Add another employee, Glenwood is a huge facility and footprint. To go from behind the counter, grab a trailer jack, then meet at athe trailers is a lot of ground to cover. Your staff do it without complaining but there has to be a more efficient way. With winter coming, your just asking for slips, trips and falls. Stage some of each trailer inside, you have the room, make it easier for the employee.Mark B.

My review would be excellent, but Until I was charged $20 extra on my Discover card the next day. I returned the trailer within three hours of picking it up at 12:45 p.m. Went thru a horrible storm to get it back at 3:00 p.m. because I had to be at work at four. I called the next morning and the man told me he would credit me. That was 8/29/22 and I still haven't received to $20 credit.Margaret T.

I rented a truck from your Glenwood , IL facility and was told I had a flat rate of $132.00, which I paid via credit card. Upon return I was charged an additional $40 for a late return (3 hours), plus another $113 for mileage. I take issue with the mileage charge because this was not explained to me upon rental. I was told that the $132 I paid was a "flat rate". To my understanding, this means I pay $132 and the late fee of $40, I get that. However, I am being billed for an additional $113 for mileage which was not explained to me when I picked up the truck. Does not seem fair. Your customer service needs some help.james O.

In the check in process, you go out to the truck and then go back in to get the keys. Also, I returned the truck with the same amount of gas as when I took it - took a picture of when I left the lot. Was charged for gas; disputed it on my after hours return and no one has contacted me.Michelle K.

The owner at this location is not friendly or HELPFUL! My experience with the owner was not pleasant. She seems non-caring and has an attitude that make you feel uncomfortable to do business. I would not recommend this location unless you absolutely need the equipment. I would advise another customer to have a positive attitude when visiting. Also, I appreciate uhaul for allowing me to keep the equipment longer than I scheduled due to car problems.Kendal P.

Overall, this rental went very smoothly. But while reserving the truck using the U-Haul website I also reserved moving pads and a furniture dolly. At the time of the rental I was told that the store had no dollies and that I could only have half the number of pads that I had requested. The staff was very thorough and competent. It took me awhile to figure out the towing/hauling feature of the truck transmission -- there was an informational post in the truck cab (which I eventually read) but it might be helpful to alert renters to this feature since the truck defaults to the towing setting on startup.L. The general manager took care of my trailer pickup expeditiously and flawlessly. She hooked up the trailer and tested its link to my vehicle's lights, and gave me tips on how to drive while towing a trailer.duel R.

Customer service was awful. The employees was more confused than me. Couldn't answer basic rental questions. Moving is stressful enough the last thing you need is an establishment full of confused employees. Took forever just to pick up a truck that was reserved. I first reserved a van for mobile pick up at 7pm , got there at 6:50pm but the store was closed and all the lights were off inside. They even offer 8pm option pick up at their location but they close at 7pm and no one ever answers the phone only call center. Needless to say I am done with this location for a while. I was told there was a veterans discount at the location of my storage; however, this location did not have my truck size. I was told that it would be noted on my contract. I pulled and follow the large signs with green arrows on them that say equipment return pulled under the tent that has another LARGE. Sign that says STOP equipment return here sat for a few min to have a young lady come out to my passenger side window and proceeds to say â€œyou can't drop that shit here you gotta take that shit back to where you got itâ€ and was taken back for a min because I thought she was talking to someone else so I asked her what did you say and she repeated the above phrase again. I informed her that I wasn't from here and where would she like me to take it. It being the uhaul trailer that I rented in AZ she again informed that I can't drop that shit here and to carry that shit over to the other side of the parking lot. At this point I had at it and right when I decide that I was going drop that trailer right at the entrance to the building nice gentleman on a forklift pulled up because he saw the whole thing and started apologizing for her behavior lucky for her. He came and showed where I could unhook the trailer and ensured me I didn't have to do anything else he would check it in and email me the confirmation. Though he saved the young â€œladyâ€ from the verbal assault she was getting ready to receive I work hard for my money will not be using Uhaul again. I have the same trip planned for the end of the month and will be going to Penske for truck and equipment rental.Mikel W.

