The mobile pick up and drop off were both messed up and wouldn't work because it didn't recognize my phone's location. Also, please mark the key drop off slot more clearly. I walked around for a good bit of time before finding what looked like a mail slot. I assumed that must be the key drop off but there was nothing indicating it as such. There was a sign above the slot, but it did not mention anything about the slot being the key drop off.

Trailer looked clean and was except that the trailer floor had some type of oil on it. The oil was not obvious but it came off on clothing and on some of the items stored in the trailer.

When I arrived for pickup, there were 4 people in line and one person working behind the counter. This made for a very slow moving experience. Although I had done what was requested of me with respect to taking a photo of my drivers license and submitting it prior to the rental, the individual assisting me asked for my license and entered info from the license as part of the pre-rental actions. I’m not sure both steps were needed. Although I had help with the vehicle transport trailer I rented, the U-Haul worker failed to tighten the set screw on the trailer to the ball on my hitch. This resulted in an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS situation while loading the vehicle I a just purchased on to the trailer. The trailer jolted violently into the air and was stopped by the very short chains attached below the trailer. The weight of the vehicle on the trailer made it very difficult to reattach the trailer to the ball/hitch. When I returned th e trailer, the same U-Haul helper assisted me. When I told him this story he said he thought he had righted the hitch. Clearly he had not done that!!

This visit was very good. I noticed the trailer wheel covers were highly dented after I took possession. I took the insurance so I did not necessarily care. The rental records should probably note damage do the renter knows. Otherwise, everything was good and the staff was very helpful.

This recommendation is for the place that I ended up getting my truck from . I first made my reservation at a small, privately owned gas station on Patrick Street with an employee who I had a difficult time understanding due to the language barrier. He had the U-haul app on his phone, had trouble with the customer prior to me with the reservation, and asked me to input my VISA number IN HIS PHONE. I did not feel that was was secure so I immediately called the closest U-Haul full-service station. They had a truck available but it was much bigger and more expensive than I had wished. But here I was able to swipe my credit card into a much more secure machine. She said they use the app on the phone to take a picture of the drivers license but not to get credit card information. Please make sure that any U-Haul service provider has a credit card machine for security. I would like to speak with a representative from U-haul. I can be reached at 240-422-1893. The full U-Haul service station employees were outstanding and very helpful. I have rented from there before and that is probably where I probably only rent from now on.

While the employees were extremely friendly and helpful, there has got to be a better way to organize your fleet of trucks and trailers. It’s almost impossible to maneuver your own car to simply park and enter the store part much less the trucks themselves.

I would like a refund on my dolly rental because I rented a small one but they didn't have one so they gave me the appliance dolly instead. I was too heavy I couldn't even use it. The ford van I rented didn't have a mirror adjuster either

This was my first time renting from Uhaul. We rented a 5 x 8 trailer. I was asked if we could support a standard 2 inch ball. Our travel trailer hitch ball was apparently too large. So a $30 rental turned into a $70 rental because we had to "buy" the ball hitch and electrical converter. Then our first unit could not be closed. Then we could not get out of the lot because the driveway was blocked with cars of people seeking rentals - because there is no parking. When I returned it to "rental returns", I was routed to the back to drop it off myself. The rental was fine and I will have to return to rent again. If you are interested in customer service, you will take steps to improve. The staff was very helpful. These comments are related to business processes, not the people.

I booked at a different location and it was changed without my knowing. When I opened the app to pick up my truck it still had me proceeding to the original location. I understand that things run out or locations aren’t open or don’t have 24/7 truck pick up available, however, I should have been informed. Because of this I was late getting what I needed to get and had to pay more in mileage (which is fine however more advance notice would have been nice). I did get an email saying my reservation was changed but this was after I added the coverage and there was no indication my pick up location had changed. The location I picked up from however was great and quick BUT still, something on the reservation end needs to be improved.

Just a fair warning - don't even bother doing the mobile pick up thing. You'll have to end up going in to the front desk anyways to have them figure out your reservation and the whole process will take longer than if you had just gone inside in the first place. Otherwise, the employees are helpful and seem to know what they're doing. The equipment was clean and in good shape. Got the job done.

Absolutely nothing! There were plenty of supplies available, and it was very easy to work with staff to rent the truck and also return it at the end of my use. I also really like the option of having partner movers on the site that you can get all of your needs met in one place.
