit for non payment, and a letter was sent to a family member of mine. I went to uHaul and asked why this happened since they have my payment information. They said if I want monthly payments to be withdrawn from my card on file, that needed to be arranged by them and should have been done when I initially purchased the unit. This was never explained prior. I feel customers are treated extremely poorly. When I rented the truck I was asked for an "emergency contact" I asked what this was for, and they said it's for medical emergency purposes; if I was to be in an accident with the truck they would need someone to contact. The truth is that it is used to send collection letters to. Very dishonest. Lots of mistakes made by uHaul, not a single apology. I will never use uHaul again.

GOKSEL ORALThis is a satellite location with zero staff. If you have an issue you need to drive to another location. The lockboxes have a button on top of the keypad but that button is not used to open the lock. You actually open the lock by turning the circular mechanism below the keypad. This was not made clear in the instructions. When I returned the vehicle it took 36 hours for them to log the return and I was charged an extra day which I had to call about.

Once I arrived with truck in tow, it was only then that I was informed that the largest unit was not available despite what I had reserved. There may or may not have been a unit closer to my home, but I reserved specifically at Walkers Line for the large unit.

So I clicked the link provided to download the app, but it returned "App not available in your region". So I called the number and was put on hold for 20 minutes, then was disconnected when it went through. so then I went to the app store and found that I could download the app (I suspect it is a different one than was on the webpage presented earlier). OK, so I went through all the process, and got an access code for the key, but it did not work. So I had to go to the other UHAUL location that had staff at it, and get them to come to open the lock box with a master key. This delayed my pickup by about 45 minutes and was extremely painful.

SRIJEETH SATHYAMURTHYThe truck number was missing from both the front and back of the truck. I took pictures when I noticed and had to restart the mobile pickup process. I couldn't figure out how to restart the mobile pickup, so I had to try changing the start time (which meant potentially losing my reservation). When I finally figured out how to get the pickup process started again, there was an option to add pictures based on the current condition of the truck. The inside had dozens of torn pieces of paper (in the front AND back), in addition to the missing numbers. During the check-in/pickup process, I took pictures to indicate the current condition of the truck.The app froze, again. For a moment, a chat screen appeared and I was able to chat with someone, sort of. They were apparently confirming my order. After a few minutes, I added, "Hello?" The representative replied saying, "hello," then the chat session ended - the app had frozen YET AGAIN. After I had tried everything to keep the process going, I had to quit the app and restart - yet again. This time, I had apparently completed the pickup process - WITHOUT CONFIRMING THE CONDITION, MILEAGE, and FUEL TANK LEVEL. Not only was the process excruciating to "complete," it took nearly an hour. Lastly, when I returned the truck through the mobile process, I commented that I was unsatisfied with the experience and disagreed with the charges. The final screen indicated that someone would contact me within 48 hours. Nearly a week later and all I've received was a "rate your experience" email. I've been a u-haul customer for several years (both personal and business), and I'm now looking for alternatives.

Lee FarrellThe Uhaul online service doesnt work, even after enabling location on mobile, it was not letting me sign in and get the vehicle. I had to go to the nearby Uhaul onsite location to clear the info and get the key code. Also, after returning the vehicle I was charged $24 more than what should have been charged. I have called and followed up multiple times since 1 month, but haven't received the amount credited to my credit card account. This is frustrating for me to follow up every week and checking if they have credited it to my account or not.

When I turned on the vehicle I was greeted with a low tire pressure warning that needed to be addressed before going anywhere. Front - left tire was so low, I couldn't ignore the warning. As far as 'filling up to the level I found it' - that just doesn't work. Here's a thought - provide a full tank, and expect a full tank in return so your customers don't have to guess how much gas they've consumed. Thank goodness for Tracy Davenport the General Manager who understood, empathized and assisted to 'make things right'. Unfortunately, it's your procedures that need to be addressed, so that good GM's can leverage to grow business, not spend their time patching holes due to poorly developed systems. If not for that, I would rank the location much higher - again, due to Tracy's engagement

A small area (12 x 12 inch) had what appeared to be some sort of decay - dead animal or decaying food / vegetation. Not sure - nasty. Should have been checked before renting out. I initially rented a smaller unit online, but when I arrived at the facility a unit of that size was not available. I was given a larger unit for the same price for the first month and told that I would be phoned prior to the second month's billing and given a smaller unit. The phone call never happened, and it was only after I called that a smaller unit was provided. I had to go to significant inconvenience, time and effort to move my things from one storage unit to the other. Having a larger unit was of no benefit to me as I did not have enough things to fill it. Knowing that I was only going to need the unit for 3-4 months, I should have been left with the larger unit at the same price. Staff were friendly but the rating is not a graduated scale.

