I've been in over a month of communications with the U-Haul of Interbay store, customer service, and collections. Management took responsibility for the issue they caused with my rental invoice but it's yet to be resolved. This experience has been extremely disappointing, drawn out, and never should have happened. I can't say if it's this store in particular or a reflection on U-Haul as an organization. I won't use this location again, though.

Upgrade efficiency. Average time was 20 minutes in line to turn a truck in or check one out or make reservation.. Agent treatment at the desk I would say was "abrupt" rather than "rude". Charged for dollies I did not have. (Not sure whether taken off my credit card or not.) People new heights of trucks but not their widths and a tape measure could not be found. Convenient to Queen Ann. This was it.

This was a frustrating experience. I tried to reserve a truck using your online reservation system. Twice it booted me out at the very end when I was adding my credit card and contact information. The online system showed that a truck was available at 11 a.m. so I bused directly to the Interbay location after I could not finalize a reservation online. There I was informed that a truck was not longer available, but they did have a 10' truck available at 1 p.m. While reviewing this contract I discovered that both the "Safemove" charge and the mileage rate were higher that quoted on the online system. Total extra charges were $.30/mile x 23 miles + $4 extra for "Safemove" + applicable WA sales tax. Best guess is I paid $10 more than I expected from my original online reservation system. P.S. What is the $1.00 Environmental Fee?

I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical after reading the online reviews, AND I was delighted that none of those concerns were true in my experience yesterday. The reservation was quick, easy, cordial, the rental itself took less than 10 minutes, I might have waited 5 minutes for the renter ahead of me, there were 2 attendants, plus someone bringing the vehicles, the vehicle was clean, new, and full of gas, the return was simple, put in gas, return to the lot, drop the keys in the secure box, and the receipt arrived at 7:30 this morning just as quoted. I could not be more pleased.

I will never go to this U-Haul location again. Literally everything that could have gone wrong here went wrong. They forced me to return a reservation I had already confirmed to drop of at a different location online back at the same location upon pick up. My drop off confirmation was confirmed online which is why I reserved at a far away location in the first place. This added significant mileage and cost. Staff was slow, lazy, underprepared, and rude. Waited for 1 hour to get the truck. They told me fuel cost would be between $10-15 given my mileage, then charged me $9 in fuel sales and $30 dollars in a fuel fee. Attendant got a fork lift stuck in front of our truck and couldn’t find the keys. Absolutely the worst truck experience I’ve ever had. Doubled the cost of renting by poor organization and lying employees.

The parking situation is ridiculous. There is literally nowhere to park your car near the facility--all of the on-street parking is restricted. U-haul needs to lease spaces for customers in the parking lot next to the facility.

Sunday ay 1 PM the lineup at the counter was 10 groups deep, There was only one person working and it took 45 minutes to pick up a truck that I had already pre-registered for. Make this process less painful and you'll be doing a lot to improve.

I am never using U-Haul again if possible. I rent a trailer from U-Haul 1-4 times per month but I will be buying my own trailer, even though it's not worth the cost financially - just to avoid the constant hassles of U-Haul. I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and have the confirmation email but when I showed up they did not have my trailer and the manager tried to tell me some bull about the fine print saying they might not have what I reserved. Then I showed him my confirmation email with no such fine print and he changed his tune. It took them around an hour to get it sorted out but he finally gave me a 6x12 trailer instead of the 5x8 I had reserved because that's all he had. He even charged me for the 6x12 though too instead of charging me for what I reserved. Ridiculous. Then the trailer was parked so poorly up against a truck that when I tried to drive out with it it got lodged into the truck and damaged. Needless to say I ended up quite late to my event and incredibly stressed. U-Haul you need to hire some more competent staff and completely overhaul you're antiquated system so that reservations are actually kept and customers don't have to wait at your offices for an hour while employees take photos of their IDs (which I had already uploaded in advance, as if that saved any time) repeatedly! What a joke your "service" is.

Excellent service for an ambitious move on a holiday! Was assisted immediately to my rental vehicle without waiting in any line. Return process was a breeze. Employees friendly and knowledgeable. On-site parking a bonus. That said, I did not appreciate being notified the night before that no vehicle would be available at the location I booked at (S Lake Union) at least a month in advance. While not a problem for me to go to the interbay location, this is not acceptable. I did receive the $50 refund for the reservation guarantee however.

