Make sure they ask if the customer needs a truck with a ramp. Especially if they are renting a appliance dolly for crying out loud. Wasted time and gas with a truck I couldn't use. Was given no credit for returning truck with much more fuel than start. Overall, I was not impressed except for the girl who switched out my truck very quickly.

I rent U-Haul a couple times a year and this was a particularly lovely experience. The gentleman and the Cathedral City location was so friendly and knowledgeable. At the drop off place, the woman who received the truck was exceptionally friendly as well. It sounds like you have some smart, happy employees.

Suggest updating your internet and or equipment so the staff can efficiently get customers in and out in a timely manor. The fact that we are in 2024 and your asking your staff to work with outdated equipment does your company a disservice. Staff was amazing and very apologetic for the delay in processing customers. Great group of employees for sure.

They did a super job. Because I am retired. Spent all my working career in the customer service business the one thing I would think to improve on. Because the location is so busy 90 % of the time, better staffing. I also notice there is quite a bit of turnover in staffing. During this past 6 months possibly could have been due to lack of leadership at busy times. I am hopeful that this comment helps you to improve. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more input. For me not being in a hurry and having lots of patience. This location worked great for my needs. Thanks you.

The phone app was useless and I had to meet with a customer service rep. The truck was not ready. They could not locate the correct appliance dolly that was assigned. Very unorganized! Arrived at 10:10 am. Scheduled pickup at 10:30am and did nor leave until 10:55am.

The computer system was buggy/glitchy first thing in the morning which led to a frustrating delay of 15 minutes while the (excellent) staff sorted it out. A big corporation which runs on computers shouldn't have this sort of thing happen. The counter staff remained calm and professional, kudos to them. They're the reason for my 5* rating. Equipment was fine. Transaction completed exactly as hoped.

First of all I was in there and the lady did not check to see if there was dollies in there as I requested and I needed two furniture dollies and they were not in the truck and I was told that the truck had a quarter of a tank which was on empty and was 4 miles from running out of gas as I left Nobody was there to help me check in the truck or see if the gas gauge was at a normal level like before when I've rented previously with U-Haul nobody did a once surround the truck they didn't even walk me out to the truck they just gave me the key and said the truck is located over in the corner with the butterfly on it . The lady who help me was in a rush I guess because she had to get off and leave as soon as she helped me. I seen her drive out the parking lot leaving her job whether she clocked out or whether she was going somewhere out to another U-Haul. I do not know, but the bottom line is , the service was horrible and then I got charged an extra day for the U-Haul truck when I had returned it at night time through the night drop off and it never got checked in. I had to call you guys twice to get the problem resolved spend an hour and a half plus of my time on the phone either on hold or speaking to a representative which I just believe was unnecessary .

Marcus was very professional and provided superior customer service. I ran into an issue with not having a valid hard copy of my drivers license. The first person who assisted me said I could not rent trailer. Marcus took the time to call traffic and explain to them I had my expired hard copy license, but had my new Interim driver license paperwork. They said that was fine and were able to work with me. It was a busy day an I greatly appreciate Marcus for taking the time to assist me as I had a deadline to deliver a particular item. At the return Michael helped me and was very professional and helpful.

Called to ask about free month of storage at the drop off location. I was asking questions to figure out how much volume the the storage unit could hold in comparison to the truck. I wasn't even arguing just asking questions because it wasn't making sense what the person was saying on the phone. They then yelled at me for "Arguing" and shouted a bunch more nonsense before they ultimately hung up. I then had to call the main uhaul line where the individual simply provided me the info that I was asking and it wasn't a big deal.

I have 2 storage unit there. As the prices increased so did the ability to access my storage unit. Multiple times there would be U-Haul trailers, trailer bins and trucks parked in front of the building that housed my storage unit. Fortunately a worker would move them for me. Unfortunately they had to be asked to do so. Perhaps not allowing so many uhauling vehicles to be stored in one place would be helpful. And as kind as he staff is they seemed short staffed and very busy. U-Haul DO BETTER!! I'm sure the company is making profit! Treat people better all around! Moved out of one hoping to get out of the other! Thank you for asking

I attended a music festival and needed to store items during the festival. I knew I would be arriving outside business hours and was able to apply for storage online from out of the country. My only issue was that there was supposed to be a lock included inside the locker, which was not there. Luckily, several local hardware stores were open late so I was able to purchase an appropriate lock.

