Maurice LThe guy gave me a key to a truck. It would not open it. Guy came out. turned it no problem. Then I tried to start it and it wouldn't turn. Didn't want o break the key so went back. Guy turned it...I felt stupid. He left I got back in the truck and it wouldn't turn again. I went back in and he came back out with me. He tried several time to turn it and then it finally did, but he acknowledged there was an issue. I said I didn't want to get stuck somewhere and I felt I wanted another truck. He agreed. I went back inside waited on line again and then got another truck. Waaaayyy too much hassle for me, and time delays when I was in a rush. People were nice, but it was a cluster.

Glenn BThe truck was one I have rejected previously. The driver's seat is broken down, it has no rear view camera, the check engine light came on and the tire sensor light was on. It's my suspicion that 10' trucks are a bit of an odd rental and don't turn over as often as other vehicles. I'd take a 9' van, but being able to stand up straight while lifting heavy objects is kind of crucial. The staff at this location are always kind and helpful.

DREW WWhen I called to make a reservation, I spoke to Gary and told him I wanted a 10 footy box truck. I got there checked in and was given a key. But the key was not for a box truck, but a pickup. So I had to go back in to straighten it out, which delayed me by 12 minutes.....On a better note, I left my jacket in the truck and they called me to tell me and held it until the next day when I [picked it up. That was great service there. Merci.
liam gReturned auto transport back to the location that I picked it up to make things easier for the staff, but in the long run I should just leave it at the front door. I spoke to the lot attendant and told him where it was with my contract, and he never sign it back in. The person Fay I spoke with was excellent removed the charge from my bill, I also had a picture from when I returned unit.
Tim BService was great - the same guy helped me on pickup and dropoff, and he was very friendly and efficient. The facility itself is also reasonably nice (for a U-Haul location) - vehicles staged and ready to deliver, etc. My only issue was that the particular vehicle I received was VERY old (120k+ miles) and in pretty rough condition... If I needed to take it a longer distance (even 1 hour away) I would have asked for a different vehicle. Fortunately I was only doing 20-30 miles roundtrip, so not a big deal.

William CHaving a simple transaction such as having a hitch installed, I didn't really set myself up for high expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with the different options for my needs, the availability of appointments and the expedience of the service the day of. I arrived early and was taken in early, offered a cozy seating area and was finished in less time than expected. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Of note is that this is my third time using this location (once for a hitch on another vehicle as well as a rental of a vehicle) and they have all been excellent experiences.

Luckily I was there a minute before store closed, why would access be denied if it was a new reservation. Fix your system and have someone available 24 hours or later than 8 pm . Not fair for customers to have to return next day because your access system or your employees didn't register my access card correctly

The only hangup I persisently encountered were the key card scanners. Since day 1, it often took 10 or more swipes to get them to read the card.

Catherine B | Expérience généraleThis place is a dump, and from the interactions with managers that we had, it's easy to see why. Don't be enticed by the one month of free storage like we were. Store your stuff someplace else. The major issue we had was that part of the ceiling to our unit collapsed, covering everything in sheetrock dust. The person they contracted to repair it fell through the ceiling into our unit, injured himself, and had to climb back out by standing on our couch. Poor guy! We weren't notified of any of this - just arrived to find a huge mess and damaged property. The manager at the time, Denny, was defensive, standoffish and basically refused to do much to help us. Everything went through U-Haul's insurance company, RepWest (which, blessedly, was professional and efficient. Denny eventually was replaced, and the new manager, Chelsea (same last name as Denny), was more willing to work with us to come to a solution. Still, it doesn't feel like the left hand is talking to the right at this place. I sent messages about the situation to U-Haul corporate and never heard anything back. You have to scan a keycard twice to unlock the outside door, but the access panel was always more finicky than a NYC subway gate, and sometime in the last couple months it was broken, so management had to come let you in (assuming they were there.) There's this vaunted security system, but on multiple occasions we arrived to find that someone had propped the outside door open with a cinderblock. I really appreciate the convenience of U-Haul's truck and trailer rental, but if you have a choice, store your stuff someplace else.

Tony was polite, efficient, fair, and good at his job, but more than that, I was struck by his warmth - talking to him, you know he wants to help you. What I'd anticipated would be a stress-filled day of tight connections and challenging logistics turned into a joy. From little things like recommending the best products for protecting our mattress and sofas to helping to quickly resolve a billing question, Tony really was the cherry on top of a two-week cross-country moving odyssey. My wife and I felt so taken care of, to the point that we were sad to say goodbye to Tony when our storage unit move-in and trailer returns were complete. I really can't thank him enough for the way he conducts business. Tony is a credit to the U-Haul organization, and deserving of every accolade it can muster.

However I told the person at the desk to whom I handed over the keys that though I wanted NOTHING back the room I was vacating, it contained several boxes of brand new and expensive books, video cassettes, CDCs, sheets of stamps for collectors, unused new greeting cards for all occasions, unopened packages of stationery etc etc and it broke my heart that all this would be thrown into garbage. I pleaded that the boxes be opened and checked and these materials be salvaged NOT FOR RETURN TO ME but either to be kept by an employee for personal use or for sale or for donation to library or goodwill stores. I was promised that not only would this be done but that any bank statements that may be there would be shredded and that any family photographs that may be found would be returned to me or I would be called to pick them up. The lady even asked me for my phone number and wrote it down. She promised that I would be informed. My only regret is that I have not heard a word from your office in this matter. So, NO DISPUTES, ONLY REGRETS, I feel that someone who had the storage for years deserved this courtesy. Except for this, I found the staff friendly and helpful and the facility the best that one can have.
GHULAM H | Expérience généraleMinor issue: I usually had to find staff to get the sliding glass door unlocked during normal open hours. The main door has a large threshold that makes it difficult to move a heavy or fully loaded cart into the facility without risk of damage from items falling off. This can get pretty frustrating when you need to move a large volume of items in a hurry. It'd be less of an issue if the threshold of the main door is fixed to allow carts to easily roll in. Otherwise, it's a great facility and I'd be happy to rent a space again if I return to the Danbury area.
