I reserved a utility dolly, 3 dozen furniture blankets, and a furniture dolly. I received a utility dolly, 1 dozen furniture blankets, and no furniture dolly. Instead I had to PAY for a new furniture dolly because they “weren't allowed to rent the new ones.” The term used when booking equipment is “reservation.” It's not a reservation if the equipment is not there when you are scheduled to pick it up. It's more like a wishlist. You might get what you need to be able to effectively move, but probably not.

The trailer we got was full of chunks of concrete and the lights of the trailer didn't work. The lot was very crowded and hard to maneuver around.

There are serious issues at the location in Garner. There is so much equipment being returned on a Monday that even at noon, the entire yard is full and returning a trailer is nearly impossible. There are not enough staff members for assistance. I had to drive over a curb and back the trailer into a very tight location which was difficult with the length of my truck. I also had to drive out a different way and over the curb again to leave, there was too much equipment parked at the entrance. This was at noon on a Monday, surely the staff could have moved a few trucks to give access to others by that time.

It's always a problem. The truck isn't where you need it. This time the truck was late and in poor condition. We prayed we got to our destination before the front end fell out from under it. There are never enough people at these pick up offices.

Never, ever give a reserved truck to someone else, as happened to us. We had to drive 30 miles out of our way two times to pick up a truck that had been reserved near us for days and with NO compensation for gas! No way to treat customers , especially on the day of a move!!

I have been trying to reach customer service for days and wait for 1 1/2 hours only to be disconnected and have to call back. I will now report to my bank that the charges I have on my account are fraudulent and have them reversed. From not getting the truck I reserved to fraudulent charges and still not moved...worst experience ever.

If I could give this location NO STARS for all of the questions in this survey I would! I don't usually take surveys but me experience was so bad at this location, my husband called corporate on the way home! Immediately upon arriving there was no parking and I had to circle the building several times! The line of trucks that needed to be checked in was up in to the main road! You couldn't even enter the location without having to finagle your way in through a barely accessible road in the back of the building. When I did have a place to park in the back of the building I was met with a very rude employee who spoke to me callous and snipped at me for not having the truck on the line, despite there being NO place to park it without it sticking out in traffic! I advised I would do the self check out and she rudely began to ignore any further questions I had at that moment. While performing the check out she walked by and I had a question about the fuel gauge and she continued to be rude to me in all of her answers! My husband finally got involved as he was waiting in the car FOR AN HOUR, and when he went to ask her a question (both of us were being very polite) she started to ignore him AND WALKED AWAY!!!! He spoke to another gentleman inside whom advised he had used this location several times before and they were “always like that” and “this was the worst one in town”. It was such an awful experience that I will probably never use U-Haul again! From start to finish (rescheduling my unit 40 miles away, my truck not having gas, and the terrible customer service I received at the Garner location, I will warn everyone I know that this company is NOT about giving its customers an easy experience- it is about hauling as many trucks on the road as it can!!!

The process was mostly painless and the staff were super helpful! I was trying to pick up my truck on mobile but noticed some of my requested supplies weren't in the back. When I went in, one of the guys (Justin I think?) was very quick to get that sorted, and also took over getting me checked and verified, and after seeing the very long trip I needed to make, was able to give me a small discount on my mile cost, which was super nice of him.

As busy as this place is, you "definitely "need more customer service reps. I also know that there is a shortage of workers but most mornings that I have been there you have to wait 45-55 minutes before being helped.

When I pulled of the lit the uhual stalled and broke down. I hopped back in my car following me to go back to the store, they went and picked up the car and argued with me that nothing was wrong with it. When it just stalled on me.. I was given that car back after waiting HOURS for someone to come look at it. It took so long that I LOST my movers that I PAID for & going to pick up the uhual the manager had an attitude telling me there was nothing wrong with the truck in the first place when I was trying to get someway for uhual to send me out movers since mine were now gone.

Lights weren't working properly on the trailer. Then when returning it a out of uniform employee who failed to acknowledge she was an employee was rude telling me to put the trailer back in a particular spot. Which was confusing because she was blowing from a truck and I didn't know she worked there. I informed her I couldn't back up good she was rude and said ok and just walked away. Didn't check the trailer in or nothing just walked away! Another employee came and checked me in.

