I’ve rented numerous U-Haul‘s from this location. This was by far the worst U-Haul I’ve ever driven. It was unsafe. The passenger side door wouldn’t even shut the hallway. The steering was out of line and the truck was filthy. It made some kind of noise in the back while I was driving down the highway as well. Super dissatisfied I can’t even believe you all charged me.

Describe to people the after hours check-in convenience fee of $20 if they do not check a truck in via the web site. I tried the web site. There were errors = "Something went wrong on our end". I have the screen shot from my phone. Called the Customer Service number. They cannot check it in - they can only lead you through the web site check in process which oif course did not work previously. They noted it in the reservation record. The next day I followed up. UHaul stated I was charged this previously unknown convenience fee of $20. CS said they would have to get management approval and then wait 3-5 weeks for the refund to hit my credit card. OR, I could go back to the rental location to get a refund. That is a major inconvenience. So I am waiting and checking to make sure the credit is applied to the cc. Definitely inconvenienced.

The mobile pick-up was pretty much useless. Couldn't verify my ID through my phone and the truck they assigned me was blocked in anyway. So I had to go inside and talk to an agent. The staff inside were nice, but the technology was bad. The computer kept freezing and she kept having to redo the order. Overall bad technology but good customer service.

The computer systems were largely non-functional. It took over 30 minutes to rent a truck because the employees kept having to start over due to a glitch in the process. In the truck that I rented, needed square footage was taken up by a hand truck and furniture pads that I didn't need and if I tried to move them I would have been charged a rental fee. If I needed the hand truck and furniture pads I would have rented them. These items should be removed so that the space can be freed up for boxes or other items the renter needs to transport.

When I returned the truck I was told I had driven 89 miles!!! I drove less than 20! The attendant rechecked the odometer and told me again that it indicated I drove 89 miles. I traced my exact stops for him that day which were within Frederick city limits, all within 5 miles of each other. He was nice enough to honor that but still! How could that be so wrong? I think they should spot check what the computer says with what the odometer actually says.

Don't screw up the reservations. I was using the mobile app to check in and my reserved truck was handed off to someone else! It made me late for my movers and I still had to stand around and wait. Didn't get a vehicle until 45 minutes after my reserved time.

Customer rep notified me it would be no problem to change dropoff location and led me to believe there would be no extra charges if I wanted to switch. This was very incorrect information, and it added to the stress of my move. Management should better inform their customer service reps.
