Not a pleasant experience at all! We arranged to pick up truck at 7am. We arrived around 7:40 and were told in the future if we were to be running late to call and let someone know because the truck reservation can only be held for 1 hour. Last I checked 1 hour = 60 minutes not 40-45. So I felt that was unnecessary. Then the lady takes a picture of my drivers license on her cell phone. What reputable place doesn't have a scanner of some sort for this process?? After finally getting checked in and given the keys we have to look all over the lot ( front and back) to find the truck. Finally on the road.. the truck drives ok but seems to have trouble shifting. After moving all day we return truck at our arranged time of 6pm (no more running late didn't want to hear that whole complaint process again!) I park the truck at the side of building under the awning as the sign says to do and wait. The sign said wait in truck for a uhaul person to help me get checked in. No one ever came to help check it in. So I take keys and go inside the building to try to check truck in that way. The guy at the desk says if I have parked in the return area I can just leave keys in the truck and they will get me checked in. Weird, but ok. I put keys in truck and wait a few minutes to see if anyone comes out. Finally after a few minutes someone comes out and starts to spray the inside of the truck. I assume at this point I am good to go. Fast forward 2 days later I have a missed call and voicemail talking about my plan for returning the truck!! At this point I am so done dealing with this place I am furious! I return the call and speak to yet another guy who says “ oh never mind we found the keys.” 臘‍♀️ Excuse me?? Your employee lost the keys after cleaning the truck and driving it somewhere to park ( also not actually checking it in apparently) and I am the one getting called about returning the truck 2 days later? At this point I just want to know what my charges are going to be and be done with this place! Currently still waiting for charges to post on my account. Never again will my family rent anything from UHaul. Lesson learned!

I have real concerns about some requirements and service at this location. The young man was great but I was very disappointed in others. Also reservation issues from a change uhaul made to change our location was a mess. Called and asked questions that were not answered accurately. Told my blankets were not available. He went and looked and they were there. 55 minutes to pic k up a reserved trailer. Scanned drivers licenses and used personal phones due to office ones not working. I asked if pictures saved to personal phones. They did. I'm concerned by that as a customer. I have no reason not to trust the young man but his boss should be taking care of this situation

This new deal of having to supply someone else's phone number and they ave to answer the phone to vouch for you, is a lousy way to fix whatever problem you have. Also your computer system is a mess and frequently operates at a crawl, slowing down customers.

I had made a reservation for earlier afternoon, and was turned away because my truck had been rented. They sent me to another location that ended up closing about 4 minutes after I got there. The system supposedly went down as soon as my husband and I arrived and then they had to close. They closed and about 5mins after that the system was back up again. We waited about 4 hours and tried the first location again. We were successful but it was unfortunate because it had begin to thunderstorm and we had to then move in the rain. It was nice earlier in the day 80 and sunny when we had PLANNED to move. We were prepared and everything but ended up stuck moving in a thunderstorm. I've rented from U-Haul many years it's been a family thing before much of my family passed away. Things have changed there significantly and it's beginning to show more poor service over the years. I think they should be better prepared and organized when it comes to the reservations. Also to better sweep out and clean the trucks before renting them out.

The girl who took our money at the counter (Kathleen or Kathryn was her name) was very rude. At one point, when I commented that were being asked more questions than 2 weeks prior, when we had rented the same trailer, she replied that it was company policy and if we didn't like it, we certainly did not have to rent it. Never once did she smile. Part of the time she was listening to the clerk at the computer next to her and correcting him while he was trying to help a customer. We will never rent from that store again. In fact we will check with Penske first.

Never rent from this location! Customer Service... absolutely none! After being a customer at that location for 7 years when we arrived this time to pick up our reserved trailer we were told they would not rent to us. After our recent move to a different state they would not accept our drivers license. Prior to this rental we had rent from them probably a dozen times this year alone. The girl helping us said that they did not trust we would return the open trailer at our designated drop off. They required us to get someone other than myself or husband to rent the trailer and then proceed to call people to verify our identity. We have never been treated like this anywhere we have been. We were treated like thieves and criminals when we have been a customer with no prior issues and always paying upfront and returning equipment on time. We will never recommend this location to anyone and never use uhaual again!!