I've used uhaul a dozen times Atleast at lots of different locations in NC. This location is by far the best. The staff was super helpful, knowledgeable and fast! I was approached by a staff member who was eager to help before I even made it in the door both when I picked up and dropped off the trailer.

This was an awful experience all around. The first problem was not necessarily the Garner location's fault but I'm annoyed that I got notified that the original place I booked did not have my truck so I had to drive almost 30 mins out of the way to go to garner. My problem first started that the garner location did not inform me about this until 7:20pm the day before my rental which was 20 mins AFTER they closed so I couldn't even talk to someone about this. I called U Haul including the National lines 4 times and spoke with 4 people who all tried connecting me to “scheduling” and no one ultimately answered after an hour on hold so I resigned myself ti just keeping this truck. Upon my arrival, the staff wasn't particularly friendly which I was going to do the online check out so I didn't think it mattered only to realize that once I checked in the truck, the moving pads were missing and once already closed. When I tried to call to get my money back, this was also another ordeal as all that location did was put me on hold though the man who finally answered was at least polite and helpful. Lastly, I'm annoyed that after all that I got charged 44 cents for going over 1 mile despite me having filled the truck with gas 1/4 a tank more than I needed to but didn't even get any kind of reimbursement for that yet I get charged for 1 mile….the reason I went with U haul was to save money but it's a reminder that for all the hassle Penske will be better even if more expensive because wasting time and headache isn't worth saving the money when I get sent 30 miles to go pick up a truck. Might as well pay Penske prices

The pickup experience was troubling, from having to drive 25 minutes to a different location to pick up the vehicle, felt so sorry for the agent working since she was by herself. Van worked fine but had not been cleaned. Didn't get the pads and the dolly I ordered and couldn't wait to get the refund since the agent working when I returned was so busy and I was exhausted. With all that said, I will rent again next time because I have a history with you.

I've used this location many times over the years and always considered it the best in the triangle, but my recent experience was poorly lacking-- first of all, my wait time for service for was 55 minutes, primarily because both clerks were busy helping auction purchasers. They were also out of dollies, though I had reserved one, but the clerk did allow me to use an appliance dolly for the reduced dolly price. I'll have to be careful about jumping to use this store again.

This used to be the best location in the triangle, but this was my second poor experience in a week-- blankets were out of stock, though I had reserved them; dollies were all gone; and the wait time for service for was 40 minutes. Oh, and the guy ahead of me: they didn't even have his truck!! Guess I should consider myself lucky?

It had zero fuel in it. The truck stalled 3 times on me and ran horribly. The oil and check engine lights were on and flashing. I returned it 20 hours early but noone seemed to care about the issues. Had to rent at this location because u haul cancelled an previous reservation I had for a26' truck 2 days prior at the location I requested.

Waited in line a half hour only to be told they did not have the truck I had reserved. Was never informed Uhaul changed my pick up location - which was a 50 mile round trip out of my way. Staff at the store were less than helpful with a poor attitude. Customer service was a foreign concept.

Except receipt because I put fuel in the vehicle and I was still charge because the needle didn't move just show what I put in the gas tank. I only drove to vehicle 30 miles and I put $10 worth of fuel in the gas tank and I was still charged an additional $20 because of the gas tank read it that's not fair to me

I arrived on time to return my truck, I spoke to the attendant and left. I received a bill that I returned it almost 30 minutes late. The attendant had a line of trucks to get to, I assume he clocked when he finished mine rather than when I actually arrived. I will be calling to dispute the almost $80 in late fees.