The representative was extremely rude. She made me call my mother to verify my identity even though I had a valid license and several major credit cards. When I return the truck she accused me of having an accident which was false. The damage on the truck was there prior to my rental. She never inspected the truck before giving me the keys. She's not professional at all. I'll never rent from this location againEric W.
I really enjoyed my time at the storage unit. It was always convenient and clean. The only downside was sometimes the electric doors didn't work. But that was rare. Was told over the phone if I was out no later than the due date I wouldn't get charged for my unit. So I planned my move around that information, turns out that day I was charged. I explained to the manager there about the scenario and they said they can't do anything. Called customer service and was on the phone for 90 minutes between two transfers and the regional manager who never answered after 30 minutes. If I was told the proper date that's when I would have planned my move instead of paying for an empty space. I'm a loyal customer of U-Haul for many years, I didn't expect this.Everett S.

Iï¸ was using the mobile feature to rent a truck. The instructions were confusing, it said to go to the left of the entrance & that's where Iï¸ would find the key. There were key boxes there but Iï¸ didn't have a code. Iï¸ went in to get help from customer service, where they claimed they didn't know the process for renting from my phone. One man looked up my information but still couldn't help. Iï¸ proceeded to go back outside & instead of following the initial direction of standing by the entrance, Iï¸ located the car & was able to go back in & get the key. Some staff were helpful and friendly. What I do disagree with is the refund policy in place , whereas if one of your clients decides to terminate 8 days into the month they will not be refunded for the remaining 22 days allowing uhaul to double dip on storage fees. They removed my original locked and replaced it with one I had no access too. They had me in the system under a incorrect name Janet Barnes. They couldn't find my storage info or items until FEBRUARY and told me that month month along with the first 2 months would be free since they couldn't find it December or January! I moved in DECEMBER 3rd!!!! Come to find out they charged me for February even added a late fee. I called and spoke with someone and he advised my card had to be set up on auto pay to remove late fee. Go figure. So it's a sign that says one month storage free with trailer rental... so I'm like OK.. but then the clerk explains... it's free one way.. like if I go out of state and bring my stuff using one way then I'm able to get storage.. heck... I'm already here so that is terrible advertising... I should get one month for telling y'all to fix this misleading posting. Maybe that can be online.. but you get my point of hope. In addition, as I was legally parked in the disabled parking area... the clerk asked me to move my vehicle so he can back up a truck. Many uhaul vehicles were parked obstructing the disabled parking and when I told the clerk that was illegal and not proper... he told me that theb u haul vehicles that are parked in the disabled parking was OK. The website was not easy to access to pay my account in October 2021 on a Sunday after hours. November I paid for November, December they did not apply my payments correctly. The corporate office tried to call them on December 10 they failed to answer on a few attempts. This is unprofessional and these fees are excessive. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I had a schedule pick up for 2 o'clock for a moving truck. I also wanted to establish a lease for a storage unit. What should have been a simple transaction was delayed by unprofessional and at times, in competent staff. When I first arrived, there were two patrons in front of me. When it was my turn, the 3 associates were talking and joking among themselves loudly. I had to redirect the gentleman who was cashing me out several times. They continued to be okay around and continue to use vulgar language. When the associate finally completed my order, I was shown to my unit. The associate instructed me to use the key card to access my unit. When I swiped my card, the associates name appeared on the screen. I informed the associate and he said he would fix it. We go back to the front desk and associate says he is working on it. He hands me the key card and we try again; access still denied and the associates name was still showing. At this point it is after 3 o'clock. My son was growing anxious so I left to get him something to eat. When I came back associates states issue was resolved. When I attempted to access key pad, a name "Sherise" appeared. I informed the associate that was not my name. At this point I was really upset and needed to leave to start moving. This whole experience delayed my move and was an extreme inconvenience! Lastly I never received a contract for my storage unit. I also was never informed of the hours and made a blank trip because I was denied access to my unit. Overall, one of the worst experiences ever!!!SELECE D. | Premières impressions

Just a couple of concerns it's really difficult to lock your storage unit at a certain time at night That is knowing how to set the alarm correctly, unfortunately when we came back to unload our storage unit after 10 PM at night and we were locked out . The whole process is very confusing. And also another concern this doesn't have anything to do with the storage but the lady that I spoke with on customer service just told us we needed one storage unit and that would've not been enough room for us but thankfully the staff had an extra one on hand that we could rent. I probably won't do business with U-Haul overall because our moving experience was very stressful and the customer service was not too good there was a couple of representatives that were very unkind that I spoke to on the phone I'm definitely going to do business with another moving company. I will say the local staff at the storage unit they were very kind and helpful.Michael C. | Expérience générale
