This location used to run so efficiently. Pull into their drop off bay. Someone came almost instantly and unhooked the trailer and you're off. But now, the drop off bay is crammed full of rental trucks. I could barely find a place to sit and wait for the disconnect without blocking traffic coming in or out of the lot. Total chaos. Also, the trailer was full of blankets which I hadn't ordered and didn't need.KEVIN D.

When reserving the truck for 7am it said I could get the truck out of hours of when the business was open. When I showed up to begin the process of retrieving my truck it said I had to come at 9am when they opened because they did not offer this service. Contact by phone: I needed to contact this site ahead of rental day to ask a couple of questions. I was on hold for 15 mins and they never answered. I had to call a 1-800 number to update my rental and address the issue. Site parking: there is none. I had a one-day in town rental, so left my car at this site and returned after dark. The only parking available is not "on site". It's only on the adjoining street. First: hard to find a place to park (it's along a street with many apartments; lot's of no parking zones); Second: walking to car after dark was scary as the neighborhood was not very welcoming.CHARLES G.

Representative refused to touch my drivers license (even while wearing rubber gloves) and insisted I reach far through the cutout in plexiglass barrier to flip it over for her. When I stated she was being ridiculous she said I should leave if I didn't like it. She also never asked if I needed a hand truck or pads. After all the attitude I completely forgot about asking for them until well after I had left. I will go to another location next time I need a truck.MICHAEL M.

They played "Gotcha' with me. I rented a van for a tentative 6-hour use. I even bought their insurance for a premium of around 10 $. When I went to pick up the vehicle the lady at the front desk told me to just check the odometer reading and look at the tank. When I asked her if I should check anything else her answer was a â€˜no'. Unbeknownst to me they had sent a text message with a link that I was supposed to click and note the condition of the vehicle. I did not see it since I was preoccupied with moving the stuff. I had the vehicle for about 4,5 hours. All I did was park in an empty parking lot of the apartment for about 3 hours while we packed about 20 boxes and a small freezer. We then moved these boxes to another apartment and returned the vehicle. The total distance traveled was 10 miles and I filled in slightly over 3 gallons of gas! Upon returning the vehicle I asked the lady to inspect, and she said no need! The next day I got a receipt for 202 $. 54!! I was shocked. Since they could not charge my credit card they sent it straight to a credit card collecting agency. Then began my saga. I called the manager, and she was evasive and finally said she will try to do something to not charge me and call me back. No call back and when I tried to reach them, they stopped answering the phone. The next day I called from a different number and got to talk to the manager, and she said I am sorry I cannot do anything since you did not check the text message! I called the customer service and they transferred me to RepWest their insurer or something. RepWest lady at the front desk refused to entertain my call and sent me back to U-Haul customer service. The next customer service representative who got on the phone half-hour later just told me plain and simple that I should have checked my cell phone and taken all pictures. I ended up paying them with a new credit card number and will not be returning to U-Haul for any more business. If you decide to rent from U-Haul storage place on Gilbert Avenue, Cincinnati!! Make sure to read all the tex message they send and click on the check list link. DO NOT MOVE the VAN until you have taken all pictures (odometer, Gas tank, condition of the seats, and all of the inside of the van. Also, take the same pictures when you return the van. Be ready to pay more than you think you will have to (should) pay if you fail to do the check list.jairaj A.

I was charged 175 $when I signed to pay 100 $while in the store picking up truck. I returned the truck and got my 40 $refund from original payment. When I got home and checked my bank account I was charged 175 $not the 100 $. I call Uhaul support was placed on hold for 20 min then hung up on. Before opening pick-up was a disaster. A lot of that may be due to the website which was very difficult to navigate and had a lot of bugs. I input my driver's license at least 3 times and also tried to set up an account. The instructions for returning and where to park the truck and drop off the keys were only for generic sites. I placed an online order for a rental from approx. 10:15a-4p. When I arrived the associate told me that the system shouldn't have let me place the order and she will not rent me the trailer. After spending a few minutes explaining that I will be leaving with a trailer as I had a lot of items to move and could not wait due to the settlement of my house she said â€œok well you can't keep it till 4p. I need it back by 3pâ€. I said well I can make that happen then if that's the best you can do. Then she tells me â€œwell you'll need to have it back by 2pmâ€. So I asked â€œwhat happened to 3pm that you just told me?â€ She replied â€œif you want it you have it back no later than 2p, even at 2:01p I'll charge you doubleâ€. So rather than argue and waste more of my rental time that was cut short from the start I said ok I'll have it back by 2p. And again she said â€œseriously no later than 2pm or I'm gonna charge you doubleâ€. I said again, ok I can do that..can I please get the trailer. So she replied â€œjust go to the back and someone will be with youâ€. 1. Don't appreciate the attitude whatsoever 2. A online system issue is not my fault at all, and I also had to end up renting another Uhaul from another uhaul rental facility which was 108 $and ended up costing me more money in the long run. 3. When we reserved our truck, it wasn't available where we reserved it. We found out, after waiting on hold for 30 min., that our reservation was switched to where we reserved our storage unit. We were never informed, but the customer service representative on the phone insisted we were. I was looking at my messages; I was not. After taking care of the truck, the unit we reserved was not saved for us. The only reason we got a unit was because someone called to cancel their reservation while we were in line. The inside of the trailer was dirty, something on the floor and I was concerned it would get on my possessions so put down a mat first. The person that checked my out was short, snippy, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. The after hours check in did not go well at all. My issue is that I couldn't use the storage unit due to it being too small. I requested a refund, was told the GM was 99 % sure I could get one but she had to check with corporate and would give me a call back the next morning. I did not receive a call back so I went in to the store but the GM was not there (surprise) even though I was told she's be opening the store that day. I was told that storage was down nationwide so a staff wrote my name and phone number down and said she'd have the GM call me Monday morning to resolve my issue. I did not receive a call on Monday so I called the store and was on hold for 50 minutes. The representative that I spoke with entered an action claim and said someone would call me within 24-72 hours. I have not received a call but I did receive an emailed receipt showing that I was not charged for the storage unit, however I paid for it and I still have not received my refund or a call from any manager.Teesha C. | Expérience générale

Only a single suggestion/complaint - the alarm that sounds when someone opens a unit without having first signed in is painfully loud and likely could lead to permanent hearing loss. Since no one on the staff responds to these alarms, there would seem to be no reason to have them so loud. Elevator was broken on day of move out. According to staff, the elevator had broken the day before but the technicians had not been called out until that day to come fix it. I had told office staff I wS moving out of my unit April 2nd. They billed me on April 3rd for another month. The unit was filled with mice turds and had chewed through multiple boxes and damaged my property. The manager there was particularly obnoxious and made no effort to return my money. If the staff remains the same, I would be sure to anyone inquiring to NEVER store their belongings there. A month later and I'm still having to throw items out, including expensive wool coats for being chewn or finding mice turds on items and throwing them away. Worst U-haul facility that I have ever dealt with. The manager will never call you back and you better be prepared to fork out more money to them if you cannot move out before your month end. Other facilities said they had no problem if I moved out a few days after the end of month without charging me but not this one. So now not only do they get a little over 300 $from me but they just turn around a re-rent the the two units I had to someone else and collect double money. Don't bother to try to work it out with them because they will say that it is out of their hands which is not true.