1st- The truck was poorly cleaned. I went back to the rental desk to notify them that there was sticky material and grime in the cup holders and the back of the cargo compartment had dried/hardened/crusted sand or grit on it. I was told "uhaul doesn't care about that--you're fine". When I returned the truck I was informed that this is careless and lazy behavior and should have been cleaned. 2nd- The 26' truck I rented had known damage that was shoddily repaired. The front left headlight block dislodged from its housing on 3 sides and the headlight flapped up and down during our drive. This made the headlight almost useless during the night. I examined the headlight housing from under the wheel well and could see dried epoxy where someone had done a pathetic job of trying to "glue" the housing onto a new frame. There was also torn adhesive/tape material along the 3 edges where the headlight block was cracked and dislodged from the rest of the front of truck. Furthermore, the bulbs on both headlines were so abysmally dim that I had to use the brights the entire time as headlights. No other cars flashed me because the brights were still so dim. None of this was revealed to me prior to rental. They had done pathetic cosmetic repairs only. The problems only became apparent when we had to use the headlights during the night portion of our drive. This was dangerous, irresponsible, and lazy on uhaul's part.

They are trying to charge me 46 dollars for fuel even though I returned the vehicle with the literal exact amount of fuel as I received it. I'll never use Uhaul again. Absolutely abysmal company and full of cheats.

When I showed up to my scheduled pick up, the trailer I had selected was broken when we went to hook it up. The worker proceeded to go back inside to see if another trailer was available at the location. There was another trailer on the lot that was available. We proceeded to go hook up the other trailer just to find out that trailer was also broken. Overall it was a very poor experience and would not recommend this location to anyone. Of you cannot properly inspect your equipment after a return, you should not be doing business at all. I wasted over 2 hours of my day for something that should've been checked before I got there.

The service lady at the desk was RUDE and did a poor job of explaining the charges! She took no time to try to be courteous, polite, nor kind. She just said these are your charges and couldn't explain them. She dismissed med and said have a good day! I said I won't be back and thx Ms. not know it all!

Employee didn't want to check the truck back in with us present. He asked us to leave the keys in the truck and leave. We waited for several minutes while he helped others and would have continued to wait until he had time. When we asked for the truck to be checked in while present he was rude and said "we'll just charge your card". He did finally check the truck in while we were present but he wasn't happy about it and made it clear. I didn't mind waiting, and would have waited longer if he needed us to, but to expect us to just leave the truck and trust someone to check it in later was not correct. If something had happened in between us leaving and the time the truck was finally checked in I could have been held responsible for damage or a late return. Used this location before with no issues, however the employee working the morning was either having a bad day or is just a bad employee. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and assume he was just having a bad day. I was as nice to him as could be and hope his day turned around.

Very quick check in and check out. The check in girl was great and when I returned the truck, the manager Gary, was awesome, even though the parking lot was full of returning trucks. Check in about 10 minutes. Returning took all of 2 minutes. A wonderful experience.

Just a couple things. While the truck was on the line, facing the highway as described, it was on the other side of the building and not near the entrance as indicated. It was parked so tightly that I had trouble getting in the cab. And I had asked for a regular dolly and a furniture dolly but got neither. Still, the vehicle was clean and worked perfectly.

Rates are great. If I go in its fast and easy , bit since I dont like to b around people the ability to do it all from my phone was awesome. When I logged into the app and began the check in process, it was easy till I got a certain point then it wouldnt work anymore, it was mu phone I guess cause I did iy on my husband phone (which is newer) and it worked but because I tried on my phone over and over and over I ended up being late and it charged me a late fee.

I was called the day I rented the truck and told it was due in that morning and I was late. The after telling that person I had just picked it up they said ok it was due in by close the net day. The next day at 8 am . I was called and told my truck was late and I would be charged an extra day. What ever I have rented from uhaul many times it n the past. Like all good things I will find other opportunities. Thank you for your help in my life changing Evette you added unnecessary stress.

At pickup the location forgot to provide us with the dolly that we reserved. We were charged. Called in and was on hold for 40 minutes. Called corporate and received a cookie cutter answer . Truck was dirty. What appears to be bird poop on the steering wheel which was documented at pickup. Location was severely understaffed and lacked proficiency.

When we first got the unit, the information about the 24 hr access was not explained very well. We could not get in when we tried. We were there early to finish unloading the truck but could not get in. We were not charged for being late because of unloading the vehicle. We tried to enter the unit a second time after hours and still could not get in. When making the payment, the after hours was taken off and the first fee was refunded.

