i called and called let know could not bring truck back before 5:30 pm. nobody answer never called back my mother called no answer charged me $60,47 been trying to charge my cc i still been calling no answer. truck window was dirty could not see out of it no assistance to explain how much extra of charge they will not answer the phone. poor customer service i have never seen company not answer the phone or return your call.stephanie B.
Upon drop off the young male rep went to the truck to check mileage and would not come back into the office with me. He explained the cost and thr mileage cost at $1,36 a mile and I corrected by saying, what I was quoted upon renting. He said he was confused with weekly rates and weekend. Then I explained that I needed a printed receipt and He said, "go in and get a receipt from them if you wanted a printed receipt because I have to stay with the truck and go clean it" . I was confused because I was in a pince for time because my daughter had a doctor's appointment and I needed to get her ready to leave to drive to L A. I went back to the office alone and No one was available or there, after yelling, "Hello" multiple times/about 6 or so minutes, then I walk back out and that same rep is still in the truck I rented for less than 24 hours. He drove up to get in line to clean it and looked at me. He said, "Did you get the receipt?" I told him the issue and no one is was in there and he said, "Someone is always supposed to be there" and he peeled out the truck reluctantly and walked back into the office area to print out a receipt. I had mentioned that I was in a hurry during the first walk to get the mileage and after but the rep was NOT concerned and kept repeating ok, I hope you're having a great day. I am and was NOT happy with this service rep returning the truck. Initially renting the truck was a pleasant experience. That return/different staff definitely needs working.Nikolette L.

Left brake light / blinker was dimmed dramatically. Horn didn't not work( was reported the day I rented the truck). It smelt like weed in the back when we go it. Brakes may need to be checked we had to stand on them to stop when vehicle was fully loaded.Ashley M.

I was sent to Sierra Hwy location after trying to pick up from my original location on W Ave L for an hour with no success. No one called the night before to confirm in order to proceed with mobile pickup. So even though I had already paid I wasn't able to get the truck. I talked to no less than 6 people who kept transferring me to the next person who couldn't help. Not a good experience but I did finally go to the main location and pick up my reservation. They were quick and helpful.Eric T.

I had originally reserved the box for a closer location. So I had to spend extra money and time moving my items to the Lancaster location. I would appreciate Uhaul letting the customer know two weeks ahead of time instead of two days before. It was very inconvenient but luckily I got it done. When I went to return the trailer in Riverside, I arrived at 5:03 on a Sunday night and the location was closed. I called custormer service and was on hold until 5:58 pm only to be told that I had to take the trailer off of my car and place it in the lot. The employees at Uhauls don't unhook trailers, only hook them up due to liability. I explained to the extremely rude customer service representative that I have never had to unhook a trailer anytime I have rented one and that I had no idea how to unhook a trailer. He told me to watch a video on YouTube and do it. I explained to him that I have my left wrist in a cast which would make it extremely difficult to remove it one handed and he acted like it didn't matter. I finally told him that I had to be at work at 8:00 Monday morning in a town 2 hours away and that uhaul could either send someone to my place of employment to retrieve their trailer between 8:00 and 4:00 the next day, or I would drop it off at the uhaul location in my home town at 4:00. He told me that I would be charged a large sum of money (no amount given) if I did that. I took the trailer to the Lancaster CA uhaul and Michael was great about taking the trailer off my car, even with all the difficulty he had trying to get it unhooked. Evidently, whomever hooked up my trailer, had turned the locking device much harder than was needed as Michael had to fight with it to get it off and had to locate some gloves in order to unhook it. He explained to me that due to the fact I was leaving it in Lancaster, I would be charged 2x a one-way trip price. Since I could not drive to Riverside until Saturday due to work, and as I was already being charged almost 3 times what I had originally contracted for to just do it as I did not want to have to drive all week with that trailer on my car. I would not use the Riverside uhaul location again, nor would I recommend it to anyone there. I would however, recommend Michael and the Lancaster uhaul to anyone as I have used them multiple times and never had an issue.JANE H.
#1 The trailer brakes did not work on the trailer #2 The location told me I could not drop the trailer back off on the night it was due back because of theft. So I was charged an extra day to drip it off the next morning.Mike C.

Truck was cleared with check engine light on, sounded like a monster truck which apparently is not normal, pretty sure it has an exhaust leak or something. When I called to tell them, I was told I would receive a call back but never did, luckily the truck made the 900 mile trip with no issues other than annoying the driver.Andrea G.

It was a hassle to get an employee to help when needed. When I called the phone number for help they would delay in responding. Once they responded they put me on hold and didn't get back to me. I had a difficult time getting someone to open the unloading door that was locked. Employees were all bunched up talking in the front and didn't care to answer phones. When I dropped off it was 7:58 Friday night. The lady inside the office turned off the lights and exited the back door. They were right next to where I was dropping off the trailer. They didn't even say good night and drove off. I left the trailer and took pictures for proof. You can check your numerous cameras on my story. Staff wasn't commented to promise of a storage that was made on a upgrade to a larger unit. I cancelled service after 4 days an use another storage facility that was able to get the size unit I needed. When the manager at uhaul had promise me it was available unit. Most everything about the facility made me comfortable with storing my stuff there. It seemed secure and the climate control is a plus. Stass were great. The only issue I had was the app. It didn't let me upload the pics of the damages on the truck. It kept saying there was an error uploading, but the staff asked me to just take pictures and that I would be okay. So I took pictures and told the staff about the scratches and bumps on the truck. Staff member very rude and unhelpful. Lack of professionalism and courtesy. Unwilling to accommodate or fix issues if Uhaul online reservations makes a mistake such as renting a truck at a specific location for a one way but then when you get there they only have a round trip truck available. Now everything is sitting outside of their storage unit with no truck. Its either wait to see if one becomes available and move everything back into the storage unit or pay the extra $100 in mileage. Staff completely incompetent and rude. They did. It have the appliance dolly I reserved which was needed and showed no concern. Also, they didn't supply the paid for furniture pads nor the other dollys I paid for. The truck was completely empty and employees has no concern while they were hurrying to count their money draws to leave for the day. The real kicker here was I was told they also didn't have available my reserved storage space needed to move all of my items (the purpose of having the truck). Then when I leave with the truck and open the back up at my location. There was NO equipment. No dolly no pads. Nothing. I am seeking compensation and damages. I had a paid crew ready with nothing to load the truck with and no where to bring it. Worst customer service and lack of integrity I have ever experience in a company. The day I was moving my things into my storage unit, I had trouble accessing the unit because the pull-down door was off track. The first thing I did was request assistance. I never did get assistance and I had to leave. I came back and the problem wasn't resolved. Although I tried more than 10 times, I could not reach anyone by intercom or by calling the store's phone number. My phone call finally was kicked over to an overflow line (I think) and this woman tried to help but was unable. I finally went up to the u-haul store and asked for help. After going back to my unit I waited another hour to get help. For my inconvenience, I was given a free lock for my unit. The only problem was that my storage unit was never locked. I had to go back up to the u-haul store, get the lock, go back to the unit, and then lock the unit. Very frustrating experience. I'm a patient person and I know it was very busy this day.
