I made reservations 3 days prior to pickup. It was NOT THERE. They sent me 4 miles down the road, they didn't have one, they sent me 4 miles down the road, they didn't have one, they sent me 6 miles down the road FINALLY I got one. I was 30 miles turn around out of my way, and lost a half a day chasing for a uhaul. VERY UNHAPPYDonna L.

We reserved beforehand to pickup and drop in a different location, we needed to drive more than 10 miles for this location. During return, they were charging us additional items that we didn't used. The cashier's attitude wasn't the best, and I was helped by the manager.Pedro V.

One and half years ago I rented a storage unit. The key pad closest to my storage was inoperative. Yesterday the same key pad was inoperative. You have to use a keypad halfway down the building and walk back up to my unit. I am a disabled Vietnam veteran. Walking all that way 3 times was painful. The instructions for drop off were confusing. At first I was told to drop off where i picked up but later I received a phone call saying I needed to drop off at a location closer to where I was moving. I had to go to three different U-Haul locations to get things that should have been at the first location, where the truck I had reserved was given to someone else. The location where I rented the truck didn't have the appliance dolly, so I had to go to a third location in order to pick up the dolly and a second bag of furniture pads. Also, I was given a rate by the dispatcher for 79 $a day and 0,28 $ a mile. This rate didn't get programmed in, as I had to contact U-Haul at 2am, when I got the truck back. The app which U-Haul insists be used wouldn't function on my phone, so I had to call tech support. What should have been a 5 minute tasked stretched to 45 minutes. I was finally able to convled my business by 3am. I was not happy? I was told that I owed something like 316 $which meant the dispatcher's entries either wasn't accepted. I added a comment at the end of the app that I expected the rate I had agreed to. I expected so e human would intervene and correct the rates, but this didn't happen. Today, I was able to see the 316 $was actually deducted from my bank account. I dropped my the van rental location and spoke with a very pleasant agent at the rental location, who took action to refund the overage, and provided additional compensation for the inconveniences, which I greatly appreciate. Before my arrival at the U-Haul rental locatio location today, I was convinced this would be my first and last rental at U-Haul. After my interaction with the young lady at the desk, she has amended the issues to the point I would consider using U-Haul again. She should be commended for her I get personal skills.MARCUS J.

Fix your printers and lower your prices. Paid a 110,00 $ for a 10' foot truck rental (local). Besides that, Margaret Barrazas was awesome. Instead of renting a U- Box. She set me up with a storage unit at the McKellips location. Thank you Margaret!Margot S.

I had a pretty horrible experience securing the correct sized truck in that it wasn't available, and I wasn't notified until the day before I was set to move. In addition, I didn't receive the dolly I paid for, so I had to call other locations to see if one was available - representatives were either confused or trying to charge again, until we finally received a dolly, which was the wrong one. As such, I had to go to the store and pay for my own. Overall quite frustrating and stressful.Devon H.
The owner of the location did not have a good working knowledge about chain safety and how to correctly hook a trailer. I have been driving professionally and training new commercial drivers for more than 15 years and have logged more than 1,5 million miles accident free. He tried to tell me that twisting a chain to shorten it up was a safe practice. I can tell you, it is not. Twisting a chain and then placing it under load will cause the chain to fail. Your owner is unknowingly placing renters in danger by using these chain up methods. When I brought this to his attention, he brushed me off as if I didn't know what I was talking about. I pulled up Under The Canopy, a lady came out and sad quotes there's a customer's in front of you so and quote what does that mean exactly? The gentleman who eventually came out to check me in was very polite and helpful. I think it is very rude to expect a customer to wait to get a piece of equipment on a tack from their vehicle. I was reminded that if I went ahead and just detached the dolly from my vehicle, the lady said that I would be charged a 20 $drop off fee. Totally unacceptableALEXANDER R.

