Customer service was horrible, I made reservation from home got there and the lady pulled up an account from 13years ago which I have already discussed and settled the matter a year ago. I've rented from u-haul since because of prior agreements, u-haul got stuck in mud 13years ago, I also paid uhaul insurance during the leasing of vehicle. I had to be insulted, and humiliated and pay addition 100 $. The lady was also lazy, the gas meter was not the same as the mark on contract. That was unprofessional to handle the transaction with no remorse or consideration for customer, replay video camera the night I rented the truck. I walk back in the building please watch. About 90 minutes before scheduled pickup, I received a call that my order had been moved to another location, which was 30 minutes away. They showed a cargo van in stock. I get there, the young lady said she could not find the key. She sent me out there anyway hoping they were in the vehicle. THEY WERE NOT and I went back up to the office; she called the mgr and she said, "oh that vehicle is down for maintenance..!!" Not good because it should NOT have been in stock then. Pick-up location was changed from Garners Ferry to Forest Drive without any notification by text or email. So we had to backtrack to the new location. Forest Drive location printer was not working and contract had to be emailed to me. Tank was nearly empty (warning light came on after driving 10 miles), although latest reading on contract indicated 1/4 tank of gas present. Worst experience in dealing with Uhaul for over 20 years. Make sure website/app is accurate with equipment location. This was actually the third location I was sent to due to misinformation online. This pushed my day 1 hr behind schedule. My Uhaul experience in SC was a nightmare, and I do not say that lightly. I was on a very tight schedule and had scheduled my uhaul to be picked up at 10am at LifeStorage on Garner's Ferry Road. I called at 8am to schedule the vehicle inspection, as instructed on the website, and they told me to just show up at 10 and they'd do it there. When I arrived at 10, the man at the desk told me the Uhaul woman wasn't there and just gave me a phone number to call! I was rerouted to the Fort Jackson location, which was right in the middle of town instead of right across the street from my house, as the Garner's Ferry location was. I specifically choose Garner's Ferry to limit the amount of in-town driving because I was very nervous about driving the uhaul and towing my car. When I arrived at the Garner's Ferry location, there was absolutely no parking and a line of people waiting for the door to be opened. I finally received my equipment, an hour later than I had scheduled, and the woman working there informed me the person who helps explain the towing wasn't there so I would need to just watch a video! When I tried to load my honda civic, which was approved as compatible during online check in and visually inspected by the woman working at Uhaul, the towing trailer scratched the underside of my car and it get stuck. I was unable to tow my car and instead had to call Uhaul (and wait 20 min on hold) to switch the car listed for towing to my mother's car. All of these horrible inconveniences on Uhaul's part delayed my trip 2,5 hours, meaning I had to drive to my destination over very long and windy bridges in the dark! I cannot emphasize enough how terrible my experience was and how stressful dealing with Uhaul made my move.Alissa W.

No place to park my car at this location. We're told to park in another business parking lot even though this uhaul site did not have permission To do so. When trying to get in touch with the person I rented from, I was unable to do so. Always got sent to headquarters and was on hold for at least half hour trying to get a question answered. Poor customer service. A check engine light came on and we had to decide whether to check the truck back in or drive it back to the U-Haul center we rented from. These problems caused me much more time out of my moving day and cost me more as was paying movers to help me. Very disappointing and costly!Bess T.

When I reserved this truck I selected a pickup location that was only a mile from my apartment. When I received the the email with the actual pickup location it was this place that was 10 miles away. This is a multipurpose facility that is not suited for trailer pick up & drop off. The gates & pathways are too tight and create an obstruction to get into & out if this facility. Furthermore, the inflexibility of service to pick up & drop off at another closer facility makes this a real problem for your customer service. Finally, the management needs to improve the training of the servicing representative on customer relations as well as what's the most efficient and practical way for your operation as well as reducing the â€˜turnaround time' for the customer.James R.

Needed the larger truck, but it was according to the employee "not there" (it was next to the truck they assigned) the assigned truck ran fine when we picked it up but soon after i cpuld smell burning oil and it wouldn't do highway speed making it unsafe to have on the interstate. I called roadside who sent out service and determined the oil was seriously low and suspected a leak. He added oil and test drove it. Stated he would check for the leak, but did not look for any leaks. I took the truck back early as i didn't want to have my property in it and have it break down on the side of the road. On the trip back the burning oil smell was worse and the oil pressure kept dropping. Uhaul obviously doesnt care about preventative maintenance, and would rather inconvenience customers than prevent a breakdown. Also had to break the seal on the hand truck, not to use it.... but because it was in the way. I will not be returning to any uhaul facility nor will i be utilizing uhaul in the future.John E.

It would be nice if there were more moving carts available. Service and process was horrible all the way around. It started with Brandon at the Forest Drive location. Despite a phone call in advance of my pick up and a conversation at my pick up, my return date was never corrected. This resulted in multiple calls a day early harassing me about the truck. The dolly and pads I paid for were not provided until I asked for them. The app works I guess, but was a huge hassle to check out. After waiting in a line, I was asked to go get a picture of the gas gage and miles. Then I was told I had to check out via the app. Guess what! Another trip to the truck to get more pictures. No one was friendly at either location. Its clear that Uhaul is not a customer centric company. Really disappointing experience that made 2 long days of moving even longer.Michael J.

Need an additional person working there. I had to spend most of an hour or more on phone several times to get pick-up details and billing worked out. Got a different person each time I called. Then my brother had to wait and go back in twice because of not being able to get out of gate with towing dolly (not enough time to get in car and then gate closed, had to go back in to ask for gate again.) I have had many experiences with UHaul and this was by far the worst. Very very disorganized. The girl working was very unprofessional. I had to wait 15 minutes outside to help. She seemed clueless to what was going on. The online application was malfunctioning so the check in process was difficult to complete. The young lady didnt come outside to inspect the vehicle after I told her it was damaged. Luckily I called customer service to inform them of the damage or I could have been held liable for something I didnt do. Customer service told me to go back to the location where we discovered the young lady knew about the damage but forgot to tell the supervisor immediately. This of course caused extra mileage having to double back to the location. This was just an overall unpleasant experience. I wont be returning to this location.JANINE R.

In reserved my truck and dolly a week before my move. When I arrived I was told there were no dollys and the closest place that had one was 40 min away. I had movers coming and when they arrived I had no dolly for them so I had to go out and buy a 60$ dolly and pay them for an hour for free. I had this reserved days before hand. I'm very upset with that fact. If I had just walked in I would understand but what is the purpose of a reservation when the equipment is not reserved for you. I had to pay the movers and extra120$ plus the 60$ for a dolly. With taxes that's double the amount extra than I paid for the U-Haul itself just because of the horrible disorganization. I will be on every social media platform sharing this and spreading the word not to use U-Haul. This is unfair and against your own contract. I have a medical condition as well and all of the stress and extra work I had to do landed me in the hospital and I was just released this morning. I have already contacted my personal attorney and we will be pursuing action.Kiel F.