First I called to check the price on what a truck would cost me to rent, I'm moving from Benson NCto Tobaccoville(King) NC, I was told the total would be $168 plus tax. Sounded good to me so I make the reservation. Then after i made the reservation I am told the total after tax came to $191, was told additional cost was taxes.. but the taxes in $168 is not $23? Now we're already this far so we give a second chance. Next we get to the Garner location and we try checking in, and the desk staff left the new employee to check us in by them selves.. That went so bad that we had to go to the back of the store ourselves just to find an employee who could help us get checked in so we can get the truck. Now our new total is $223!!!!! What the heck is this?? Oh it's insurance. Well, now I'm here and I'm late, I have no choice at this point, I just have to bend over and bite down, this was nonconsensual, to say the least! Oh but we're not done. So we're taking the truck to the drop off location in King, NC and guess what? That's right! Another cost increase! For 3 miles!!!!!!!!!!! Now this charge was only $1,3 that's no big deal right? So again I bend over, and I let uhaul have its nonconsensual way with me. On my way home, feeling violated and in desperate need of a shower, I sat and thought to myself; the rep who made the reservation knew my home address, as well as my drop off address, to calculate those miles and they knew I had to drop the truck off afterwards and they have that address as well, We didn't make any additional stops and we got gas on the way, so where did the 3 miles come from? Better yet why did they seriously after all this feel they need to make me bend over.. AGAIN!?!? CLEARLY THAT IS THEIR MO HERE. This will be heard by my entire family, and every single one of my friends, acquaintances and my customers through word of mouth, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, google and yelp they will know how poorly they will be treated and how hard they will be screwed (and let's not forget how many times) if they ever decide to use uhaul again. It is not just horribly bad employees, it's bad corporate policies, shady marketing tactics and worthless customer retention and a down right bad sales model. I sincerely hope I'm the only one.

The staff has been friendly in the past, but I've had SO MANY small issues that seem like mountains to correct on the business's end. First I was assigned a unit that was already in use. That took 30-45 minutes to sort out and correct. I asked and was told more than 3 times that there would be a lock in the unit. (Both times I was assigned a unit.) When I finally accessed my correct and available unit, there was NO LOCK. Now I have been on hold for almost 20 minutes, waiting to confirm that a lock will be readily available for me today, 2 days after my reservation start date. To add insult to injury, I received this link to "Rate us please!" before I had been helped/while still on hold. The lady that finally answered was rude and unhelpful.

I AM NOT MOVING OUT - - Within 3 days of moving In in December '21, I have been continually receiving emails and phone calls asking if I'm still using the unit, and that continued for the first 2 weeks until I yelled and screamed...now 3 months later it has started again, saying "sorry to see you go" - - WHAT??? I am still using this unit and you are taking $$$ automatically from my CC Company. I can never get a straight answer from anyone as to why this keeps happening. I'm told that the person sending the emails "cannot be found" and no one at the Garner Facility EVER answers the phone. Even this comment, right next to it says that I am "moving out". Again, I am NOT moving out so please stop making me crazy. I have visited this unit weekly to add more items, and when I go this week to find my unit empty - - we will be going to court, as I have every month of paid receipts. Also - - clean up the Roach problem - please.

Unfortunately, I cannot recall the name of the young lady in the office who helped me with the move in (maybe Ariana???). She was EXTREMELY helpful and patient and made what was a very stressful and tiring day for me go as smooth as possible. She represented your facility and U-HAUL Co. extremely well! I am hopeful you can determine who this employee is specifically and again extend my thanks and appreciation for her help!

was assigned a storeroom on second floor of a rather large building. The room was in the opposite corner from the single entrance. Much too far away from entrance and single elevator that had to be shared with other tenants. Whose brilliant idea was it to put a 10 by 15 on the second floor hundreds of feet from elevator?!There were several people using the elevator. it would have taken us hours to unload, wait for elevator and get to unit and unload. The elevator cannot be locked out so we would have to load and unload one small cart at a time. Extremely poor design and planning on U hauls part. We abandoned the unit and went to a place with drive up access and had to pay. Free month was worthless.

Our storage unit had insulation hanging down from the ceiling and looked like crap. It would have been best if an inspection had been done prior to our move in to fix this issue

Door code didn't work. Others were complaining too. We wanted a drive up space but none available. We were given a second floor space much too far to move our stuff and this rather large building has only one elevator that would have to be shared or have to wait on it . No way to lock it out to load or unload. . Indoor storage gets an D- from us. We didn't use the free month and went to a place where they had drive up and gladly paid.

Shaquana (Front Desk) was very rude and unprofessional. She commented, "First of all... we have a million customers..." Her attitude was very unbecoming of the stellar U-Haul customer service I've become accustomed to, as a 15+ year patron. However , Jasmine (GM) was nicer, more professional, and accommodating.