My experience with the associate and even the owner were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. I believe it was Patricia and don’t recall the owners name but I did read owner on the name tag. I am however upset that I was told the gas was full and when I got in, it was slightly under 3/4 tank. I went back in, told them and they adjusted the contract. When I returned, 8 miles later, the tank was at the same level and they recorded it at much lower than what I was reading. I was charged about $8 for Gas that was unneeded. In my defense, if I would have drove off and not double checked, I’d be on the hook for far more money. Someone should have checked the mileage and gas with me before I left after dropping the vehicle off. So, although my experience with the people at this location was great. I don’t think I’ll be using u-haul any further as I don’t feel there is trust in how the company goes about business.

I was charged for two days. When I returned the truck same day at 5:20pm. I tried calling uhaul about this mistake 5 times and no answer. I called customer service and they claimed to have send the interbay store a message to call me urgently. The store never called and did not fix this error. Horrible customer service

The location was extremely busy with only 1 person working the counter, they had lost/misplaced/not received a number of the keys back and didn't have the amount of trucks they had reserved to people, so it was a rather stressful and messy process and a long line as well.

The employees are friendly and efficient but the location is so busy it seems they can’t easily handle the demands - the management should add another cashier/customer service staff person so that busy times don’t create a long and stressful wait. Another cash register/staff person would make this place an excellent location, but as it is, it can only be average due to the longer wait times.

A few things: 1. Whoever doing the checking out to a customer should sit in the truck and go over things. I was just told there's the truck. I had to come back in 3x to figure out things. 2. The windows didn't adjust very well. Either too far out so I had to crane my neck or too far in. Not very good. 3. Truck was dirty and not cleaned in a while (in the cab) 4. Friendly guys at the front desk. 5. Impossible to get through to someone when I had a yellow light on the dash board. 6. Told me I'd get a copy of the materials regarding how to drive when I signed out. I didn't. 7. Never got a confirmation email because your system doesn't work. I had to drive in to get it all cleared up. Not helpful. Room for vast improvement!

Overall, I got a working truck that served my needs and was able to complete by shift of boxed belongings to storage within half a day. 1. it is not clear where customers can park. An attendant was kind and pointed out where I can park when he came across me in the UHaul lot. 2. The mobile web app seemed to save me a lot of time during check in and truck return. However, the experience is bit clunky. Even though I had taken a photo already, I had to take new photos directly from the mobile web site so that I could upload them. 3. there were delays picking up the truck.based on it being a busy time and probably some issues slowing things down.

I think his name was Jason? He was coordinating the parking lot for new trucks to come in and he yelled at me going in that I couldn’t park in the lot despite being a customer. He angrily suggested I park two blocks down the street in the Interbay golf course parking lot. There are multiple large signs in that lot that say no U-Haul parking. I considered cancelling right then and there. He yelled at another customer inside for parking in the lot so she could get her truck. It was remarkable. I think the ride share program is very clunky. It presents itself as convenience but requires more work than just walking in and renting a truck. It’s not a program I would recommend to friends at all.

Service was wonderful. Just be warned that parking is VERY limited at Interbay. We were lucky that weekday operations were rather slow at this location and were allowed to leave our car there while we arranged a couch move. Thanks to the uhaul rep whom let us park there temporarily!

The original location did not have the vehicle size I requested despite the website saying it was available. Reservation was changed to the other nearby location which was not a big deal, but a minor annoyance. While booking the van's mileage did not match what was in the system. The staff assured me they would manually adjust it when I returned the vehicle. I then returned the vehicle and reminded the staff who told me they were aware and would take care of it. The next day I was then charged nearly $100 more because the miles were never adjusted. Tried calling the location to sort it out; sat on hold, no answer. After contacting uHaul customer support I was told the location manager would reach out within 72 hours. Was never contacted and received a partial refund that I don't think was enough, with no explanation as to how the number was arrived at. So I would say things to improve for the next customer: -Have your inventory accurately reflected on the website -Charge the correct amount -Communicate when you make a mistake Will not be returning to this location.

He was working his ass off for the line of people that kept coming in. get him some help! have more staff there! don't be so cheap. I know the revenue is coming in .... again.... the poor gentleman there all alone ... not acceptable or fair to him ... and he was very helpful and polite!

I use this location on a pretty regular basis, it’s always super busy but definitely understaffed most of the time. On more than one occasion it’s been one person running the show and it leads to massive backups and waits for rentals.

