I was told some one would be there to greet us, show us to our unit, and give us a discus lock. We went up ourselves, totally clueless as what to do. It wasn't too hard to get my items to the second floor or find my unit. How ever when we opened my unit, the alarms went off. We searched for an hour for an office or someone to help us. I had to call the out of state helpline. The customer service representative was unable to reach the manager of the site, and she assured me I could leave my items without a lock and nothing bad would happen. The manager is leading his team and taking care of the facilities extremely well. Every team member is polite, courteous, and strives to help. We have always loved UHaul and use them exclusively. But, no location has been as friendly and helpful as this location. Hats off to the manager and this team!Jason V.
I don't prefer to rent a storage unit, but I am happy with Uhaul Storage. I like that the units are indoors, they have carts that make it easy to transfer your belongings. We are very dissatisfied with our experience with U-Haul and will never recommend it to another person. We have used Budget rental in the past and never had any issues; however, we thought U-Haul had better made trucks and that was a mistake. The Clearfield staff called to ask us to be put in another size and I declined because it was smaller than we rented and we had nothing but mechanical issues from the beginning which should of been disclosed, how unprofessional and unsafe since the truck was very unsafe. The trip ended returning the truck with having to call roadside assistance because the brakes had issues and was downshifting on the freeway and the operator said just drive it and I said how unsafe is it driving down the freeway and the truck starts downshifting to lower gears automatically and jerks you forward and the speedometer is moving back and forth. along with the other issues it was having. We ended our return with the Kingman location and the manager delayed and had to be asked twice to come to the front counter to discuss the issues. Also, we were told by the manager that we would receive an email that the truck was returned to the location by the tow truck and our rental was complete and we still haven't received that. When we asked the manager about some money being deducted for the unsafe truck, etc she said she cannot help us and we had to call another location. Again, we are very dissatisfied with every aspect of this experience and will make sure to tell everyone we know to use Budget rental.Raymond D.

Made a online reservation for a first level 10x15x10 a week or so before check in. It was not till I went to check in that I found out that they did not have any on the first or second floor. The only one available was on the third or I had to take a 10x5x10 and 10x10x10 on the second. This was also meet with the additional cost, because the second and third floor were climate controlled. So not only did I find out that my reservation was not honored but it was going to cost more. The staff was friendly enough, but offered no real solution than the second or third floor at the higher cost. This is why I would rate poorly and would not recommend. Suprise costs and not honoring reservation are not positive signs or good customer practices. I did get a free month, but that was because of a promotion since a had a previous confirmation code from a different uhaul and it was done online.Nicholas B. | First Impressions

Your mobile check-in process needs a lot of work. When you ask whether I would prefer to pick up the truck in the store or online, you never mention that I will need to ask someone to pick up the phone at a specific time. When my wife didn't answer the phone, my reservation couldn't be completed. Then, I wasn't able to enter her phone number as my alternate contact a second time, even though I could have called and asked her to pick up the next time UHaul called. There were no instructions about this process, and I had very little control over my check-out. Fortunately, the store was open and I could just go in, but what if I was trying to pick up a truck in the middle of the night? I would have had no way of getting the help I needed. The entire mobile check-in and check-out process was ambiguous and unguided. I will say it was easy to submit the photos you require, but that was the only part that seemed to work smoothly. Better customer onboarding, and better expectation-setting ahead of the pick-up time. I am a UX researcher and strategist, and happy to chat more about some best practices you could implement right away.Brian H.

The uhaul was unsafe! It drove hard to the left. The brake light was on and the brakes weren't good. It was terrifying and I couldn't do with it what I wanted to, but still got charged the full amount. I tried to call and report half way through and got put through to roadside assistance- which is what I didn't need. When I took it back I don't think they took me seriously, and I'm worried it's still on the road.EMILEE M.

