The App performs poorly in weak network settings. There is no feedback on failed network. Also, there is no obvious navigation to get directly to "check in" or "check out" of reservation. This is buried behind clicks from the from menu.

I called the location & U-haul a collective 20+ times and was only able to get through to someone twice. Both said they would call me back & never did. I also am getting charged $99 for a u-box delivery from this location, but they never delivered it, instead they contracted it to four brothers moving. I am very unsatisfied with the 45 minute+ wait times on the phones and the fact I could have avoided (and am now being billed) June storage rent had someone actually picked up the phone in May when I was attempting to arrange a delivery. Will have to think again when I need storage in the future.

There were a lot of people hanging outside the building that didn't have a UHaul uniform on telling me where to go but I couldn't tell if they even worked there, so I would have them at least wear a UHaul shirt or tag. Pick up all of the dumped trash around the outside. When I pulled up to drop off, the person helping me was friendly and helpful.

The drop off was fast and easy. No issues. The problems we had were the site location to pick up. No one called us and told us they were going to be closed by 10am and our pick up was confirmed for 11am. Very inconvenient and frustrating.

In the morning my reservation said to pick up my van at 500 Paul Ave at 9am. When I got there I couldn't complete my check in via the app and so I waited in line. After 15 min in line I got an email saying my reservation is now at 1525 Bryant at 9:30. I called them and they said there was nothing they could do. I took a second Uber over to that location. When I got there they gave me a van which 1) was blocked in by a pickup truck and 2) had no gas. This all caused me close to a two hour delay and is completely unacceptable. Unless you make it right I will never rent from uhaul again and will recommend all of my family and friends against the company.

It seemed like we had some issues with the app. Specially trying to report damage and uploading photos. After talking to the representative she confirmed photos were accepted but it was frustrating on the day, especially as we were stressed with moving already, it was raining cats and dogs and we uploaded pictures twice. The confirmation person or additional identification requirements should be something that can be done prior to picking up. It just added more stress and delay.

The online service was a joke. It saved no time and the dollar amount expected was different than I was told/shown online so everything was slowed down. You need to have information for every customer to know the gallon capacity if you want us to fill it up to 1/4 tank. I was told one thing, did the math, and then overfilled it. Seems like a scam since I was given the wrong information.

Train your Cashiers re: to issue a receipt for every transaction. And, train store return policy. Today the Cashier insisted only store credit without a receipt. I understand that a return may be refunded to your debit/credit card as long as the customer can show the card used for the transaction. We were at an impass so I had to request a Supervisor for assistance. He was efficient & my refund was returned to my card. Thank you. Other than that this location is excellent????????????

Parking in the area is my biggest concern. I've known the area for some 30 years, so I know the benefits and deficits of the location. But if I balance the location against the number of vehicles that are available, my answer is "possibly". However, the return area is far more limiting that the Bayshore location.

First trucked a cracked windshield, second truck was almost out of gas. I was lucky there was a gas station 4 blocks away. They also gave me a broken key chain and the manager said to me just don't lose the part with the number on it.

Staff was efficient and professional. Only issue, which was minor, is they said they'd load my rental add-ons onto truck (dolly, hand truck and blankets), but instead, they were left by parking lot exit for me to load myself. Also, I'd recommend (during open hours) having a staff member offer to walk to vehicles with the renter, review condition together and go over basics of driving the trucks - no more than 5 minutes in person would be needed (as an alternative to self-service/mobile option).

Every time I have used online reservations thinking I have completed everything, once I go to the office, they complete a new form, even though I give them my reservation number. The online website does not ask for photo ID and any other missing information that the office wANTS. This should be fixed to improve efficiency and time savings for me a customer and the office.