The available hours for storage units was the most appreciated option with this location. I've been to several other storage units and they basically work office hours around 8:00 in the morning till 5:00 or 6:00 at night and not on the weekends very much.

The facility was always cramped - trucks and trailers parked in the isles of the storage area and you had to squeeze between them to get to your storage unit. There was debris (including nails, screws, and glass) strewed around the storage area and NEVER cleaned up. We got a flat tire one time. Another time we cleaned up all the glass/metal from the area around our unit and told the brand new GM about it but the pile was still where we left it next to our storage unit 2 weeks later. There were rats in the unit and they ate one of our couches (we had insurance and were reimbursed). The ceiling was sagging and looked like water damage had happened at one time, which made me fearful for my items. The good news is there is a new GM so hopefully they will improve the facility but in the 2 weeks the hadn't done much from what I could tell (since the pile of scrap metal was still there after we pointed it out to her). I made sure to get my items out as quickly as possible and will not be using this Uhaul again.

The staff including the manager have no business in the service industry. I will NEVER EVER do business with this company. My experience with this store severed over 35yrs of business with U-haul. Due to their inability to perform their job's and a manager that refuses to make a phone call to admit their wrong and to rectify what was done. I'll never recommend this company to anyone. I'll convince them why they shouldn't. It'll be easy. I did reach out to the staff before emptying my unit that I was doing so and afterwards AND THEY STILL TOOK MY MONEY. THE MANAGER NEVER CALLED OR SENT THE USUAL EMAIL TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THEY SUCK = THE STAFF!!! I'm still waiting for money and apologies for stealing my money.

The gentleman that help me where short staff some one was late or call in one guy could only work the computer his back up guy was not a computer guy but they really work as a team he had every ready and the counter guys was trying to help 2 people at a time and he did his personality was positive and pleasent he was really helpful the older gentleman work in and outside the yard was also getting everyone needs and had it ready almost as the counter guy got paperwork done great team work even tho someone was late or call in sink that don't change there productive and positive attitude ! I was impressed

The only complaint I have is that U Haul in general has a horrible answering service (800#). Its the only number listed and trying to get a hold of anyone was nearly impossible. But the location office itself was Excellent. All the associates I came into contact with were very friendly, courteous and professional.

Spencer, did a great job addressing my concerns. I think Uhaul needs to focus more on securing this location much better. Spencer told me they were building the fences higher to keep people from getting. One of my locks was cut off after less than 24 hours in my unit. Spencer took great care of giving me the proper locks and making sure I had insurance on my belongings. Great job Spencer. It was greater service then what I received in Phoenix by far.

Very happy with the reasonable rate. In the storage unit area, there were many rental trailers and trucks stored in the driveways between the buildings, which made it a little tricky to maneuver through with a truck pulling a trailer.

You need to pave all the areas as if moving carts are being used and not having ramps at the entrance to the indoor storage is just dumb. Don't put up signs bragging about the indoor temperate being controlled when on the few occasions I actually showed up it wasn't even close. There is a real issue with telephone communication at this location. I'm guessing management is either overextended or just doesn't care but many simple issues that could be solved were kicked down the line adding to really everyone's additional time wasted. Have someone that can take care of the phones and I'll bet you won't have any bad reviews or irritated customers as I've noticed on most visits there's always one or two upset folks: There's got to be someone at home that could go on payroll and quickly resolve most problems . You have sone really great workers there and you've got some lousy ones but honestly neither seen to stay. U-Haul is a smart company and kinda quietly crept up and made itself the only affordable ish option for moving and storage but I can't say I really love it like everything about it . This location is ok but it's just because it's really the only game in town. I've found better prices and better service within a half mile but I did have to wait for a space and of course they don't rent trucks , so thank you for the space it was clean and available.. I don't mean to be a jerk I'm just being blunt. You obviously have a good business, I think it could be a great one with a few improvements. It's interesting that not getting good service lingers and kinda leads a good customer away when the cost to actually take care of it was so little. You'll do well regardless I'm sure:

We were so relieved to discover we got a month of free storage with our one way rental. Our home buying experience did not allow us to move directly in..in fact it took 4 additional months!! We had to pay for 3 months and were so glad our unit was air conditioned. A staff member verified all the units were secured twice daily by physical inspection. And for secure?...you had to use your gate pass to also exit every time you came. Video surveillance was also used. If we ever move again...U-Haul is our choice.