I used order #20642248 to do a hitch install on my Audi A6 - I told them I wanted to tow a 5 by 8 covered to which they agreed that was the largest I could do. When I was leaving I noticed no ball so they included one. Then I used order #20643551 to puck up the 5 by 8 covered. They said the ball installed was a 1 and 3/4 but it needed the larger 2 inch so I paid an extra $60 to have this adapter crap installed - this is incompetence and a safety issue on the part of U-Haul and I need my tow hitch assembly installed properly and my $60 refunded. First, its a Saturday morning with only 1 person working, making picking up a reservation extremely time-consuming. I'm most agree with the fact that they rented out the Uhaul I was supposed to use the night before. Then struggled to get me the same Uhaul. Once they did get me the same one, they then made me return the Uhaul to this location after I had reserved a 1-way trip. Then proceeded to charge me for gas and mileage after agreeing to cover both because of their negligence. Would not recommend this location at all!

It took 30 minutes to get waited on.I called to tell them we would be return; 10 minute phone wait. Went to a central call center and they had to put me on hold to leave a message at the local office. Need better automation for the customer experience. Emails; texting; etc. The poor staff were overworked and they made the best of the chaos.

There's really nothing positive I can say about this location experience. The lights were off and the computers were down. Equipment was backing up into the six lane arterial. The was one guy walking around with a spray bottle spot-cleaning equipment, but couldn't help anyone, and one other guy (the manager?) saying that we couldn't really help anyone because the computers were down. 6-8 people waiting at any given time and no way to get a receipt for the equipment I returned. I tried to call the 800 number, but they said they couldn't generate a receipt either if the site's computers were down. This was a pretty horrible experience for both customer's and staff.

The employees were friendly and helpful, but they were very understaffed and a little disorganized. I was picking up a trailer that I had previously reserved. Only after waiting in line for about 30 minutes did the one employee running the register tell me that I actually had to wait around outside until someone out there could help me get it hooked up before checking out. That process then took a long time, mostly because there weren't enough people working here for the number of customers they are serving. After getting the trailer hooked up to my car, it then took quite a long time to check out because of computer errors. The entire process took about 3 hours just to pick up a trailer I had already reserved. This contributed to me restructuring my plans to leave the following day instead for my cross-country move. If repeating I would consider other locations if they are better staffed, but it would be hard to know ahead of time...

This site was disorganized and not the best that I have worked with. Some of the staff were friendly, others weren’t. The manager and the woman that I spoke with when I arrived were nice. I called to reserve and the woman on the phone was not helpful and when I arrived there was no reservation. They resolved the issue quickly in the day of my rental. Overall, I’m not sure if I would rent from them again.

This location is in sure need of an update. The parking lot is far too small, the building looks like it's mid construction (which it may be but I couldn't tell), and there needs to be one or more employees (there was only the manager and a new employee (I think) which was causing long wait times. The two employees were doing the best they could but it was obvious this location needs some help. I didn't want to rate because I know it dings the employees and they were only doing the best they could with what they had.

Original rental reservation was incorrect. I reserved 24 hours and was told I could only have vehicle for 6 hours. Took 2 hours on the phone to get a 17 foot rental for the next day. When I showed up, it took over an hour to get it, and it was a 15 foot not 17. Very displeased.

My reservation, even without prior notice was cancelled, but more or less the “rep” re-instated me, but fouled up the rate. Didn’t give any options for alternative, rebooked me, then said it was $600. I reluctantly accepted, due to time appointment. Very upset, as a continuous customer, I rely on service which gives me reason to reconsider.

The dolly was not hooked up when I opened the back of the truck. I took a picture and showed the guy working at the site as I did self check in. He said he would take care of it but I still got charged for the dolly which was I did not use. I have been a long time U-HAUL customer and will go out of my way to avoid this location and maybe U-Haul all together.

One professional employee, one not so professional employee were working at this location when I picked up my truck. Unfortunately I don't know their names, but I've had good interactions with the male employee, mid-age, strawberry-blonde-white hair, caucasian. This was my first time dealing with the (new?) younger employee who was not professional. He was texting on his personal phone while checking out my van and when I returned my van, he was on a personal call on speaker phone in the store. He didn't stop his call to check in my van, and I was subsequently overcharged for my van rental as it was not checked in until 10a the next day (I returned the van at 7:10p). I now have to call and sort out the overcharge, delaying my reimbursement from work. When I tried to call the location to ask why the van wasn't checked in yet (this morning), I was sent to a generic U-Haul call center, because this location (Interbay Self Storage) has opted not to receive direct calls to their location. I am really disappointed with this experience and although this is the closest U-Haul location to me, I will likely rent from another office next time.