Everything fine until I had to do an after hours dropoff. It was not clear where to park the truck. A young African American man was locking the doors and I asked him where to park the car. Apparently the door locking took precedent because he made me wait til he finished. He told me to park in a spot near where I was. The spots are a bit odd and I was tired and didn't see I was supposed to back in. Admittedly I did a crazy job parking. As I was folding the blankets he came out and said "hey bro, you gotta do better than that. What does it take to park a truck?" Paraphrase but something like that. Not "could you please move forward and back into the spot!!" Really hostile. So I said "OK bro I'm on it." Well that set him off. He started taking photos and then got into his car which was parked on the street. Another young man was in there too. He sat there and stared at my while I folded the blankets and then backed in the vehicle. When I got out he was still there staring me down. Just then my ride pulled up maybe 20 feet in front of him and honked the horn. Clearly he was there for me. Your employee then drove off the road onto the Uhaul driveway and did a circle around my car and turned around and went the other way. Clearly this was meant to intimidate. He then slowly drove away staring at me the whole time. This incident was incredibly threatening and you need to do something about it. My number is 415-519-4865. And I have a witness to the intimidation.

Rented a truck for 30 days and needed to put it on my admins credit card. she was not there, so I was told that they needed a card from me since I was the licensed driver. They told me that they just needed a credit card to hold that it would not be charged until I brought the truck back to check condition and miles. A day later my card was charged for all 30 days. make sure all you associates know the rules that apply. a lot of work to get my money back

First truck was parked in behind another and they didn’t have someone free to move the blocking truck. Agent changed my reservation to a different model truck. Second truck smelled lightly of smoke and had a blood filled syringe in the glove box. A needle cover was in the seat cushions. Agent changed my reservation to third truck. Third truck had cardboard and newspaper wedged behind the seats. I decided to take this one anyway. When sending the text message to verify the truck condition I kept getting the link for the first truck, not the one I had been changed too. When I did get the correct link the message came in a batch of 4 so I had to dig through them to find the correct verification link.

The customer service at this location is some of the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They were rude over the phone, misinformed me and contradicted each other on multiple occasions, and were generally not helpful. In fact, despite 8+ calls yesterday, my issue has still not been resolved. I ordered two U-boxes at the recommendation of U-Haul customer service. They said that changing to one U-Box if I didn't have enough items would be quick and simple. This was the first lie they told me. Over the entire day yesterday, I struggled to get them to change my order details and price they were charging me to accurately reflect my order. First, they rudely told me that it would not be possible to switch my order from two to one Uboxes. I had to ask THEM to talk to their Manager, as their website clearly says this (in addition to another customer service agent telling me the same thing). After having to convince them that this was their correct policy, they told me the order would be changed once the Ubox arrived at the facility. An hour after it arrived, no change was made. When I called them the second time, they had no idea my order was changing. After this call, they once again claimed they changed it. Once again, no change was reflected in my order details. This happened multiple times more. Finally, the Manager of the San Francisco facility manually drafted a new contract and sent it to me by email. The shipping price was changed to accurately reflect my new order. However, I was still charged incorrectly for my storage fee. My order details STILL says 2 Uboxes. They have not been responsive when following up on this, and I have found this entire process unprofessional, frustrating, and incredibly stressful. This experience truly makes me wonder if my possessions will make it to my final destination.

Overall everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. A few details on pricing fell through the cracks, but I was quite pleased with the service of the Uboxes, moving help (Rubix movers out of Sacramento rocked getting everything in to 2 Uboxes without damaging anything & Two Brothers in Grand Rapids took great care unpacking fragile items into storage). The drivers delivered the boxes on time & Christian at Kalamazoo Uhaul was kind enough to offer storing the Uboxes indoors over night until movers could get there. I was dreading this move, and I am happy to recommend UHaul & movinghelp, because you all greatly reduced my stress level and saved me a lot of money by not having to drive across country myself. I am truly grateful. It is a wonderful alternative to traditional moving companies. Thank you, thank you, & thank you!!!

