The only entrance I was shown was on a old loading dock for semi trucks, the U-Haul trucks are several feet lower than the dock so every thing has to be lifted up to get it into the building. The small area is normally filled with so many U-Haul trucks that you can't get in or out easily with a regular truck let alone try to pull a trailer in and out.Michael L. | Expérience générale

When checked in to pick up rental, the young man was not friendly and seemed annoyed that he had to service me. The pickup I rented was clean on the exterior but the interior smelled of weed, had weed ashes in the door side pockets and the inside of the windshield was grimey. Had to pull over and clean myself so I could see clearly out of the windshield. When I return the vehicle, the return man was very friendly, explained everything nicely, promised to send me an emailed receipt, confirmed my e-mail and then never sent. Given the above, what could have been a positive experience became a blah to disappointing experience.Anthony M.

I ordered a pu truck. I am handicapped and needed it so I could run errands while my vehicle was in the shop. I a lot of trouble getting to the 10 foot truck. Once in it smelled strong of pipe smoke. Since they gave no other option I had to take the truck. Since I had no way of having enough strength to get in and out of this truck I had no choice but to drive home and park it. I had to get a step still to get back in the next morning. Because I knew if I got out I wouldn't be able to get back in without a stool I couldn't get gas. So of course you charged an extremely high gas rate for the few miles I drove. This is the second time I was promised a PU truck and got the wrong equipment last time i ended up in a van.BRENDANUNN G.

Had an online reservation and the check in process till took over an hour and multiple attempts in person. The staff were helpful but I'm not a fan of the check in process. Storage rooms are also far away from the entrance so if you have a lot of things to store, it'll take forever to put it away. This has nothing to do with the location but more with U-Haul in general. I rented a one way trip from Danville VA to Gretna VA. There are 2 locations in Gretna I could choose from to drop off (or so I thought) I picked up in Danville because that was the closest location that has the size truck I needed. So as the day goes on I get a call from U-Haul saying I can't drop off in Gretna and have to return it to Danville cuz the Gretna locations don't allow drop offs (???) So I asked since it is no longer a one way will that lower the price and I was told because I left Danville with the truck even though I was going back to the same location to drop it off it is still considered a one way because I left Danville (???) Danville to Gretna is 34 miles. I was only allowed 38 miles before the mileage fee kicks in hence one of the reasons I wanted to drop off in Gretna. Since I was made to go back to Danville to drop off I was charged another 62 $for mileage on top of the 220 $charge for the one way truck rental. Pretty lousy customer service from U-Haul. I did in the end drop off at a different location still in Danville but was hoping to save my self a couple bucks in the mileage fee. While the gentleman at the location was fabulous, the lady on the phone from U-Haul was anything but.Kellie W.

Guy that helped us was nice and actually opened a few minutes early. Reserved the truck the night before online and they had one ready to go. Making Reservations with U-Haul online (not this location) was relatively easy. They will try to trip you up with already adding the dolly, blankets, boxes and furniture covers to order without adding them yourself. YOU MUST zero out the items you don't need before checkout. Or you'll be charged. That's tricky IMO and should be asked to add if need when checking out. While overall experience was a good one the small nickel and dime stuff they do to get the fee up is aggravating.MICHAEL G.

The two people behind the counter were discussing a client trying to rent a van. Talking about rates and such and how this fan would be booked before she made up her mind. I went over in mileage by 7,9 miles. Traveling from Charlottesville to Danville Virginia. I told them I was moving and this is my second time using uhaul in the last month still charged me 3,5 cents for the slight overage in miles. Extremely disappointing. Plus, I asked why this was the only location I could drop it off atâ€¦. no answer. If I could of dropped it off in Chatham, my mileage would have been fine. So, it's my fault your company would only let me drop it off at a store further away from my destination? I still need to move another storage unit. Will not be using Uhaul. The experience in Danville was unprofessional and not helpful.Zachary S.
Employee at the front desk was DISRESPECTFUL! He gave me the paperwork and told me the truck was outside. I asked him which truck and he refused to answer. I paid for a hand truck and he didn't give it to me. A white employee heard me complaining and he assisted me. Showed me which truck I was to get and gave me a hand truck. Excellent service from the staff in the Danville, Va location. What I was not too happy about is that the computer system was down the entire day 5/1/2021. This really was a big inconvenience for us.