I would recommend the storage facility but not the truck rental. I rented a truck 2 times once they didn't have the truck I reserved & the 2nd time they charged me for a 2 day rental & I only rented the truck for 1 still waiting for my refund 12 days later they said another 7 days for my refund. I would go out if my way not to rent a truck from here

Rented a covered outside storage spot,got confirmation notice, arrived to park my trailer and there was a non moveable car in my spot. All other spots were full, had to park along the drive with no cover.they told me they were going to have the car towed, never happened. Came and got my trailer 1 week early went in and told them I was picking it up and that I was done with my rental. Just recently received a letter stating that I was late on making my payment for the next month and if I did not pay,with a late fee, that it would be sent to collections! Called uhaul explained the situation and she told me it would be canceled and she would send me a email confirming the cancelation. Have not received a email as of yet! By the way I told them when I reserved the spot it was only for 1 month.

I have bought four units at this facility. I just checked out of two of them due to i was able to condense my items into the remaining two to save some money. When i was checking out i was informed and noticed a complete change in attitude and management was taking place so it looks like things are moving in the right direction. However, this wasnt the case when i moved in around October of 2021. I was told things were really bad by the new personal, due to management issues and i understand things can be hectic but i believe there is a common ground that all personnel should be expected to adhere too in the absence of a General Manager. What i witnessed and went through should not happen anywhere. Im a returning customer with U Haul and every place seems to be the same and i can count on how things are ran and up till this facility things have been spot on. At first i thought it might of been an associated storage using the uhaul name and having "their own way of doing things" but no this was a full blown Uhaul store. From reserving to actually paying for my unit ahead of time so i knew it was there for me as i was making a long distance move in a 26ft truck i needed everything to work in my favor and expected it after dealing with uhaul before. After driving long hours I walked in and they said my unit wasnt available. Which i thought was odd since they said they "put eyes on it" not only did we reserve the unit weeks ago we paided for it to be there to permanently lock the storage as we knew availability was limited.. after and hour of waiting and witnessing how lazy everyone was. They got it figured out. I also bought an outdoor storage that wasnt even available due to the "previous manager using it for personal things" and you guessed it... it was the only one of the size I needed available.. which is why we needed the extra two I just checked out of.. I also saw why i was on hold for so long when i called months before. They answer the call put it on hold and let it sit, going back to their cell phones... with nobody even in the store to assist.. Lazy and unprofessional at its best. The storage facility was poorly kept as well. We bought 24hr access to help ourselves.. The dock lights were off all night long, bathrooms not stocked with toilet paper,towels or even soap.. hot water at the sink was pure cold even after letting it run! Best part was they would lock the lock the sliding automatic door 30 minutes before closing, with a key lock stating "homeless people get in". Then when they would open the next day the slding door was still locked until about noon to 1 o'clock in the afternoon. So everyone who pulled up during the day would have to use the mandoor only! I witnessed nothing of the homeless sort as i worked through the night and rested their briefly and worked through the next day. Always kept to myself and was never in anyones way. If the security would be working as it should then even after hours, my 24 hr access should of gotten me into the building through either the man door or sliding door as ive experienced before. Not to mention the person who unlocked the door acted so rudely and bothered like we were "inconveniencing them". The whole facility was very shady to say the least. I hope the new management and new faces behind the workings get it back up to standards. This facility needs it and from what ive seen in the amount of Red access denied tags. They are sitting on a gold mine of late fees. Please reach out if more details are needed.

Shequeena and Ryan were super helpful even after I had to get a bigger room after I got started unloading. Had a minor incident with another customer who couldn't get in and was yelling at me to let him in. I did not said I couldn't and he started screaming at me. Ryan came to the building to straighten his code out and he was still yelling at me. I asked Ryan to stay until he went in and he graciously did. I was by myself and an older woman. He also explained to the yelling person that I did right not letting him in. They were just great.

I checked in online, got my rental unit with access code. The website said a lock would be in the unit when I arrived. When I arrived, the access code did not work, so I checked in at the front. When I got to my rental unit, there was a lock on the unit as it had already been rented by someone else. The staff was very helpful getting this fixed, but I was almost there after closing. What if no one was there? Move in would have been a disaster.