The customer service in this location is sub par for many reasons! 1) I did the express check in and still had to wait in line. 2) When I returned the van, I realized I'd forgotten to get gas. I was blocked in by other trucks and could not leave and return as IO wanted. The representative was dismissive and unprofessional. The $30 fee is unacceptable in this case. 3) I was over charged for mileage. My reservations quoted $.89/mile and I was charged $1.09/mile. 4) I reached out to the location's manager two days ago to express my complaint and request a refund. I still have not received a response. This is beyond disappointing. It's unacceptable.

Interbay uhaul, not only did I wait to be helped, the woman that helped me (Patricia Dehart) was rude, extremely so when she made a comment about me being on my phone (I was updating my group about when I would arrive as we were moving and she was taking a considerable time) then she shamed me for opting out of the insurance for the small hitch but then adding it to my bill regardless. I contacted customer service and they called the local branch and assured me someone would get back to me but nothing. And now I have to pay $25 for a uhaul I had for an hour. It was a horrible experience and I cannot believe someone like that is working there. This is so beyond unacceptable.

The U-Haul located at the Interbay neighborhood in Seattle is absolutely horrendous. First, there aren't enough personnel to properly service the amount of customers who visit it. Second, the parking lot is congested and its hard to exit the lot. Third, and by far the most egregious, is that I was greatly over charged and it was incredibly difficult trying to get on the phone with someone to fix it. Honestly, I will not be using U-Haul ever again and I will be dissuading my friends from using U-Haul as well.

I was overcharged for an extra day despite turning the vehicle in approximately an hour before the rental was due. There was a line of vehicles waiting to be checked in and I went into the office to let them know I was returning the vehicle and was told to just leave the keys and they would check it in and email a contract. The location is not as well run as the Ballard location which is always prompt and attentive.

When we went in it was chaos. There were tons of people in line and only two people working. We stood in line for a while and were rushed into our reservation due to the chaos going on. We didn’t get any instruction on if we needed to fill up the tank, they didn’t tell us to check for any damages, just gave us the key and hurried us out. When we entered the vehicle there was 1/4 or 1/5 tank of gas. It was just above E and we went 50 miles and did not fill it up, but the E light still had not come on. We were charged $65 for using 1/4 tank of gas in our receipt. We returned the truck at 3:01 or 3:02 but the truck was not checked or anything I just dropped off the key and left and the receipt says we dropped it off at 3:30, which they then charged us for two separate rentals. What we thought would be at most an $80 or $100 rental was $200. Super disappointed in the lack of communication upon receiving the vehicle, disappointed that NO ONE is getting back to me or the person I was with about charging us WAY more than needed, and disappointed that there were not more people working because the poor guy behind the counter had to deal with so many things and people when we were there. We are hoping to just get partially refunded for gas considering they charged us for a full tank and we hardly used any, and hoping to get refunded for the “second rental.” I hope someone gets back to me after the weekend and I hope I get some of my money back because until then I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

Didn’t figure the proper mileage and I got hit with a big extra mileage bill in the end. Least you could do is figure out the proper mileage and maybe add 50 for gas and food. I am not happy with the performance or how I was unaware of the issue until I turned in your truck. I got it with 3/4 tank of gas / I cleaned your truck and gave you a FULL tank of gas to just end up with a big bill in the end. Thanks for Nothing. ??

To begin with, My original reservation made online for 9 am was moved to 12:15 I was informed via text the day before my move. Going with the flow, i shrugged it off and rearranged my plans and arrived 15 minutes early. I used the express check out on my phone, but could not skip the line because there were so many people. When I was finally seen i was told they did not have a key to the vehicle I had been assigned. I was given another and told to wait outside - but they forgot about me for 20 minutes and when I went back in all representatives were at their desks (not with customers) and treated rudely when I asked when I would be helped. I was then told to go out to the vehicle, then told by the other worker to go back inside because, “this is going to take a while.” Throughout this experience the representatives were audibly bickering with one another. Ultimately, I left the lot over an hour after my reserved time. I am not one to leave reviews or complain but I definitely won’t return to that location again, if I use U-Haul again at all.