My 4 years with U-haul has always been a good or exhalent experience, even through the toughest times. Like the covid-19, clearfield location has adjusted it placements of the interior so that customers can still maintain 6ft status. Employees wore masks everywhere. I even saw there mandatory routine of disinfecting vehicles and storefront. I will say to any one anywhere. If you need simple as moving supplies boxes clearfield, dollies, to hitches clearfield, propane clearfield, all the way to trailers, trucks, box trucks ranging from 10ft to 26ft clearfield. Also open to closed trailers clearfield. And now there new gigantic storage three level ready security access 24/7 facility at least I believe there largest one in utah weathered controlled to put your trusted belongings CLEARFIELD!!!! David Woosely (Manager) and his team can service you in all those needs, and if they can't which mostly likely 99 % they can, they will help you find a resolution to the problem. To be clear, the facility and personnel were excellent! However, the U-Haul system was down all day and they could not give me my free 30 day storage rental that I was promised. It's difficult to turn in a truck if it's still loaded! I was lucky to find a local storage facility that was open on Sunday, but had to pay 125 $for the month. Why is there no backup procedure to rent me a storage unit? Fail! Someone listen to me! It's obvious that U-Haul needs to spend some time and money updating their website/system. I will be going somewhere else next time I need a rental vehicle or storage.John B.

You may want to inspect your trucks. When I started the truck it blew a bunch of smoke. Once I started moving and tried to apply the brakes the pedal almost went to the floor before it began to brake the truck. I was told the tank was full but it was slightly under full. My biggest issue of concern though was the wasted time. I choose to pick the vehicle up before business hours. Was told I could, selected the option when I reserved my vehicle. All notifications all the way up until I got there at 7:30 am to pick up the truck said I was good to go. The truck was waiting and all I needed to do was go through U-Haul.com or the app. Upon arrival I clicked start pick up process. It loaded the next page and when I clicked pickup, it began loading then said â€œyour reservation was been changed to hand deliveryâ€. Not only did this waste an 1:30 and a half of my time(since they didn't open until 9 am). It wasted an hour and a half of time of my movers as well! This cost me a lot of money and I basically got zero compensation for your company, app, and services failing me. The guy at the store clearly didn't care and had no explanation why it would do that either. On top of the fact that we were there waiting for the doors to open. He opened the door ignored us walked off. Then went in the back then came out and was like â€œdo you need something?â€ This location in my opinion has some serious safety concerns for the customer renting from you. You lack customer service extremely! With a huge issue with a failure of services on your part. The app failed the website failed, the store didn't care or was concerned. Plus you didn't nothing about it, the guy didn't even apologize after I let him know. That he wasted an hour thirty of my time and an hour thirty of my movers time. Which cost me money!Alexander K.

The location was fine. The company itself is VERY TERRIBLE at accommodating. I was told I would be able to get BOTH truck and vehicle transport at the same location for pick-up. 2 days prior to scheduled pick up, I was called and told that I have to travel 40 miles to pick up the transport and if I didn't like it "my reservation would be canceled and given to someone else, because there are a lot of people waiting for these things." After spending 1 200 $dollars, this is the treatment I received! Absolutely horrific customer service! I recommend NO ONE EVER use UHAUL due to their lack of concern and integrity.Jacob B.

I never moved in and sent a move out request on 12/23. No one ever reached out to me or confirmed that my request was fulfilled and I started getting emails acting like I was moving in. The manager didn't even check to see if my unit was actually empty. He just claimed that my move out request couldn't be processed because my lock was still on the door. My lock that is sitting in my car is somehow simultaneously on the door of the unit. The only reason I gave two stars and not one is because when I called in the employee didn't argue with me and cancelled my rental like I wanted. Happy with her. Overall, the storage experience was good. The distance to the unit was problematic to me, however, it was this facility that had available the size of storage space that I needed. The greatest disappointment was trying to communicate with the Office at the facility; it appears that the phone calls are transferred to the Regional Office when 5PM comes, even though the local office is open until 6 or 7 PM. In my experience, whenever the calls are transferred to the Regional Office, I can expect to be on hold for 15-20 minutes, and I confess that lately I have not waited the full 15-20 minutes to talk with the Regional people. This storage unit was exactly what I needed for a military move. I was able to get the first month at no charge which allowed me to offload my trailer and find a house. The facility itself is brand new and the paint still smells fresh. The storage units were clean and functional. I liked that they were well lit and accessible 24/7/365. The facility key card/entry system was nice and the alarms on each unit were reassuring. I ended up setting the alarm off once or twice on accident.
