The workers behind the front desk were generally quite nice and helped wherever they could. However, the first van was missing its catalytic converter. The van second had a cracked windshield when I got it and smelled strongly of smoke. The smoke smell was mentioned as likely due to someone smoking while cleaning the vehicle, and was overwhelming until the vehicle was properly aired out. The vehicle worked well enough on the road though. Also, returning via the website is a mess. Trying to access my rental using the rental number and name without a login is totally non-functional. After logging in and associating the rental, the location page had issues where it wouldn't ask for location permission. Also, that page was mostly unnecessary. The final (I think) page of the return had greyed out numbers and no completion button, making me feel like I couldn't complete my return. It turns out I only really needed to park the van and drop off the keys, which would have been a wonderful experience if it was clear that was all I needed to do.

I had reserved a truck in advance but the computer was having trouble with locating information or verifying what I needed. I suggest just update the systems so the clerk doesn't have to be hassled and the process can go smoothly. My guys I hired to help made it to my place and I was still checking out the truck.

Charity the customer service representative at the desk was wonderful. However when obtaining our truck, no one will assist us in pulling it out of a very tight spot between multiple trucks. A ground worker for U-Haul stated it's all yours now insinuating that it is not his responsibility to help us. Also the truck was damaged in multiple areas and the photos that were provided to us to compare were not up-to-date whatsoever, easily causing the person who rents the truck to be liable for previous damage to the vehicle. We spoke to the manager and he said that we should have no worries. That was not comforting

I reserved this over the phone on a Friday morning. It was supposed to be for an after hours 8pm pick up. 24 hour total rental. When I got there at 8:03 an employee in the parking lot told me the store was closed and I said I have an after hours rental. Another employee came out and got my name then went back inside to check the computers. When they came back out they said they had no record of my reservation and i tried to give them my order confirmation # and they said they were closed call uhaul. Then they locked the doors. I stood in the parking lot calling uhaul who informed me my wait time would be 50 to 62 minutes. After waiting in the parking lot for an additional 20 minutes I rode home still on hold. At one hour and 9 minutes the call disconnected from Uhauls side. I called back and waited another 40 plus minutes to speak to someone. Janine answered and said she apologized for the mess up but whoever I spoke with originally didn't enter something correctly so I wasn't set up for an after hours reservation. To which I replied if the store closes at 8pm and I say I want to pick it up at 8pm an employee would either say a) that location closes at 8 so you would have to come sooner or b) let me set you up with an after hours pick up. Janine says she had it situated and changed my reservation for 8 am the following day. (Over 2 hours of my time wasted on uhauls incompetence). The next morning I arrived and checked out with the assistant manager. I explained the mess up from the night before. He credits my account $50 and hands me the keys (no truck check, no walk through, nothing). I have van for the event I needed and then went to return it after hours again. When I get to the location the app says they have no record of me having any equipment. I wait on phone for ANOTHER hour to try to return the keys since I left the truck parked there and locked it. The woman I spoke with that evening was RUDE as all get out. What utter incompetence at all levels. Then they tried to charge me when I had paperwork showing I had a credit!

Sadly, we had a strrict schedule to maintain and the truck, when we picked it up setting in the yard of your facility, had been vandalized by the catalytic converter being cut out and stolen. Thus, the muffer was unable to contain the noise of motor operation. We had used this same truck the previous week and it operated very well back then. Your reps were courteous about all this, but we suggest that a visual inspection by them before assigning to renters be used for future rentals if the potential for more vandalism exists. Outrside of this, the truck performed well.

The location services on the website weren't working, so I had to go into the store for the rental. There was a line of about 4 people that took 30 minutes. The truck was damaged. I ordered 2 dollies with my rental to help with the move; they weren't in the truck. I had to wait 20 minutes in the return line before being helped when I went to return the rental.

I feel that my Uhaul experience couldn't be improved on, I exclusively rent ALL my trucks from this location and have never been happier with the service from the staff, they always make picking up and dropping off so effortless, they have every supply you'll need in stock and if you have a question they have the answer! I'm also impressed by the condition of the equipment TOP NOTCH as well, This location really is WAY ABOVE the other locations I've used and the Uhaul online reservations is fast and easy to use, moving has so much stress involved its great to know your here to make sure it goes smooth!