I don't remember U-haul visits in the past being this frustrating. This whole visit should've been less than 10 minutes but took about 25-30 minutes of useless bs. I hope I never have to go to another U-haul if all of the others are likes this. The person assisting me didn't tell me where I'm supposed to pick up the moving blankets. When I went back inside and asked she said someone will bring them when I drive the van down from the lot. I did and no one was there. I had to go back inside again and ask where. To take pictures of the vehicle damage through the link provided by text message is ridiculous. You are required to approve or dispute damage on the rental before taking it out. You have to upload a picture on your phone if you dispute damage. The problem is you can't zoom in on the picture to compare damage! Plus, there's no notes/comments of said damage. I took a picture of the top of the rental van just in case (since I can't compare) because there was giant dent on the roof. Loading a picture takes forever. Finally, I got to the next screen and the gas gauge was incorrect. I take a picture of that and click next to move on, but I get an error message saying I have to "upload a picture" even though I can clearly see the picture I took. I try to upload another one and I get, "You have uploaded the maximum number of pictures." It also didn't help that this was my second attempt as the first attempt timed out from taking too long to load the damn web page. I have unlimited data on my phone, I have full service with LTE, and I use the latest iPhone (Xs). I gave up trying to upload pictures of the damage/incorrect gas gauge and took my own pictures stored on my phone. Seriously a waste of time and extremely frustrating. Fix your stuff U-haul.

The computer system was down when I pick up the vehicle, it took more than 45 minutes for me to get the pick up truck. I didn't receive a paper contract, it came thru my email. The actual gas meter reading was less than what was stated on the contract (I took a picture by my cell phone before I leave the store). I re-fueled the gas before I turn in the truck and it was the same level when I received the truck. The inspector charged me the re-fuel without telling me. He told me I will receive the final contract by email. This is a clear scam of over charging and I will report it to the Department Consumer Affairs and post it online.

The truck that was rented to us was a poor estimate of size. Our one bedroom apartment did not fit in the truck and we needed to get a Ubox in addition to the truck, which blew our budget. It was a terrible experience with Uhaul. The customer service group that I spoke with also assured me the Bryant St Manager would call me and they havent. I will reccomend all friends and family in the future steer clear of using uhauls for their next moves. It made our move much more stressful and over budget than it needed to be.

The van I rented had a cracked window on the sliding door. When I got the van, there was no one to check the van and document damages. The app invite I was supposed to receive to document pre-existing damages never came through. There was also a van parked in front of the one I was provided, taking precious time away from my rental window. This happened last time. When I called, Johnny was very rude. I told him I couldnt reserve over the phone due to the fact that I was driving, he then says “are you really drivig, because I just heard a door close”. I told him I did not appreciate his comment and that It was really none of his business what I was doing at that exact moment (picking up a coworker, so i was driving). He then ignores the fact that I was upset and only answers with “are you going to give me the card information for the reservation?”, i told him i would do it when i arrived, he said “good luck, we’re really busy, just give me the information”, i then had to tell him “none of that matters, all you need to know is that I can not do it right now, and who do you think you are talkig to customers like this”. I then hung upc i was not going to go to this location anymore but the only other location with the truck i needed wasn’t open yet. Then to top it off when I arrived at your location, I asked a gentlemen at the parking space, “where can i park to get a truck?”, he answered withba dismissive attitude, “I don’t know, you can’t be parking here though”, then turns around and walks away as if I wasnt talking to me, He was wearing Uhaul uniform so I know he was an employee and saw him working when ai later dropped off the rental. The gentlemen that receive the trucks were great, amazing attitude, great customer service, the only good part of this all. I definitley will never visit this location again. Horrible way to treat people.

With a couple exceptions the staff at the counter seems completely unaware of the stress of a moving process. The initial check-in process is cumbersome and just very slow and the amount of info seems ridiculous for renting a storage space. Why can't a lot of that info be shared at the time of booking to save time on the day of the move? Yesterday on my move-out of the space, I rented a truck for the day returned by 1pm. Received a call at 5pm asking if I was returning the truck today. This caller had no idea that it had been returned. While moving into my storage space in Sept I had to run a homeless person out of my unit as I was working with my movers back and forth from the moving van. She had climbed the stairs and was starting to sort through my boxes. Yesterday, I was moving out of my unit and went to the truck for another load and had left blankets on the floor by the unit. Came back and they were gone. I caught the guy that took them. A homeless guy who said he had a unit there. I would not recommend the location to others.