This was where my original GUARANTEED rental location had to send me after my trailer was NOT AVAILABLE! I had even called the day before and made sure the trailer was actually there and had the rental Prepaid and info uploaded to the UHaul website. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH 9202 E. MAIN ST. MESA, AZ SHELL STATION. The ONLY reason I chose that location in the first place was because it was a guaranteed location. DIDN"T DO ANY GOOD TO HAVE A GUARANTEED!!Lianne D.

The two staff present (the manager, who was working the desk, and one man who was moving trailers and trucks) were extremely busy, but unfailingly polite, professional, and helpful, not only to me, but to other customers I saw as well. Have two people in the office when they are expecting people to come in for rental reservation. I had to wait as a couple were trying to figure out what boxes for moving. I waited over 15-20 minutes. Where I just needed a few minutes to get my rental. There was two when I got back to drop off and it went much quicker.JEAN D.

The woman who helped me was having some computer issues but was able to get them resolved in a timely manner. My only complaint was that I was not told I would have to go on line and check in my Uhaul when using the self drop off box. I was charged 20 because I was not properly informed what I needed to do. I was told to just leave the keys and paperwork in the box.lisa L.

Recommendation is a yes with hesitation. The employees were VERY unprofessional & talked poorly about other clients in front of everyone. Directions were not clear or understood & price was more than online offered without explanation as to why. I needed the trailer bad enough that I paid the difference with FRUSTRATION!!!! The truck ran great. However the front of the truck by the overhang leaked when it was raining and water got all over some of our boxes and a mattress. Also, I paid for moving pads that were not in the truck when I picked it up. Additionally, the military discount of 20 % that was promised was not applied. Too many billing issues. I paid a month in advance for May 2021 via a phone call from Chris saying my account was past due (even though I set my account up on recurring twice and money wasn't taken out properly) and when I arrived yesterday May 23rd I was locked out of my storage room. This has happened twice during my 6 month rental period. Lock should have been removed when I made payment to Chris early May. Thank God the office was open. Reps are not helpful, unfriendly, not trained properly. Originally I reserved a 10x12 back in November 2020 and when I arrived to rent truck and get storage room I found out they gave my unit away and was given a 10x10 storage unit that had broken door. Had to request that it be repaired. Staff was rude and acted like they didn't care and was told I could move my contents to another unit. Wow... May 23rd my car was hit by Uhaul driver in parking lot at Broadway location. Again, inadequate training! Staff should not have been driving a Uhaul truck without proper training. We are leaving U-Haul because of our experience with this particular storage facility. We have repeatedly left messages for the manager, Jeff, to call us but he never did, we've repeatedly gone into the facility, but we can rarely catch him. The door to our unit building was broken when we first moved in and it took WEEKS to get it fixed. We tried to stress to the young man, who was behind the store counter, how important it was to get it fixed and have our belongings secure especially since it's not gated. His response to our concerns? He said that they had cameras that would record the thief's face and hopefully the police could catch him. Two things are problematic with this answer. 1. With COVID-19, most people are wearing a mask so the police couldn't identify him. 2. We didn't want our things to be stolen in the first place and the chances of getting them back, and in good condition, would be about nil. Couldn't believe we were having that conversation... After telling him that if it wasn't fixed within the next few days, I would be calling corporate...it finally got fixed. So... these are the reasons why we have moved our things out of U-Haul and moved them into a cleaner, gated, and well-maintained facility, Extra Space Storage. It' even quite a bit farther away, but it's worth the peace of mind.lynn p. | Expérience générale

There was a mix up with my unit when I first was there. I was supposed to be air conditioning the first 3 weeks I was there it was almost 80 degrees. When I left I had to take my lock off, they do not pro-rate if you leave early or stay late so that is concerning. When I left an employee with short shorts, was sitting there eating her yogurt, I asked her for a close out receipt, seemed like that bothered her because she had to stop eating. The location on East Mesa all the employees were tremendously helpful and beyond nice. My first time moving out on my own ...paying everything myself. I was late returning the U-haul truck and the fee was waved. Also Im so glad I went there East Main st. In Mesa.... Seriously the owner of the trucks is super cool understanding of the situation I was in ...told me to take my time.