The lady on the phone was extremely rude and I didn't receive all the supplies I paid for because she put them away and got mad at me for "letting it sit there for a week" even though we were on time for my scheduled pick up that I set up online. While we were there she was mocking me and laughing about it. Everything about my experience was super unprofessional and unorganized. Not to mention everything was really gross and my friend driving the uhaul found a bottle of what seemed to be urine from the last driver in the front. Absolutely disgusting.

Leaving the equipment with the keys in it is potentially "messy", as are returns with several vehicles parked in the returns line without going inside. But great service, place and vehicles are always clean, well maintained, and newer. Rented from here since they opened.

U guys said i ran up 400 miles on a 20 a day vehicle.$119 6 days u already took $210 out my account .. it came out to $375 just in miles ..you guys need to change the that... cuz thats where you all are banking off of..

The truck I rented either has a front passenger wheel that is out badly of balance, or other problem. When carrying a load it was exacerbated by poor road conditions on I-44 near Cuba, Mo. Less so with no load on return. Truck was drivable and all ended up well.

Check engine light came on shortly after departure. Unlikely a new problem (catalyst system below threshold limit) and light likely cleared by U-Haul prior to pick up. This caused a delay in transport due to a prolonged stop when the light came on after the truck was full.

The trailer I had reserved hadn't been returned so manager on duty contacted another location -no luck. He made sure I had a trailer at a very good rate. Then came the even better part. I had a blown fuse and, despite it being after closing time, he helped me locate the fuse and get it replaced so I could be on my way. Solid move. Also, when I dropped it off, there was a gentleman that helped me problem solve getting the trailer off the hitch because it proved to be a challenge I couldn't figure out.

**CHECK EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR UHAUL. PLEASE read full review as this location is actually pretty great** My mother drove my uhaul for me since I am more than halfway through my pregnancy, and unfortunately it appears the uhaul we rented was not examined thoroughly before we got it. As we were loading up from our move, a LOADED HEROIN NEEDLE, UNCAPPED, was found in the truck with THREE PILL CAPSULS of heroin. When we returned the uhaul to John's Service in Arnold (DO NOT GOVE THAT MAN/LOCATION BUSINESS AT ALL. EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL). My mother called the service line extremely upset as this put my unborn child and I, my boyfriend, and my mother all at risk- the representative was extremely helpful and very apologetic, empathizing with my mother on the horrible experience. Manager Keith did not hesitate to authorize a full refund to my mother for the incident. While it will not erase what happened, in time my family and I will be at ease and not think too often of the situation. **Great location, helpful and pleasant personnel, will not dock this location for the mistake of one employee, just PLEASE thoroughly examine/clean out these vehicles before others rent as this could have ended in much different and worse ways**

I can't remember the gentleman‘s name I don't think he was the head manager but he was there in the morning that I picked up my rental. He was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. I gave him 11 out of 10. I couldn't have been happier with a face-to-face customer service experience.

Delivery drivers were GREAT on both ends. Very professional, very friendly. It was a little tough getting the right person on the line, using your phone system. I wasted hours on it. But with patience I usually got someone who was very helpful. Your online account portal is a mess. It still shows wrong info for me. And your payment emails are confusing. BUT . . . in the end the whole experience was a great value, a perfect fit for the way I needed to make my move, and nothing was broken!!!! Yes. I would use you guys again, and I would recommend these containers to others.

I hired guys to move me from the storage to my home as well. The company phoned the day before their scheduled date to confirm everything. The movers called also the next morning of the move to confirm time & location and they phoned to give eta, as in route. The young man named Jimmie @ Helping Hands-worked professionally, was very helpful and was strictly about the business of moving!! I give Jimmie ***** stars !! I'll definitely recommend people I know to us U-Haul's Helpers @ Helping Hand. Everything went smoothly.