This location is committing fraud and robbery!! They are falsifying the mileage out on the contracts and charging 100 miles over what was actually driven. I spoke with two employees asure me and even had one of them sign the contract with the correct mileage that I would not be over charged and yet I recieved the charge and it is about $70 over what I should’ve been charged. I barely drove 10 miles and am being charged for 100+. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will never be using this company again!

the van smelled like cat pee and wasnt cleaned before it was rented out. i requested for a specific time, that was accepted, but the person helping me set my contract for a period of time that was much shorter than what i requested. i was then charged for more than what i used, i was charged for an extra day when i returned the van a day earlier than what uhaul recorded

I was charged $160 in extra mileage, even though I had only driven 40 miles total. Attempting to speak to a manager or get a refund lead to a run-around wherein no manager was available at the store or via telephone. I had to escalate the matter to corporate to receive any sort of help.

This was my first time using the app pickup and drop off. It would have been nice to know earlier in the reservation process about the second verification required (passport, lease, workplace, etc). The reservation tech actually tried calling my work on a Sunday! Other than that, pickup went pretty smoothly. Dropoff was technically very simple, except the lot was so backed up and the one employee so overworked I'm not sure I parked the truck in the proper space. If the app is the main way, having actual parking spots marked would be preferable.

I reserved a truck with a pick up time of 9am. When I arrived at the location, my truck that I reserved online was apparently out of serivce so I had to wait in a 45 minute line. I left the lot at 9:45 so my moving trip was delayed by 45 minutes. When I returned the uhual, 45 minutes after the time I scheduled to return it, I was charged a late fee. Very disappointing.

I arrived around 11:05 for a 10:30 reservation and had checked in online to speed the process. Despite checking in, the Ubox wasn't ready and due to disorganization, we waited 45 min to access it. Once available, U-Haul had drilled bolts into the door of the box so I couldn't open it. I asked for tools to remove the bolts but the employees never came back with tools. I wandered the facility and found some tools myself in their shop, so was able to start removing my items around 1.5hrs after arriving. In the end, I was able to get everything moved but it could have been easier and quicker.

The computer system was down when I picked up my truck. The manager handled this to the best of his ability and I appreciate that he did not allow it to delay my departure. His flexibility in this situation was to his credit and I consider that to be good service. Having a manual system to use as a backup would help. He simply suggested to take photos of the truck. I had to leave with no paperwork or rental contract in hand, and it was quite confusing to finally get a receipt (had to call UHAUL). Also, the tank was only half full, the windshield & vehicle had clearly not been cleaned, perhaps for several trips, there was sticky coffee residue in the cab including on the radio dials and cup holder. Some basic cleaning between uses would be preferable. Nonetheless, I did not encounter any mechanical issues with the truck though it did make a loud odd noise if you depressed the brake before turning on the truck. Overall, the truck was relatively easy to handle and the cab was quite comfortable, if not terribly clean.

Way too long of wait times in the "lobby." Slow, unmotivated, unfriendly, lazy, and confused staff. Just unimpressive system of operation overall. They didn't know I wanted mattress bags that I had added to my cart when I registered for our vehicle on-line and we never got them. We waited way too long to get our truck. We hired movers for the day and it cost us an hours worth of work having them sitting at our house waiting while we waited for our truck. Very dissatisfying. They didn't have the right size truck available when we got there at our scheduled time. The person who rented it before us hadn't brought it back on time. They took one that was designated to another person that was 20' instead of the 26' we ordered and gave us that one. Just a messy system. Embarrassing. Would not recommend or use again.

There is no complaint with the person working, he was doing the best that he could. BUT there was only one staff on duty at 9:00 am on a Saturday. The line was 8-10 people long and it took us close to an hour to be served. Then I find out that the pickup that I had RESERVED was NOT available. Ended up with a 10 ft truck. Other people in front of me also had no truck for their reservation. I would not choose this location again.

once someone was available to help me, he stayed on his phone almost the whole entire time, responding to his phone over me. they planned on giving me one van but switched last minute to another van, which wasn't an issue until they recorded the wrong mileage, charging me over 150 miles worth extra of mileage. the uhaul had issues unlocking, it wouldn't unlock without the key in the ignition and turned, which was not translated to me, along with any other possible things I'd need to know, they didn't give me any information on the rig itself. the customer service reps over the phone were nice and understanding.

I ordered a truck on-line and completed the on-line check-in. This was supposed to cut in half the process time. When I arrived, there were three people in line and no sight of any employees. Turns out there was only one person working. I waited over an hour to be served. His first response was that he didn't have the truck I wanted. At that point I was at the end of my patience. There was one on the lot but it hadn't been checked in yet. So another 10 minutes... Also there was absolutely no parking in the lot or on the street.