At one point I did have a problem where the computer system had messed up and had indicated I was no longer paying. That was fixed quickly and I wish I knew the name of the lady that fixed it for me. Other than that my time was it there was completely stress-free and I greatly appreciate it.

Information given seemed simple enough but key details were not conveyed. I was told to access the building through a certain door only to find out that door doesn't work how it's supposed to when trying to move in. Also it was never mentioned a circular lock was required until after I had put on my own and had to get someone to take the office lock off.

My furniture and beds got ruined in the unit and I was told that there is no place to put my items that were molded so I had to put them n my vehicle with mold all over them and dispose them which isn't fair because it was the storage unit that ruined them and I had to take them off instead of putting them in the dumpster at the facility. Also, some of the workers are NOT PEOPLE FRIENDLY AND SHOULD NOT BE WORKING AT A PUBLIC PLACE!

Staff was very rude. Called for a promotion with a full move one way, when we go to check in they told us that corporate does not know what they are talking about because they are not here and do not work the front desk.. They can not give us the promotion even with availability open. Then ended up charging us more because they did not know how to transfer the account to a smaller unit. I have been a uhaul customer for over 15 years and this was by far the worst experience I have had.

U-Haul of Evansville is an "Outstanding Storage Facility"! We have used that facility (3) different times in the last (5) years for my Mother's personal items. Somehow, my reservation was lost and when my friend, who was my contact, went to measure a piece in storage, there was a lock on the door. It wasn't my fault, as I didn't delete the account or close it. It was UHaul's fault. I will credit the desk person with being very helpful and forthright. She didn't charge me for last month. But, now I can't use my old contact, who is a trusted friend and who has a key to the place. I was told I had to use a new one. This is preposterous. There was no reason for me change that was given and this person I have as my contact I have known well for over 15 years. Please find a reason and explain to me why I can't use the person I trust the most in my life as my contact. Mind you, he is a site supervisor for a security company and has passed multiple background checks for his jobs, so to that end, I'm angry. You get three stars because the desk person (I don't remember her name) was excellent in her customer service.

Hours changed every day was over charged twice couldn't use my code to access my unit after 7pm and I paid extra for that as well as forces to buy 3 different locks throughout the whole experience my trailer didn't have the correct wiring so I had no lights on it which forces me to spend another 40$ on a special attachment was a horrible experience all around

Using uhaul is never a problem, same cannot be said about the staff. Equipment and van wise: the van was so much better than the truck and I will definitely be using it again. The storage was easy to get to and there was carts to help load it. I did not know I only made a reservation for the storage and the only problem I had was the lady (Jonnie) was really rude. Too much attitude and not enough caring. Other than that uhaul is the best at moving!

I was happy with my prior experiences and even tho it was 15 or 20 yrs ago I thought I'd see if you could do it again. In fact it was this same Uhaul store I used as well. Place still looks clean and well maintained and I don't have much but feel comfy using yall again cause some these storage places are run down or often robbed lack of security. Hope I'm right and thanks yall!

There was mouse poop and roaches in my things after moving it out. I complained once earlier this year and it was ignored. When I was moving out the staff left the office and stopped answering the phones. They left the lock on my unit after I was paid up for over a week. No one noted that I left the facility even though I did inform them and the company attempted to charge me again. You charge a lot of money for my things to be messed up. The manager told me I should have paid extra for coverage for something that they clearly knew was going to happen. If I had been told it was a guarantee I would have, I guess. Katie wasn't interested in "resolving my dispute" but we will contact a lawyer concerning U-Hauls "pest free facility"

Although the girl in the office was very efficient there was the need for another customer service employee. Was approx a 30 minute wait. The online checkin didn't work well. Also a female employee was to bring the truck around to us. After waiting an addl 25 minutes I walked back to find her sitting in a truck listening to the radio playing on her cell phone. I was not the only customer waiting. I preferred renting a truck in Jasper IN but was inconvenient to put the extra miles on it since the move was contained in Evansville IN. Pay for more help!!!! And the employee that did help me needs a raise. She was very knowledgeable and courteous while under stressful conditions!!!

I rented the storage unit and my parents rented the trailer to help me move. My experience was fine but my parents had one incident. After hooking up the trailer my parents, and not the employees, noticed one of the rear brake lights were out. They brought it to a female employee's attention and was told that "it didn't matter because it was daylight."