I completed the on-line pick up process, but sytem did NOT send the lock box code to get the key! 3. I waited and waited for code, and then called "the location" (which actually just re-directed me to the call centre in Arizona, and put me on a long hold) 4. I WAS INCREDIBLY FORTUNATE that a UHaul employee showed up and was able to complete the pickup process for me. Even she couldn't get a lockbox code from the system! *the ONLY reason that the employee showed up was that she lived upstairs above the office, and just happened to return home while I was there. If she had not come home, I would have been unable to pick up the van.

After waiting 45 mins at the store and basically being told sorry nothing we can do, they attempted to cut it off. We couldn't wait any longer so they said to come back tomorrow. We agreed reluctantly but had no choice as all uhaul were now closed. They called us back and said the persons items were still in the uhaul. We then ended up having to pay 60-70$ more for another unit even further away. It is so simple to just call someone and let them know not to come, luckily we aren't moving for another day but if we had to be out that day it could've been a lot worse.

Had to take other requested interior pics through the windows

We called the service number on the website and waited over 10 minutes on hold before a real person came to the phone. They gave us 6 other possible codes to use...none worked. They then said they would transfer our call to the location that could help. The transfer was to the general line! Another 8 minutes on hold and another operator got on the line...same transfer problem back to the general WAIT FOREVER FOR SOMEONE TO PICKUP service. I gave up on the phone service after the third attempt. I then drove to a nearby location and got a very overworked and super polite employee, Kate, to leave her desk and drive to the first location to get us a key and a vehicle. To fix the problem have a dedicated phone link from the pick-up locations to a nearby person. OR just give out the proper lock box codes and test them before each pick up.
David BeckettA couple flaws with pickup process: 1. Phone calls to my contacts failed to connect. (And anyway, phone calls to my contacts while I am waiting to grab the vehicle and go? Really?) 2. Mechanical tumblers broken on combination lockbox holding my key to my rental. Yikes! Now what? After numerous calls, finally reached a human at the hub location, who promptly came over 10 minutes later to retrieve the key, and who informed me that, "yeah", they were having trouble with the lockbox. Good grief! So, the process is good but needs improvement.

The unit was filthy and there was a dead mouse that must have been there for a long time as it was stiff as a board and since I had to move all my furniture in the next day I had little choice but to keep the unit. Uhaul should inspect the unit after someone leaves and if it is filthy they should clean it or charge the client for the cleaning fee. Thanks, Sean

You would think this would be something very simple to do as you deal with contracts everyday. I had to call back repeatedly since the contract information was incorrect, missing names, phones numbers. spelling mistakes, etc. I was also disappointed that there was no direct email address or cell number to talk with the manager. I always had to talk with someone different which complicated matters. As well, it has been a year and I am still waiting for the electric remote to access the gate. Also, there needs to be a better job when shoveling in front of the doors and there is not always a cart available in my locker complex. Merci

Susan LloydWe made a reservation online over a week ago for a 20' truck and a 8x15x10 storage unit. We are in the process of moving and had to take the remaining items out of house and store them for a couple months. First off, the truck was quite dirty. I wiped off the steering wheel and other touch surfaces and they were disgusting. I would think with the current Pandemic, the truck would be a lot cleaner. We planned to do all the moving and storage in the one day as we just had a full truck load. I filled out all the check in information the day before, but still had to spend 30 minutes re-confirming all the same information while at Uhual after waiting in line since it is busy in the morning. We were then told that there was no storage unit of that size, but that we should go fill the truck and we will sort out the storage unit when we got back. We came back a couple hours later with the truck completely full and we're told that there we no units big enough available at that location or the one down the road. The employee was doing everything she could to find us a solution and even offered us two units. In the end, none of these solutions would work for us. We were in a terrible spot as we had all of our stuff in the truck and it was due back soon. We got back to Uhaul aroud 1:30 and it was due back at 5:00 when it closed, but it was now around 3:00 still without a storage locker. We also had multiple people helping us but had to wait around while this got sorted out. Luckily my brother in law found another storage company around the corner that was able to get us a big enough unit right away even though they were actually closed. We regrettably cancelled our Uhaul storage unit as the reservation was never fulfilled. On top of that we had to buy two locks and insurance for the two units we were supposed to get, but they had issues giving us a refund. All in all, we are very disappointed in this experience and I think Uhaul has a long way to go to get their reservation system working much better and inline with other companies. It left a very bad taste in our mouth as moving is already stressful enough. The staff at the Uhaul location were very accommodating trying everything they could to find a solution, but ultimately the systems used by Uhaul let us all down. I know no one will read this or care, but we will be hard pressed to use or recommend Uhaul in the future. Also, an idea for you would be to recommend a storage locker based on the truck size rented. Example, a full 20' fills a ?x? x? storage locker