This was the most unprofessional customer service experience I have had in a while. I checked in online but still had to wait 25 minutes in the store. I also reserved a storage unit. I was given FOUR different units until I was finally given one that wasn't ALREADY occupied. How can you manage a storage facility but don't keep an accurate list of what's occupied and what's open? I made FOUR TRIPS from the storage area to the office because every unit I was given was occupied. The truck I rented transmission was slipping so bad I thought I was going to breakdown. The older white lady with the short hair , who I think was the Manger was more concerned with smoking cigarettes instead of assisting the ONE employee who was trying her best to accommodate a full lobby. This young lady was a new hire and was placed in the most horrible position. I usual go to the hwy 64 location on New Bern Ave. They are OUTSTANDING!! Professional, friendly and helpful. After my one month of free storage is up, I will NEVER come to this location EVER AGAIN.

Everything was great except for getting staff to make sure all access doors were available to customers during business hours. There have been entirely too many instances where staff failed to insure that all access doors were available for customers to use. The worst situation for me in particular was not having the main (sliding door) available for more than 3 and a half hours of storage use. VERY UNSATISFACORY!!! The staff had been notified at the very beginning of this ordeal. VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!

This place is the worst. lighting and cameras do not function. I had everything stolen right under their noses... and they just shrug their shoulders. It is impossible to communicate with them as all emails are no reply. They never answer the phone... on hold in cycle for hours (literally). And... if you show up on their doorstep there is NEVER anyone there who can access accounts or help in ANY WAY. HORRIFIC! stay away

So I was in site 3015. The dude to the left of me is a roofer and stores his trailers there. Several times I found roofing nails on the ground around my trailer. Not purposely placed. Just debris from his jobs I am sure, but it remains a problem for someone pulling a trailer. I spoke with your team on a couple occasions, although receptive, I really don't think anyone followed up with him or looked into the issue. Nails are being spread all throughout the storage lot driveway.

Parking access needs to be improved. Unloading is cumbersome the further you are from the handicap as one has go all the way around to the ubox area to get in the building

I moved out within minutes of signing contract to secure a larger unit. All was well. Teans was professional and very personable. Tray was the other associate and listening to him assisting other customers, well, they make UHaul proud. Respectfully, Kathleen Savenelli New Unit #604 Should have N/A as an option!! I never opened the unit to which the close out refers. Oops, maybe you need to revisit your questionnaire. All is good, just helping out.

I had reserved a guaranteed truck at the garner location which is also where I have my storage unit. I reserved it doe 24 hours. When I got to the facility to pick up my truck I was told that there was no truck available and they would have to call and find me one. I was told that there was a truck at another location. Maybe I am a little stupid but good customer service to me would be for someone to drive that truck to the garnet location to where I was waiting but no I was told I had to drive 9 miles in my persons vehicle to go pick up the truck (it was actually 11,7 miles). I also asked the employee at the garner location why there where no disc locks on the 2 doors that I had on my storage building and he said I had to bring my own locks and looks. When I told him I booked online and hey were supposed to be included for free he provided me with 2 locks. I love 2,8 miles from the garner location which is why I booked there. I wasted almost one hour of my time driving to Raleigh to get this truck which means I will waste another hour driving back to Raleigh to get my car on Saturday. I asked the lady at the Raleigh location about the miles and time I had wasted and she gave me the weekly mileage rate instead of the weekend rate. I find this unacceptable. I feel like I should have 23,4 free mikes to put on the truck because that is the distance that I am forced to drive getting the truck that I did not plan on. I would also feel like I should be reimbursed fir a gallon on gas that I am having to put in my car to drive there and back that was not part of my booking. I also feel I should be reimbursed a few gallons of gas that I am gonna have to put in the uhaul truck that was not my plan. I also feel I should be reimbursed somehow for the 2 hours on my wasted time. I am moving into a different house in 2 weeks and will need to use another truck for the move. I am very nervous about trying to use this I haul again. Moving is stressful enough and my experience with you guys has only made it worse.

I rented a truck to when moving in, but was never credited the free month for doing so. For the first few months, the code I was given never worked. I know I was doing it correctly, because the "temporary" code I was given the first day worked for the first couple of months. After that, I was fortunate enough to get there when someone else was entering. The next time I tried and no one was there, the office staff finally gave me an access card that worked.