Every time we went our it was like an obstacle course! U-haul vehicles and has block our row since day one. Have to ask an employee to move vehicles and trailer blocking both access roads to our unit, multiple times. Have to wait 15-20min. pain. Check yourself row G19. So, we had to move to another storage facility

The entire time I was moved in, the staff could not provide me with an access code or card. They repeatedly told me the gate controls were broken and being fixed. They never were. I had to call over the intercom to be let in. One evening they left for the day with me and my vehicle in there and I had to hop the fence, leave my car, and have my wife pick me up. Would not recommend.

Employees not wearing very protective masks. Just scarves over their faces. The Uhaul company need to provide masks that protect both the employee and the customer from the employee. I did not continue with my rental because of a price increase. I was told that the vehicle I rented had 1/2 tank of gas instead the vehicle had only a quarter tank. Fortunately I caught it before driving off. The truck bed was not clean.

I found it impossible to communicate with my local UHaul agent regarding my storage. Saving money this way for your company does not make friends. I waited up to an hour and never did connect with a question that could've only been answered by my local dealer.

I rented a 20 ft truck to go 1 way to cat city & was told I got a few storage for a month. I was told it wAs 10x8x5. (It's your business & you should know that a 20 ft truck worth of stuff won't fit 1/4 of my belongings in, so what should have taken 4-5 hrs took all day (I'm disabled w a broken neck). I had to move my stuff to a different storage then bring the truck back. I would expect some kind of refund or a free truck for my reservation on the 8th as the 3 things & confirmation # were wrong. I had difficulty with the hasps on the locker. Two uhaul locks were very difficult accommodate to the hasps. The employees were great and very helpful. Maybe U-Haul should look at a better engineered hasp system hardware. A new hasp designed from the ground up would not be inappropriate.

The facility itself was fine, and the service I received actually went above and beyond; but I cannot recommend this location. During the 5 or 6 times I visited the office, there was always at least one employee inside (usually more) with no mask. Those who did have masks often would only wear them when customers entered, or would wear them improperly (many customers followed suit). It does not take a rocket scientist to understand how masks work, but many of the employees at this location seem to either not understand or not care. I should mention that there was one female employee (blonde) that seemed to always have her mask on, and she should be duly commended. Sadly most of the other employees working inside (predominantly the young males) didn't seem to take it seriously whatsoever.

I was told that I was to receive a 10x15 unit and was given a reservation number. When I arrived at the location, I was told that they couldn't locate my reservation and that there were no more units available in that size. I had just driven 590 miles, had a truck full of items to be stored and I was extremely tired. This was not good news. The young man behind the counter was kind and pleasant but could only offer me a 10x10. I accepted it because I had no other options at that point and had to take a lot of items to the dump.

I am extremely unhappy! I was given a trailer with retread tires and one came off during the trip, costing me $123 to buy a new one. Then when getting to my end destination, I was charged insurance on the storage unit, but never got one, even though I had one reserved! This meant that I had to book in overnight in Palm desert costing me $ 156 so that I am able to arrange a storage unit elsewhere the following day at a more expensive rate. So no, I am not happy, but this will be heard by everyone I know, and I will post this on my LinkedIn profile where I have in excess of 1 000 top CEO's and Presidents of Companies as connections. So, I will leave the ball in your court and give you until Monday afternoon to decide how you are going to compensate me for this massive inconvenience!

Our first contact was with a employee named Jose. He was rude and unhelpful. We asked if we could get the 1 month free storage so we could unload our truck on 6/10 and then go unload the remainder of our belongings and then turn the truck in. It was 104* that day! It was 11am and the truck was not due to turn in until that Friday 6/12. He rudely said No! and would not discuss it. As we were leaving two other employees both named Chris were amazing and helpful. They proceeded to get in contact with Whitney the asst mgr. who was amazing as well. WE were able to get into the storage unit and off load the items and then turned the truck in earlier than expected. What is a shame is the very first contact we had with anyone in Palm Springs was Jose. JERK! Thank you Whitney and both Chris's. You all were helpful and changed our day into a positive experience.

Great service but way understaffed at the busiest times. I am a patient person, but I could see a lot of customers getting frustrated by the long wait times. Other than that they were great.
