Clarify the access availability to the unit. Entry and or Access flexibility. I broke my femour a few days after I rented the unit and had to replace the ball in my hip. As such my ability to deal with the unit and contents became dependant on help. My finances very limited, I enjoyed family members who are night owls. ( Nice way of saying these were the only ones I could barter with). I would be open to a work share type of barter I could merchandise data entry clean in the day hours if another employee would be open to be available in the hours after location closing. Of course scheduled hours Or is there another option for entry after location closing hours? I would like to add I have dealt with three different locations with the U-Haul company and two other storage / truck rental companies in the past 7 years. The U-Haul on Arlington in Winnipeg was one of the downright overtly condescending chovinist humans I have met I give thanks they are fewer and father apart in my experience. It was the co worker response (appeared stumped, eyes went wide then "huh" and thenappeared lost for a few secs while he was listening to insane comments and questions from the other guy. The total honesty, (with his non verbal response) respect for all in the room (he did remain friendly firm with me and did not contribute to the obvious lack of hearing on my side as well as his co-workers blank spots. He offered me an option that showed me he heard what I said and brought clarity to the situation long enough for me to leave with dignity and respect that it was not personal and not Uhaul. All other dealings were lukewarm This location here in Winnipeg on Dufferin Avenue has been simply AMAZING. The customer service is outstanding. The level of care and satisfaction you feel after talking with them about questions or concerns is excellent and that's throughout the staff hours and personal! There's a gentle and general sense of humour and ease that goes with a practical approach to being helpful that is sooooo welcome. I can not remember dealing with a group of people who model a professional and cohesive unit. I say this simply because in the last two weeks I have dealt with all the personal for one reason or another and at different times of the day and in different states of mind (I was so upset and confused one day and their response was respectful and clarifying as to how they could help me. I will recommend highly this location and I mention the troubleshooting humourous cohesive unit of personal there in my conversations with others.Leonard H.

Our original trailer that was to be picked up at the Century location was not available. we were not notified prior to the pick up. we were therefore sent to the Dufferin location. We were told that we were receiving a 50 $credit because of the trailer not being available as we had booked. When we got to the Dufferin location the employee told us he would not honour the credit, he was rude and the trailer was dirty. he swept out the trailer after we asked him to, we took our rental and we will attempt to look after our credit with the Century location. The car was not clean forced to sit on some hard cartoons because the seat was dirty, and above all they have added the millage which i hadn't travelled. From Uhual duferene to ikea is 24km but they said i had gone 66km, i have asked even to check where i had gone on the gps, but he said that they dont have access to that, and when he is giving me he didnt even check it for me not even told me about the milage.Isaias W.

After I loaded the truck I tried to started the engine and the battery was dead. By coincidence the manager called me at the same time, asked how was being my experience, I explained and said that I was waiting a friend to come and help me to boost the battery. The manager was just concerned about the time that I would return the vehicle because he had another reservation after mine, he didn`t offered any help. Terrible experience, imagine if I was someone that didn't know how to boost or if I didn't have anyone to help out. What a headache. Guess what, no discount was provided due to this situation but if I was late, for sure they would charge me.Felipe B.

Truck had not been cleaned inside or out - there were dirty napkins & sunglasses on the dash, fast food garbage under the seats. The truck wasn't running properly and broke down in the 5 minute drive from the pickup location to my building - was told it was the last 15' truck available in the city so didn't have an option but to keep going and risk it. The engine light came on almost immediately, and it was fine moving on the highway but stalled constantly during city driving when stopped in traffic, at a red light, or waiting at a railroad crossing.Darren M.

I highly recomend that some serious attention would be directed to the U-hual app, I had many troubles booking equipment using the app. I would never use the app again because of my experience using it. I am very unhappy with my experience using Uhaul. I booked a cargo van to be available this morning at 10am and when I went to pick up the vehicle, I had troubles using the online log in. There were issues with verification as it required multiple pieces of identification that I did not have with me and when I went to use an additional phone number, it would not let me enter mine or my partners numbers as both are on file for my account, and since I do not have 3 phones, it would not let me proceed. I then went inside to complete the check in in person, and after waiting inside for 5 or 10 minutes with no employee in sight, one showed up to help. He went through the process of checking me in 4 times without success and had to get a manager to help. After a total of about 40 minutes from beginning to end, I then received the key for the cargo van and was told to go on my way. At this point, I was in a rush as I had someone waiting on me to pick up a piece of furniture so I went straight there. At my first stop, I checked my phone and noticed I received a text telling me to verify the equipment condition, and when I clicked this link, it had already expired. This wasn't mentioned when the manager gave me the key for the vehicle and on my way out I did not check my phone or see the notification so I did not know to complete this check, apparently that was a mistake because now I have received my receipt and it claims that I drove 88 kms which I did not. I had the vehicle for approximately 1 hour, making it virtually impossible to drive 88 kms, not only that, I had a short route that I followed on Google maps the entire time and according to maps, the route is 12,6km. I'm frustrated with this experience as it started off negatively and now that I have returned the vehicle, I am still receiving poor service. I have replied to the email with my receipt in order to adjust the charges as they are inaccurate.Matthew C.

Very helpful staff.. Had to return the trailer after hours on Canada day. The fellow working there helped us out despite the storefront being closed. Given that it was Canada day, and he probably wanted to go and enjoy the holiday, he helped us out in a friendly manner, and we really appreciated it. I selected "NO" to question "Would you recommend this location to a friend?" only because this Uhaul branch is located in downtown core of Winnipeg. Driving in downtown core with large Uhaul vehicle with vehicle transport trailer in tow is long and at times difficult to maneuver. Also easy access to gas station in downtown core for a Uhaul vehicle and trailer is impossible to find. Also, I had originally selected a different location in Winnipeg (with easier access) to drop off the vehicle and trailer. This was changed to downtown core while enroute. Tried to change this to different location and was denied.Bruce Thomas F.
I booked a truck to pick up in Thompson. Then I get a call 4 days before I move that there isn't a truck in Thompson. Well why take my reservation?? Then I get a truck to take from Winnipeg When I picked it up at the Dufferin location it took forever because I wasn't â€œin the systemâ€. I was told I get 27 $back when I return at a 1/4 tank. Which I did but never received the money. I was called and asked to return the truck to the century location. I was dropping it off a day early and I decided to call first. The guy has no idea and told me he couldn't refund my deposit anyway. I said ok I'll return it to Dufferin location. The next day a lady from the century location calls for the truck. I told her I'm returning to the Dufferin location and she threatens me with a 300 $charge for dropping it off at the wrong location. Moving is stressful enough.
