The sales rep told me that if I return the truck after hours to "place the key in the box and make sure to park it in a safe space". I received a 20 $service fee. I called and explained that I followed the verbal instructions I was given and the manger took off the service fee. There was a reservation for 11:15 a.m. on 8 October 2021 and there was not a vehicle there at time of pickup. A transfer was made an hour and a half later, as I was sent to another location at Stone Hogan Connector Rd., where no one was present at that location and that individual stated that "they were headed out of town". when communication was made with a phone call. I went back to the Washington Rd. location to inform them that no one was at the previous location. I was finally informed that a truck was brought back while I was away and they could rent it out. The vehicle was dirty and consumed a lot of gas. I had to fill up about five or six times before destination. I did not receive a discount for all the problems I went through that day; the waiting or going to and from to different locations. This was the worst rental experience of my life.BRIDGETTE F.

This was my worst experience I've had with uhaul. First I ordered my truck online and paid 10 $for a dolly. I get to pick up the truck and they don't have any dollys left so I had to go to another location. Next, when I'm getting ready to take the truck back it won't shift gears. I call roadside assistance who sends out someone to look at the truck and he says it's the transmission. Roadside told him to tow the truck. Cool. I then get an emailed receipt saying that my rental more than tripled in price! They charged me 90 $for a dolly j never received and charged me for having the truck for 9 days even though I didn't! I made reservations for the truck originally at the Campbellton Road location a day I've had a time then when I went to pick up the truck at the schedule time they didn't have the truck available so they found the location on Washington Road which I had to travel several extra miles in the original location was less than a mile and a half from my house so that prove to be a extremely important inconvenienceJAIME D.

Front desk personnel was helpful, but the wait time was poor, since she had no one to help. Overall, I received some of the worse customer service, with this order. The issue is,I had to travel across town to this location to get the smaller 10foot truck, which was not what I ordered. Also, I have not seen the lesser rate for the smaller truck. I chose to use the self check in option for the sake of time. I followed the directions to go inside bypass the line and go to the side of the counter to get the key from the CSR, only to be told I needed to get in line (with 4 people ahead of me). I wasted 10 minutes of my rental time waiting for the CSR to decide to give me the keys to the vehicle. IF a client still needs to go inside and stand in line remove the self check in option. I kept telling the lady I had a business account with U-Haul and she kept telling me I need a credit card to rent the pick up truck and I told her I had a account and she said it didn't matterTONY W.
No only was the staff rude, but they did not acknowledge my arrival. They had a sign that said to "Stop here for returning rentals, so I was patiently waiting at the stop sign. I saw a woman just looking, so I asked if they worked here, the woman flicked her badge as to say "cant you see my badge." She waved for me to pull forward and proceeded to check the trailer. She did not close the doors back so when I turned to follow them to the drop off point, the doors flung open, making it unsafe to see in my side mirrors and to drive through the narrow lanes. The storage space was extremely narrow for driving and maneuvering a truck with a trailer. I would NEVER recommend this location and the staff needs to have better customer service skills.Charity H.

The online process of reserving and picking up a vehicle is for the most part pretty great. One issue I have with it is the confusion of which location I have selected when checking out. The biggest issue I had is not knowing how much gas I have to put back into the vehicle before returning it. The online process gives me nothing about that information nor how much I originally had left. I had no papers also to tell me about it.Sabrina F.

When we rented the UHaul our rep advised that we were required to bring the truck back before 8AM the next day (and where to park and leave keys) in order not to be charged extra. We did that and returned the vehicle by midnight instead and we were still charged an extra fee (after hours) and a cleaning fee. Will never be using this location again - bad business practices as these were â€œsurpriseâ€ extra charges. Not recommending this location.Courtney G.

My experience with U-Haul start off OK with the front desk but after I got the truck it appeared be fine but the Box in and of the truck smelled like garbage really bad I didn't want to put my items in there but I didn't have a choice at the time and I wasn't clear about my return time I didn't know they were charge me a whole day for being four hours late and I feel like they should not have charged me the extra maintenance fees considering I didn't have the vehicle any longer so maybe they can be clear on thatTony B.

While in general I had no bad experience, before the security gate was installed it was sometimes difficult to access the storage as you would need to get a key from the office to get into the unit. Besides that, as time passed and management changed, the experience improved. The latest management team was very understanding and helpful. Unfortunately, my financial situation was disturbed and I had to surrender my unit. Thank you U-Haul for being there for me even at my worst.
