Had reservations for two consecutive days but customers had not returned vehicles in time so I had to wait until the third day to finally get the rental. First time this situation has occurred. Not much you can do if people are not punctual but it created a bit of a problem for me in coordinating the move.JOSEPHGEORGE P.
All employees were extremely courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience - perhaps the best I have had in renting a vehicle and I was in the military for 22 years. I have had a lot of moves, so that's really saying something!ROBERTTHOMAS E.
1. The staff at the Fredericksburg VA location were exceedingly kind, friendly, helpful and professional. I give each of them an A+! 2. The trailer I rented had a strong mold smell when I went in. I looked on the floor and then looked up to find the ceiling had black mold. I grabbed a bottle of Clorox spray and that quickly resolved the issue. I don't blame the Fredericksburg VA staff -- I think this could be a corporate problem and recommend that all Uhaul stores in humid areas check for mold on the ceilings of trailers. 3. I noticed at both the pick-up location in Virginia and the drop-off location in Idaho that the Uhaul website seemed slow and cumbersome for staff to use. I strongly encourage Uhaul corporate management to work with the IT team to improve the software.JEFFREYALAN S.

I rented a 10' Van which gets 12 mpg. I drove it 24 miles exactly and then I paid for 2,67 gallons of fuel before returning it. I was charged a 2 gallon surcharge. So Uhaul is trying to tell me that I used 4,67 gallons of fuel to drive 24 miles. The truck only gets 5 mpg? That's worse then a tractor trailer. False advertisement. The issue is the U-haul app. The damn thing doesn't work. I spent over 40 minutes trying to pick up my truck.MONTIE B.
The mobile rental process is cumbersome and really needs improvement. For example, after finding my vehicle in the back parking lot, completing numerous steps on the app, I still had to walk back to the main office for help and to get the keys, and then walk back to the vehicle. Lesson learned - don't use the app and simply visit the office for the fastest service.scott H.

When I rent a uhaul and bring it back..everytime lately at this location. The initial amount on hold isn't finalized. It's held and then the full amount of rental is then charged again to my card..why isn't the amount on hold finalized and the balance owed added to it...i had to pay 800 for a 400 rental.This overdrafts my account . And then I had to wait for my money back...this is the only solution offered to me at this location.ive been doing business with uhaul for years..never had to deal with this before..JAMESNAQUAAN J.
My daughter and boyfriend picked up the rented truck. They were there a little before 8:00 am since that was their pickup time and we rented it for 7 hours. It took them almost and hour to get the truck. My daughter said 3 people were working behind the counter, but one female who was suppose to be helping them was on her phone, texting and talking, the entire time. She was incredibly rude. But the time they got the truck the they actually subtracted an hour from the rental, so instead of it being a 7 hour rental it was 6. The timeclock was not reset due to their long delay. The customer representatives at this location need more training on how to treat customers that are on a timeline.Kelly H.

I completed the self service pickup, but the Appliance Dolly I ordered was not in the truck requiring me to find someone to get me the dolly. The truck was also mechanically not up to par with the U-Hauls I rented in the past - The brakes/ front end shook and I am glad I was only going 18 miles total with this truck.Kevin G.

I chose mobile check in and the site would not allow me to check in. I had to have an associate help me with check in. It would be desirable if mobile check in actually worked and worked well. Especially in todays world.Ashley H.
The customer service was superb. However, the cargo van that I rented smelled like someone had used the van to transported pigs or some type of farm animal. After I brought the foul smell to the attention of a U-Haul employee that was working outside, he sprayed the cargo area of the van with febreze, but that didn't kill the oder. When I got home with the van, I spraed 1/2 a can of Lysol disinfectant in the van, which helped, but that didn't get rid of the smell, completly. I have used U-Haul for 40+ years and I have never had a situation such as this happen.JUDITHRYN T.

The problem was your online check-in. It refused to recognize my onsite picture as the same person on my license, which meant I had to go inside to complete the rental. Once inside, everyone was very helpful, but I did hear about other problems with your site while waiting in line.Paula Faye F.

My unit leaked, so all of my "valued" items are totally destroyed, unusable, or non-salvageable. For example a complete set of Agatha Christie novels, hard padded volumes lost, as well as many other book collections. Much lost at a cost in excess of 230,00 $ per month seems to get a much less than favorable review. During the pandemic I would receive letters every few months informing me of an increase in prices. For people struggling this was not ideal. The staff rushed me through the process. The truck was damaged. The fuel rating was higher than the amount of gas in the tank. I had to find my truck on my own. No-one took me to show me my storage unit. I'm cancelling the storage unit. Doubtful if I'll ever use U-Haul again. I also had another storage unit reserved at international Pkwy which I was told was 8 ft high only to find out it was actually 6 feet high when I saw my reservation. This part of the UHaul experience was part of a move from DC to Fredericksburg. The rest of the experience was absolutely HORRIBLE. Our pickup location and time was moved 5 times in one day!!! Whoever does that scheduling should be fired!! I have used UHaul many times in the past as I am retired military. This was the worst experience ever!! The people in the Fredericksburg office were fantastic though and did set up the storage and walked me through the process very well.