My interaction with your legal department and local staff, helped accomplish what i needed while somewhere other than Missouri. I hope the severed lock were noted in rounds made by security, I don't know when or who did it. While on hold, a manager checked and the contents were there but the lock severed. In the last couple months that we rented there it seemed like this location was trying harder to make everything safer and more secure. When we first moved our belongings into the storage facility I was really put out by how unhelpful the workers were, and how sketchy the location was. But in the last few months we had no issues, felt very secure each time we visited, and were impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the helpfulness of the staff.

Had sticky pad for bugs/rodents in unit. Upon leaving unit there were dozen plus roaches on pad, items there for 3mo. Terrified may have brought some with me upon moving my items to new place. Great staff always friendly and helpful said had a bug issue with a tenant think its under control

I've been here before for storage rental and truck rental…this time was not good. The girl behind the counter acted like she had better things to do than wait on customers - she barely spoke to me and when she did I wasn't even sure if she WAS talking to me because she was eating at the same time. Quite unprofessional. I felt like I was interrupting or annoying her, which is never a good feeling for a customer. :( Then when I tried to come back at 7:45pm to put some things in my storage unit, my key card wouldn't work and said it was "after hours" although the reader displayed access hours until 10pm. Soooo…that is also an issue.

It's down the street from me. But the young man should have told me by me having a net spend card they took a hundred a something off my card an didn't tell me I wouldn't get my money back for a week but when I turned the truck back in another person name pop up I would have paid cash if they would have told me that.

Due to the homeless people trying to break in and steal stuff it just causes a big problem. It affects people that work daily hours I need to be able to access things after 7 p.m.. it makes things almost impossible for somebody to get something done.

Every time I rent truck 🛻 This time I went for truck but that’s miss understanding they give me storage and locker key they charge money ,I was like what I need truck not storage then they give me truck and return my money back but I don’t take locker and key I left there but they don’t give me money back like $13

I rented a storage locker at the South County location months ago. While Keith, the manager, did act professionally I have a negative experience while checking out. As a customer acting in good faith, I pre-paid my rental every month. This most recent pay period I pre-paid for October and November. It was to go from the 15th to the 15th. Your records will reflect this information. I was able to retrieve all my belongings and check out on the 16th. I requested a pro-rated refund because I only used the unit for one day yet paid for the entire month. I was told, rudely, by the front line staff "NO PRORATES!" While I understand that as a business model, I explained that they could rent the unit to another customer thereby making more money. Again, I was treated rudely. I want access to UNIT 1302 until November 15th, since I paid for it. Do not rent that unit, although it is empty, to another customer. I wanted to provide this negative feedback and I will update a YELP review as well. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information that might be helpful. On tje very first day I arrived with my moving company at this facility, the two individuals employees I was dealing with were absolutely horrific. So much so to where I had to contact the District Manager the following day.

I can't remember her name, but the young lady that set up my account initially and she was also there the day that I emptied my storage locker for the first time. It was completely wonderful engaging and made the experience great. There were some hiccups along the way with adequate payment processing and auto payment not being set up. However, her disposition makes all of the errors utterly OK with me. Also, your regional VP I spoke with took the time to give me a call and apologize for another situation. If I do use a location again, I will use this one.

You have to use an access card each time you enter the building. If you're bringing in 100 loads, you're going to have to swipe your card 100 times. Pretty inconvenient.

The staff was awesome! I just finished a 12 hr drive, so I was exhausted. They made everything super easy and even walked me through how to use the self-storage access doors. This was some of the best customer service I've had in a long time.

Absolutely horrific customer service. The worst I've ever come across. I've been in the Customer Service industry over 30+ years, and if I would have come even close to having treated one of my customers the way I was treated I would be on the unemployment line immediately. The two staff members I dealt with were beyond unsatisfactory.

There is water leaking in my unit from an overhead AC. I anticipate only needing it for a month or less so I put my things away from the water and covered them with plastic. I hope that's enough to keep them safe from mold.

Bathroom on 2nd floor was closed. Bathroom on 1st floor had no toilet paper. When the office was notified, attendant indicated that she would call custodial services. I was kind of amazed - what is so hard about getting a roll of TP for a customer?
