The website advertised 24 hour access moving from out of state and living temporarily in a hotel it worked best for me as i have used that feature for other out of state moves in the past usually for an additional small fee. when i arrived with a fully loaded u haul truck the front desk attendant stated that it was for "commercial guest only" businesses etc. I stated that that was clearly stated on the website or on the signage that was next to the desk. She stated that's just how it is. Having to catch a flight back i was put in a position of having no choice but to complete the move in. When i was moving out i asked for 24 hour access again because i am again completing this alone and when i called the gentleman i spoke to said that they stopped offering that service a while ago and extended the normal access hours. I advised him that i am requesting this as a last resort and he reiterated that the service is completely unavailable to everyone. I advised him of again the website and the posted signage in the facility and they stated that "we just didn't change it yet" and reiterated the hours are from 5am to 10pm implying that that should be more than enough time. I think its unfair for someone who does not know my life situation or responsibilities to decide that their hours should not be a problem for me. i work nights and have people to take care of during the day. i shouldn't have to explain that to someone to get the services as advertised when that was the reason i chose that storage facilityDAVON P. | Expérience générale

I was charged $58 for a cleaning fee for a truck that I didn't dirty and brought back the same way it was given all bc the man who works in the parking lot is ride and was confrontational with my friend that was with me so the next day when we dropped it off he was smiling and laughing now I know why he was. While this could have been a review that would have been more average, I had a great experience with U-Haul providing some incredible customer service. I had rented a truck from one U-Haul location and drove it to another U-Haul location across states. The location I brought the U-Haul too was a storage facility where I had rented a storage unit. The elevator at this location was broken and it required me to use the back stairs to go up 3 flights of stairs with all my livelihood into this storage unit. The staff there was extremely friendly and accommodating because of this and were able to compensate me graciously for this experience and their apology came from a place of true empathy for a customer. The staff at the 25 Jefferson Street location in Stamford, CT that were working yesterday deserve some recognition for this. At a time like this during the pandemic, it is acts like this that make a company, that make customer service, that make people's days and they remember these moments. Thank you UHaul, and please make sure to recognize the staff that day who helped me, they deserve it. I will continue to be a long term Uhaul customer because of acts like this and the payoff on the bottom line will be well worth it for the compensation that was provided out of the kindness of their hearts. When first renting the truck employees at the front desk were rude and couldn't care less to be there. When receiving the truck it was a bit beat up but in working conditions nonetheless. After returning the truck my experience became negative after the employee tried incorrectly charging me after not reviewing any previous information like mileage and gas amount, after being corrected his calculations ended up being off by $30.RUBENDARIO D.

This uhaul is not operated by honest people. Very dishonest and sneaky. They tried to charge me $30 for gasoline after I dropped the truck off when I filled the tank to where it needed to be. The truck has paint scratch on the left rear tire. I didn't see the scratch when I confirmed the conditions. I have to pay $150 when I returned the truck. But, it is obvious old scratch. Scratched paint is dirty. I feel like it's setting up treat customers like me!!!!!!!Bryan C.

There was only one person processing customers & there were at least 6 customers ahead of me. It took close to an hour from the time I walk-in to the time I drove out with my trailer. I find that unacceptably long in waiting and to process me through the rental agreement. Otherwise, the salesperson was very good being the only one there to do the work. With respect to the equipment, the fender on the driver side had a piece of the fender pulled out where it was a hazard I had to bang it back in so that I would not rip my pants a second time. You will notice this in the inspection photo that I took when I rented the trailer. Was the equipment clean and well maintained? to really answer this question which is two parts ==> Part 1. clean. Part 2. well maintained. Part 1. yes the equipment was clean. Part 2. was the equipment well maintained? well I did not break down & I did not have any major equipment failure, but there was a problem with the driver side fender that caused me to rip a pair of pants. So as not to repeat the accident I the customer hammered the protruding metal back into place with a sledgehammer and some vise grips into something that was not dangerous to me or future customers. Since it seemed to have been that way for a while. Aluminum was oxidized, meaning there was no shiny exposed metal.JOEL D.

Pick up and customer service when renting the equipment was excellent. HOWEVER returning the equip. was another story. This is the second time in 3 weeks that I have encountered this person. The first time i gave him the benefit of the doubt; maybe a bad day, or got up on the wrong side of the day. The second time, I could see that this was the standard greeting for a customer returning equip. Nasty attitude, did not acknowledge that I was even there. left me waiting on as line for over 10 minutes while I watched him clean and mop out trucks. Totally ridiculous. The last encounter with a rep from a business is the impression that remains, and this was less than stellar. Too bad, he should find a new job if this is not making him happy, or at the very least, a refresher course on customer service.CA R.