I use to love this uhaul an the staff but for the past two months I can truly say the staff is not all that friendly. I won storage lockers thru an auction an uhaul is the very first place in 7 years I've been buying units that doesnt allow u to access these lockers when the office is closed. I bought 4 from the riverside location an 4 from other storage places. When people have jobs an also buys these it truly causes issues not to mention the weather causing the locations to close earlier has truly caused some issues I had to extend my uhaul 3 extra days there then leaving me behind to move my other 4 lockers. An when I would call the local location was just rude an you all expect me to except you all making changes do to weather etc but it was a problem when I had to make changes. Not to mention I am wheel chair bound so I couldnt even clean out or assist with getting these lockers out because u all are not handicapped accessible. Even the ramp in the back has a few stairs leaving me to have to depend on someone to assist me or to pay others to help which is wat I have had to do. I've spent a lot of money with this location over he past 2 years an with the past 2 to 3 months I've learned that uhaul may not be the company for me to use for my small business because I've now spent over 450 dollars in less then a month truly crazy honestly an to have to deal with peoples rudeness an attitudes

Call the hotline and filed a formal complaint, hallways were exceptionally poor lighting. No lighting inside the units. Lights turned off while you're still working in the unit hallway lights worked. The men and the outside workers that worked with the trucks trailers we're very nice and helpful and exceptionally kind the office workers were the exact polar opposite very rude very ugly very demanding very slow. The manager was horrible. Doors were not open access was not available at their posted opening time access was closed and restricted 30 to 45 minutes before posted closing time. Hours of operation were not honored it was whatever was convenient for the employees. Very very overpriced for the service in the amount of space rented {period} would never rent from this location ever again may never consider renting U-Haul again.

Upon arrival unit still had stuff from prior renter. Talk to front desk they wanted me to take one on 1st floor at around $30 higher per month. I said you should give me that at same price. Would not so I removed the junk from room and placed in hall. While moving in they sent someone up to haul to dumpster. Almost missed my rental truck return time.

I resnted a unit only to find a lock on it. Because it was a personal lock they were unable to.remove it. They offered to give me a larger unit because the size unit I needed wasn't available. When we got to the larger unit, it had furniture, clothes and debris in it.i was told I would have to move out of the larger unit once a smaller unit became available. I wasn't willing to move my furniture twice. I cancelled my reservation!! I'm now looking elsewhere.

My personal experience wasn't that great. There was a whole thing where Everytime I came to town it seemed I couldn't access my belongings my swipey card didn't work after hours. I don't remember that being explained to me it said nothing about this in my contract I called an after hour number but couldn't get an answer.the online payment site was hard to use and charged me a late fee I never was able to get resolved. I rented on a holiday weekend when other facilities were closed so that was a convince others don't offer. The unit I had was very large at a very good rate. The staff at the office has always been more then helpful and very friendly.. I will always come here to get excite to impatience or anger; annoy trucks and accessories to haul but I would never recommend a storage here.

Had an absolutely terrible experience at Riverside Dr. location in Evansville, IN. Absolutely no customer service and no direction were given to me upon arrival of picking up the UHAUL truck and storage unit. Upon arriving we waited in line for 30 + minutes with only one other customer in front of us Of which 3 employees were standing around or sitting down behind the counter. The card machine was not working properly. That along with being basically ignored when we walked in the door and were the only ones standing in line was unacceptable. We were told after leaving with the truck that upon arriving with the truck we would then get further instructions and assistance with the storage unit I reserved. We arrived and once again were ignored by the blonde lady behind the counter. We received absolutely little to no instructions on how to gain access to the storage unit. We got to the storage unit and there was a lock on the door that was needing a key that no one told us about prior or offered assistance with and the store was closing in 10 minutes. I had to physically go down to the office and get assistance myself. The self check in process was terrible and I did not receive any account info or information on this process prior. I submitted it right at 8:00 PM the last possible time it was due before Being considered late. The unnecessary stress of the day did not help with my situation where I lost everything in a house fire 2 day's ago. I even expressed this to the manager behind the counter and he proceeded to down play my situation and make jokes about COVID-19. I will never be doing business there again and do not plan on keeping my storage unit more than just a few days before I will take my business elsewhere. I will not be paying anymore to this company and will refuse payment for next month storage unit rent and terminating my contract ASAP.

Rental fees are too expensive. Late fees are all so high. Majority of storage facilities in town let you make partial payments and gives you three months to claim or auction.secure facility is ogood h
